I loved this book. It was so emotional and I loved the way the author interwove the original story in with this fanfic. Beautifully done. Found it on archiveofourowm.com when I did a Harry/Draco search.
Okay, I know this doesn't count as a real book but it's 300,000 words so I am counting it. It's been ages since I actually finished a book with my Board Exams coming up and even longer since I read a Drarry fanfiction. It was really good though. Very tragic, but I loved the plot. I am glad it ended happily, because 'All's Well that End's Well' right? The characters were plotted out well and it's my favourite trope (angst) so it felt really good to read it.
It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I for one actually needed a breather, which this provided me.
Practically DNF at 50% because I'm not interested in torturing myself. Skimmed the rest.
1st half: 5* 2nd half: Why? Oh, why? I love slow burn as much as the next person but I need the characters to actually interact during it. This was more like a slow drowning. And then when they actually got into the same room, it was horrifically underwhelming. The thing is, I get it, it was realistic, but I can't be bothered to read 500 pages of a Drarry fanfic where Draco and Harry barely utter a word to one another. Especially after so much angst, I wanted a more satisfying resolution. It felt like tension just fizzled out here and then it sort of just reached an inevitable conclusion. No hate to the author, it just wasn't what I was expecting and I'd rather not disappoint myself further. The first half was really good though, up until the trial (which was perfect), even despite the errors in writing which were a bit crazy (I was warned but still didn't imagine there would be SO many).
OH MY GOD!! I've read this fic in 2 days, I was so caught up in it I couldn't do anything except reading. It was as if my life stopped and I was completely immerse in this story. I love the development of Harry and Draco's relationship and their friendship with Cedric. The plot is brilliant and fit perfectly with the canon story. And the writing is truly amazing. The author can convey so many emotions through it, I wish I had the same gift. I will definitely come back to read it again and again.
I loved it from start to end! The story unfolded super nicely and I loved that we, as the readers, experienced Harry and Draco's love story twice in this fanfiction. I loved that they managed to see past everything that happened and that they found to each other again. However, I would have liked to know how exactly Harry's memories were after the sessions with the mind healers were complete.

Ahhh, nothing like a beautiful Drarry fanfic. I will probably continue to ignore all my unread books for a couple weeks and read a few more of these. Perhaps even sprinkle a little Dramoine in here as well???
This was my introduction to Drarry. It wasn't, by any means, bad. But I've come to the conclusion that maybe Drarry isn't for me. I didn't like the dynamic of the characters and my biggest complaints are 1) how big this was, too much going on, it just wasn't necessary and 2) the characterization of most characters, didn't like that. It's still pretty well written and maybe if you like Drarry this will work for you, it didn't for me tho.
This is by far my favourite HP Fanfiction read to date. I always love it when there's interconnectivity with the actual story making it more believable. Reading this made me love, cry and feeeeeeeel. The angst? Amazing!!!!
On saturday 20 October 2007 Rowling said that Dumbledore was gay. Nothing in the books affirms that but as well nothing denies. It could be. So going with that thought of what if... This book starts like it's exploring what could be between lines of JKR books but it's not all. Narration keeps you on toes. With intriguing prologue that reveals just enough to make you both look forward and dread what will come. Whole thing was an incredibly awesome story. Looks like it might have been written very fast, with editing errors. Some lines do not make sense if you do not take those errors in an account. (Think I'm overusing pronouns now after reading this many sentences without them, sorry). I think the best recommendation was put into words by the Author themselves in notes after chapter 15:
"Public Service Announcement: Check the time. Seriously. If it is after midnight you might not want to start the next chapter tonight (unless you have vampirelike abilities), because the angst is high and doesn't stop for quite a while... the biggest complaint I get from readers is sleep deprivation (2nd is SPaG errors). I think you'll find it worthwhile in the end, but I get a lot of reviews written blearily in the wee hours of the morning saying they couldn't stop reading so I wanted to warn you."
And that was on the spot. It is that kind of book. Huge thing, 302 209 words you can't stop reading.
This was one of the two loooong Darry fics I remembered. I don't know whether it was the fic itself or the audio format, but it was not as good as I remember (though this may just be my age speaking). Wow, I just realized I bookmarked this fic a whole SIX YEARS ago. I was 14 🥺 that does explain it lol.
Like before, the first 1/3 of the fic is the best (Drarry + Cedric in school). I don't regret the 21 hours I put into finishing this, but I likely won't read it again. Away Childish Things, comparatively, did stand the test of time.
There were parts that made me feel so much secondhand embarrassment. I remember not liking the Charlie scenes and I still don't. The premise is interesting (and honestly the most memorable part outside of Draco's drawings), but not enough to carry a fic so long. What makes me remember this fic is a memory of crying when Ginny first sees the drawings and believes in their relationship. It didn't hit as hard this time, but I still think their little gestures of love make for the best parts.

This is a beautiful story! I would have rated it much higher, were it not for the huge amount of typos, the lack of correct interpunction and the mix ups between you're/your, choose/chose, Flitwick/Flitwik etcetera. Why was this not beta'd properly? It got worse as the story progressed. Frustrating. But ultimately the story was worth it.
this book had me fucked up in the middle. i’m happy with the ending and how everything worked out. it was overall an interesting take on their story. i liked how their character’s were written. just felt a little lacking in certain ways. plus i was definitely hoping the book would go in a different direction than it did. still enjoyed it though.
This was super long and not great in parts but I sat with it for almost 20 hours. I really enjoyed it! It's so fucking long but I did not want it to end.
Not me drowning myself in novel length Harry Potter fanfiction
Also, the start is admittedly a little rocky writing-wise but trust me, it’s even more satisfying to see it mature alongside the characters making the story simply chef’s kiss
