Alexander was an amazing person, but I do not envy the man: his screwed up family certainly didn't do him any favors. I was very pleased that the author left out a lot of the political scandal/intrigue about his father's assassination because it's all hear-say, we don't know for sure who ordered the hit.
While I admire the guy's ambition, he should have learned when enough was enough and he probably would have lived, but then I guess if you're Alexander the great and think that you're descendant of a God, then enough is never enough?
