Traitor's Loyalty

Rate this book
When Mira infiltrates Kiara's all-female pack as a spy for her brother Kaden and the coalition forces, she expects to find chaos and weakness. Instead, she discovers a thriving community that challenges everything she's been taught about pack hierarchy and female roles.

Assigned to watch the suspicious newcomer, master tracker Cleo immediately senses something isn't right about Mira's story. As Cleo observes Mira's inconsistencies, she finds herself drawn to the mysterious wolf despite her growing certainty that Mira is an infiltrator sent to destroy everything they've built.

With the full moon approaching and coalition forces gathering at their borders, Mira faces an impossible betray the brother who raised her, or the pack, and the woman, who've shown her a different way to live. When loyalty to blood and loyalty to heart collide, the resulting clash will either tear apart everything Kiara's pack has built or prove that transformation is possible even for those raised in the old ways.

In this second installment of the Lunar Bonds series, enemies become lovers and betrayal gives way to belonging as Mira and Cleo discover that the most powerful bonds are the ones we choose for ourselves.

This is a spicy FF series featuring explicit scenes.

Really well done. I enjoyed it for the fact that Mira is slowly realizing that she's been lied to her whole life by her brother, about the all-female clans and what they represent, and then Cleo with her coming to terms with the fact that Mira is her true mate and also was an infiltrator who lied to her about her true purpose there. So, it does take some time for them to trust one another, but once they do, the story continues to build and build to a satisfying, if somewhat straightforward, ending.
I still don't like the preachiness of the whole "Choosing her" thing because we know that there's not really a choice you have when it comes to attraction and loving someone is not something you can really choose.
You can choose to not love them, but if it is real and both parties feel that love, then that is not about choice but rather trusting the other party with your heart and love. Nothing to do with choice.

I tried to give this book a chance after having a hard time reading the first one, but I couldn't finish it. It has a lot of redundancy and is excessively repetitive, just like the first one. The plot was nice; I wish I had liked the book.
