Darkness looms on the horizon as the Imperium approaches another Great Expansion, their hunger to expand and settle old scores, growing ever stronger. The GCH prepares for the worst, hoping to weather the inevitable storm, while tensions mount between the Reptilian Empire and the Oceanic Union, threatening to draw the GCH into a second war to defend their ally, creating a deadly recipe for all out galactic conflict.
The time has come for William Jackson to put his skills to the test and search for Ancient sites where advanced technology, lost to the ages, could help turn the tide of the coming conflict. Joined by Lieutenant Verris and a team of experts lead by Admiral Valentyen, they'll seek out these elusive ruins in the hopes of defending humanity.
Unbeknownst to them, an enraged Arachnid Queen hunts them relentlessly, seeking vengeance for the bio-weapon that destroyed her once thriving colony. While in the shadows, mysterious forces wage a secret war, each with their own agenda and willing to stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Discoveries. Betrayal. Sacrifice. And the lost legacy of the once mighty Ancients.
This is the continuing story of William Jackson and the third book in the Legacy series.
Bradley Elliott is a Canadian writer of science fiction.
When not writing, he enjoys the great outdoors in the summer, along with skiing, snowmobiling and playing hockey in the winter. An avid board game fan, he's always up for a game of cards, a round of Catan, or something a little more complex if the time permits.
As a reader, he enjoys a variety of genres including sci fi, fantasy, a good thriller or mystery from time to time, and occasionally non-fiction, especially true-life adventure tales.
A really good story continues and continues to remind me of early Heinlein works. Plenty of action, logical military actions, and the good guys have to realistically take their lumps.
I have only one procedural comment for those who proofread; masts exist only on ships and that is where the term "half-mast" came into use. In ground use, the flag holder is a "staff" and the proper term is "half-staff".
I'm still recommending this series and I'm downloading the next book, now.
