This was an hour-killing train wreck of a book.

Seriously this thing was ridiculous.

First off, Nolan.

Holy Restraining Order, Batman, this guy was nucking futs like you would not believe.

Like we are talking legit psychopath here people.

description

If I met this guy in real life or had a friend dating him I would be like RUN.

RUN FOREST-ETTE RUN.

description

Cause homie be CA-RAZY.

Second, the central "conflict?"

description

LAAAAAAAAAAAME.

Seriously what a completely unbelievable hot mess of a story line.

But you know what?

description

And just like "Miley Being Miley," this book is just "Aurora Being Aurora."

With crazy OTT alpha males that are so beyond restraining order worthy it's not even funny and plot lines that are like the most shiteous Law & Order episode you've ever seen.

But without any actual LAW.

Or ORDER...

And quite frankly I don't care.

Cause I love this shit.

Title: Justified (Alpha Law Firm, #1)
Series: Alpha Law Firm
Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds
Release Date: December 29th, 2014
Rating: 3 "Part Alfha, Part Ass" Stars
Cliffhanger: No

Why do I feel like Nolan is going to spilt opinion?

Like so many of Aurora's Men he has an abundance of the Alpha gene, as well having the three P's:

.Protective
.Possessive
.Partially Psycho

From the moment Nolan lays eyes on Chloe it's game over, he's smitten and he has to have her; whether she likes it or not. (Not kidding!) Luckily for him (and her), the attraction is mutual and said instant attraction turns into an instant relationship. His devotion to her is undeniable and his need to protect her is his main priority.

Where I do think Nolan will split opinion is the manner in which he spoke on occasion. Some of the things that that came out of his mouth, gave me no choice but to be put out by it. Although lacking in other areas, Chloe is an adult and has a mind of her own and should be treated as such.

I did enjoy the steamy scenes until his mouth got the better of him in the last couple. If you are a Aurora fan you'll eat it up. If not, just beware some dickish behaviour lies ahead.

I love over the top, obsessive, protective alphas. And for some reason, when Aurora Rose Reynold’s writes about insta-love, it doesn’t even bother me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Normally, this brash alpha and love at first sight thing does not work for me. But the way she does it just does. These books are guilty pleasures of mine and I can’t get enough! This book is so different from her other series, but not in a bad way! I enjoyed the steam, the mystery, and even the over the top domineering man!

When Nolan first laid his eyes on Chloe, it was over. He knew he had met the girl for him. Call it crazy, but the second he saw her it clicked. He just knew.
My feelings for her go above and beyond the realm of normal and into the categories of slightly crazy, obsessed, and extreme possession.... She's mine and has been from the moment I first saw her.

Nolan is a successful attorney and Chloe works in a bakery. Their relationship moves fast. It works for them, they are happy together. Then someone starts messing with Chloe... and Nolan knows it has to do with him. He has people that aren’t too fond of him. He just has to figure out who is after him and how to stop it...

Justified is a short read. It’s sexy, suspenseful and entertaining. I love Aurora Rose Reynold’s writing and I like my alpha’s that are bossy and protective. I know stories like this don’t work for everyone, but I very much enjoyed this novella and look forward to the rest of the Alfha Law Firm books!

UGH! That's it. I can't take this "hero" anymore. And don't even get me started on the heroine.

DNF 61%

"Behave?" she repeats.
"Yes. Unless you would like me to bend you over and spank you in front of all of these people for acting like a brat, I suggest you behave."
"You wouldn't. She struggles against my hold.
My arms wrap around her, turning so that my body is blocking her from the rest of the room as I slap her ass hard enough to get her attention. Her body stills and her mouth opens in a gasp.
"Now behave," I tell her again.

And with that, my friends...

3 Bossy Stars.

This novella brings the steam, the romance and the mystery. Okay, the mystery part was a bit predictable, in the way that I realized what was happening almost from the beginning, but the rest completely almost up for it.
When Nolan met innocent Chloe he was done for good. And he was decided to do everything in her power to have her and keep her safe with him. Sometimes he came across as a bit psycho and I didn’t like how he didn’t give Chloe a single choice: He practically forced her to move in with him and decided they would get married and have a football team of kids. She had absolutely no choice. (Well, and she didn’t try hard to have one, so I guess it was also her fault.) Sometimes I wasn’t sure if the hero really loved Chloe or was simply borderline obsessed with her. And as some crucial scenes were cut or rushed, I couldn’t fully connect with the foundation of their romance. All that together decided my 3 stars rating. And believe me, I would never thought I would give three stars to one of this author’s books.

description

I am normally not the biggest fan of insta-love. I love the drama and the chasing that comes with falling in love. And despite loving alpha males, I’m also not the biggest fan of unbearably bossy guys. Probably because I would never last with one in real life.
But for some reason, Aurora Rose Reynolds books always join those two factors together and I always love her books. She felt a little behind on this one, but I still enjoyed it.
She found a writing formula, stood with it, and she always wins. I love the way she creates alpha males, extremely bossy, that fall hard and fast and do everything for the heroine.
So if you want a steamy book, with an alpha hero and with a romantic background, read this book.
Or better yet, read allher books. (Believe me, her other books are amazing!)

"3,5 Crazy Obsessed Alpha Male stars"

I think this book was the most OTT book I have ever read...

My God the things that were happening had me trying to blink slowly in case I missed something because let me tell you every damn second something was happening...

Nolan had money coming out of his ass (Lucky Bastard), he was crazy obsessed and possessive of Chloe in a way that I was surprised he let her breath without his permission...

description

I liked this book but Nolan was suffocating with the things he did, I mean don't get me wrong I love possessive alpha males as much as the girl next door, but come on he was ordering her around for everything. I would like for Chloe to have some sass, I think that would make the book even better, you know when she sass and he has to spank her to put some sense on her...Yeah that's what I'm talking about....But unfortunately what we got was another story...Equally good but NOT great!

description

So yeah I wanted the OTT story and that's what I got and I don't regret it!!!Their sex scenes were hot too!

Urrgghhh... how do I even begin to write this review? This was my first experience of Aurora Rose Reynolds and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I really wanted this book to be brilliant... I mean I love a fictional alpha as much as the next woman but from the moment I got inside Nolan the asshole's head, it all kind of went south. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't just because of him that this story just didn't work for me but he was definitely a contributing factor.
"Her large natural D's should look awkward on her tiny frame, but they go with her fat ass."

A prime example of why this man was a dick was the above line... my first response was "Hell to the N to the O... HE DID NOT JUST THINK THAT!!!" To make matters worse, he was talking about the love of his life!!! Yup.. such a hopeless romantic wouldn't you say. Unfortunately Nolan's behaviour got progressively worse the further I got into "Justified." He was rude, obnoxious and controlling and honestly, there was nothing sexy about him whatsoever. I prayed I would see a shift in his character or even a reason for his twat like behaviour, but no, Nolan did not redeem himself in any way, shape or form. The way he acted was crazy possessive and freakish and if Chloe was a friend of mine, I'd tell her to run a mile.

Chloe... OMG that girl was a bloody doormat. The way Nolan ordered her around, made decisions for her and basically treated her like a five year old made my blood boil. What made it worse was the fact the she just kept on taking it like it was the most normal thing in the world.... madness.. complete and utter madness and I wanted to give her a good shake and tell her to get a grip.

"Justified" was a short, fast paced story that unfortunately lacked depth and character development. I wanted to see the romance between the couple blossom but I didn't get it. I wanted to get to know the characters as individuals, get to know a little bit about their past maybe... it didn't happen. Chloe and Nolan got together within a couple of pages... he saw her in the bakery and more or less "claimed her" and it was love from there... very unrealistic and not believable at all. The twists that were thrown in... I mean really... I was eye rolling at how certain elements of this story unraveled. There was way too much packed in to so few pages and unfortunately I just didn't connect with any of it. I wanted this story to work... I mean I read the whole book from start to finish but no... I'm sorry to say, this one was not for me.

HOT!!! HOT!!!! HOT!!!!! Yes, I will say it again HOT!! That’s right Ms. Aurora Rose Reynolds, Justified was deliciously sexy and steamy!! I’m slapping my forehead right about now because why did it take me so long to finally read my first book from this author. How could I not I love this book? I was already hooked from the opening line from this story because Ms. Reynolds literally started this book with a bang. **pun intended** Hot sex to open up the book….why YES, I LOVE THAT!!!! Hot sexy lawyer with major ALPHA personality...LOVE!!! And HOT Scorching sex...LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Justified can be simply described as an enjoyable HOT SEXY DIRTY READ!! It had a story line that focused on a very Alpha Lawyer who is very protective of his girlfriend and there are justifications for his worry when someone tries to harm his girlfriend. So you know what that means? Why yes, hot overprotective alpha hero, who will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of his love.

#J

So if you are looking for a quick read that will turn the heat up your kindle then look no further because there is no other justification as to why not read JUSTIFIED by Aurora Rose Reynolds. I can’t wait for Carter’s book.

Having read this authors other series - the Until one, that started out not good for me and improved as the series went on and I really like that last couple of books, I was looking forward to this.

Having read some other reviews, I have to agree it gave off a very Jordan Silver/Lynda Chance vibe, with the hero, but the hero annoyed me in a way Lynda Chance's Heros do not. I think she does it much better.

I read this over a week ago while on holiday, so this shall be short, but in reading it it felt like I was almost reading the first draft or even the summary of the story. It jumped around a bit, sometimes stuff is mentioned that as a reader we have no clue about. The entire Maxine situation was odd and felt forced, and mentioned at some point the hero's relationship with her father, and I searched and searched through the book, wondering what the hell that was, since nothing had been mentioned AT ALL before, and nothing.

NO character development, flimsy rushed plot, too many times, things were mentioned that felt like I should have had prior knowledge of, yet had no clue.

The hero felt a bit dumb, despite the heroine being in "danger" and him half recognising a woman, or a smell, he constantly just shrugs his shoulder and gets back to slobbering over the heroine.

So, basically, read this, but then go and listen to Tim Minchin's Inflatable You, since the heroine could have been a blow up doll for all she had an opinion or personality.

And can someone explain the "alfha" thing to me, that just annoys me.

And ok, it turned out to not be that short of a review!

2 Stars(1 star for the mild storyline and another for the smut )

Holy shit. Where do I being ?
The heroine is so inconsistent character wise.(She's either fiercely argumentative or in constant denial.)Thank god I didn't have to bear her for a whole book.

description

And the hero ? He's a certified phyco.
description

Unlike the heroine if he ever told ME to shut my mouth at any time ,I'll probably WIRE his jaw shut by the end of the day.Lol.

Wouldn't really recommend even for lovers of over the top alpha males.Nothing that memorable about this read,to be honest.

Whew....no, I read this book late at night, in bed....why I remember this now is that I kept nodding off many times before struggling to turn the last page!!!!

I kept rolling my eyes...this guy Nolan is alpha-male overkill!!!!! And Chloe...beyond sweet and cute!!!!!

Lots of sex scenes, which failed to "turn my buttons.." and the most ridiculous revelation of the villain..........by that part in the story, I was beyond crossed-eyed from so much eye-rolling......

Before I begin I must warn, this book has instalove, insta-everything with a seriously possessive, overbearing Alpha Male that made even me question this guys sanity. This book will not be for everyone and if you’re even thinking about reading this novella, you need to leave judgment and all sense of reality at the door. This is the kind of book where it’s completely crazy and just not realistic but if you’re in the right mindset, you could enjoy.

For some reason I thought this was a full length novel but it’s not, it’s a short novella. To be honest, I wish this book was a full length novel. It was way too short and there was just too much packed into a mere 80 pages. We don’t even really get to see how they meet, the book starts with them already together. I felt like I picked up a random book and started reading at the halfway mark. I need more. I needed more details, more character development, more everything really. I don’t mind reading novellas but usually they’re serials about the same character not one whole story in a short book. I feel every scene was cut short and just barely talked on, and I was being told what had happened rather then seeing for myself.

Despite all that, I actually liked this book. I'll be the first to say that I hate insta love/insta anything but when it comes to Aurora Rose Reynolds, for some reason, it works for me. I've read her "Until" series and I loved them and her crazy alpha males. If this were a full length novel, I have no doubt I would have enjoyed this book 1000x's more.

From what I got from the ending the next book will be about…someone’s granddaughter? Honestly I’m confused because I’m not sure if Nolan is the boss at Alfha Law Firm (a place hardly mentioned) or just a lawyer there. I’m guessing the granddaughter is some other guys family and not Nolan because then the story would have to be YEARS in the future. I’m kind of curious for the next book but I’ll probably wait to know more about it before I decide if I’ll read it or not.

Short, domineering and, at times, rushed. If you are looking for a quick spicy read than you will be pleased with Justified. If you want a long, emotional read then you might want to give it a pass. I enjoyed it, but......I was left wanting way more with the plot. It felt more like an outline for a really good book to me. I wanted much more. Fast paced and packed with so much drama I felt a little cheated on the details.

Total controlling alpha male and a virgin submissive….. you get the idea. It is written well, but I need more meat (No pun intended HA!)

It's more a three star read but I gave it an extra half star because it was sweet in a way how he would drop everything to be with her.
He had a lot of issues with his ex-wife and I did not even understand how she was hoping to get away with having had tubal ligation??? That's a little extreme! I mean hiding the pill would have been easier or even an IUD that's way simpler.
Also, given that he really wanted children how could the ex-wife even think she was going to be taken back!?? Crazy much!? She will never be able to have children and that's the one thing he wants so WFT? Cray cray is her name.
The whole sister helping the batsh!t cray cray out was like...oh yeah well of course! That makes complete sense. If you get rid of the one pregnant woman he loves, he will of course go back to the one bitch slut he hates so much he would rather cut his dick off than have sex with.
Man where do they find this bull?
However, the heroine was a nice normal hottie and the hero being an obsessed alpha but for the most part normal. So it was a good story in the end. Not great just good.

Side note: that first scene almost had me stop reading. I mean telling a woman to shut up and no talking during sex while hitting her, well that's my kryptonite. Telling someone to shut up is disrespectful and insulting. It's not like what she was saying to him was hurtful or insulting. I don't like that kind of disrespect. It's a personal choice I guess.
Just a 3.5 star read for me.

Nolan is a high profile lawyer and recently divorced man that sees what he wants and goes after it. When he spots Chloe he knows instantly she’ll be his. Convincing her of her place beside him isn’t too difficult of a task, but keeping the threats surrounding them isn’t as easy.

So there are few things about books by Aurora that you are guaranteed; hot alpha men that fall instantly, fall hard and never take no for an answer... Nolan was all kinds of sexy with a side of caveman. However, what I was missing was a connection. I just never felt that spark with him or Chloe that allowed me to become invested into this story. It was a very short read and the parts that could have allowed me to get that connection were skipped over. We go from looking from afar, to being full blown in love with a few flashbacks, but not much.

It was a hot read. It was entertaining and well written. It had all the things I love about ARR books, but that one thing – the ability to feel more towards the characters.

Overall, I enjoyed it but I just can’t say that I loved it. I did love the over the top actions and behavior of Nolan and the sex was off the charts hot, but that was pretty much all there was for me in this particular book.

ARR has her own flavor, and I think you either like her or hate her. (much like Diana Palmer) Her books are very formulaic with an OTT, obsessive alpha caveman H and an innocent, sweet, virginal h that is usually in some type of danger…. and there’s usually a wannabe OW lurking about that gets ZERO attention from the uber besotted H. My rating is for this variety of romance… BUT… if you’re not a fan or hankering for an unrealistic, cheesy, overly dramatic, smutty romance… I wouldn’t recommend.

The book opens with Nolan and Chloe already together (having sex) and then we’re briefly filled in on their history which is pretty much an insta-love/you’re now my woman situation. The rest is sex, lots of bossing, and Chloe in danger.

Bottom Line- This is short (100 pages) and entertaining enough in a mindless, soap-opera sort of way, but lacks substance… even by ARR standards. I think this might have been one of her earlier books, and it felt less polished/cruder than her Until series… almost bordering into Jordan Silver territory. Short epilogue 5 yrs later.

If you're after over the top possessive alpha heroes the Alpha law Firm series is exactly your cup of tea.

Nolan ticks all the boxes of an Alpha, he takes what he wants and makes no excuses for it, is over the top possessive and can make your panties melt with just a look.
Chloe came across as an innocent little daisy who wouldn't disagree with anything anyone says. But she turns out to be a headstrong independent woman who doesn't care about Nolan's money, she was exactly what he needed.

Add in some drama from a super bitch ex, plenty of hard domineering sex and that about sums it up.

No there's nothing new about this but it gives you exactly what it says on the tin. Loved it

Start to finish, this was just plain bad. I've never read a book with such little character development. He was called an alpha, but I feel like that was a disservice to the word. Asshole in need of psychiatric help is more like it; stalker is even more accurate. The whole story was rushed, even for a novella. And before you crucify me, know that I am A-okay with insta-love and over the top TRUE alpha's. I'm no prude; the darker and dirtier the better. This was just NOT that, even a little. I felt like the characters never even had a real conversation; in fact the majority of the dialogue was him ordering her around, and not in a make your panties melt kind of way.

I've enjoyed this author's other works, so to read this was a shock and disappointment. It had the groundwork to be a potentially good story, but we weren't given the chance to get to know anyone. It felt as if we were expected to open to page one and just be okay with everything and in the know. The series is called Alfha (don't EVEN get me started on that) Law Firm, but I don't think it's ever even mentioned he's a lawyer. Like I said, there was a lot of expectations from the author to the reader and it all fell horribly flat. I found myself cringing multiple times at the cervix touching, breeding, and implanting seed; I could keep going, but you get the gist. I felt like the book was 75% sex, which I'm usually okay with, but there was no storyline or connection, which is paramount. Beyond bummed...

A lil sad thought I would of luvd this

Ok so we this book started with a bang straight in sexy time an hot sexy time Nolan is a very hot Alpha an God his he an Alpha he has 2 b in control of everything an when it comes 2 Chloe there is no exceptions he wants her with him whenever it's possible which I have 2 say is really annoyin I did like Chloe she started coming out of her shell an started 2 stand up 2 Nolan it would never work but at least she would try

I think I would of liked this book a lil more if it was longer started a bit different an she got 2 know more about both main characters I do like that it was in Nolan's pov but I did miss not know what Chloe was thinkin with Nolan bein such a strong character it would of been great 2 know what she was thinkin a lot happened in this book an it was very cramped like I said if it was longer I think it would of been better

I really like this author an the books I 've read have been so good so while I was readin this I was a lil gutted that it wasn't as good as I thought I don't know if I d recommend it I d like 2 say Ye cause I luv her work an everyone is different an maybe I just expected more sorry xxx

Well...
I'm disappointed. No, actually I'm pissed. Because I REALLY love this author's ability to write true protective, alpha heroes, a girl can love. Girls with spunk at least. Chloe muttered 20 sentences in the whole book (moaning, screaming and grunting aside).
This book was plainly a book about a narcissistic dude who's actually enthralled with himself. As I was reading it I couldn't help but feel that I was drawn into a BAAAAD 50 Shades of Grey fanfic where the main protagonists where blown waaay out of porpotion and the plot was non-existent.
When he decided that she doesn't have to work I thought to myself, ok I MAYBE can live with that since I usually love an a@@hole. When he SPANKS her in front of people in the middle of a soire I was HELL-TO-THE-NO!!! And what does she do? She goes home with him, lets him rip of a dress she likes (a dress he so magnanimously allowed her to wear) and screw his brains out. At that point, I was "you deserve him, girlfriend".
Lastly the plot twists had me wondering if I was actually reading an episode of "As The World Turns".

So, fellow readers, there you have it. Major rant over.
I STILL love the author, I'll still buy her books and support her 100%. But I can't help feeling disappointed. With this book.

3.0 RATING-An okay read. Similiar to a Lynda Chance book, just less polished. Definitely a book you can't take too seriously. The hero is a total alpha with major stalker tendencies. In real life, he'd be on the news as wanted and dangerous. In book life, he was fun to read about. I wish the heroine had one ounce of backbone, it may have made the story more interesting but overall, it was okay.

I'll stick with this series because I like my guilty pleasure reads and I like the author. I did think the price of $2.99 was pretty steep for less than 100 pages but did apprecaite the author making the book loanable which makes the price a bit easier to swallow.
