She’s spent much of her professional life telling the stories of Iowa and its residents, including several years as a features reporter and editor for the Des Moines Register. Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in American history from the University of Iowa.
A group of stories mostly surrounding the beginnings of the Eagle Ridge founding and growth over the years. Centered mostly around the strength of the women in the community and their families. I recognized many of the names and parts they play in the contemporary era of the area. I was especially touched by the story of Helen Winona) and Violet.
It was fun reading about the past of Eagle River. Some of the stories I recognized the names, others I did not, but the summary at the end cleared everything up for me. Quite enjoyable and makes me more than ready for the next book.
I love Melanie Lageschulte books but this book is a miss. It’s so boring, I am 75% done and giving up. I can’t even finish it. The stories are boring and I see no point in most of them.
Loved this hometown rural, low key mystery series! Great description, dialogue and setting. A perfect relaxing and creative read in these challenging times!
