Alzheimer's disease is the long good-bye. For Mom it was twenty years. People often ask.How did you deal with it? It was one day at a time thanking God for ordinary things like a new doll, an old purse, pink nail polish, a red barn, a Dairy Queen and butterscotch sundaes.
I worked with dementia patients for 30 years and this is just a beautiful story of what it is like as a daughter watching her mother go through this terrible disease. This would be a great book for someone who is currently going through this journey. I cried real tears at the end.
With my parents getting to this age I am interested in this subject. I also enjoy reading about places near hear such as the Dairy Queen at the intersection of Hwy 71 and 14, St John's Lutheran Home in Springfield.
