Fenella has led the life of a nomad, wandering the world, relying solely on herself, and encountering hardships that left deep emotional scars. Now, safe in the immortals' village, she uncovers an unexpected connection and a hidden talent that may inspire her to finally put down roots.
I couldn’t help but add some spoilers - they’re too juicy to leave out!
As always, this book is entertaining, engaging and just leaves you anxious to read the next! Love, intrigue and excitement makes this another page-turner that you simply cannot put down Fenella’s growing admiration of Din continues to grow, but she is a little shell shocked that Din has progressed already to the professing his lover for her. As the story continues, it begins to dawn on Fenella that her feelings for Din might actually match his, but her previous nomadic lifestyle of preservation has her pumping the brakes often. Her talent for telling tall tales for the bar patrons continues to be a rousing success making her feel valued as a member of the Gods community. But will Din’s love and her achievement of beloved bartender be enough for her to finally settle down? Meanwhile Kalagul brings troubling news of how the Doomer’s are really infiltrating troubled countries and causing more division and fear of wars. Kian realizes that he is on the back foot in fighting the Doomers and frustration sets in, causing him to reevaluate how the clan must go about fighting the hatred and disparity that is rampantly spreading in the Middle East. New plans to fight this rancor and push back against the Doomer’s spread of evil. Also, Kalagul has discovered a rare artifact while in Egypt and has rushed back to the village to show it to Annani. It is a carved replica of Annani herself! Attempting to determine the origin of the artifact Fenella, Jasmine and Kyra work together, combining their powers to see if finding the origin of the artifact will further their search for Annani’s true love Kian. The vision reveals the carver was Kian’s squire Esag, whom Kian sent with two others to try and find Wonder, then known as Gulan, who had run away when the Immortal she loved married another. Wonder’s leaving and Kian’s command for the three to go search for her had saved all their lives when the vast majority of the Gods were destroyed by Mordth’s bomb. With these new clues in hand an expedition begins to form up with Kalugal and Jacki along with Fenella, Jasmine and Kyra to head to Egypt to begin an earnest search for the surviving Gods, and most importantly Kian, Annani’s one true love.
So much i want to unpack or touch on. I hope I can recall everything.
Finella and Din- finding her place with him and in The Village, learning to trust in forever. Gosh, when she FINALLY opened up?? Mehn 🥹! That man is the picture of patience!
Love when old characters pop up and so celebrate Jackson! Remember his story? I remember being so emotional 😢 ( not hard to do, lol) when he was courting Tessa while trying to navigate her trauma! Almost makes me want to re-read those earlier books. Sigh ...
The closure between Max, Din & Fenella was felt and note worthy!
What is going on with these "enhanced" DOOMERS? And does anyone else feel like it's all a set it to get closer to the Clan and Village. Like STOP bringing them back! I've suspected a leak since the last rescue.
Speaking of, Kian's show of vulnerability spoke volumes!! Cooler heads always prevailed but will his change of tactics cause a divide in the clan?
Poor Annani, it's like two steps 🚶🏾♀️ fwd and three steps back in her search for her mate. She has spent more time searching for him than what she spent with him.
Can't wait to see what this new adventure and newcomer uncovers. How will Anador feel when he comes face to face with Wanders ex crush?
If you’re not already reading this series where have you been!?
What a series! If you haven’t read it yet immediately pick up book 1 Dark Stranger and get ready to dive into the world of gods, immortals, and aliens. This unique twist on the lore of the ancient Gods brings you into their fascinating modern world living secretly living among us. I wish for them to be are out there, that I.T. Lucas has received visions of their adventures that we are graced with monthly. I didn’t expect to enjoy Fanella and Din’s story so much because before their books I didn’t particularly like her all that much and Din was just some male spoken of. However their characters are properly developed and I found myself enthralled. With the plot thickening we are not stuck in the same cycle of a new couple/new book typical in these types of stories. I absolutely devour these books when released and immediately need the next, it is indeed my dark obsession.
𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Paranormal Romance, Age Gap, Fated Mates, Forced Proximity, Sci-Fi, Second Chance 𝗣𝗢𝗩: Multiple, both the main characters, secondary characters & previous main characters 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁: Ebook
The book count for this series may seem daunting since this is the 96th book, thankfully the way IT Lucas organizes the series is by having the books are set in 3-4 books in a mini-series that revolves around a main couple. There are often side characters & couples that you will see develop along side the main couple. The series does have an overarching storyline that continues through all the books so it is best to read them in order. These books are also told from the POV of multiple individuals, even many of the side characters or members of previous highlighted coupled. Each chapter clearly identifies who is telling their story so it is easy to follow.
This is the second book in Fenella and Din’s story, and I am loving the direction that it is going. We keep getting more clues as to what might have happened to the Clan Mother’s lost love and I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us!
Dark Rover’s gift (Children Of The Gods Book 96) by I T Lucas. Fenella’s work at the Hobbit is an instant hit. Kyra’s sisters want to open a shop in the village but when they go shopping they are recognised by a Revolutionary Guard. Max quickly subdues him and takes him for interrogation but this reveals a threat to Los Angeles that will kill thousands. This stopped by the Guardians but what will the interrogation reveal. Kalugal brings a present back from Egypt for Annani which maybe is another clue in the search for Khiann.
Finella is realizing that her relationship with Din is growing, and it excites and scares her due to her past. He finally gives her the gift he has had for her for years. Will it help in the search for Khiann? She feels flickers of her gift and wonders if it is aiding her powers. In another twist, a shopping trip with Kyra’s sisters turns into a new discovery that if not chanced upon could have ended in many casualties. Then Kalugal and Jackie discovered a find that has some intriguing implications. I cannot wait for more to be revealed in the next book.
Dark Rover’s Gift by I.T. Lucas Finella and Din are really beginning to solidify their relationship, and she is starting to find a feeling of belonging in the village. This gets deeper still when Atzil offers her a bartender job at the Hobbit bar, and she becomes the most popular entertainment by telling entertaining fortunes for the customers when they offer up a personal item. Suddenly, Fenella is the main attraction on a nightly basis at the Hobbit. The end leaves us with a mighty cliffhanger, one that makes me super anxious to dive into the next book.
I have always loved books about mythology but this put a new twist to it in the modern era. When I started reading her first book, it completely captivated me. I eagerly wait for each new book that comes out. This is book 96 in the series. I didn't think she would be able to keep bringing such diversified stories into this already greatly fleshed out world so seamlessly but she has done such an amazing job. I eagerly wait for each new book that comes out.
This book kind of reminded me of the earlier books with the threats to immortals and humanity, alike. This one is even better, though (IMHO),because we are getting more clues and hopefully getting closer to finding Khiann.
I'm still not crazy about the soap opera feel (there are 3 three storylinesthat we go back and forth between) and the political and religious views (I don't like it when reality intrudes on my fiction), but I've come this far... Will this series go over 100 books?
Dark Rovers Gift, Book 96 of the Children of the Gods series by Isabell Lucas @itlucas_author - You must read this series in order from book 1!
This is the second book about Fenella & Din that I absolutely adored! Possible Info on Annani’s mate Khiann whom has been lost for centuries. Eek! Tropes: Contemporary, Paranormal (Gods/Goddesses/Aliens), MF, Strong FMC, Second Chance, Slow Burn, Overall Storyline Arc For The Series, Possibility of Fated Mates & a Cliffhanger!
There Is a lot going on in this book. We see more of Fenella and Din's relationship progress. We also see a few side stories to round out this book. There is hope for Annani finding her lost love. Fears and prejudice are changing in the minds for some of the newer members to one of Hope. There may be even a romance for Arezoo. Overall, the book was fast-paced and really kept me interested until the end. Can't wait for the next book.
Finella's and Din's story continues in this book. This series is the best paranormal series I have ever read. After 96 books, I am still as engaged with the characters and action as ever. This latest has a wonderful love story and a huge twist that I never saw coming. These books are extremely well written and never boring. The characters are so alive and the stories are believable.
Hold on to your hats, we are gearing up for a doozy......
Fenella and Dins story really gets underway, I am really enjoying the Persian element and the fact that the doomers are back in contention as the primary evil, the plot here with the terror threat was really good and I like we are focussing on events in earth. Feels like a big build up, book 100 (!!!) just around the corner!!
This is one of if not the best series I’ve ever read, from book 1thru 96 holds your attention all the way through. Thank the fates I found this all ready at book 85. With each new characters introduced you never loose the older characters they all intertwine throughout the series. The author holds your interest and keeps you in suspense waiting to see what’s next. This would make a great tv series.
How could anyone reading this series not absolutely adore and love it? We've read 96 book in the series! .Hopefully it will go on 96 more. But I'm still going to complain about the fact that I'm always disappointed when the story ends, yet my page counter says there are still 29 pages left to read! There has got to be a way to make the summaries at the end of the book into a appendix or something.
Can't get enough of these immortals and Gods! Yet another amazing read 👏 I'm so happy how Fenella is growing and moving forward ❤️ And Arezoo? That girl needs to find an immortal and will it be the shy Ruvon? Can't wait to find out in the next book. So many more characters to get their HEA. And finally are we any close to finding the Clan Mothers truelove mate?! Have to come back and see Enjoy 😉
The formula for these books has gotten very old and very boring! There is literally nothing different from each three book story! Very few of the previous characters are rotated into the new story until you forget them entirely! The danger in this story was handled in literally ten pages rather than giving us actual suspense! The series needs a major shake up and not something that is in three books!
Dark Rover's Gift (The Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance book 96)
I think it is so awesome how Ms. Lucas has combined real world issues with modern world politics, and her story constructs, so well that you can almost believe it is real. The way all her characters interact with her latest immortals is seamless, and makes the storyline work so smoothly. I really love each book and I can't wait until I get to the next one in the series!
After the girls do a reading/seeing from Kalaguls latest find a beautiful statue of Annani, they know Esag was still alive. Kian plans to send a team to Egypt to uncover any new information on his mother's true love mate. But things closer to home go array wen doomers are encroaching on their terrority, & they plan on being the hunters rather than the hunted for a change!!
The series continues to draw closer to solving many of the biggest mysteries of the clan’s history, the plans of the Doomers and all the connections that happen along the way. This series is one of my all time favorites and I will be sad to see it end (hopefully not too soon!)
It seems almost like a few days ago that Kian and Syssi’s story started in book 1 and we gave as readers are now at Book 96 with Din and Fennel’s story. The mission continues with the dark vs light battles ultimately leading to a world classic confrontation but will light conquer dark or will the conflict be resolved by neither?
I. T. Lucas has a fantastic formula for superior storytelling. Her character development and ability to weave together new and established characters is very good. I wish, wish, wish I was just discovering this series so I wouldn’t have to wait so long for the next release. If you haven’t been following, start at the beginning. You are in for a treat!
I am forever entertained by this series. IT Lucas is such a talented writer - she never seems to get in a slump. Her creativity in keeping this series interesting, challenging and unpredictable, amazes me. I can’t believe that after almost 100 books, I’m still looking forward to where this story will go next! Please keep it up!
Dig more into Din and Fenella love story. Will she accept what the Fates have in store for her? Will the Doomers let bygones be bygones? What about Khiann, will more clues be discovered? Another great addition to the Dark series awaits your read...
Dark Rover's Gift, book 96 of The Children of the Gods series by I.T. Lucas gives us more insight go Din and Fenella's story. The Hobbit Bar is a great addition go the village. The laughter and companionship the villagers find there is heartwarming. Can't wait to see what is next.
This book seemed shorter with a lot of lessons learned! For all who feel at a loss, but really have what it takes to thrive. Love this entire body of work Brilliant!
This on going saga gets better with every Book! These characters have become part of your Family! New adventures, intriguing journeys, mind bogglingly battles!!!! Nothing is ever Run of the Mill. Heart's melt in the Author's Words!
I love Fenella and Din story. I don’t think I will ever get tired of this series. I can’t wait for the next one, and finally Khiann but especially Esag story. I reread Ananni and Kian story.
I've got to stop reading these so fast . Now I have to wait till the next one comes out . I will continue to read these stories till there are no more ! And then I will beg for more !
This chapter has many different reasons for the characters to interact with one another and the storyline was exciting and there were some great things about the characters that were brought out. One of the better ones
