Basic, basic, basic stuff... that you need to hear.

This short, short book is the tip of the iceberg on managing your finance... stuff your parents should have told you when you were ten years old. All that said, if they didn’t fill you in on those basic truths than the author does.

Short easy read

While I don't feel it's everything you need to know, I do feel it's everything you need to know to get started. But if you only do what this book suggests, you will be much better off than 95 percent of the world.

The strongest point made is that you should pay off high interest credit card debt before starting to save. This stops compounding from working against you in the opposite direction and frees up monthly cash flow to build saving faster.

It's great for anyone in debt or just starting out.

A starting point.

I wasn’t really expecting much detail in a book that’s less than 1000 words. You just can’t get into detail and cover several subjects. I think this book is a starting point. It gives you ideas of what you should do, but further research is needed on how to implement those ideas. If the author has similar books that cover each chapter, I would call it a great miniseries to personal finance.

Become a master of your finances in less than 10 minutes.

Well…that’s…a lot to live up to. And it (sorta) does.

Common sense, but definitely needs to be said anyway. Especially nowadays, when common sense doesn’t seem all that…common.

Five chapters: Spending; Saving; Make More Money; Investing; Make Life Simple.

Don’t concern yourself with tracking every penny you spend. You will get caught up in the minutia and forget to look at the big picture.

Live a rich life by spending extravagantly on the things you love, and cut costs mercilessly on the things you don’t.

Spending habits. Credit card advice. Shopping around. Tips on large expenditures.

Simplified budgeting. Consideration on purchases.

Very concise.

Plant your money tree now and enjoy the fruits when you are older.

Basic but with good information

Short and to the point. I found almost all of the information basic but that is because I have spent about 2 years actually trying to learn to manage my money as my income substantially increased. I'd recommend this book to complete novices who just need to know the basics and then take it from there

Too brief

The book mentions everything that need to be considered and done to manage finances. The theory behind expenses, saving and investing is mentioned systematically. But the content is too limited and novice. Some more light should have been shed over investing process or types of investments.

Perfect reminders for what we should do

This is a great beginners guide. It tells you what you need to know without the fluff. If you hate reading but want basic tips to help your finances read this book. Also unless they teach finance in school, this will be a great read for parents and teen child.

Short but concise

I like that it is a short read. What I don’t like is that it is very broad. I was waiting for specifics but it is clearly indicated that it is a 10 minute read. I highly recommend this book to read during those break times or you have a little wait for the next appointment.

A short read as advertised

While I did not count the words, this is a short read. It is a big picture look at managing finances. You might go yeah duh, I know that. However, the question Mr. Carlsen asks without asking is, if you know this and agree with me, why aren't you doing it. Sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest to implement.

Short and simple

This was a combination pep talk and the simplified version of how to make save and manage your finances. Is it everything? No. Is it a starting point to help those that don't know where to start? Yes. It is probably the most simple and painless read on finances. I really appreciated the sprinkles of motivation added in.

Where’s the fluff?

Zero fluff approach to starting smart, even if one’s previous years were spent not so smart. Simple concepts that have taken far longer in other books to cover. Cool.

Stay strong, stay simple

Everything you need to know comes down to common sense. The hard part is sticking with it. It's so easy to slip. Stay strong, start young, and you'll be fine in the end

Highly effective tl;dr

Short enough and provides enough solid value to not feel like a waste of time even if it isn't new information for you. The reminder is valuable in and of itself. I recommend it.

Got 10 Minutes?

It didn’t even take 10 minutes. Pretty good advise. Personally I do pay off my credit cards monthly and it s fine idea, if you can’t do that, stop spending money. Save for the future.

Introduction to personal finance

The books is written in such a manner that it is precise, to the point. The narrative is like a father to son conversation with quotes stated.
I would say it is an introduction to personal finance than everything about it.
