Moosopp (he/they) is the comic creator and illustrator behind Daybreak on WEBTOON and Sunshine Boy on Hiveworks. He loves cats and drawing. The youngest of three siblings raised by a single mother, they currently live in Canada.
I haven’t felt this happy since I read Heartstopper for the first time. Yes, I said first time. I consistently pick up Nick and Charlie’s story to get the giddy butterflies in your tummy feeling from utter queer joy. And now I have Marcus and Cog to bring me all the smiles and giggles and hair twirls and love I so crave.
What I adore about them both is not only that their love is so innocent and sweet, but their story is full of incredible representation. Cog uses he/they pronouns and Marcus wears a binder. Cog gives grumpy black cat vibes, while Marcus has golden retriever energy. Cog is neurodivergent and needs a moment during their first date, because they aren’t used to so much noise. These kinds of minor details make the overall narrative so much more realistic to what I myself deal with or see in the real world.
I will never get over the artwork of Daybreak. Moosopp brings Disney magic in their brush strokes and a bright beautiful world on every page. If my aesthetic could be seen in anything, it would be this book: Vibrant, colorful and it brings you happiness every second you spend time in it.
No matter how much I want to keep these characters to myself like a greedy little gnome, everyone needs to read this and see what actual queer joy looks like.

This low stakes/drama uncomplicated romance comic is perfect for fans of Heartstopper and Love Simon. However, even in those examples there's some sort of conflict and the only conflict in these two volumes have been the boys taking forever to confess to each other and then go on their first date. I love the vibrant art style and seeing the boys wearing their bonnets. Also the extended cast of characters being diverse is great, but no conflict is making this a story that I don't think I will want to return to.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!!
I just love them, your honor. Marcus and Cog fill me with happiness and my face always hurts from smiling when I see them together. They are so flipping cute! Cog is also so awkward and straightforward it’s hilarious to see him. And Marcus is just pretty and sweet. Literally not much happens here except their confession and the beginning of their relationship, but I eat it up. Give me these cuties forever!!
Thank you to Webtoon and NetGalley for the eGalley to review!
These two remain so freaking cute that I can't handle it sometimes. They're finally dating and it's going well as they learn more about the other and it's all just so sweet and realistic and wonderful. I cannot recommend this series enough if you're as much of a romantic sap like me, truly!!
Just like the first volume, it’s a very cute story of two awkward teens falling in love, but I gotta admit I don’t love Cog.. Marcus is adorable but I find their relationship a bit frustrating. Like someone pointed out, most of the story is just their internal monologue that doesn’t match their actions and you’re left wondering where the plot is supposed to be.
Marcus has a crush, and Cog is completely unprepared for the hijinks that follow. Hopefully, in their efforts to grow closer, they can brighten each other’s day.
It’s senior year and Marcus and Cog, two students from different friend groups, just started hanging out. Between Marcus making lunch for Cog, Cog walking Marcus home, and accidental paper-eating incidents, they start to see one another in a new light.
Over the course of movie nights and shopping trips, Marcus and Cog start spending even more time together over the winter break. So much so that everyone thinks that they’re boyfriends already. That might not be true…yet…but it might just be on the horizon.
This graphic novel is the definition of sweet and romantic. Cog is such a cute nerd and it's so obvious that Marcus is broken through to his heart. It's impossible not to smile through the entire book. Recommended with love. Publishing date Feb. 24, 2026

Daybreak Vol 2 was just as lovely as Vol 1! I was kicking my feet throughout watching Marcus and Toma's relationship blossom. It is so important for young people to see friendships and relationships that are healthy, sweet, and considerate! Moosopp's Art and storyline is just so enticing, and the characters are so wholesome! While I do think that not every teen is going to see themselves in Marcus, Toma, or their friends, I think that they will be able to relate to the feelings of young love, crushes, and wanting to be seen and heard. I look forward to seeing more from Moosopp and to gushing to me teens about Daybreak, I know a few I cannot wait to share this to!
Thank you NetGalley and Webtoon for this ARC in return for an honest review!
Thanks NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group | WEBTOON Unscrolled for the digital ARC for review.
This one was an easy 4.5 star read! I also enjoyed it more than volume 1!
I feel like I do not have a well written and thorough review prepared because the entire time I was reading this I was CRYING, SCREAMING, SQUEELING AND KICKING MY DANG FEET! This is ADORABLE. My little smiley, blushing, shy and sweet babies had my heart the entire volume.
THIS is how you do a fluffy romance graphic novel!
I didn't think this series could get any sweeter but volume 2 proved me wrong. I also didn't expect a confession to happen so soon, but I ain't complaining.
I seriously need more people to read this series because it is so damn sweet. With 2 BIPOC teens. Caog, I believe is nonbinary since they/he pronouns have been used for them. For Marcus, possibly rans since there was a scene involving binder shopping but we shall see.
But honestly, this is so damn sweet

I like what this webtoon series represents. We need more BIPOC LGBTQIA+ graphic novels in general (traditional novels too), but I just find their relationship so frustrating. It's mostly internal dialogue and it doesn't match their actions and it's back and forth on that with misunderstandings and I just wasn't into it.
Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and amazing creater of this comic to allow me to get an Arc!
I got an arc of volume one and absolutely loved it. I knew when I seen the second volume I absolutely had to get my eyeballs onto the glorious pages, and that I did. The art is just as stunning, the characters just as lovely. The ending was so sweet. I can't wait to see what becomes of them!
Representation: trans gay Buddhist Black protagonist, queer non-binary autistic Black protagonist, queer Asian secondary character, Black tertiary characters, queer Asian tertiary character, Muslim tertiary character with vitiligo, tertiary character of colour with heterochromia, tertiary characters of colour.
The awkward teenage romance continues in this book. Even though the progress is slow, they finally get together in this installment. Their relationship is definitely awkward at times, but it feels realistic for teenagers. It’s all new to them, and they’re still learning not only about themselves but now about each other as well.
I think I am going to continue reading this on webtoon. I am really enjoying it but I feel like now that I've read the two volumes they feel stilted a little bit. I don't know if they just need to be longer or if the story just has a slow start but I am invested and I want to keep reading.
I thought this story was so adorable and sweet. It’s very cozy and I would say it truly is such a feel good and happy story. I’m currently if there will be a Vol. 3 if so I’ll definitely be reading it!
I’ll never get tired of these two. This is adorable, funny, and reflective. I can tell the stakes are getting higher, and I’m looking forward to it even though I want them to be together forever with zero problems.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
