What even is this? Lol lol lol and who is ever going to buy it? Totally absurd and I’m not even mad about it. It’s cringey, earnest, weirdly sexy, goofy and some how it works.
No one is making these recipes, they’re way too complicated, but the photos are gorgeous and super stylized, and the Donut Daddy is hot, but what’s with the 1990s International Male outfits?
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an early look.
I clearly need to get out more. I'd never heard of Donut Daddy. Of course I'm not Australian and I don't Tik or Tok (sorry to my teen).
But, lord, this man mixes hot with funny and whew!
The writing is incredibly suggestive in a very fun way. There *are* recipes (I promise), but you might find yourself distracted by the innuendos. It did make me laugh when I realized that, in a couple of recipes, the author seemed to have forgotten he was also supposed to be titillating and just gave us some straight recipes. Not to worry, though...he got back to it.
The recipes themselves are craveable and seem soooo delicious. I've tried two so far and they were easy enough to follow once I managed to ignore the innuendos. (I would caution that it is sometimes hard to get past the throbbing and massaging and whatever else to the actual instructions.)
Definitely fun and I'd absolutely buy this as a bridal shower gift to a bride (or groom) who loves to cook.
Oh...and the pictures are PG, but the imagination makes them R (especially some suggestive poses).
I do think our guy needs a shirt because hot oil meets chest seems like a bad idea.
Holy hotness, this book was a full sensory experience! It was like a cross between one of those sexy ASMR videos, a dessert bible, and a smutty romance novel. Anthony Randello-Jahn knew exactly what he was doing when he made this. This is for the girls, the gays, and the sweet-toothed romantics who just want to be seduced by a donut (and a hot dude with said donut).
Even the photos are sexy. Like, give me a man holding a donut or sweet dessert bread in a very erotic, suggestive way and I am SOLD. I’m not saying I blushed flipping through this, but I definitely did.
But here’s the thing: it’s not just for the thirst. These recipes are legit. From indulgent pastries to gluten-free options, from “pleasure bombs” (yes, really) to protein donuts, this cookbook delivers. I’ve already got my sights set on the Naughty Hazelnut Cocoa Pizza because my husband is a sucker for hazelnut mochas, and honestly, this feels like the perfect dessert and date night plan.
The writing is witty, playful, and a little bit filthy in the best way possible. Every section oozes with personality, like you’re being personally guided through your kitchen sins by a charming, flour-dusted seducer. It’s indulgent, inclusive, and just plain fun.
If you’ve ever wanted to mix a little bit of heat into your baking (literally and figuratively), The Donut Daddy Cookbook is the only foreplay you need. 🍩💦
Thank you to NetGalley, Anthony Randello-Jahn, and Ten Speed Press for the eARC of this book.

🍩🔥 The Donut Daddy Cookbook by Anthony Randello‑Jahn 🔥🍩 Some cookbooks teach. Some inspire. And then there’s The Donut Daddy Cookbook—a full‑on flirtation that struts into your kitchen, winks over its shoulder, and dares you not to blush. From the moment I read the description, I knew-knew it in my romance-reader heart- that I needed this book immediately. Any romance reader—historical, paranormal, spicy, sweet, or somewhere deliciously in between—would be absolutely unhinged not to grab it. This book was so fun and so unexpected, and it leans into its theme with the confidence of a hero who knows exactly what he’s doing. Anthony Randello‑Jahn, our Donut Daddy himself, blends sensuality with pastry magic in a way that feels like a love letter to indulgence. It grabs you like flirtatious wink across a crowded bakery. His writing is playful, flirty, and just the right amount of sexy—like a rom‑com montage where the dough kneading is suspiciously steamy and the camera lingers a little too long on the glaze drizzle. Every recipe opens with a cheeky, tongue‑in‑cheek headnote that grabs you instantly. Then he gives you detailed ingredients and step‑by‑step instructions that even a novice like me can follow to create passionate, swoon‑worthy treats. And before you dive into the good stuff, he sets you up with the basics and equipment you’ll need—like a very attentive love interest making sure you’re ready for the adventure ahead. And the photos? 🔥🍩 Let’s just say they’re delicious. Oh yes—the ones of the food too. I found instant favorites like “Soufflés So Good, You’ll Call Me Daddy” and “Strawberry Tiramisu Temptation Donuts.” And with 69 recipes—yes, he absolutely knows what he’s doing with that number—you’re guaranteed to find something that hits the spot. This cookbook is a seductive treat from start to finish. It’s perfect for your next romance‑novel book club night, a themed date night, or for keeping all to yourself when you want a little extra sweetness (and maybe a little extra heat) in your life. This book is perfect for any lover of swoony stories, spicy banter and decadent desserts. So if you’re a romance reader who is ready to flirt with your baking skills, indulge your senses and bring a little book-boyfriend energy into your kitchen then step into the world of the Donut Daddy. Your taste buds—and your TBR‑loving heart—will be very, very satisfied.
Overall Excitement & First Impressions My foodie soul is soaring! Omg omg omg omg omg !!! I am a fan for one of the hottest cooks online right now!!! Not only is he scorching but he can cook! I am trying his recipes! I will try his recipes even when I'm gray and old. The book is full with passion, usefulness, cooking tips and tricks, and hot photos. As a baker I really appreciate all the useful information there. I learned some stuff.
Author Appeal (The Donut Daddy Himself) First, I didn't know he is Australian. This not only adds to his absolute hotness, but .. his accent... Damn... I'm speechless! I want to catch the next plane to Australia. For business purposes, you see. I want to be naughty, daddy, give me the cups and spoons measurements. I’m a married woman daddy, have mercy on me. I haven't blushed this hard in a while!!!! (Especially that section on how to fill a donut. Here, I went outside in the open to read.) I love how the author talked about himself and his experience.
Content & Recipes Now I know how to make my favorite Boston cream donuts!!!! My boys will love them so far, daddy, thanks!!! There's recipes for the gluten people. I have all the DD secret arsenals except for guitar sheets. I need that. If he tells me I will get it.
Practical & Beginner-Friendly Aspects But now, let's be serious. The book is written great! As a baker and a European I really appreciate the different measurements. It is a great first book for beginner bakers and perfect for experienced bakers too. The playful innuendos are hilarious, but might not be everyone's cup of tea. I wish all cookbooks were like that sexy.
Grab it if you want baking with passion and a wink! 😏🍩
Look, did I request an advanced reader copy of this book because I’m mad for doughnuts? No. Do I even particularly like doughnuts? No. You know why I requested it, we all know why I requested it.
I’m gonna be honest here, I find Anthony Randello-Jahn utterly charming. He seems to have enough of a sense of humor to lean into this book being both extremely easy on the eyes and full of cheeky double entendres. In all seriousness, it is a fascinating read with good culinary tips - I really did read the book!
Now, if you aren’t familiar with his particular brand of smoke show cooking videos on social media, do yourself a favor, look up a few before you read it, the humor and spirit of the book is bound to make more sense. I wouldn’t have minded reading this without prior knowledge of his videos but I’ve enjoyed those for a long while and I sought this book out when I saw it was out there. It’s a romp through gorgeous visuals (of food and y’know… Anthony in mesh shirts or ::gasp!:: no shirt), descriptions of recipes in saucy little intros, and genuinely good sounding recipes - I mean, “Cardamom and Chaos Ice Cream”, “Sweet Sin Crullers”, “French Kiss Toasts”?!
I love a themed cookbook with great (food) photography, it was a very fun read! Thank you, Anthony Randello-Jahn, Ten-Speed Press, and NetGalley! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go study some uh… doughnut recipes…
This.cookbook is easy to follow and has a really great collection of recipes. I like that we get from simple to elegant options to make and share with our family and friends. I am a chocolate lover so I especially appreciate the Chocolate Bliss Bombs, Chocolate Bar None, the Eclairs, and the Chocolate Cheesecake Seduction.. I love the little seduction quips and notes peppered in with the recipes. There are.clear instructions and a legend of terms, etc, that help make following directions easy. I am pleased.to see recipes for the simple creams and syrups used, available in the back of the book. Seeing the fruit options like Black Raspberry Rendezvous Truffles and Tuxedo Strawberries gives the feeling that we have some healthy options. The breakfast iyems sound yummy and I can't wait to make the Cloud 9 Ricotta Pancakes, French Kiss Toasts and the Sinfully Sweet Double Chocolate Waffles. Lastly, the photos include are tasteful and absolutely inspiring. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a copy. The opinions here are my own.

I received an ARC of from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I already knew of Donut Daddy but mainly from other accounts making satire but I did know of the account and have gone down a rabbit hole having a look once in a while (teehee).
The number of recipes - guess how many ;) - really works, it feels like just the right amount and the pictures really make it deliciousssssss, yummy, every possible descriptor out there.
I really do love that the recipes are legit, it makes it a worthwhile purchase for that special someone who needs it. It's really witty and well done in a suggestive but classy way - huge praise to the publishers for getting that balance bang on!
I need to come back to how amazing the photography is - it's incredible, if I could reach through the page I for sure would.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a sneak peak to this very unique cookbook. I want to start off by saying I do not follow this creator on TikTok or any type of social media platform. I went into this blind with an open mind since I enjoy desserts. I do believe this is a decent cookbook but not one for the beginner. Baking is such a science and some of these recipes have parts of them that is implied to a cook that has made a few complicated desserts. Overall it’s not a bad gimmick type of cookbook and I did enjoy the creativity of some of the desserts along with them being gluten-free options.
"In The Donut Daddy Cookbook, Anthony blends sensuality with visually stunning gastronomy, showcasing the true beauty and sinful complexity of desserts across 69 alluring recipes."
Oh brother. I guess I just got distracted by the cringe attempts at being SEXXAY to actually give this book a real good look. It's hard to read a book when you're rolling your eyes so hard you see your brain.
This will appeal to some people, just not me, unfortunately.
I received a free ebook copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
Netgalley ARC-I can't believe someone gave this guy money to make this cookbook. I need a shower after reading. Not because it was steamy, but because I may have puked on myself from rolling my eyes and cringing at his attempts to be sexy and the obvious porn poses in some of the photos. The recipes are pretty basic but given sexy names. Unfortunately, the directions need some editing as they are overly complicated. The color chosen for the print leaves something to be desired as well. Not sure who will buy this one but it's not me.
Oh boy, do I love Donuts! This cookbook is such a fun way to share recipes for everyone's favorite breakfast pastry. Included in this book are some hot recipes…and abs! Decadent desserts and elevated flavor profiles aplenty! Some are a little advanced, so be ready for a challenge here and there, but well worth the results! Your family and friends will thank you, if you’re willing to share!
Thank you to NetGalley and Anthony Randello-Jahn for the ARC!
Not exactly something I would buy for myself, could see giving as a bridal shower or a friend’s birthday. ARC provided by Netgalley for a honest review.
So far it would be rated a 4.5⭐ - my first recipe I made from it was the Gluten Free Blueberry Bliss and Lemon Donuts with plans to make more from it. I will say they were delicious and didn't take a long time to prepare or bake So like any other cookbook I review, I have tried out recipe(s) from it.
As you could predict from the cover the images go for a sort of sensual vibe with trying to showcase the food, which for me wasn't an issue and honestly the recipes looked delicious.
After reviewing the recipes, the ingredients were ones you either probably already had on hand or easy to get- a huge plus in my opinion. Recipes easy to follow and personally not too complicated. Although if you're just getting into cooking/baking or don't do it much, maybe it would feel like a lot I'm not entirely sure since I enjoy it.
-more than just donut recipes - I would say the only thing is that some of the steps it would have been nice to have them separated a bit because while preparing had to keep finding my spot where I left off. Which resulted in having to reread the steps to make sure I didn't miss one.
I was not aware that Donut Daddy was a TikTok thing and so my first thought for this book was "Why no shirt". It was a fun take on a cookbook. The recipes looked good and it was very tongue in cheek. But I am not sure how many of the recipes I could make on my own.
