One girl. One camp for delinquents. One hell of a summer.
Falice Winters has always been the goody-two shoes. Her twin Arabelle . . . not so much. So what happens when their dad plans to ship Arabelle off to a camp to clean up her act? Well, naturally, Arabelle would find a way out.
Her solution? Falice! It was a simple plan: Falice would pretend to be Arabelle and go to the delinquent camp while Arabelle got to have the time of her life with her boyfriend in London.
Falice thought her summer was going to consist of sitting on the couch reading novels all day or hanging out with her friends. Never did it cross her mind that she would be pretending to be her sister in a camp of delinquents. But now she’s stuck at a camp all summer where being rude is the new “in.”
And everything turns for the worse when someone figures out her secret.
Will Falice survive the summer? Or will everyone learn that she’s faking delinquency?
Ashley Winters, twenty, is currently attending the University of Maine at Farmington and majoring in creative writing. Most of her time is spent writing or thinking about writing, and the rest is spent reading or fangirling about people who don’t actually exist. She loves God, her family, her friends, many, many fictional people, and pretty much anyone who makes a pun.
Faking Delinquency is definitely a breath of fresh air. From the basic plot line it seems like this book should be bogged down with the cliche. But Ashley writes in such an original and graceful way that the entire story reads like something new. The characters are fantastic, you can't help but be attached to them, and by the time camp is over you're desperate to still continue with them on further journeys.
Cliché story indeed! Good girl falls for bad guy. But Miss Goody pretending as delinquent and pull up some serious prank like bald a girl is makes this book to fun for read! Will and Falice are adorable with their pinky promises! And not to mention Ty who can perfectly suit as Louis.T. He is something else :)
I first read this book a year or two ago on Wattpad. And then I read it again. And again. I'm usually not huge on teen fiction, but dang, this book is good. Winters writes in such an original, broad format. She kept me interested throughout the whole novel. The characters were typically believable. Although I originally thought it would be just another cliché teenage love story, it actually had a very refreshing plot. It was infused with humor, heartbreak, and coming-of-age archetypes. I really sympathized with the characters. I definitely recommend this book!
I had much higher expectations for this one. it was nice, predictable read. Everybody was very nice, very supportive, and nothing really big or shocking ever happened. I think the idea of this book was great but the book itself not so much.
Sadly, the writing is too amateurish. The author seems to be an 18-year-old though. So, that does make things much better. But, I hope the next one she writes makes more of an impact.
Wow. That's all I can say. This is honestly the best Wattpad book I've read, right up there with some of the ones that have already been published(like this one is soon to be!) Yay!! *does a happy dance* I'm a huge fan of Ashley's work and have actually been following this story since it first came out on Wattpad, and I'm so ecstatic that it's getting published! I know I will definitely been picking up a paperback version AND a kindle version if possible. The characters: What can I say, I loved Falice. The way that Ashley made her come out of her shell and start to act a little more like Arabelle, was just amazing. And Will? *swoon* He and Falarabelle (teehee!) are just such an amazing couple and are forever to be my OTP, like Percabeth and a whole bunch of other couples that I can't even begin to list. Anyways, I'll stop with all the gifs... Calm......... Think calm, Lia, think calm. So yeah, basically, I LOVE Falice and Will and pinky promises and just how darn adorable they are. Ashley Winters, you are an amazing author and deserve every bit of success that you get. 5/5 stars! Whoop whoop! xoxo Lia
Okay, so if yall like this you need to check out https://thebookgeekssite.wordpress.com/ When I first read this book it was on Wattpadd! I recently found out that it has actually been published as a paperback shortly after I finished reading it. Therefore, most of the chapters are off of Wattpadd now.
Plot Review: SOOOOOO, I thought Faking Delinquency was a pretty good book. It follows this good girl Falice as she takes the place of her sister Arabella. Arabella was getting ready to be sent of to a delinquency camp, but somehow she managed to convince Falice into taking her place. (I would never do that, and I would hope my sibling would never ask that of me.) That’s just about the only thing I DIDN’T like about this book! The good things outweigh the bad in this case. While Faking Delinquency, Falice meets three people and for the life of me I can’t remember what they’re names are but they’re important! They all have a reason that they come back to the camp over and over. Their stories are really sappy or kind of sad. Anyway, Falice goes in disguise as her sister, but almost the day she gets to the camp she’s found out by a super hot guy! He kind of holds it over her head, but he actually helps her more than anything. They also pull parent trap pranks on the other kids at the camp! I LOVED it! The ending of the book is something that you will see coming from a mile away, but if you don’t mind it then you should really go check it out!
MY RATING? 8.5/10
Recommended? Ah, only if you don’t mind knowing what’s going to happen before it happens.
ANOTHER GEM FROM ASHLEY WINTERS! Every author has something that sets them apart, this girl's books are all amazing. She creates real, compelling characters, character development, beautiful relationships, and a story that will be reread for generations. In this particular story, we see a bond between two sisters that is truly beautiful; one takes the punishment so the other can enjoy her summer. Falice develops from a (wimpy) passive young lady to a passionate teenage girl not to be messed with. Over the summer we see a slow brewing romance, sweet moments, and relatable occurrences (namely: the peanut butter addiction) I especially appreciate how real this all is. SPOILER: Will's home life.. :( END SPOILER This book deserves to be a New York Times bestseller, I cannot wait to see it on the big screen!
This book was so amazing I a sad that some of it was taken down from Wattpad but I cannot wait for the book to come out so I can buy it and read it a million times more!! This is one of the best books I have ever read! When I read the description I didn't think is was going to be so amazing I just needed a book to read but thank goodness I did because it was so amazing!! I have recommended this to so many friends and they all loved it as well! The plot line is so amazing and when I get the book I will just go through and re-read all the amazing parts of it again. (All of the book) This is a book I would read until the day I forget how to read. But seriously read it when it comes out. I loved it and I know you will. Definitely in my top 5!
I love Faking Delinquency! It's one of my favorite books to read!! The book itself is all around engaging with the most cliche ways. The way humor comes into play makes this story ten times better! I love how the main character is a twin, making it more unique than it already is! I am a twin myself, and I got to say that the author really does a great job in capturing the bond these two twins have. The way Falice is the complete opposite of her twin makes known that twins are not all the same in personality. I love how Falice makes friends really fast and pushes herself to become stronger in each chapter of the story. Overall, this is an amazing book that every teen and beyond age must read!!!
This is most definitely the most perfect book anyone will ever read, I kid you not. If you're having a bad day, the story of Will and Falice will brighten up your mood without any effort! The things their group gets up to will leave with stitches on your sides because of hysterical laughing and you'll start believing in the authenticity of pinky promises if you didn't before. Most of all Faking Delinquency will have you squealing and smiling like crazy at the moments between the two protagonists. Needless to say Will and Falice are at the top of my OTP list now. I hope that whoever reads this book experiences the same emotions I went through while reading it and can depend on it to cheer them up.
Basically, this book is amazing. I couldn't stop reading if my life depended on it. I flew through this book, it was entertaining and so many twists and turns I didn't see coming. Even though it sounds like an extremely cliché book, Ashley Winters takes her own spin on it making it completely original and hilarious in its own way with incredibly vivid characters. The blooming romance is so different than any other one written in books, it has a subtle build up and so realistic that it was extremely refreshing. I recommend everyone to read it because it's hilarious, unique, has absolutely adorable fangirl-worthy romances, and amazing character development. It's simply awesome.
One of my favorite works of her not only because of the plot but the way she sells her characters. It's impossible not to fall in love with Falice and Will. Their story seems typical to Wattpad readers but the delivery is far from it. From sibling problems to family, it has a bit of everything. Multiple times you find yourself relating to a event or feel like Falice herself. This is a journey that leads to self-realization and appraisal. One is always quick to judge but this book shows that there is a misunderstanding between the misunderstood. Not everyone is a delinquent.
I really loved this book. It was one of the first books I read on Wattpad and it stuck with me. I have reread this book countless times and the characters are all memorable. I want to purchase this book, to support the author, Ashley Winters, because she is a truly talented writer. I recommend this book to anyone who loves cliches, with a little twist, and for anyone who loves a good romance. I'm very happy that this author was published because her work needs to be spread cause her writing style is memorable and unique.
When I first found Faking Delinquency on Wattpad, I was like "meh". Based on the synopsis, the story seemed basic and cliché but I added it to my library, thinking the book would be a light and entertaining read. It was definitely a great read. The thing about Ashley Winters is that she has a talent for capturing the readers' hearts or with her characters. Will, Falice, Vanessa (oh my goodness, I love Vanessa), Arabelle and Ky were all such lovely people to read about - they were all so likeable.
Faking Delinquency is one of the best books I've ever read. Throughout the book, my eyes sparkled with anticipation of what was going to happen next. I would recommend it to the whole world if I could and it's definitely one of the books worth reading. I would surely buy it if possible and I'm sure this book can become a bestseller soon! Good luck to the author and wish you the best! Happy reading everyone!
I have loved this book every single time I read it. I thought the plot was excellent, surprising, and original, but also showed Falice's development as a person, where she starts to emerge as someone that she felt she needed to be. I found it surprisingly deep, with complex characters, but also lines that never failed to keep me laughing. This was one I thoroughly enjoyed and the published version is even better than the Wattpad one!
Faking Delinquency is a light-hearted and fun read for anyone who's having a bad day. The cuteness in this book would instantly make you smile. As characters, Will and Falice are definitely a bit cliche but are nonetheless still really distinct among the others.
I've read this a few times already whenever I'm in need of something hopeful and warm.
This book is definitely worth the read and hopefully gain more audience after its publication.
This book is about two twin sisters, one is delinquent (Arabelle) and one isn't (Falice). Mr. McAtee has had enough with Arabelle's ways so he decides to send her to a delinquent camp. What will happen when Falice goes to camp in Arebelle's place? I recommend this book, because it gave me butterflies in my stomach when I read it and to me when I get butterflies while reading a book it tells me that I like it and overall it was a good story.
This is a book that I have always been coming back to. Whether in the mood for a light hearted comedy or a witty drama packed plot I know I can pick this book up and fall entranced in Falice's world. The plot at first glance may seem adorably cliche but contains a deeper theme in finding your inner power to stand up for yourself.
Faking Delinquency is absolutely entertaining and will constantly leave you wanting to read more and more, never wanting to stop. There is a little bit of everything from adventures, comedy, romance, to rebellion. Your imagination is what will spice up the story and this story is so creative in so many aspects, you HAVE to read it!
Faking Delinquency might just be one of my favourite books ever! I read half of the book when it was on wattpad but then I could not finish reading it due to her being published and having to takemost of it down. I still want to read this book so badly, it's one of those books that you could read again and again and never get tired of!
This book definitely deserved the 5 stars. I read this book long ago on wattpad and it was brilliant. It was the best book I've ever read that was currently unpublished. Then, I read it a total of 3 more times, and fell in love with it even more. I am absolutely getting this book and adding it to my bookshelf. Love it!
i’m gonna be honest, i loved this book so much when i was younger and read it on wattpad. i even bought a physical copy once it was published into a book. now that i’m older, it’s not as good as i remember, but i’ll give it three stars because it has a special place in my heart and gives me a wonderfully nostalgic feeling.
It's one of those feel good books that leaves you all fuzzy inside. Cute and heartwarming would be the best ways to describe it. Will is one of the best book boyfriends out there, without a doubt! Definitely a must read!
This is so far one of my favourite books I have read to this date. This book makes me feel so many emotions and you will definitely will enjoy this book and wont regret reading it. Definitely cliché and if you like reading cliché books like me, this book is definitely a must-have.
I loved this book, one of my favorites. It might have its cliches, but I haven't read anything quite like it. It has its own uniques and kept me turning the pages. The author is amazing and I'm so glad this gets to be published! Falice and Will are unforgettable characters.
I absolutely love this book. This is one of the best books I have ever read and I am very excited to see this book going far. I am inspired by this book. I give a giant Thank You to the author for writing this. I hope I can write a book as good as this one day and it will go very far.
