Hagy tells this story with both investigative depth and emotional sensitivity. She has brought meticulous research to this project, and the result is an edge-of-seat tale told with honor for the victims and a somber, unsensationalized look at cold cases that have haunted the western Kentucky region for decades. It leaves us with as many questions as answers, which is how it had to be. I loved reading this one and look forward to her next book.

Calvert City is just a stone's throw up the road, so of course I had to know about this case. Ina Mae Solomon was murdered in 1966, shortly after that another woman, Judy Whitby Greenup disappears and her employer, A.B. Long is murdered. The chain of events stirred up the small town and left more questions than answers. This book by investigative journalist Kelly Hagy, attempts to answer some of those questions.

I read a lot of true crime books, and this one is written as well as many of them. It is easy to see that much time and research went into writing this book. I believe the author found connections to several crimes that also occurred during this time that had not been previously detected. I am interested to see what she decides to write about next.

As a retired sheriff’s detective, I had always heard bits and pieces about this case but was never involved in the investigation. This was extremely interesting and well written.

Captivating and thought provoking read.

Once I started I couldn't stop! I enjoyed this book and am sad that the case may never be solved. Wonderful and thorough investigative journalism, looking forward to reading more works by this author!
