Kory McCallister has had her eyes on tattoo artist Stone Bowman for quite some time—so long, in fact, that no other guy will do. Stone pushes every turn on button Kory has—he’s tattooed from head to toe; he’s hot; he’s funny and charming; and he’s also mysterious. So when Kory’s friends dare her to ask Stone out on a date, she can’t believe she actually finds the guts to do it.
More surprising? He takes her up on the offer.
She discovers that, while his past might not be quite as dark or mysterious as she’d imagined, it’s bigger than she’d expected, and it’s something she will need to contend with if she decides she wants to keep him around to color her life for good.

Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed was a book I thought would be fun, I have enjoyed the author's work in the past so I basically went in without doing homework. While the story line is short and sweet the mood is gray. This is a story about Kory, a tortured soul who meets her kindred spirit, one who can help her heal and move on to a better life. It's hard because as sad as the subject was, I couldn't connect to it or to the MC's, it didn't spark any strong emotion out of me. This was just an okay read for me but shouldn't reflect on the author's style, I will still continue to read her work, it was just this story that wasn't for me.

The lesson I learned is stop buying books based on covers and stop buying everything amazon recommends. Damn you Amazon!
So, I feel as though I shouldn't really rate this book since I only read more than half but hey I gave it more than several hours of my life, hours I will never get back so it's my right to rate it and review it!
Let me start with I was extremely excited about starting this one and BAM! it fell so short..
Kory is 20, she lives with her two roomates, she lived in foster care most of her childhood, and she has been visiting a tattoo parlor for the past two years because she has the hots for the guy that own it. Now, she doesn't have any tattoos, and she has a needle phobia but she lets him pierce her face every couple of months just so she can get a glimse of him.
I don't know if that is sweet or just fucking creepy, creepy more like it. Through the first half that I read I have no idea what Kory looks like, her clothes are not tight but not baggy, she wears heavy black eyeliner but thinks it's okay because she adds some shimmery eyeshadow. How fucking weird is the fact that I remember this rubbish but have no clue on what she looks like. So, the tattoo parlow owner is 28, filled with a hot body marked with tats and is weird in a weird way too.
The thing is she keeps getting shit pierced to her face because she isn't comfortable with a nipple piercing or anything else. She is scared of a tattoo gun but has no problems with huge long needles. She finally asks him out on a date..and this is how the book continued...
one date..I'll call you.. couple of days later, he takes for ice cream... she is in school... she has another date.
This book was SO BORING, I'm surprised I made it to half of it! Now I probably won't read the rest of the series since I know what to expect. Sorry :(

5 AMAZING TATTED UP STARS!!
**This can be read as a stand alone, but it is a companion to the Tangled Web series.**
Kory has been getting pierced for years at Iron Maiden. When she first went there she didn't know what to expect, it certainly wasn't Stone Bowman. He was the sexy tattoo artist at the shop that did her piercings. Stone Bowman was her ideal man, he was sweet, sexy and covered in tattoos. After two years and multiple piercings Kory finally asks Stone out. Stone accepts surprising her. Can the monsters hiding under her bed come between what could be? Can Stone get her to see the real him?
"You are most than your past."
Everyone has a past, some are all butterflies and rainbows, some are dark and scary and that's where the monsters hide. This is a story of healing. Exploring that past and overcoming. Stone and Kory are meant for each other. Kory needs his strength and understand and Stone needs her to see the real version of himself. Stone isn't the typical bad boy, he has the look but he is sweet and caring. Kory's tough, tougher than you'd expect her to be. Them together just works.
Nice idea but just fell short. I had to speed read most of it, so I wouldn't fall asleep. Kory was a whole bunch of blah. Stone was a little better. That epilogue...really that's what she decides to do with her life ().
Well Jade I'm going to hand these 5 Stars over to you...i had a blast with Kory & Stone...What an awesome adventure...when i get a chance i will be definitely be reading more of your books in the future...take care and enjoy!
I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.
I am a huge fan of Jade's....like prolly crazy stalker girl fan. So when Jade says she has a new book....TBR ASAP. When she asked me to read this one, i was stoked!! I mean hottie tattooed man..yes please!! But if you are a fan of her books, you might notice something different about this book. The vibe is a little different but it is an awesome different. The story line is really deep and intense. Stone has had a rough life but Kory is such a strong woman and her life is a MESSSSSSSS. To have gone though everything she did and be "normal" is a testiment to human survival.
So Kory is a young woman who is struggling to survive but doing it on her own. She has been going to the same tat shop for 2 years because she has a little crush on the tat shop worker Stone. He also is the guy who she trusts with piercing her. Well on a dare from her friends she asks him out. He says "do you know who I am?" Which is kinda a weird statement right??? Kory is like "Tat dude?" and so they go out.....we find out after the very first sleep over that Stone has some secrets...and boy are they big. But he asks Kory to trust him and not dig into his past. When he is ready he will spill. Kory, the queen of secrets, agrees to not google him to find out his story because she is trying to hide her story. Man, when she spills part of her story, it was tough and intense but Stone was there to comfort her. The two are bonding *snickers* in more way then one and come to lean on each other through the hards times.
Well Kory is accidently told Stones secret and Stone is on freak out mode. He is so hopeful everythig is alright because Kory is defo an important person to him. But even crazier is when Kory spills her entire story.....OMG. The two are so right for each other and complete the other totally. She gives him the grounded woman he was do desperate for and he gives her the untimate loving relationship full of trust that she has been in desperate need for.

OK, so this is a companion novel to Jade C. Jamison's TANGLED WEB series and at first, I was not going to request it from NetGalley because I hadn't read anything by the author let alone the series itself. Why did I do it anyways? The cover, of course! And I'm glad that I did.
From the title alone, you know that there's going to be some darkness or tortured aspect to the story ... 'punctured, bruised' are trigger words that scream dark romance to me. This wasn't a dark romance by any means, but both our leads are most definitely 'punctured and bruised'. Kory McCallister is a young girl in college with no real vision for her future except one, Stone Bowman. I'm not gonna lie and tell you that you'll be hooked from page one, because you won't. It will take a few chapters, maybe less, but once you get into the story, you'll be hooked and won't put it down. The story isn't overly long so its easy to get lost in it for a couple of hours. And because the story is not overly complicated or full of angst and heartache, its really easy to read. It's just not a pause and read later type of story. Both Kory and Stone where true to life and very real characters that you can easily relate to. BUT, as much as I enjoyed this story and its writing, Jade C. Jamison didn't make me feel her characters. I read her words and I understood her characters and the story went full circle and they were very well defined, but i didn't FEEL them. And that's really a shame because that one little thing in the style of writing, is what could have made this story explosive. It's good and I recommended it, but it could have been so much more!
This book was surprisingly easy to fall into. Before you know it, you've read fourteen chapters and you have to make yourself put down the book and accomplish something. The author did a fantastic job creating realistic characters- people you can easily picture in your everyday life. The plot flowed with ease and I loved it!
The main character Kory is young and in college studying to become a business major. To say she is obsessed with the local tattoo artist Stone, is a mild understatement! To feed her obsession (and maybe the darkness within herself) and to feel his hands on her, she continues to get piercings from him, even though she is deathly scared of needles. Although Kory is young, she has witness and experienced more than most people- including abuse, starvation, and horrific fear. The more time and the more involved Kory gets with Stone, the more secrets from her past begin to unwind. Everything she thought she got over is now resurfacing with a vengeance. But Lucky for her, Stone is there to help.
Again this book was a great read! The book felt real, the plot wasn't to far fetched.
The final book in the Tangled Web series (so far, anyway) is very different from the other two. It’s not until halfway through the story that the reader finds out how these characters, Kory and Stone, connect with the others. Of course, they’re in Winchester, but there’s more to it than that.
This one is told from Kory’s POV and she never really knows how Stone feels about her. Her insecurities and baggage get in the way. Stone is surprisingly warm, affectionate, intuitive, and loving. And unlike most romances, in which a misunderstanding or outside forces conspire to keep the characters apart, the distance between Kory and Stone is the one she imposes, albeit unintentionally. The thing is, Kory needs to come to terms with the sexual abuse she experienced as a child, and Stone is the exact right person to help her do that.
It’s never easy to read about abuse, but Jade Jamison handles it with care while being straightforward and avoiding unnecessary details. She conveys the severity of it without becoming maudlin and she tackles the themes of safety and trust in a way that conveys understanding and compassion. Both Stone and Kory hide secrets and as they grow in trust for one another, their sense of safety grows and they share the things they cannot share with anyone else.
The book actually made me laugh a few times. First, when describing where the counselor’s office was located, the narrator said it was “next to a bank and in the same building the driver’s license people were in.” I think most people call that the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles). Ha!
The other part that made me laugh was when Kory was admiring Stone’s many tattoos and felt thankful his dick was not also tattooed. This led her down the path of wondering…do guys need to be hard when they get tattoos and how does the tattoo artist feel about that? Then, because Stone was a tattoo artist, she wondered if he could tattoo his own dick. She didn’t voice any of this aloud but I found it hysterical, probably because I’d never given it any thought myself.
The story eventually ends happily, and although it wasn’t as long-time-coming as Katie and Johnny’s or as romantically sappy as Erin and Riley’s, it was still a satisfying ending and I enjoyed it.
Not sure how I feel about this book. It was an Amazon suggestion and I was definitely interested after reading the blurb. I would have preferred the book be from a dual POV, I think getting Stone’s perspective would have seriously helped me enjoy the story. As is, it was an ok read.
Jade C. Jamison never ceases to amaze me, all of her books are absolutely amazing! We all know Jade is known for her Rocker stories but each one is always different and she just draws you. Reading the Tangled Wed Series I couldn't put any of these books down. I was completely captivated by each and every one of these characters and their story. The best part was reading how it all fell together.
Punctured, Bruised, and barely Tattooed (Companion Novel) is about Stone and Kory. Stone was the drummer for Spawn once they got big, replacing the original drummer. After Spawn broke up Stone came back to his hometown and went into the Tattoo business with his friend. Kory had a horrible childhood one that she was always trying to run away from. After years of therapy she thought everything was buried. After being pierced by Stone once Kory kept returning so she can keep having an excuse to keep seeing him. To Kory there was something about him that she was drawn to and just knew they could work. At her friends insistence Kory finally asked Stone on a date, to he surprise he said yes. Stone was reluctant to make this a serious thing because the age gap and his past, but he felt something with Kory. The big problem was that being with Stone all of Kory's old wounds opened up and she remembered every dreadful thing that happened to her. Stone tried to help in many ways but she knew she had to help herself first. Even though Stone helped a lot Kory knew he was still hiding something. After going through so much together Kory finally found out Stone's secret. He was rich and famous. Even though this didn't change the way Kory felt for Stone it changed how she noticed other women went after him. Kory had so much to deal with she wondered if she would always be able to compete with these women who threw themselves at Stone.
Kory McCallister (20, WCC, business, On the Go, convenience store) had the hot’s for Stone Bowman (28, wealthy, tattoo artist). She was going to get some piercings, but she is not exactly sold on tattoos. Stone (aka Mal) was co-owner of the Iron Maiden. Russell Russ (tattoo artist, aka 6-Pack) & Richie (sales clerk) worked there also. Lacey Fuhrman (21, Kory BFF/roommate) & Tina (21, Kory BFF/roommate, WCC) talked Kory into asking Stone out on a date. Pizza, beer & getting to know each other a little. What does getting a tattoo mean to a person?
1st tattoo for Kory a black musical note. Kory & Stone over time became intimate. It was Kory 21st birthday. Surprise, surprise. This story brought back a lot of memories. Time/Time again I heard this story. I learned something new “lady boner.” Something I really hate PPL smoking by entrance ways, be respectful go to a deserted island.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written YA mild erotic fairy tale romance book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make great YA fairy tale romance movie, animated cartoon, or mini TV series. Started out slow but the buildup & ending, wow. It wasn’t steamy-hot but I will still rate it at 5 stars. Thank you for the free book (Goodreads; ARR group; PDF) Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed was about this stalker-like-girl who constsantly comes back for more and more piercings because she likes the tattoo artist. She isn't really a stalker, but it reminds me of a teenage girl that constantly finds ways to be near the guy she likes so that he will eventually notice her. He thinks she is cute and gives her a chance. There were some moments that I felt bad for this girl and embarrassed by her actions, to the point I put the book down and covered my own face. Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed was a really good book. I loved the main guy in this book and how he trerated the woman with such care and love. In other words, he was not the usual rockstar player written in books. I liked how the lead lady had an abusive past and yet did not let that stop her from trying to have the relationship with him. Even though things triggered memories from her past and scared her, she dealt with it. She trusted him and fell in love with him. His past did not bother her or make her look at him at all differently; neither did her for him. Both characters have things in their pasts that once they deal with them, they move past it. Eventually, they fall in love with one another and find their HEA. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley.
Great Read Kory MCCalister was going to see Stone Boronan. He was her dream guy. She had a fear of needles, but had been pierced many times by Stone. The first time she went to the shop was two years ago. Stone was co-owner of the tattoo shop, The Iron Maiden. Kory often felt she didn't belong anywhere on the planet. Kory and her friends Lacy and Tina met every Wednesday at noon at the Main Street Cafe. Her friends push Kory to ask Stone out. She finally does and they go have pizza together. Stone asked Kory if she trusted him to give her a tattoo and she lets him. Kory had a really bad childhood. She thought she had gotten through everything but...Kory is a tough girl because she has to be. She is a survivor. She didn't have much self-esteem, but through the twists in this story, she grew and changed until she was able to trust and love. Stone also had a bad childhood, but he also had secrets, one he kept so people would like him for himself. He was leery of people, yet he was caring, honest and kind. He is a very artistic person and a good man. He also had his own journey to go through. It was very enjoyable watching both of them go through their journey.I loved this book and would highly recommend it.

I was really excited to read this book by the description. Once I started to actually read the book I was finding myself bored and struggling to finish it. It wasn’t until after 50% the book actually picked up but then I still didn’t feel a connection between the characters. The story had potential I just couldn’t get into it, I am sure other readers will love it, just wasn’t for me.
Characters: I couldn’t really feel a connection between the characters
Sex: yes
Religious: no
Would I recommend to others: yes
More than one book in the series: companion novel to the Tangled Web series
I received this book from the Author for an honest review. Can I tell you how excited I get when Jade C. Jamison gives me the opportunity to read about her new book…Uh yes please is always my answer. This is about a sexy tattoo artist, Stone Bowman, and Kory McCallister who has had a crush on Stone for a while now. Kory would get piercings but only by Stone just so she could see him. She was running out of placed to get pierced and was trying to work her way up to a tattoo. You see she is afraid of needles and didn’t thing she could handle the needle on the tattoo gun. One day her friends dared her to ask him out and when she did was she was surprised he said yes. Stone is surprised when she doesn’t know who he is and asked her not to go snooping. Kory agrees not to google him ask questions. She has secrets of her own and understands so she is true to her word and doesn’t go snooping or ask questions.
I was living dangerously with this book because I didn't read the summary. I'll shamelessly admit I totally judged it off the cover & title. With that said, I loved this book. It was a fairly quick book to read too. The writing was good, the plot was good & I loved the characters. The main characters Stone & Kory were perfect for one another. Without wanting to give to much away, their stories are heartbreaking & heartwarming. How Stone helps Kory heal from her very traumatic past is rather beautiful. Also, how Kory accepts Stone, his past & doesn't see him any differently (like he was afraid she would) was pretty wonderful. I should also mention how hot & sexy Stone is! Who doesn't love a sexy tattooed man! This was my first book from this author & I wasn't disappointed. I wouldn't hesitate to read any other books from this author.
Thanks to Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. I had a good laugh at the title, snarky really. This was a pretty good read, and I felt the author tried to introduce us to two people who were damaged. Kory was really crushing on this bad boy hottie that gave her piercings because she was trying to get over a phobia of needles. Along the way her attraction for him grew. You don't really get to see how much Stone's interested until she asks him out on a date. Maybe the author could do a small rendition of Stones POV, so we could see his interest. I thought the idea was good but it was hard to get a connection. Still I enjoyed it, and liked the romance despite the heavy emotion surrounding their circumstances. Overall entertainment is three stars.
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This was a slow starter for me, but I had every confidence that it would come together, and in the end enjoyed it very much. The main characters were clearly deeply affected by their pasts, but in a position to move forward, so there was an upbeat feel in spite of some heavy reveals. An enjoyable read, with a fun twist at the end, which shows a complete turn around from the beginning.
Jade Jamison owned me with every fricking word in this amazing book. Kory is obsessed with Stone, the amazingly sexy tattoo and piercing artist, so obsessed that she goes to him to get all her piercings, but is too afraid to ask him on a date... until she is dared to. But Stone has a not-so-secret secret... he doesn't want to tell Kory, he doesn't want her to see him in a different way. She finds out but it doesn't change a thing... their love is meant to be, meant to last... and it does. Definitely on my read it again list!
Kory had many piercings all over her body and was searching for more places to pierce just so she could get them done by Stone, local great tattoo artist. She lusted after him for more than a year before she asked him to take her out on a date, and, much to her surprise, he accepted. However, they both had secrets to their past, but were reluctant to share them until full trust was developed between them. Would they be able to form a lasting relationship in spite of their secrets once they revealed them? Or would this be the end of the relationship? Although parts of Kory’s secret was revealed throughout the book, stone did not want to reveal his, but Kory found out by accident. As I find every book by Jade Jamison hard to put down, this one didn’t disappoint.
I think this book might have been better with the point of view switching between the main characters. Only because I never felt I really knew how the characters were feeling. Stone was without emotion, feeling or depth for a great deal of the book. He was perfect and she was young, immature and shallow despite her history of trauma. I never connected with either character and did not really care about their journey. I was not impressed and honestly won’t look to read other books by this author. There were a few editing errors. There was no cliffhanger but the ending felt flat.
Piercing and Tattoos I always love Jade C. Jamison’s writing style and Book 3 of her “Tangled Web Rockstar” Series is no exception This is a steamy romance about a hot tattoo artist with a secret past and a young woman with a tragic past of sexual abuse. Even though Kory is attracted to Smoke and has total trust in him there is something about him that is triggering the tragedy in her past, and what is his secret. Both Storm and Kory have strong sensitive characters that make their story extra special. A great read that was impossible to put down. I received a copy of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
The book is very sweet. There wasn’t any conflict though. It was just...sweet. Good writing. Some of the way the dialogue was written was kind of confusing but that could have been a grammatical or editing error.
Story of Kory and Stone. I stuck with it and kept reading even though I wanted to quit a couple of times. It's slow going in the beginning but if you hang on the story gets better. It's a standalone HEA Overall I enjoyed reading the book.
Wow, just wow! Kory and Stone both had challenging childhood. Each one has dealt with it in their own way. They are yin and yang coming together to be a whole. This was both sad and happy. Can’t wait for more.
