Ooh la la! Gwen ends up on a Parisian scavenger hunt—with a cute French ami —in this M!X novel from the author of Lost in London .
Gwen Russell is thrilled to hear she will be heading to Paris with her family. Even though the main reason for the trip is to see her three older brothers play lacrosse, Gwen and her Mom have plans to tour the city when they can.
As soon as they land, Gwen is swept up in the city she has always wanted to see, and even meets a très cute boy named Henri. If that wasn't enough excitement, Gwen finds out that her all-time favorite band is playing a one-night only concert in Paris—and there are tickets available to the sold-old show for three lucky people. The catch? Fans who want a golden ticket have to work for it via a scavenger hunt around the City of Light.
Through cryptic clues blasted out every day through a special website, Gwen and her new friends find themselves in a race against time—and against other die-hard fans—as they scramble to landmarks throughout Paris. And it turns out the concert tickets might not even be the biggest prize...

this book was so much fun! I liked Bridgette and all the animals and liked Gwen and the scavenger hunt aspect it was sos light and fluffy and of course i loved the setting PARIS!! Although i liked Lost in London more i really enjoyed this and i can't wait to read Lost in Rome
This is a short middle-grade book about 13-year-old Gwen Russell and her trip to Paris with her mom and 3 brothers. While there, she discovers that a famous band will be performing in Paris and will be having a contest to give away tickets. The contest takes the contestants to various sites around Paris for clues to the next sites until the tickets are won.
It was a cute read and I enjoyed it. I'm not sure that I understand the title as she was never 'lost' in Paris; she was always with someone who knew his/her way around. Maybe it's a play on words...? I'd recommend the book to tween girls.
I received an e-copy of this book from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Bad reading Gwen’s adventure has taken me in Paris In some reader way, I think that the book was good but i didn’t see anything about being lost very disappointed.

Lost In Paris could have been a really fun read, had it not been for the cheesy, made-for-television-kid’s-movie quality of it all.
First off, there were no well-developed characters; most of them were flat, and many were also total stereotypes that are seen so often with kid’s movies and books. The hard-core LeBoeuf, even the main character, Gwen. Honestly, I didn’t like Gwen at all. She had what I consider the “go-to” personality for tween girls. Overly peppy, uses ‘like’ a lot, found a cute guy that she totally has a crush on, likes the average ‘teen’ things…there was nothing that really set her apart. She was very bland as far as characters go. And her crush Henri…I hated how many jokes there were about him not understanding something Gwen said due to him being French and not having English as a first language. There were just so many. I ended up not liking him all that much either; he didn’t really have that unique of a personality either.
The plot was predictable. I could foresee most things before they even happened, and I am guessing that a lot of the target audience will not be all that surprised either, because it is so obvious. There’s blatant foreshadowing, and mentioning things, like
I just can’t see Gwen’s team ever winning this competition. Or even qualifying for it; it took them way too long to figure out the first clue. It was not realistic; they took forever to figure things out, and in the real world, I am certain somebody would have beaten them by a long shot. Especially in competition with such a sought-after prize.
Some of the scenes were rather cringe-worthy. Like when, in order to look more ‘fancy’ while going into a watchshop, Gwen wraps leashes around her neck. Her friend Brigette uses her lab coat as a cape. I am pretty sure that would not fool anyone. If anything, it would make them look more silly than fancy.
One thing I like about M!X books is that they always have messages in them, but this book’s were more half-hearted. I’m not expecting them to be the main point of the story, but these seemed to just barely get tacked on nearing the end.
Lost In Paris ended up losing my interest. (Pun totally intended, though I’ll admit it’s bad.) It doesn’t have a lot of redeeming factors to it, and I am fairly certain that if I had not needed to write this review, I would have stopped reading it altogether. It was definitely a disappointment.
This is a good book for someone who likes adventure! Roaming around Paris and trying to find clues means a great book for me! I don't know if this is something that I would reread, but it was good the first time around!
The main character Gwen goes with her three older brothers and her mom to Paris. There she meets her old friend Bridget and a boy named Henry. She also meets a guy who is always outside her hotel playing music. When she first gets to the hotel they go straight off on a tour to see a place where people make wishes on lanterns and then throw them into the air. Then Gwen gets an email telling her about a shock value contest. Gwen could win tickets to go see her favorite band. Gwen, Bridget, and Henry team up to try to win the tickets. Will they succeed. Gwen is very excited to go to Paris. When she goes on the first tour she wishes on a lantern and she is skeptical about it and doesn't think it will work. After all she has to sit in a terrible van with creepy pets and they are in last place for the contest. Eventually the pets grow on her and so does the van and she has a great time in Paris. I guess wishes do come true. I really liked this book because of the setting. I love Paris and everything about it from the food to the langue. I speak a bit of french myself Bonjour chem a pell Gwen that means hello my name is Gwen. I like the action and how it talks about places in Paris. However I don't like the description of Henrys pony tail at the very end.
A girl gets to go to Paris because her brothers have a lacrosse game there. She gets to hang out for the rest of the week there. There is a competition to win tickets to her favorite band’s concert. I liked this book because it was thrilling and it was in Paris. It shows tons of the monuments in Paris.
I am ashamed to admit it took me three days to read this book. My oldest daughter has been on a big Paris kick, and I think I purchased this for her one time when I went to Barnes and Noble. This is a tween novel about a tomboy (although not if you look at the cover) girl named Gwen who is traveling with her family to Paris for her brothers' lacrosse tournament. While there her dream band is offering a contest to win tickets to an upcoming concert. Forming a team with a family freiend that lives in Paris (and runs a mobile pet buiness) and a young guy that works at the hotel, she has adventures traveling around the city trying to collect clues to win the tickets.
Disney channel, If you are looking a made for tv movie script here it is. Super predictable. Super sappy. Even the conflicts of the book were peppy. There are animals. There are misunderstandings. There are parents that are absent for most of the story. There are kids outsmarting adults. This is your formula, Disney!
With that, for a tweeny, this might be a fine book. Reading level is pretty easy. The attempt at French is predictable. Henri does understand colloquialisms or slang. Gwen has to stop and explain. No one dies. No one gets hurts. All wrongs are righted at the end. As a parent, I would be okay if my daughter wanted to read this book. No darkside. But since my daughter's favorite book is number 7 in the Harry Potter series... I don't see her stopping to read this.
Again if it was on Disney Channel or YouTube... then she might watch it.
Again, I saw connections to Cindy Callaghan's other books. Murielle duPluie! She keeps showing up in the books. I love that her books have connections. I think its really cool and fun. I enjoyed this one. I especially liked the characters- Clay, Gwen, Henri, and Brigitte. I loved following them on their scavenger hunt for tickets to the concert. It was really fun. I can't wait to read Lost in Rome! The last one, I think.
I loved the book totally in terms of language and work of the author. Characterisation and little gripping factors of the hunt along side amazing and happy go lucky supportive characters and unveiling cute mysteries. I would love to read more work of Cindy probably in good condition books when I go to UK or New York.
I loved this book, a bit boring, could have had like..more insights in Gwen's pov, more time for her to be there, but overall it is a nice book! I loved Henri ;33 so cute when he speaks english, I can literally hear it in my head!
This is an entertaining book, with mysteries to solve, Paris as a backdrop, and some teen fun. Kind of a lot for one short book, but clearly entertaining for young readers.
Тази част не ми допадна толкова. Дългоочакваното посещение в Париж се превръща в treasure hunting за концертни билети. Не натам ми се щеше да отива сюжета, исках повече от символите и самия Париж.
