I finally remember. This is the first Jordan Silver book I ever read
It was a rough ride and one that I will never take again.

All I can say is that poor girl had to put up with a lot for an innocent virgin.
Really? Butt plugs and balls in a virgin vagina before intercourse and she is good with all that?
I am sorry but that needs to be after some regular sex and maybe a lot of pain meds!?

It was a submissive story and bdsm I get that but man you need to set that stuff up before you get down on it!!!
Just not my thing and the farm girl angle...that is weak at best.
For me it was a complete let down!

She is just a poor little f*cked up farm girl!
I would not recommend this book to anyone ever.

If you are not into spankings, anal play and punishments then this story isn't for you. I loved it. I didn't love when he sent her away for 1 1/2 weeks without communication and just assumed she would know that he would be coming for her. I did love how he loved her. Little ow drama in the form of an ex, but it had been over for months before the H/h met. Slight push/pull, didn't last long. Great read.

Callan is a bad bad Dom; and Gabriella is a really dumb, empty non-entity.

Reasons for the 1-star rating:
- Callan expressing his disregard for the notion of consent (even though it plays out as if she is consenting).
- Callan expressing he intends to kill her if she goes against his wishes.
- Callan promising "forever" and then removing her from his life when he's angry.
- Callan constantly punishing her when he knows she is not to blame for such transgressions.
- Callan being a mannipulative narcissitic spoilt little prick.
- Women over 30 with an opinion on anything are portrayed as old, mean, bitter and past their expiration date.
- Gabriella being a stupid, childish, almost certifiable incapable of complex thought human being.

I seem to be going through a reread of all of the Jordan Silver books I've read. I know that sometimes the writing is a bit juvenile and she needs to hire someone to review all the grammatical errors and crazy sentences in her books, but I still really like to read them. This one is no exception. I liked the story of a young virginal farm girl who is hated by the ex of the hero. Very angsty with an alpha male that only Jordan Silver can create.

Gabriella loved her parents but she knew one thing she did not want to spend her life working the farm. She wanted to go and find her own path and when her Mom calls in a favor from an old high school friend, she finds herself becoming an assistant to the woman. She has no clue the woman doesn't want her there or the nasty temperament she has.

Callan O'Rourke knew he made a mistake when he slept with his now ex, but she is still trying to reel him back and has him picking up what she refers to a hayseed at the train station. The instant he sees Gabriella he knows he wants her beauty is breathtaking and her innocence has him charmed. When he realizes he needs to set things in motion to get her out of the claws of his ex, he acts swiftly but will this natural born submissive be able to take all he wants to give?

This reminded me a bit of Devil Wears Prada as far as the plot line where Gabriella is concerned. God story, had a few things that I scratched my head at but overall entertaining.

Great BDSM story. Not many of these types of stories have a truly natural submissive as the heroine, they are always convinced or tempted into the lifestyle. I liked that Gabriella needed this element to their relationship as much as Callan. She was doing it for herself not just to please him. Enjoyed the twist with Josh and fab ending.

Jesus. This book is fucking exhausting. It reads less like a book, and more like a ‘how to BDSM manual.’

Light on the story and heavy on the playroom beatings, it was boring. I never thought I would say that about a book this author has written, but goddamn nothing happens. For what seems like chapter after chapter, nothing happens- other than the sex.

His perspective is all about the ‘I will own her inside and out, forever’ then sex- with some punishments for bullshit slights, rinse repeat.

Her perspective was basically brainless, thoughtless, ‘whatever you say master’, sex, and then some beatings.

With a tiny bit of barely resolved drama thrown in.

I was booooooored. So so bored, and annoyed. I finished it though. So there is that.

Callan + Gabriella

Total Power Exchange BDSM can be hit or miss a lot of the times. The first time I was introduced to it was definitely a miss, but this book was a hit for me. I loved that Callan wanted to control everything from her hair to her orgasm. If a person has a problem with OTT j/p men who give no leeway then this isn’t for them. The drama subplots within a JS book is usually something I can do without and this was no different, but I grin and bear it.

“When I finally put her beneath me, she will be mine completely. Mind, body and…well the soul I'll leave for the one who created it. Everything else will be mine. I demand it, I will settle for no less.”

Ok'not her best

I have to have to say first I like silver's books, well most of them, I've read everything she has written. I'm giving three stars for this one for 2 reasons, first you CAN NOT make people think not have a safe word is ok. She may write fiction but it's still romance. There has to be a safe word with that kind of play. My second is, the jealousy thing bothered me. He told her is was disrespectful to him when she was jealous but he could do it? That's not how a true Dom treats his sub. Now because it's pure fiction I tried to set all that aside and just enjoy the book. Once I did that, I got through it. I just shouldn't have to work at it.

A little too much of the D/s lifestyle in this one for me. I enjoy my H's to be OTT, arrogant and even aggressive sometimes but kissing feet/shoes of your master is not my thing. If I put some of that out of my mind then the story wasn't too bad. I liked the drama that happened because it added to the story without being too over the top and it was nice to see Callan step back sometimes and make attempts to see things through Gabriella's (very young) eyes.

This story had a lot of D/s themes to it with power exchange being the central theme in the relationship. While it's not part of every kinkster relationship, it's a part of some. It was done well. As I know that JS does not usually dip her toes too much in this genre, it may not be everyone's cuppa so be warned

A longer story from Jordan Silver with some over lapping plots, but the main focus was the training of a natural sub by an older dom.
I had a few problems with parts of it, especially the speed in which the relationship went full on for such a young girl, and his not completely explaining some of his actions and reactions to such a naïve girl.

Very strict BDSM MMC is to obsessed with being the perfect dominant. Pushes her away, being insecure that is the worst thing that can happen to the MFC, it breaks her.
Because he doesn’t use his smarts to see this I give 4 stars. One character needs to be strong and smart to defeat the evil.

This was D/s and not BDSM. Even though the D had a playroom, there were no true BDSM scenes - just plain boring vanilla sex.

The s was young, immature and clueless. She acted like a doormat and never truly challenged the D in a constructive way, just reacted with bratty behavior. The D was very egotistical, uncreative, self gratifying and terribly oblivious. There were no relationship dynamics. So that was boring too. All in all, pretty bad PWP.

This is the D's mindset:

“We don’t need safe words. Love, trust, they negate the need for them. You will trust me to know your boundaries and to respect them. If your boundaries interfere with my pleasure, my wants, you will love me enough to push them.

I was waiting for her to reach her limit, to get to that point where it was too much, or she’d had enough. So far it hadn’t happened. Like I’d told her, I don’t like safe words, that’s considered dangerous in the world of BDSM, but that’s where I parted ways with the lifestyle.

Love me some Jordan! I wasn't too sure about this one for the first chapter or so as it had a bit of a sceavy vibe to it, but Jordan did it again and I ended up really liking Callen. This isn't my favorite of Jordan's work that I've read so far, but I read it on Kindle unlimited and ended up buying my own copy because I know I'm going to want to reread it.

There is more of a BDSM vibe in this story also although not written with all the strictures that I've read about in other BDSM books so that may or may-not irritate BDSM aficionados.

I would like to end this review by saying that Jordan Silver is one of my favorite authors. If you like over-the-top, domineering, controlling men who go out of their minds if their woman is the slightest bit unhappy, hurting or in danger, unless of course, they are the ones causing the discomfort, usually on purpose and probably in a sexual, pushing-her-boundaries, sort of way, then Jordan is a writer you will want to try. I love her work!!
