For intended readers of this book, it isn't about being a bear. It's about the wonders of sibling rivalry that are to become a central theme of your life story for years, even decades, to come.

You see, Little Bear has enjoyed being the family's one and only child. Now he learns that he's going to become a big brother.

Only after Baby Anna moves in does Little Bear recognize the new chaos that has just entered his life. For instance:

He went straight to his room and threw himself on the floor.
Then just as suddenly he jumped up and kicked his tower
sending building blocks in every direction.

However large your original family, what if you don't remember moments like these? Well, that's your prerogative. But you can't erase the impact of the inevitable disappointments. Even though there can also be so many joys in childhood.

FIVE STARS for an honest look in this honest book.

Hi, everyone!
I'm working for a Russian website dedicated to children's books and children's reading Papmambook.ru. We've been building the English version of the website. We are proud that a lot of our reviewers are teenagers. Here's what one of them had to say on Here She Is!

Like all big brothers, Little Bear can't wait for his new sibling to arrive. But once Anna comes home, he is annoyed at the changes in his life and her stinkiness. Feeling jealous of his sister and all the attention she is receiving, he acts out until he decides to lie on her playmate and think about what makes her special. One smile from Anna has him charmed, and Little Bear decides that there is room for the family for two children. I liked how he solves the problem on his own rather than his parents intervening, and I also liked how when his father finally finds time to play ball with his son, that Little Bear is busy with his new sister. The illustrations are sweet, each one showing familial love and the last one showing Anna' touching her brother's nose in wonder. This would be a good picture to share with children whose families are starting to grow.

Super cute illustrations, but not much deviation from the typical older sibling story. Another reviewer pointed out that Little Bear comes around on his own rather than with encouragement or a big speech from his mom and dad, which is a nice little twist.

Pretty standard new baby/older sibling book. I did enjoy that the older sibling decides his baby sister is ok on his own and that this turn-around happens about 3/4 of the way through the book so there are a few pages of them appreciating each other.

Joskus odotettu pikkusisko voi olla pettymys, koska se on tylsä. Onneksi ne kasvaa.

This is one of those books where you are clearly aware that your emotions are being manipulated, but you don't care because it just warms the cockles of your heart.

I always read little sibling books and think, they make it sound so horrible! But it was cute nonetheless.
