Like all big brothers, Little Bear can't wait for his new sibling to arrive. But once Anna comes home, he is annoyed at the changes in his life and her stinkiness. Feeling jealous of his sister and all the attention she is receiving, he acts out until he decides to lie on her playmate and think about what makes her special. One smile from Anna has him charmed, and Little Bear decides that there is room for the family for two children. I liked how he solves the problem on his own rather than his parents intervening, and I also liked how when his father finally finds time to play ball with his son, that Little Bear is busy with his new sister. The illustrations are sweet, each one showing familial love and the last one showing Anna' touching her brother's nose in wonder. This would be a good picture to share with children whose families are starting to grow.
