This book is correlated to the Common Core Standards, in this case a set of fundamental mathematical principles that all students moving out of these grades should master. The organizational structure has a very short reminder of a topic (one-third of a page at most) followed by a set of exercises to be worked. There are two exams, one in the middle and one at the end. Brief solutions to all the problems are given at the end.
The coverage begins with basic algebra and concludes with the solving of simple two-equation linear systems. Topics in the middle include fractions, rational and irrational numbers, proportions, exponents, factoring and using basic algebra to solve simple equations. All of the problems fit within the norms of basic problems in these areas.
Designed to be a post-coverage review and mastery test of the material, this book fits well into that niche.
