James, Harper, and Sasha are products of their environment. Born into a secret organization that runs a global shadow government, and taught to kill since they were small, they find themselves both indispensable and expendable to all the people they used to trust.

Twenty-eight year old James Fenici has been an assassin since he was sixteen. He’s amassed debts and favors from countless Company brothers and participated in hundreds of Company jobs. But there are not enough favors in the world to clear his debt and make him worthy of the only girl he’s ever wanted.

Eighteen year old Harper Tate is the girl who doesn’t exist. Born and raised on a megayacht in a tropical paradise, she was destined to be a secret until now. No history, no records, and manipulated into having no opinions or ambition of her own, Harper is suddenly presented with more choices than she can handle.

Thirteen year old Sasha Cherlin is the girl who knows everything and understands nothing at all. Her future is filled with vengeance and death, but her dreams are filled with hope and a promise. A promise who no longer wants her.

The game is on, the pieces are in place, and the players have everything to lose. But who can you trust when everyone’s a traitor?

J.A. Huss

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

J.A. Huss has taken this series to an entirely different level in James/Harper/Sasha’s final book. I love the twists, turns, mystery, steaminess, and most importantly the connections. Somehow, the way she is able to connect all the characters in this round about way (even some from previous series...) is just genius!

Coming for You continues to follow James, Harper, and Sasha. They are trying to take down The Company and are all going in different directions to do it.

Harper

 photo f5989490-20d4-4c17-af86-75dc44483737_zpse66ce28e.jpg

Harper is thrown into this crazy situation. She’s spent enough time with James that she feels she really knows him, really trusts him. Even though she knows he’s a little crazy, she doesn’t care. Harper is thrown between her family, James family, and it’s intense. There was one moment with her that caused a mini freak out in me, but after a few minutes I was okay. Harper makes it clear she wants no one but James. No matter what. And I love her for it.
“If you die, James, I will die with you. Even if I live, I will die with you.”

Then there is James, Six, or Tet whatever you want to call him.

 photo 2d12f448-783a-4465-866b-8dc205717c2e_zps9a5628e9.jpg
All I gotta do is become Tet when the time starts to slow down and he steps right in. He’s got no problem blowing heads off and Tet does not miss.
If you’re gonna kill someone, you finish the job of die trying.

James is on a mission. The only two people he truly trusts are Harper and Sasha, but he’s got Merc on his side to help out as well. James is a character who has an intense past. He’s one of those characters I absolutely love! His crazy just makes him more endearing to him. He is such a bad ass alpha male!

Lastly but not least, we have Sasha

 photo fdc9f3f8-e500-4a14-bc85-ceacdd1d9f0b_zps2074ce51.jpg

Sasha is STILL my favorite character of the book. Even though I adore James and Harper and reading about them is great, I looked the most forward to Sasha’s chapters in the book. She may only be thirteen, but she is one of the most kick ass heroine’s I’ve ever read. Sasha is smart. She knows what’s going on and seems to be in the loop with everyone. She is such a secret weapon because you would never expect this girl to be a killer. I loved the thing she had going on with Nick and I’m so anxious to read their book! And that epilogue from *you know who’s* perspective was just AMAZING. And knowing they will be in Sasha’s book down the line makes my heart so freaking happy... Maybe my favorite line of the book- just because I love him!!!!

This series has been full of ties, mind blowing connections, suspense, hot sex, twists and turns and even some humor. I’ve been completely engrossed since I read that first novella 6 months ago. These characters are awesome and complex, JA’s writing is brilliant, and it’s a series you won’t want to miss out on!

What you need to know before you read this book:

* This is the conclusion to Come & Come Back.
* This includes scenes that overlap and tie in to Slack and an amazeballs character you meet in Julie’s Rook & Ronin Series. Ford Fucking Aston.
* This briefly touches on parts of the storyline in Guns.
* This series can be read completely as a stand-alone.
* If you haven’t read the books mentioned above, you are crazy.

Now buckle up because this is one helluva bumpy ride.

Screenshot_1

Ten days. That was a promise that James made to Harper. Just before he took her back to her father and shot Sasha. There is a plan. There are several players. There are those that have their own motives and singular driven end-games. Just who is working for who, who is in on which plan and who ultimately on which side? Have fun trying to figure that shit out. Good luck. Cause you’re not going to, not until it’s time.

Screenshot_8

One thing is for certain, The Company is much bigger than you ever imagined and there are far more players involved and twists to be unraveled before the dust settles. Everyone is a player, a killer, a victim. No one can be trusted, yet to survive this game you’re going to have to pick a side and pray that you choose wisely.

Screenshot_6

James came to us originally as a mysterious character that was out to use whomever he needed to get what he wanted. Or should I say, Tet did.

Screenshot_2

He was dark, disturbed and utterly insane.

And I loved him.

Screenshot_4

Because that he was Dirty, Dark and Dangerous. He is everything that should you have your running in the opposite direction, but you aren’t. You are left standing there, sopping wet. James is the kind of bad guy that ruins you. You’ll get off on the crazy he brings to the table. Sure you’ll love that soft side that he gives Harper, the protectiveness that he shows toward Sasha will make your ovaries jump for joy, but what will really cause your heart to beat faster will be those moments when he can be ruthless.

Screenshot_3

Sasha, this girl easily steals the show. Hell she did that a few books ago when she was just a little girl wrapping a present for a girl-who-is-a-friend. This bad-ass smurf who was a mix between a broken little girl suffering from losing everyone she loved and a killer.

Screenshot_7

Harper’s role was much more subdued in the conclusion of the story, but make no mistake as to the importance that she plays in this game. Her entire life has been one deception after another but can she really trust anyone?

JA Huss, Julie or as I think I’ll refer to her from this point forward – THE QUEEN OF TWISTY AS FUCK STORIES; delivered majorly.

I have never been left disappointed when it comes to this author. Even going into one of her books and knowing to expect the unexpected, doesn’t quite prepare you for it. The way her mind works is amazing, the concept of her stories, the way she can start at one point and before you know it, you are so deep into a story that you wonder, how the fuck did we get here?!?!?!? It still surprises me every time. I am one of those readers that will always attempt to figure out the story before the author is ready to reveal it and although there were things about this story that I came close to sorting through, I am never ever able to get all the pieces to fit on my own. That is because you can’t finish the story for the author, it’s her job to get you to the end and you have to trust her to deliver. And she does. Every. Time.

You meet a lot of characters along the way, some you’ve met before and some that you get a small glimpse of but instantly want more from. I can’t recall a character that she’s written that hasn’t resulted in me wanting to read their book next. Even a character just passing through becomes someone interesting enough that you wonder, what’s there story? Jesus that is writing talent.

Screenshot_5

I have loved every moment I spent lost in the mind of this author. Her books are ones that should not be missed. If you are among the ones that have read them all, you understand. If you stopped at R&R and came to this series because of the Bend Anthology you are missing out if you haven’t read Ford & Spencer’s books. R&R doesn’t bring you closure to the story, that can only be found in Guns. Hell, for me, the closure of Slack/Taut hasn’t even arrived yet – although this came close.

Screenshot_9

You’ll get a dose of sweet with the dangerous men that JA delivers, but if that is one small part of the complexity of the characters she delivers. You’ll get a love story that escapes the journey with a few scars, but those scars only add to the story. You’ll get the story the way the author wants to tell it. At her pace. And you’ll be left wanting more.

If someone were to ask me what my favorite book was from her, my answer would be easy. All of them.

Things you should know -

This book will blow your mind, like serious confusion. I felt like I needed a pen and paper to track things that were happening. 1. Because I wanted to read so fast to see what would happen, 2. Because this story is insanely smart and original.

This book is crazy hot and also just crazy!

Julie, you amaze me, no seriously amaze me. I told a friend the other day that Julie has to be one of the smartest people I know to keep up/create these stories.

This is the EPIC conclusion to James and Harper's story

MY LOVER - Ford is in this book - Have you meant Ford? Well, you should ASAP!

Lastly, after reading this I NEED WASTED LUST!!! I cannot wait to read Sasha's story!!

4.5 “We are nothing but a clusterfuck of double and triple crossings...” STARS

Well, this was edge of your seat, rack your brain, wring your hands entertainment! I'm a huge FAN of Ms. Huss; her characters are so alive and complex and her stories just take me on a ride to remember.

Definition of Come(/kəm/):

Verb
1. Move or travel toward or into a place thought of an near or familiar to the speaker
2. Occur; happen; take place

Preposition (informal)
1. When a specified time is reached or events happen

Noun
1. Semen ejaculated at orgasm

This was all that and then some!

"He might be crazy. And he’s definitely dangerous. But I like him this way."
 photo James_zps9921f6d8.jpg

“Life with James is a full-color, full speed-ahead kind of life. I fell in love with that man.”
 photo Harper_zps886fd407.jpg

"Somehow all these threads are connected. It’s ragged, but somehow, everything is related."
 photo Sasha_zps13384009.jpg

“I feel like I’m part of a game. I’m a chess piece. I’m a card that’s being held or played. I’m not quite sure.”

I had my moments...

And I wish there had been more of Harper and James...

“He kisses me for real this time. There’s no hesitation. Only devouring. He kisses me like he’s the wind. Like he’s the sea. Like he’s the desert. He kisses me and he tastes like freedom.”

And I knew there was going to be some real fucked up shit...

But, all in all, this was a good read and I loved getting a glimpse at the Team (Ford, Ronin, Spencer, Rook, Ronnie and Ash). I'm looking forward to Merc's story and Sasha's!

PS: Just LOVE Ford’s comment to Sasha -- it felt like old times ;)

“You’re officially part of the Team now, Cherlin. But first things first. I need you to hate Ronin. No matter how charming he is, you must not fall for it. He may be on the Team too, but we’re mortal enemies till the end.”

What a ride!

description

I don't really know how to express how much I love part one and two in this book! It was such a page turner. A question after each page I turn, There's such intensity, I didn't know who to believe, what to think. At some point, I thought I was crazy

description

J.A.Huss made me questions everything I already knew from the previous books and with the multi-point of view it was even harder to think by myself and to know who to trust.

description

Because really I even dreamt about the damn book.
It has a lots of

description
moments and

description
moments.

I know I don't make a lot of sense here because I don't really explain what happen in this book but I can't. You have to read it, just know that the book picks up right after book 2.

I know I'm not helping much, do you hate me ?

description

BUT
description

If I had an advice I would say to read Come, Come Back and Coming for you back to back because they are so many details, so many things to remember that it's best if you keep everything in mind.
This story is so complicated and your ask to many questions that you can get easily lost.

So if I loved the book so much, why only 4 stars. Well in book 3 and at around 70-85% J.A. lost me a little. I found the ending pretty rushed. They are certain subject with no real answers and so I was a little disappointed after I turn the last page.

Last but not least if you like books with a lot of angst, with strong characters, with a story that will make you go completely crazy with yourself, READ this series!!

Book 3 was definitely a wild ride. James Fenici had me from the beginning. I had my moments with Harper - sometimes I wanted to snap her neck, but I persevered. Sasha is a strong character and I liked her from the start as well. I enjoyed reading the POVs by James and Sasha, but mid-book Harper's POV kind-of cramped the story line for me and I couldn't wait to switch back to James or Sasha. Lots of plot twists - especially involving Vincent and Nicola. Most of the twists and turns were answered by the end, but I felt the ending for James and Harper was a bit rushed and had too many generalities for such a detail oriented story. With the ending leading to the continuation of Nick and Sasha's story, I am curious to see what will become of those two. Overall, I would give the series 4.75 stars.

Just when you think you have figured things out BOOM! Coming for You is the explosive final book in the Dirty, Dark, and Deadly series. I am a huge J.A. Huss fan because her writing is so fluid and natural. This series has been my favorite by her (so far)! Now that I have finished this series, I really want to go back and read all of the books in between.

If you haven't read the first two books in the series there are slight spoilers ahead so read at your own risk!

As we finished book 2, James returned Harper to her father. He wanted to protect her while he went off to take care of some unfinished business. Just like Harper, I was left confused and heartbroken. Throughout the chaos these characters are facing, one thing is for sure- James will return for Harper!

description

Sasha and James have traveled to seek out their allies. When Harper's brother finds out where his sister is, he is furious with James. He knows that she is in danger.

Harper is lost without James. Even though she knows he will return, she is scared and desperate for him to return to her.

description

Although I cannot reveal what happens to Harper, I will say it blew me away! This series is so unique. There is no way to figure out what is going to happen next. You simply have to buckle your seat belt and hang on tight for the ride.

Just like Harper, Sasha does not disappoint. She is so loyal and a true fighter. The things that she has had to endure have given her endurance and she refuses to give up! The relationship Sasha forms with James is so beautiful. He takes care of her like a big brother should. He refuses to let the violence make her hard.

description

While Sasha and James have each other to lean on, Harper is alone. She is barely hanging on. Waiting for James to come for her. Everyone around Harper tries to convince her that James is evil and wrong! She knows she belongs to him and he belongs to her!

description

The way that things unfold will take your breath away. All of these characters are so strong! The pacing is perfect. The action is intense and James and Harper are beautiful together!

description

I wish I could tell you more about the story but the truth is you have to experience it for yourself. All I will say is that you will not be disappointed by this series! There is a bit of heartbreak. However, the beauty out weighs the pain ten fold!

“I’m sorry it was such a long wait. I hope this night makes up for time lost. I can’t promise you that you’ll never fall, Harper. But if you ever need me for anything, I’ll be there. I’ll catch you. I’ll fix it. And if we ever have to be apart, always know that we’re together. We met years ago. We drifted apart to become these two people. And now we’re back together. One soul, cut in half, reunited.”-James

description

I hope that J.A. gives us more of Sasha. I am dying to see how that girl shakes things up! And now get off Goodreads and read this book!

One word that comes to my mind after reading Coming For You by JA Huss is INTENSE!! Seriously, my mind is still recovering on one of the most vivid, consuming, and roller-coaster of a story. This book had so many twist and turns and surprises that JA HUSS just keeps her readers on the edge of their seats. All I got to say is strap on and hold on tight because this is one intense, gripping, and original storyline. JA HUss delivers an exceptional and well written story of James, Harper, and Sasha. These three vital characters added depth, layers, and elements to the story that completed the big picture. If you want romance, suspense, action and a story that will leave you begging for more then go read the Dirty, Dark, & Deadly Series, The Rook & Ronin Series, and The Rook & Ronin Spinoffs (Taut/Guns) because you will want to knows these beloved characters.

#CDFY@

And as for the last few chapters and the epilogue, I seriously could not put this book down!! Sasha and Harper were two heroines that stole the show. Thank you JA Huss for another amazing book!!

What an interesting entertaining ride!!

There are so many twists and turns, I really had to pay attention to remember who's who and who's doing what to whom. I couldn't quite figure out who to believe or trust since everyone appeared to have big pieces of a puzzle but not all and each one had a plan that I wasn't quite sure how it fit. I liked how I was kept guessing the whole time.

But it does fit in the end and things made sense and I understood why the plan(s) went down the way they did. Pretty cool, I thought. Also, all the characters kicked butt, from James, Harper and Sasha (especially Sasha!), to Nick, Merc and Ford.

I admit I wished James and Harper had more time together but the 68-70% mark made up for it, trust me LOL Especially after factoring in the introduction of a new character, Vincent, which I must say pushed it to OTT land a bit. *tisking my tongue* ;)

And this may not make sense, but I thought despite all the calculated planning on every one's part, there was an organic feel to the way the whole event panned out.

I just love how Julie always manages to hook me in with her stories and writing. Slow burn or not, I just know that when her story opens up, boy does it open up, and in the most surprising way at that. Which is why she is now an auto-read for me.

On to Nick and Sasha's story! And Merc's! Wheee!!!

Well

Sigh

What to say?

First a disclaimer* in honor of this authors love of the F bomb, this review is laden with them. The five assassins mentioned in my review are my own assassins, not to be confused with Ms. Huss' assassins from this book*

This was a book I was dying for. Dying for it so much that I stayed up till 2400 hours waiting to get it. At 0030 hours I gave up ....its a no show. Now, I have five assassins of my own. They also have numbers but there are only five of them and they are numbered one through five according to their birth order. My first assassin whom I call Number One, needs to catch his bus at 0605 hours. Which means I have to get up at 0530. At 0445 my husbands snoring woke me up early. Great! I thought, I'll download this book. Get 45 minutes of reading in before I wake up One. My pupils protest as I light up my iPad in the darkness and to my dismay Amazon has never heard of this book. Hmmm. I send One off on his mission. He is trying out for the rifle team at his high school today, therefore will not need picked up from bus. This will leave me with extra reading time. I return to base from the bus stop to awaken Number Two, my Ninja Assassin. I check Amazon, they still have no idea what I am looking for. What the Fuck? It's 0700. Where the Fuck is it? I send Two on his way armed with a backpack full of math homework and Ninja stars. Twenty minutes later I awaken Three and Four. Three, who is my Disney Princess Assassin readily gets up for her assignment. But Four, well, he is my Spyro Assassin. He is difficult. He wants to start his mission trapping skylanders, not eat breakfast. I'm in no mood. I'm sleep deprived and still have no book. They get sent to the busses and on my return to base I hear noise on the stairs.....Number Five, armed with her teddy bear and displaying the worst bed head of hair ever, is ready for her day. I deliver Five on her Preschool mission. I return to base. I still have no fucking book.

Now unfortunately, Wednesday is my cleaning day. I have a woman to help me clean on Wednesday, because this house is fucking ridiculous and I was planning on feigning illness to get out of fucking cleaning so I could read. No need for this now, no fucking book. Lunchtime I get on Amazon....nope fucking nada. I check in with my EDGy girls...no one has seen this fucking thing yet and we are all pissed because it's lunchtime and we need to read before everyone's little assassins return from their missions. We have a buddy read setup and we are waiting to start. I check in with my Shrike bike girls on facebook and Ms. Julie has post about it not being live on Amazon. But B&N has it? What the Fuck? B&N NEVER has anything first. That's why I defected to Amazon. Ok. But I'm in business. I go to my two story library. I make path through the piles of junk and toys to a bookshelf and I search. I find it. I gently dust my old friend off. My nook. My first ever ereader that holds all my Kristen Ashley books. My first book I ever downloaded was Mystery Man. Hello Hawk. How have you been? "Babe, where in the FUCK have you been!?" is all I hear back. I don't tell him I have been visiting Amazon........ I press the button. Battery is fucking dead. Fuck. I get out ipad, go to nook App, I download this book. LE is in business.

I fucking I love J.A. Huss books. I read all her books this year, starting with her Rook and Ronin series. She is my new Kristen Ashley. The great KA has put out four stinkers this year and I have been sadly disappointed. I will still buy her books though even if they suck because I love her so much. Huss has come through for me all year (well I'll forget about the social media books 1,2 and 6. No one can get it right every time). I dive into this. I'm so happy.

And then....
I go down to pickup point for assassins Two through Four and get reading.

What the Fuck is going on? I'm not kidding. I have no idea what the Fuck is going on. Everyone is dead or half dead. This is like a book that has every soap opera storyline ever written in it. I mean, come on, identical twin brother that we have never met? Shut the fuck up. The first half of this book was so soap opera crazy I was waiting for either James, Ashleigh or fucking Ford to open a shower door and Tony would be standing there and .........oh! It's all been a dream! Speaking of Fucking Ford, where the fuck is he already?

Then, I get phone call from One. His ride isn't gonna make it. I load up my little assassins and head to high school. I read while waiting for bus to return him from gun club. One arrives with Numbers Eleven and Fourteen on his tail looking for ride as well. I have not trained those two but I am willing to help them out. They inform me they all hit their targets. One informs me he had one bullseye. Numbers Two and Four think one bullseye is unimpressive. Eleven and Fourteen had no bullseyes. I guess I'm a better trainer. We return to base, now I have to wait to read until all Assassins are asleep.

Then I hit Chapter 23.......

That's it. DN fucking F!

Now this is the part of the story where my EDGy girls come in handy. My dirty girl Elizabeth ordered me off the chat thread and back to the buddy read to resume fucking reading. It's a throw down. Elizabeth wins. She tells me to read chapter 24 then reread 23. Ok. Crisis averted. Soap opera continues. Everyone who's dead is not dead! Then there is a dinner party where every assassin in the room goes stupid. Everyone is dead again! Nick is carted away by an old enemy. Finally, we get a small dose of Fucking Ford (Forrrd! I love you!!! )and Sasha finds her FurEver home. The End.

Epilogue One. Sucks fucking ass. *see above mentioned Mystery a Man book for kickass epilogue lesson*

Epilogue Two. This is intriguing setup for a Sasha book. Is she being recruited by the government? Or is it the Fucking COMPANY!?

End of book shit thoughts: This book was a meh soap opera mess. I still fucking love J. A. Huss. But please , please Ms. Huss, don't go KA publisher crazy on me yet. I love your stories, really.

P. S. I can't wait for Merc's book!

‘I don’t know if a single person can say they understand their loyalties these days.’

We love this series but we have to admit it also confused the hell out of us. It’s so fast paced and there’s so many conspiracies and double crossings. No one is who they appear to be and just who is after who? Also, the various intricate connections, well, they did lose us at times…..yeah its one hell of a crazy ride. However despite that, some things did become clearer and the addictive intensity and JA Huss’ writing made this yet another furious page turner for us.

“Don’t be too eager for that happy ending…Because getting there is the fun part.”

It’s funny because one minute you have an aahhhh moment then the next you’re like oh…damn. We enjoyed that about this series to a large extent. On the other hand, at times it became too convoluted and twisty. Yet, we were riveted needing to know everyone’s roles and motives and who hired who and why?

‘When death is right there – all you gotta do is reach out and he’ll pull you across that thin veil and make it all end, once and for all.’

The writing, as always, is flawless – so perhaps less twists and a more explanatory ending would have made this story perfection. We kind of needed final answers which we didn’t really get, especially after such an emotional and intense journey for our fucked up characters. In a way some avenues were left open so we hope we’ll still get that final resolution.

‘We’re all guilty. We’re all killers. We’re all wary of each other.’

We’ve been with these complex characters: James, Harper and Sasha, who we love, through a crazy arsed journey. Ruthless, violent, vindictive, sly, cunning and manipulative. We both despaired in frustration and swooned when the obsessive passion became overwhelmingly intense.

‘He kisses me like he’s the wind. Like he’s the sea. Like he’s the desert. He kisses me and he tastes like freedom.’

Now, the epilogues, yes we said epilogueS…. FORD!!!! We swooned when we came upon this and it was so beautiful and emotional. Then…then a second epilogue!!!! Well JA Huss now has us gagging for what’s coming next! We can’t recommend this author highly enough – every series we’ve read are definitely must read’s.

Uf! I'm done. I've finished reading this t(h)rilogy and my mind is a mess.
I can't get a grip, I mean I can, now that is done, but I can't get my thoughts in order and I'll try to say it otherwise...

"...Dizzy, I'm so dizzy my head is spinning, Like a whirlpool it never ends..." Timmy Roe sings about a girl making him dizzy and

here I am, just lost in this major clusterf*ck of
multiple characters James, Harper, Sasha,
then WTF? there's another James?!

WAIT, WHAT?!

No, that's Vincent and hello there, nice-to-finally-meet-you Nick

Jesus! And finally when i was starting to get some answers i get involved in a corporate web of lies and deceit, spies, assasins, criminals and I just wanted to KNOW, just like James:

"And so this is the test. Who works for who is a question I’ve had no solid answer to for a very long time."

i was like

after that I was pulled into hardcore action

necks snapping

badass guns firing

kidnapping/bringing one back/happy ever after (if that is even possible in this corporate criminal affair)

and then the author throws another opening cliffy right into my face...

YES, you damn right, I'm gonna read that tooo!!!

Well what can I say other than this has signature J A Huss written all over it. Honestly, all three books in the "Dirty, Dark & Deadly" series were such a whirlwind of mind fuckery and craziness, I didn't know if I was coming or going half the time but it was brilliant because I was kept on my toes from the first page to the last, gripped by the plot that unfolded before my very eyes. You know that saying "it does what it says on the tin?" Well that can definitely be said about this series. These books were pure and utter filth, they were pretty dark at times and yes, they were oh so very deadly. It was like reading a combination of The Bourne series and La Femme Nikita. Pure brilliance with an element of romance, some very hot sex thrown in for good measure and of course a few taboo topics just to spice things up.
“You’re the perfect combination of hard and soft. Killer and lover. Sweet and deadly.”

I absolutely loved the theme of assassins and the "company." it was just genius. There were so many plot twists and curve balls and I just couldn't work out these characters to save my life. Who was lying and who was telling the truth? I wanted to believe all of the leading characters because I really did take a shine to each of them but very quickly it became obvious that they all had secrets they were hiding. I desperately tried to work out whether these were for the greater good. I tried in vain to guess possible double crossings and motives for each character but it was a hopeless task. When the characters were ready, I guess they would share. Despite all of this, I rooted for each of them as individuals, as killers, as a team and as a family (of sorts). Sounds crazy right? Well everything about this series was CRAZY!!!
If death is a deal, then love is a promise.

We first met Sasha in Ford's book and it was brilliant seeing her take on more of a leading role. This girl was something else and I rooted for the child she was but the adult she had been forced to become. The company really did have a lot to answer for.

James Finicci again was a character we met in Ford's book. We were only introduced to him briefly but boy have I loved getting to know this alpha assassin better. And Harper, this girl was seriously kick ass. In one breath she was still a young woman at eighteen discovering herself and her sexuality but in another breath, she too had been forced to grow up way to quickly, again courtesy of the company.
He kisses me like he’s the wind. Like he’s the sea. Like he’s the desert. He kisses me and he tastes like freedom.

This series was full of heroes and heroines, victims and villains and of course so much action and drama, I could see a film/ tv series being made out of the books.

What a phenomenal, fantastic, gripping, thrilling, violent, tension filled, completely addictive cluster fuck of a series that ended with such a perfect epilogue. There were so many familiar faces that came out to say hi. Wow, just wow. The whole series gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are nothing but a clusterfuck of double and triple crossings tonight.

We love this series but we have to admit it also confused the hell out of us. It’s so fast paced and there’s so many conspiracies and double crossings. I kept trying to figure out where this was going and kept getting surprised! Loved this series!!! Action packed, suspenseful, sexy, funny, touching...it had it all! :) So excited to read Sasha's book...she steals the show when she is in the scene!!! James and Harper xo! OH and a small cameo, but I thought I couldn't love Ford anymore than I already did....I was wrong!

I really enjoyed the whole series, but Coming for You left me with mixed feelings. Mainly toward the end parts left me feeling like huh?? That's it??? Really?? When I was expecting deep intricate conclusions to all the lies and betrayal laid out in the first two.

**The Dirty, Dark and Deadly series has been re-released in KU as one book called The Company. I’m only writing one review for all 3 books. (Come, Come Back, Coming for You) I believe this says it can read as a standalone, but you are going to be missing information because this storyline was introduced in Spencer’s book, and won’t be complete until Wasted Lust: Sasha (8) . I’ll add a link to a summary of all the books at the end.**

Spoilers from Guns: The Spencer Book

If death is a deal, then love is a promise.

To catch everyone up, at the end of Spencer’s book, we learned that Bobby Mansi was actually Company assassin James Fenici AKA Tet & Six. He killed his evil brother Tony as a debt to Merc, who had a debt to Ford. Tony was Ford’s wife, Ashleigh's fiancé and Baby Kate’s biological father. During this standoff, Ashleigh's sis, Amber was killed by Tony. James had loved Amber, but left her so she’d marry another. He also killed the crooked FBI agent in prison so the gang didn’t have to go to trial. At the end while speaking to Merc, he stated that he had failed his psych eval, and was being sent somewhere for a vacation.

If I tell you to walk through fire, it’s because I know beyond a doubt that you are fireproof. If I tell you to take a bullet, it’s because I know that you are bulletproof. If I tell you to walk away from me, it’s because you know I will come back for you. No matter what I tell you to do, you will do it, and you will be safe because I said so. Because I love you. Because you trust my love.”

The Company follows 28-yr-old Company assassin James, and 18-yr-old Company girl Harper, and is my favorite book of the series. The next three books have more of an action/secret organization vibe to it rather than just focusing on the relationship aspect that we saw in the other Rook & Ronin books. Sasha is also in the mix, and we get a lot of background on her. (She met Ford in his book, and he learned that her father was killed) So to break it down…

James is a smidge crazy, he was given to the Company by his parents, and has been an assassin since he was 16. He also spent some time being tortured when he was captured during a mission.
Harper is the Admiral (boss of Company) and has lived secretly on a boat. She’s been sheltered to a certain degree, but has some combat skills that she learned from her twin, Nick. (His storyline completes in Sasha’s book)
Sasha is a 13-yr-old orphan that has been trained by her father, a Company assassin trainer. They’ve lived off-grid in a RV traveling as arms dealers.

“This isn’t your fight, lionfish. This one’s mine. So save your moves for something else.” And then he kisses my mouth and slaps my ass. “I got this. The only thing I want you to do is let me fuck you. Let me make this world safe for us. And let me keep you forever.”

This is a long one, and there’re a lot of moving parts, but I enjoyed it. I really like fictional crazy H’s that are nutso, but love their women. There’re so many twisty turns, and I was eating it up.

Bottom Line- Great read for me, but if you hated the second ½ of Spencer’s book then you might not like this one. *All the books are listed HERE.

******Original Review****
VERY Confusing to figure out which book!!!
I believe these books Come... Come back and Coming to you are now part of the Rook and Ronin series under The Company. This is just my guess since I can't find these books and The Company is 662 pages about James and Harper:) Ms. Huss has re-released, renamed her books many times, so if your as confused as me hopefully this will help.
Tragic, manic & Panic = Rook and Ronin
Slack & Taut = Ford
Bomb & Guns = Spencer
Come, Come Back & Coming to you = The Company
Meet me in the Dark = Merc

James was introduced previously in the book Guns which I believe was Spencer's final book. He was the brother of Tony (Ford's wife's ex) and dating her sister. You don't have to read it first but it will set up this series much better if you do.

Both James are Harper have ties to the company. There are many twist and turns and it is a great read.

6 Triple Crossing Stars!

"And all this stuff about James being crazy— yeah, I can see that too. He’s totally psycho. I grin again. But that’s just part of his charm."

So dreamy. I can't help my need for killers. Swoon.

The last book in the Dirty, Dark, and Deadly Series. You definitely have to read these in order. It was long overdue to read this one, so I had to suck it up and say goodbye to James & Harper. I really didn't want to let these characters to go.

This was a past paced story of secret organizations, hit men born to become killers with only one thing on their mind, revenge. I love books with action, suspense, and murder. JA Huss concocted the perfect recipe, all the ingredients that I love. The full enchilada. This series has to be right up there with Rook & Ronin and the spin-offs. Pure brilliance, the plot twists blew my mind. Always expect the unexpected with JA. Who can trust who? You have to find that out for yourself.

"If you’re gonna kill someone , you finish the job or die trying."

There's an intertwining of characters from JA's other series that make it more special to me. It could be two sentences from a past character that will have me feeling all fuzzy. I can't go into too much but Sasha's end was phenomenally written, I had tears running down my face. This book ends the story for James & Harper, but I know for a fact, we will get glimpses in future books, just like we do with the team. I can't wait for Merc, Sasha, or she could write about a fish, that would be fine.

"You’re officially part of the Team now, Cherlin. But first things first. I need you to hate Ronin . No matter how charming he is, you must not fall for it. He may be on the Team too, but we’re mortal enemies till the end."

Que the tears. Amazing Huss! Simply Amazing.

I'll be honest I was confused throughout more than half of the book and even when I finally finished it. So many secrets that still didn't make sense or plot twists that I couldn't piece together. However, I still really enjoyed the book and I'm actually more excited to read about Sasha and Nick's story!

I agree with the other posts that there needed to be more Harper & James chapters because they were apart for quite sometime in the book. Also

The author could have been a script writer for LOST with all the unanswered questions and plot twists.

I need inside Nick's head really bad because I couldn't quite figure out if I liked him or not.

5 STARS!

I freaking loved this book.
Like MORE than Come and Come Back put together.

First, Holy action baby! I didn't know what to expect while reading it but don't fear...everything comes together so perfectly in the end. Second, with regards to Epilogue 2 .. I WANT! NOW!

Coming for You was the perfect mix of Harper, James, and Sasha...with just the right amount of F#$%ing Ford mixed in! It had J.A.'s signature twisty plot, steamy hot sex scenes, swoonworthy romance (James and Harper...*SIGH*), and plenty of suspense. I loved everything. And that ending. Yeah. Mind Blown. I really don't know how J.A. does it but she's so flippin' talented.

Have you read Dirty, Dark, and Deadly Yet? You need too.

~3 - 3.5 stars~
I'm probably the only person who loved Come and Come Back but not this one. I don't know if it was the emphasis or the many chapters given to Sasha but I wanted more of Harper & James. Don't get me wrong, I love Sasha but I sort of wished the author would've saved most of it for her book with Nick.
So why I didn't love this book?
Aside from too-much-Sasha, I subtracted 1 star because I felt robbed by not getting enough of Harper and James as a couple. (Not fair.)
Then, minus 1/2 star because we get a semi-Epilogue. Why did Sasha get a 10-year- later but James and Harper didn't? I need a real Epilogue.
All in all, it's a good story and had a decent ending. But We all like different things and this one just didn't cut it for me.

Awesome 5+++++++ stars!

I need to find a new way to say that JA Huss rocks!!!

Let me think a while....

I keep thinking THIS ONE is my favorite, NO THIS ONE is my favorite Huss book.... I love them all!!! I will HAPPILY REREAD THEM ALL... MULTIPLE TIMES!!!

So much is happening in this book. I cannot comment on anything without spoiling!

I feel trapped between my passionate love for this book and my need to keep company secrets.

SIGH!!! I ADORE SASHA!!! She is my favorite female character of all time. (As far as the few brain cells not fried by the heat of this book can remember)

Stop reading my review and go read or reread Huss' books. She is a much better writer!!! Lol

That was one crazy twisted fabulous ending to James and Harper's story. Love how close and protective they are of Sasha. Sasha is one kick butt chick!! Nick and Sasha were adorable in this book. I have a feeling their story will be sexy and intense. He wanted her to choose her life and the man she loves....I think she will choose him. She probably has some pent up anger because of what he "chose" to do.....Love their Epilogue. Need to read their book!! There were so many crazy twists in this. But, she answers a lot of questions. We even get a little of Ford in this too. Just a fabulous ride and so glad we are getting more. Looking forward to read more about Merc and then Sasha and Nick. Loved it!

Perfect resolution to yet another great series from this amazingly talented author. This one was way darker and more violent than the Rook & Ronin series, which started it all, but as romantic thrillers go, it was absolutely superb. With a very convoluted plot, it still reminded me of Nikkita and Alias, and I completely loved the amazing encore at the end with the entire Rook & Ronin cast. I've been so hooked on these interconnected series for several weeks that it seems my mind has been with these people most of my day. Pining for the end of the day, so work will end and I could go back to my book.

Another winner for JA Huss. No idea how she can churn so many great books one after another as if it is easy.
