Darcy finds herself in another murder mystery while assisting a friend in locating a house. During her investigation Darcy discovers an interesting history about the house that involves a diamond heist that took place about 30 years ago. Eventually Darcy discovers the identity of the killer and finds herself with a new place or home to call her own. I still enjoy this series and likes the characters.

I really enjoy a cozy mystery with a sound plot, humor, and quirky characters.

This one delivers just what I ordered. Nothing serious, complicated, or too intense.

Each book in the series has its own murder to solve and characters to get to know.

I was able to access this book series on my Kindle at no charge through my local public library.

And they all end with a H.E.A.

This was a nice addition to Blake's Witchcraft Series. The Enchanted Village full of Crafters is a wonderful place, and I love all of the details the author writes about the community and its citizens. Darcy is a wonderful main character, and she is surrounded by other great secondary ones - Nick, Mimi, Ve, Starla, Evan, Cherise, and the familiars Archie, Pepe, and Mrs. P., just to name a few. I enjoyed the storyline in Some Like it Witchy, and it sure kept me guessing right until the truth was revealed

Darcy is getting to be an old hand at stumbling upon dead bodies in Salem's Enchanted Village, and she's just done it again. Raina, a realtor, is dead in the house she was planning to show to Cherise and Darcy. It soon looks like her murder is tied to the heist of valuable diamonds thirty some odd years ago. The diamonds were never found, although many have looked for them in the house where Raina was found. It is obvious that someone is still after them at all costs. Several people seem to be good suspects and Darcy has her work cut out for her in her role as investigator for the Elder digging into the past to see where it leads.

This was a fun and entertaining book, and it was great to read about the inhabitants of the Enchanted Village again. The story kept me interested and delivered some surprises that I didn't expect. i'm already looking forward to seeing what will happen to Darcy and her family and friends next.

At this point I am invested in the series. I want to see Darcy and Nick grow as a couple and find out what comes next with kooky aunt Ve. I love all the crafters she has befriended in town, getting their backstories as the series progresses. This book takes more of a turn in things and we learn about Darcy and Harper’s history.

The mystery here felt a bit darker than previous books. There are far more sinister things afoot than expected. There are several breadcombs that drop in this book and I expect will be nabbed in the next book. I am dying to know who the elder is and when Darcy will find out about Missy/Mel being a familiar.

The whole book, as usual, is from Darcy’s POV. This limits us to her knowledge, it kind of makes you a part of solving the mystery with her. This one was pretty obvious from the start, but the getting there was entertaining as always.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Coleen Marlo, who has either gotten better or my ears are used to her. Probably a little of both! She does have a very brisk pace, which I prefer. I like her but of sass for Darcy and she handles character voice changes very well. So many characters to keep track of, it is a wonder she keeps them all separate and consistent!

I am ready for the next book, unfortunately, it is not ready for me! I so hate waiting for books to release on audio. I will strive for patience, but no promises!

I have started this review at least 6 times in the past few weeks. I cannot seem to find the right words to adequately review Some Like It Witchy. I may need to get Heather Blake to help me review her own book!
The more I read of Heather Blake, the more I wish I was related to her. I always feel like I know Darcy, like I am her in a sense. Need to take a break from this universe and slip into another one temporarily? Read Some Like It Witchy. Having a bad day and need to heal your soul? Pick up anything by Ms. Blake and you will instantly be swept away to a fantasy world still rooted in our own reality. Darcy and Harper are at it again in this latest installment. While helping a well known fellow Crafter house hunt, Darcy stumbles upon another murder in the not-so-sleepy Enchanted Village. From the first page to the last sentence, you will be on the edge of your seat with a pit in your stomach, a lump in your throat (thanks to Nick Sawyer) and reaching to squeeze your dog tight all at the same time. If you weren't suspicious of your cat before, you will be now.
The only thing that will do this book justice is not another review- it's to read the book. And the one before that...and the one before THAT. Another thing I am dying to know (no pun intended) is, "Does Darcy still go for her morning run?"

I really should have taken notes while I was reading this.

I liked this book just as much as the rest of them.

The town that is created is so cute and charming. I like how it’s filled with both magical people and non magical people. They don’t know who is magical and who isn’t.

I also think that Darcy and her sister are so cute together.

There’s not only the mystery of the book but the greater mystery of who the Elder is. Although I think I know who it is from the last book. I’m a little upset that they didn’t mention who it was in this book. But I guess there’s always the next book.

The mystery of this edition was really good. I love who it ended up being. I was also able to figure out who it was which always excites me way more than it probably should.

This is a great mystery for anyone who likes cozy mysteries and magic/witch books.

Another great Wishcraft mystery by Heather Blake.

With growing anticipation I awaited the publication of Some Like It Witchy and thankfully I was not disappointed by the quality of the story and the continuing development of the characters.

The writing was as always delightful. It contain a nice flow that had the reader feeling like the narrator was only speaking to the reader.

The story itself was very concise, without any superfluous details that could distract from the loveliness of this series. Having said that, after waiting many months to finally be reading a new story by the author, the story, being so compact, it almost felt too short. The story only spans two days.

Overall, this story is a delightful continuation of the Wishcraft mystery series and as always has the reader waiting with anticipation for the next installment.

My thoughts: 🔖 Page 62 of 311 Chapter Six - This is very good so far. I'm glad I decided to continue the series.
🔖92 Chapter Nine - I definitely need to finish this series because I barely know who half of these people are.
🔖121 Chapter Twelve - And just like that I'm off, I may have to read Chapter 11, and I'm lost and too sleepy to fully comprehend her moves.
🔖197 Chapter Twenty - I was supposed to stop at Chapter Eighteen but I couldn't stop and now I don't know if I should switch to my other book or finish as I've been baited and hooked by the mom's storyline.
🔖209 Chapter Twenty-Two - This is so good. I would gossip more if I were Darcy. I have to drive so I'm switching to an audiobook with family and I know just the one.

This was the best story, in my memory, so far I'm going to try to finish the series this month. For a cozy mystery, I was late to the party guessing the killer. She got me.

Recommend to others: Yes. This is a fantastic series, would make a nice television series.

Between book 1 & 5 this series has improved. I read the first book and enjoyed it and was interested in finding out if it had gotten better. This mystery was better than the first, as would be expected. Darcy now has a good reason to get involved with solving murders in the Enchanted Village. The Elder has made Darcy the ‘Craft snoop’. If a witch or anything to do with the craft is involved in a murder Darcy is asked to help solve it, and cover up the craft’s involvement.

Not having read the other books in the series that come before this one wasn’t really a problem. I knew the main characters and the author supplies a brief recap of the history with the other (newer to me) characters, which I found helpful.

I was excited to know Archie, Pepe and Mrs. P are even more important to the story than they were in the first! I adore all three of them.

There are several little mysteries mixed in with the main murder one. A lot of people are keeping secrets in this book and we only discover some of the many. Well planned Heather Blake. You leave me no choice but to find more of this series. You leave lots of unanswered questions that I want to know the answer to!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest and fair review.

Let me start by saying that I adore this series. Heather Blake weaves a magical tale full of twists, turns, and fun in every book she writes. I had high hopes for this book and was not let down.

This book starts out almost a year after her coming to the Enchanted Village. Darcy and her sister Harper have settled into their new hometown and are thriving. Ve is running for election because the current incumbent (a mortal, who knows nothing of the craft) wants to raise the Enchanted Forest where the Elder's tree is and put in a new housing development. So for the majority of the novel Aunt Ve's main focus is the election and of course her crazy, tumultuous love life. A recluse has passed away and her house is now on the market, in the heart of town, with a treasure hunters dream story. There is rumor that after a diamond heist, they hid the diamonds in the house but no one knows for sure. The FBI have searched the house multiple times and believe them to not be there. However, that doesn't stop treasure hunters or crafters who know there is a spell on the property to keep unwanted people out. When this recluse, Eleta, passes, the spell is broken and as any cozy mystery ready can tell you, murder was afoot.

Darcy and 2 others find the body of Raina, the real estate agent selling the property. Speculations arise as to motive as this is a prime location in the Enchanted Village, the rumors that the diamonds are still there, a TV producer who is in town trying to get a house hunting show going and hoping to use the house for the first episode, and of course Andreus, the charmcrafter who gives most people the heebie jeebies when he is cast in shadow and brings the Roving Stones around twice a year shows up.

Throughout this book, I kept going back and forth as to who the culprit was. I would have suspicions and then they would go away. Heather Blake is wonderful that way. Every book I have read has kept me guessing. That is something to be prized in mystery novels. We learn more about Darcy's mother, which I appreciate because I feel that even though she passed away, she affects Darcy every day, by her caring nature, her love, even her nosiness. The regulars come to play, Starla, Vince, Evan, Cherise, Nick, Mimi, and even Glinda, whom I still really don't like even though she has a horrible person for a mother.

This book will keep you going into the wee hours of the night. I started it at 11:00 pm and didn't finish till 3:00 (the witching hour, haha!). I fell in love with these characters all over again and I know anyone who is a fan of the series or wanting to try a new one will not be disappointed in this book. The ending will leave you happy, even if it was a bit rushed once we found out who it was.

The thing I wish was better was the wrap up with Noelle, Kent, and Calliope.

I give the book 4.5 stars out of 5. It was a magickal dance full of mystery, family, friends, and learning that appearances are not always what they seem and I cant wait for the next one to come out.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!

Darcy Merriweather is wishcrafter, meaning she can grant wishes, with the exception of bringing someone back from the dead or money. Boy, those are two wishes I wish for every day :) but she is able to grant some really wonderful wishes. She also runs a personal concierge business call As You Wish with her Aunt Ve.

In this installment Darcy is taking care of the business and Aunt Ve is running for town council. As You Wish has been hired to help Curecrafter Cherise Goodwin find the perfect home. Cherise has decided the perfect home for her is right next door to her ex and Darcy has been unable to change her mind, so they go to take one last look at the house before the final bid. Darcy just has an inkling something bad is going to happen and it does. They find their real estate agent, Raina, dead on the floor. This is when dating the police chief has its advantages. They kinda work together to solve the crime. I am sure Nick wishes she would leave the investigating to him but that is one wish she definitely will not be granting.

Again, I escaped right into this story and enjoyed every minute. All of the characters are special, the setting is as the name says, enchanting, and plot and subplots are fun, entertaining and tricky too. So many secrets are whirling around The Enchanted Village. Some humorous, one that made Darcy, her sister and me all say”EW”, o.k. I said it with a little giggle, and others that lead you deeper into the story of why the realtor had to die. There is also a big secret that I think I know the answer to. Maybe it will be revealed in the next book.

Heather Blake is a gifted storyteller. Every one of these characters came alive in these pages and I truly “WISH” they were real. I want to pack my bags and move there today. She has created a modern day fairy tale, that tests our minds as we follow the clues and puts a smile on your face throughout the whole story.

Each story on this series builds from the last as Darcy learns more and more about her gift and this very unique tourist hot spot. That is why I recommend starting at the beginning. That being said the author gives enough information to really jump in anywhere.

Some Like It Witchy – I sure do!

Some Like It Witchy is the sixth book in the A Wishcraft Mystery series.

It was exciting to visit The Enchanted Village and Darcy Merriweather once again.

Cherise Goodwin is interested in buying the old Tavistock house, that is two doors from where Darcy is living with her Aunt Ve, and has asked Darcy to do a walk-thru with her before she submits a bid on the home. The home is a classic fixer-upper and Darcy know Cherise can find a better house, but Darcy agrees to go with her. They arrive at the house only to find the real estate agent, Raina Gallagher hasn't gotten there as a yet. Soon Calliope, Raina assistant arrives and they are able to gain assess to the house, but soon find the dead and battered body of Raina inside. Darcy notices that in Raina hand is a gemstone amulet. The house was originally owned by Eleta Tavistock and has quite a history attached to it. The major thing being that Sebastian Woodshall, Eleta's fiance, had stolen some very valuable diamonds and reportedly had stashed them somewhere in the house. An informer had notified the police of Sebastian's whereabouts and he was killed in a shootout. The diamonds have never been found and possibly someone had broken into the house to look for them and was surprised by Raina. The first person that Darcy thinks of is Andreus Woodshall, Sebastian's son, a member of The Roving Stones, and who just happens to be in town. The Elder has told Darcy that she is on the case to find out who had murdered Raina. But Darcy has to focus in on others, too. Kent Gallagher, Raina's husband, is possibly having an affair with Calliope and also wants to develop some land in the Enchanted Forest that is soon to be voted on by the council.

Most all the characters from previous books are back and most are there to help Darcy as works to find the killer. Also back are the enjoyable familiars, Archie the macaw who continue try and stump Darcy on quotes from movies. Also back are Mrs. P and Pepe, who hand out in the dress shop.

Definitely be waiting for the next book in this fun series.

I’m a long-time fan of Heather Blake’s, and this is one of my favorite series. Darcy Merriweather is a wishcrafter – she grants wishes for others in the magical village near Salem, MA. She’s always been drawn to the property near her aunt’s house, but it’s not until the current dies can anyone even enter the house. Even though she secretly wishes she could buy the house, she must help her good friend Cherise on her quest to have the winning bid on the property. But while touring the house, they come upon the real estate agent dead in one of the upstairs rooms. Raina is clutching a magical amulet in one hand, and there’s a bloody letter A on the wall.

Darcy begins investigating with her usual cast of friends, and among them are Nick, her Sherriff boyfriend; her sister Harper, who is desperate to get involved in the case; and even her arch nemesis Glinda. Secrets begin to come to light, and Darcy digs deeper, discovering one of the biggest secrets of all is about her own family, and it will change her future.

Ms. Blake has brought these characters to life, and built a world so magically real that I’d love to live in this town. I like getting to know the characters and following their stories and lives in this series – it makes it so much richer than if this was a stand-alone book. This is the fifth in the series, and I really hope it goes on for years. As this series progresses, the author has kept interest going by carefully revealing secrets, and throwing out more teasers sure to keep you reading.

Bravo once again, Ms. Blake!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think this may be one of my favorite books in this series yet. There were more mysteries about the residents of the Enchanted Village and I loved the diamond heist tie in. It kind of gave a little history aspect to the book. Darcy is learning a little more of her past as well. As much as I have not liked Glinda I did like seeing a different side of her coming out. I like how Darcy is also thinking more about her future with Nick. I really like him and like that he is now letting Darcy do some sleuthing without getting upset with her. Aunt Ve is a real character and I feel just like Darcy and Harper when they find out about her "personal affairs" ew. It is also fun watching Mimi grow up and be more involved in things. All in all a great book and I am not liking that I have to wait a year for the next book in this series.

This is a fantastic addition to the Wishcraft Series. It's always amazing how Heather Blake has intertwined all of the characters from the beginning so we learn new things about them in every book and “Some Like it Witchy” is no exception. Although new characters are introduced, some old favorites are given new dimensions that make the series even more interesting to read. The plot is steady and the writing is clear so you move through the book with ease and there are enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing until the very end. Book 5 also leaves the reader wanting more by leaving some issues unresolved and begging for more. It’s an irresistible read that you won’t want to put down.

I LOVE this series! I've said before that I don't think Ms. Blake/Webber knows how to write a bad book, and this one is further proof of that. I've come to love all the characters in this series. They grow and change, which is such a great thing. In so many series that just doesn't happen. This was a great story and even though I had an idea whodunit, I think that just added to the story for me. The hints as to who the Elder is were good ones, so now I'm sure I know who she is. Anxiously awaiting the "reveal" on that....along with the next book in this series! RECOMMEND!!

It seems like with this book Darcy learned more about the village and her place in it. I really liked the surprised that Darcy learned at the end.

I think it is funny how all of Darcy's friends and family are starting to make fun of her for finding dead bodies. This time around I found myself being stunned with who the bad guy was, didn't see that coming nor the reason why.

Just finished this bad boy today and have to say Blake is really coming into her own with this series. I've been reading since book one and felt like the series was good but had much potential to go and was really fluffy the first couple of books. But now with Some Like It Witchy things are really settling down more and Darcy(the main character) is turning into someone I not only LIKE to read about, but someone that is layered enough that I WANT to read about. So that aside on to my review.

Synopsis: It's real estate season in the Enchanted Village and everyone is out for one hot piece of property, The old Tavistock house. Even Darcy whom has felt settled with the way things are in her life with Nick and with As You Wish business she helps to run with her aunt Ve. But once the bidding gets under way, something a little more interesting than falling shingles begins to shake loose about the old Tavistock place and it's former owner. And of course Darcy is charged with finding out what is what, as all of it ties back to the craft in more ways than one...

What I liked about the book:

-As previously stated, I'm really enjoyed Darcy's character in this book. She still has some of her old flufflier charms. But she really reads like a real person now, more so than before. So much so, that I don't even mind that the real person she is becoming is a busy body, lol.

-Mimi is a year older and finally Blake is showing her as not being so involved in the murder discussions amongst the adults. She did her fair share of asking of questions. But even at the library she was about her own research and biz. I really loved that. Could be because she is heading towards teen years more now. But even still, as a 13 year old, I feel like she should be staying in her own lane more.

-The depth we are seeing in Darcy and Nick's relationship. It's no longer the typical feel of the bumbling amateur sleuth and the real cop teasing each other before getting romantically involved. Got to see them having real differences of opinions, she was even bringing in the bit of a woman's "touch" to his and Mimi's house, and I love they have family dinners at his house or her aunt's with Ve and Mimi and Harper there too. It's really heartwarming and I love it. :)

-The laugh out loud moments I had with regard to Darcy always talked to Andreus in day light or well lit areas ALL the time. That was so hilarious. But does make me wonder if ol' Andre is deliberately doing something to make his appearance be all Jekyll and Hyde like or does Darcy have a hidden ability to see his true face or something? Hmm...

-I think we got two really big hints finally about the Elder. And I guess who it might even be. Loves that!!

-It's good seeing more family connections in the village too.

-Aunt Ve finally seems to be growing up romantically and seems like she will have a lasting relationship which is great.

What I disliked about the book:

-Although Blake knocked it out of the park with Darcy's much more real personality that I loved. I can see there is still some work that needs to be done with regard to how Darcy handles her mysteries. Without giving too much away, I will say that she has some really good speculative questions to ponder on. But I think Blake jumps the gun a bit on having Darcy pondering them soon. Especially if nothing has been confirmed or denied so early on in the book just yet. And having varying questions she is considering at one time got a touch confusing when she hadn't found anything yet, to base her opinions off of.

-Speaking of Darcy and her mysteries, not sure if I mentioned it in my last reviews or not. But for all of Blake's improvement in Darcy's character. I feel like she didn't really do much SOLVING of the mystery in this one. She had the questions, did some investigating, but it seemed like everyone around town had far more investment and actual ideals on who the real suspects were and Darcy found herself back at square one more times than not.

-My confusion over Darcy's trust. I get that her mom left her the fam biz. That goes without saying and there was some money. But I guess I'm confused on how much was it, that Harper's bookstore could be paid off and owned by her and Aunt Ve could also purchase another home for Darcy to move As You Wish to? As Ve said she got it for her with the trust. Which begs the question as to how many wishcrafters had to have been around the Enchanted Village to help Darcy's mom run the business to have brought in that much bacon to pay for two such big purchases like that!(cause even when Darcy was working with her aunt, the kind of jobs they take on seem like a lot for even TWO people to handle in one sitting. Let alone just the one now that Aunt Ve is not as involved any more).

-Probably didn't mention it in the last review. But I think the character of Glinda is really telling in regards to stuff about Mimi's mom. And I don't know, although I do believe there is good and bad in everyone. I feel like there is definitely something much more to Glinda and her mother at times for sure. And yet birds of a feather flocking together...and she was friends with Mimi's mom who also did Nick wrong too in a fashion. As had Glinda...so I don't know.

-One last additional somewhat dislike and yet like I have with the story. Darcy getting her own place independently of living with Ve. I think that is great since she is much more independent now than she was since her divorce(even she acknowledges that), but I wonder what does this mean for her and Nick? I mean earlier we see her helping him add a feminine touch to his place and a bit of hinting around at her eventually moving with him whenever...And yet they both admit to liking particular things about each house(to each other/individually) as to why they would choose either. And...I don't know, just seemed like their preferences might lead them in different directions down the road? There was even a bit of a hint of jealousy from Nick in regards to another guy Darcy had been talking to. I know Blake tried to say it was just Nick's past experience with his ex that was bringing it to the foreground, but maybe some foreshadowing there too....?

Who'd I rec it to?: Any and everyone that enjoys a good cozy. And also to folks that love a good witchy story too.

I'm burning through this series almost faster than I'd like, dang it. This book follows Darcy on yet another murder case. This time it's for the murder of a real estate agent. I was a bit annoyed at how dense Darcy can be, but you can attribute that to lack of sleep, being busy and distracted, etc. For a small village, there is a LOT going on! Glinda is turning out to be one of those characters that you REALLY want to dislike, but it's turning out that she might have some good in her, like when she's around Mimi. (Dang it all to heck.) Evan is still fun and this time he's got a slightly bigger role. Starla! Oh my gosh, Starla. I'm all for wanting to be independent, but gads, I feel bad for Vince. This book had me laughing out loud several times. There were the usual bouts of predictability, but as always, the ending doesn't disappoint. It's going to be hard when I finish the series. (It's got a real, "You want to find out what's happening, but at the same time you don't want it to be over" feel to it.) I'm at the point where I want Darcy to just FIND OUT ALREADY the stuff I've already guessed at. I mean, geez! Have more coffee and pull your head out of the clouds and see what's right in front of you! Crazy!

I like this book! The mystery was very good. There’s always a lot happening in the books in this series and in this one that really worked to the advantage of the mystery.
I also really like that Nick isn’t your typical cozy significant other. He actually likes that Darcy helps solve the cases. In some other series even though I like the significant other they can get on my nerves when they try to stop the investigator from helping solve the case. Nick is not like that at all. He wants to protect Darcy from actual danger it he would never stop her from looking into a mystery. She’s in independent woman and he doesn’t try to stop her or change her at all and I like that.

Love love love this series. This was my favorite book to date. So many questions answered. So many theories about the elder, the dove, and wondering if Missy has become just a dog or will reveal herself as a familiar. Wish I could start book 6 tonight! Any wishcrafters out there that can help? Haha

Another good installment of this series. It would be nice if Darcy could investigate just a plain old mystery though instead of always having a dead body turn up. If I lived in this village I think I'd steer clear of her.

2020 bk 33. This book was stronger than book 4 in the series - at least it fell better crafted (and I am not referring to wishcraft). The plot combined murder mystery, lost treasure, humorous scenes and ended with, er, that would be telling. Enjoy.

2.5 This was my least favorite book of the series. It didn’t have enough magic charm.

Decent addition to this series. It's starting to sound a bit incesestuous with how the characters are all related but no one knows how.
