Withers, Wayne F. Miller, P.H. Polk, Joe Schwartz, and Milton Williams.

Aligned to Common Core Standards

Natasha Trethewey was the United States Poet Laureate 2012–2013. She has written an original essay and reprinted two poems for this title.

Kinshasha Holman Conwill is the deputy director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Amazing isn't the word I'd choose, but I loved it. With the way Black women tend to get represented in media it's heartening to see the many different ways in which we have always existed.

This wasn't any big deal. Just pictures of Black women. Don't get the reason it is so wonderful. Sorry.
