Truly Delivers the Projects!

I rate this title four-star only because I cannot figure out the herringbone weave instructions.

Many inventive uses for weavies, from farm animals to purses to cacti, there appears to be an endless variety of objects to be made from the individual and complete fabric pieces that come off small looms.

There are instructions included for building pin looms in several configurations, 2 X 2, 2 X 4, etc., with snaps of the materials needed. The first section of the book tells us everything we need, from materials to skills, to create the 40 projects. Detailed notes accompany each project; there is a mini-seminar that is cumulative in developing technique in making and using the pin loom and its product.

Great artisan library addition.

This is an excellent resource book to have for all pin loom weavers.

The book includes:

~instructions for warping and weaving
~40 projects with detailed patterns
~Assembly instructions – it never hurts to learn new or refresh old joining techniques.
~Templates to build your own set of looms
~ 7 square patterns
~Beautiful color images

Even if the projects are not all to your taste, they are easy to modify. You just never know where you will find the spark for your next creation.

It has some ideas that I'd like to come back to later. It was an interesting introduction to pin looms, which I'd never heard of before. I'll check out some of the vintage ideas, like the author recommends.

Gave some good tips

I liked this book so well that I bought the print version since I can only view the Kindle version on my phone at this time.

Did you know you can weave patterns on a pin loom? Did you realize you can make a whole barnyard full of animals on a pin loom? ME NEITHER. But Margaret Stump knew it the whole time. This is The Book to get with your Zoom Loom. Anybody who likes primitive style fabric crafts could get into weaving from that side as well, since a number of these projects fit into that aesthetic.

Great book

if you are a spinner or a weaver and hate throwing out all of those tiny precious pieces of wool then this book is definitely for you. Perfect for thrums and yards of singles left on spools. Only two yards needed for a 2x2 pin loom and only 8 yards for a 4x4 pin loom. Got my box of tiny balls out two seconds after downloading this book.

Great instructions and ideas, but many of the projects are repetitive. I guess that's just the nature of the pin loom!
