Darkest Roads #1

Final Remains

Rate this book
During a cross country trek on their Indian Chief Classic motorcycles, former cellmates Jack Maxton and Nate Navarro are hurled head first into the supernatural realm, given powerful, upgraded bodies and bikes, and charged with the job of hunting and killing demons that possess, torture, and ritualistically murder their victims.

Aided by Farnsworth, a strange British fellow whose headquarters is a decaying, otherworldly morgue where the curious and gruesome processing of Final Remains is performed, Jack and Nate progress from being clumsy, ill trained demon fodder, to sophisticated demon killing machines.

From early encounters that go every kind of wrong, to major end-game battles where all hell literally breaks loose, Jack and Nate form a powerful, lifelong bond of friendship while drinking ice cold beer, smoking their beloved tobacco pipes, riding their powerful Indian cruisers, and kicking all kinds of demon-ass.

Final Remains is about bikers and the relationships that define them. It's about nail-biting action as down-to-earth dudes go up against massive evil forces. It's about sometimes ganking, and sometimes being ganked by, the bad things that lurk in the dark. And it's about laughing your ass off over sick, twisted situations that make you squirm.

"If you dig monster hunters, demon hunters, biker clubs, biker chicks, gnarly motorcycles, gritty, raw dialogue, good character development, and even some biker romance to boot, Final Remains will be a fast read that satisfies."
~ Jack Maxton

"If the Supernatural TV series had a one-nighter with Sons of Anarchy and conceived a foul-mouthed, ADHD bastard-child, you'd have the Final Remains book series."
~ Nathan Navarro

Final Remains is a profanely hilarious, chillingly gruesome, wild ride of a novel you're sure to enjoy—from first page to last.

The book is very different to read and they keep you on a edge all the time wondering what they will due next. But they keep you interested and want to keep reading.

DNF

I liked the premise of the book and when it started out it was good but then the dialogue got very juvenile and imo the hokiness of the dialogue just made me not want to read it anymore
