Drew Flynn is a horse trainer in Heavenwood. He loves horses, however one emotional night, he got on the back of a horse under the influence and hurt himself and spooked the horse. After the fall, he was prescribed pain medication, which he really started to rely on. His brothers and friends stood by him as he got off the meds to better himself, but he still didn’t feel quite like himself. He misses the girl who was the love of his life, but he hasn’t heard from her in almost a year
Lelia Barrett left Havenwood after a hard childhood, but is back after 11 months. She comes back with her brother, as well as a newborn, and is ready to settle back down so her newborn can be close to her father, Drew. She is mentally and physically healing from both her daughter’s birth, as well as her past trauma, and wants Drew in her daughter’s life. However when she tried to reach out to him when she found out she was pregnant, she never received a response.
This story is so very sweet. The perfect palette cleanser between romances, as it has no spice, but the story is still something very special. The book isn’t too long either, about 150 pages so it’s the perfect evening read for anyone looking for some mental health representation in their books, as well as a happy ending for everyone involved. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Havenwood!
