Bratva's Undoing #1

Bratva's Intern

Rate this book
They call me a businessman.

And that suits me fine.

Let them believe I built my empire with contracts and strategy.

Not blood, blackmail, and the resentment of a father who thought I had no place in his world.

Then Wren arrives.

Shy. Awkward. Unremarkable on paper.

The kind of intern meant to disappear into the background.

Until he throws himself in front of a blade meant for me.

Now he’s always at my side.

Craving the smallest scrap of praise like it’s air.

And I give it to him.

Not because he’s earned it.

But because I like who he becomes when he’s praised.

Bolder, braver, a little more mine each day.

I tell myself I can keep him close without letting him in.

But someone’s after me.

And if Wren keeps looking too closely, he won’t just see the truth.

He’ll get pulled into it.

I should push him away.

Protect him from the world I was born into.

But I won’t. I can't.

Because I’ve finally found something worth losing everything for.

And I’m not letting him go.

Bratva's Intern is Part 1 of a 2 Part series. Part 1 ends on s cliffhanger. Part 2 to be released shortly after.

I loved it. Captivating, intense, hot. I’m always up for a good boss/employee romance, although there is obvs much more to the boss, Maxim, than meets the eye.

I didn’t mind that some characters and interactions seemed elusive and suspicious and we haven’t gotten any answers—that’s what book 2 is for, I expect.

BUT! What I did mind was that one specific thing was set up and not addressed any further. It drove me nuts. At the very beginning of the book we learn that when Wren was still a boy one day his dad didn’t come home from one of his business trips. He was just gone. We then further learn, that Wren, an only mediocre student, has a full ride scholarship for his college education and gets this internship at Maxim’s company he never even applied to.

So yes, I HAVE QUESTIONS!! What happened to Wren’s dad? Why is his mother never mentioned again? Who’s paying for Wren’s college and who set up this internship and why?

It was indicated that Maxim know’s who Wren is—whatever that means. But what does it mean? Is there a connection to Wren’s dad going missing ten years ago?

I really hated that this part of the plot was set up right at the beginning and then practically NOTHING for the rest of this 350-pages book.

I hope book 2 is shedding some (or rather all the) light on it. And as for this first one… it was weird that Gianni kept everything so damn vague, didn’t really tell us anything, practically kept us in the dark with everything. I’m not even sure (except a connections to Wren’s past - if there even is one) what answers I’m even seeking in book two. I’m actually pretty confused I’m realizing while writing this…

“You wanted me, Mr. Morozov?” Too damn much.

Mafia boss Maxim shouldn’t be falling for his soft yet fiery new intern… but Wren seems to be too irresistible.

A sexy boss vs intern romance, an insta-lust explosion of passion, a little tickle of plot with lots to build on for future installments.

“Ten out of five stars,” he whispered. “Would absolutely get wrecked again.”

Loved Maxim’s possessiveness and protectiveness for Wren. We don’t know much about their backstory just yet, but I’m curious to see where this series will take them.

I was so into seeing Wren and Max get closer, the ending caught me by surprise. What do you mean it’s already over??
I’m definitely looking forward to more action and romance from these two.

I no longer know how to survive without you,” he murmured, voice so low it vibrated down my spine. “And I don’t want to learn how.”

I loved this story from the moment these two had their coffee encounter. Wren's determination to stand on the moral grounds of not cutting in line, while Maxim is taken aback by a stranger being so forceful and demanding. This moment shows the difference in their personalities and how clear their chemistry is. I knew I would be addicted to this story as it moves so effortlessly.

Maxim is a man of complete control, order, and discipline, whereas Wren is a bit flustered and unprofessional, which creates many tense, uncomfortable, and utterly electric moments between them. I also love the growth of Maxim's fascination and obsession with Wren. He has no idea why he's so drawn to this clumsy, insecure young man, but he quickly develops a fondness that becomes much more intense. Wren, on the other hand, remains completely aloof to his boss's growing attraction and obsession, which leads to many hilarious misunderstandings and assumptions.

Overall, this is a very fun office romance that gradually uncovers the dark underworld of Maxim's Russian Bratva, which is why the ending is a great stopping point—Maxim's secret world is slowly unraveling, putting Wren in unnecessary danger. I can't wait for part 2 and look forward to reconnecting with these characters again, who are so entertaining and addictive.

The beginning of this story was exceptional. Maxim and Wren were the perfect characters for a story like this. Everything about them, from their appearance, confidence level, age, and station in life, was different, and it made seeing them dance around each other, slowly falling for each other, incredibly gratifying. I was really rooting for them.

At some point after the halfway mark, the story lost its hold on me. I still enjoyed it, but I wasn't really buying Maxim's attraction to Wren, and that influenced my perception of the story moving forward. Wren wasn't anything special, and to be fair to him, he never claimed to be. He didn't have any plans or aspirations beyond college, besides Jess he didn't have any friends (not knocking, cause I don't even have a Jess), and he just didn't seem very bright. Even if I could accept that Maxim was intrigued by this seemingly unexceptional boy who stood up to him in a coffee shop, I could not accept that he actually fell in love with him. To me, that came out of nowhere. I'm not saying it could not happen, I'm saying I didn't see it. It wasn't conveyed to me in a believable way.

I'm curious enough about the mystery surrounding Wren's father that I will be reading book 2, but the initial enthusiasm I had at the beginning of the story isn't there anymore. I can already imagine Wren's annoying reaction when he finds out about Maxim's illegal activities and I'm already rolling my eyes. 3.5 stars

Read in another buddy read with the always lovely Lilly ❤️

Here we goooo!!! A new series by this author and I am absolutely loving it! And also, I was so scared while reading we'd have a WILD cliffhanger, thankfully that does NOT happen and it ends on a fairly good, steady note.

Of course there is still more story to be told, questions to be answered, and Maxim and Wren end the story on a happy for now note, so they still need their HEA, but this first installment ends on a fairly nice, calm note and they're in a good enough place for now at the end too.

So if you were worried about diving into this one before the second comes out, because this is a duology for this couple, no worries! I didn't even feel right tagging this with "cliffhanger" because while it ends with story threads unsolved, with so many unanswered questions, we didn't have a "holy shit" kind of ending either.

So, definitely highly recommend diving into this as soon as it is published, it's SO good!

Maxim is part of he Bratva, but runs a legit business as well, and when Wren is called in for an interview for an internship at his company, Wren is unaware of his mob ties, and it stays that way throughout this story. The big question is when and how Wren will find out that the man he's falling for is a mafioso man.

We also still don't know how Wren was considered for an interview for the internship at Maxim's company, as he didn't submit an application. Who submitted his name in, then?

I wonder about that. We get a prologue in the beginning about Wren's father and that he disappears on Wren's 12th birthday 10 years prior to current day. Just straight up disappears and he and his mother never hear from him again.

So...is the father somehow involved with the Bratva? Is he living in the shadows, helping Wren out in his life? Or is it someone else completely who submitted Wren's name? Who knows.

BUT, before said interview, Wren and Maxim meet in a meet...kinda cute? Lol it's more like Maxim cuts in line and Wren, at the front of the line, protests and stands up to Maxim. Of course, Maxim is already intrigued by Wren from the get go from this.

When he sees Wren leaving the interview for the internship at his company, it's no doubt that he offers the internship to Wren even though he didn't finish his interview and ran out on it. Then, when Wren has been there only a few days, Maxim's jealousy - because he sees Wren getting along with another guy he knows is in a open poly relationship with his husband - gets the better of him and he makes Wren his PA.

What confused me a bit is that this other guy, Archer, is higher up in the company now but used to be Maxim's PA, and they had a casual hook-up going on for awhile before they stopped. So that shows Maxim has no problem sleeping with his PA if he wants to. But before he and Wren get together he has several thought of how he can't sleep with Wren, that it just isn't something he can or should do. But he slept with Archie just fine? What's different about Wren?

Maxim obviously can't be out in the open as gay in the Bratva world, but again if he was holding back because of that, he wouldn't have slept with Archie as well, no?

So I wonder what it is about Wren he felt he had to hold back with, why felt he was off limits. I'll definitely be curious to find that out in book two.

The chemistry between these two was absolutely phenomenal, I couldn't get enough of them. The passion, the intensity was SO good. They become absolutely obsessed with each other and I loved it. Especially Maxim, he couldn't get enough of Wren. And he was absolutely possessive of him. I loved when he said only he could see Wren that way, naked and in the throes of passion.

So not only is the story interesting, but these two are so good together. Wren is sweet and kind but also doesn't take any of Maxim's shit. He stands up for himself with him. Maybe because he sees Maxim as a businessman and doesn't know he's also in the mafia, but Maxim appreciates in anyway, Wren having a fire in him, some spunk. He can't get enough of Wren and Wren can't get enough of Maxim. They're so gone for each other and it's wonderful.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment and the conclusion to their story. I'm so glad we're getting more of these two because they're so good together that one book just wouldn't have cut it.

So I absolutely will be tuning into the next installment and I'm so glad it's coming out fairly soon, in about two months or so.

Until then! 😘

DNF at 30%. This was my first try of this author and I am kind of shocked by how bad I found the writing. Their books get recc'd a lot and the reviews are high but this was just unbearable. The characters (mostly the mafia MC) think the most absurd things in a bid to relay important information instead of showing us anything. Same with the dialogue - the characters say things that wouldn't realistically be said aloud in order for the reader to know them. Dialogue can be used like that but generally it's subtle, not just awkwardly stating facts that don't seem natural saying aloud. If you want us to know that a character is trans there is a better way of conveying that then having another character say "OMG I'm so sorry I outed you as trans!" If you want us to know that the mafia MC is big and bad, show us please, it's cringey to read a character thinking that about himself constantly. Probably won't try this author again.

Thank you so much for your interest in Bratva’s Intern!
Just a heads-up: this is Book 1 of a two-part story featuring the same main characters, Maxim and Wren. So if you find yourself with lingering questions or unresolved threads, don’t worry. They’re likely answered in Book 2.

Also, one plot point carries over into Book 3, which focuses on a different couple but ties into Maxim and Wren’s world.

Hope you enjoy the journey! 💜

OMG, this book is amazing!! I was hooked right from the get-go! There's so much going on it's captivating. I couldn't put this down! In Bratva’s Intern, you meet Wren, who's a broke college student who scores an internship at one of the most reputable companies there is. Enter Maxim, businessman to the world, Pakhan behind the scenes. Maxim and Wren fall hard for each other even though Maxim tries to fight it. The connection these two develop is everything and intensely HOT!! Not to mention the amazing side characters, they're so much fun! But there's more to the story, and finishing this had only made me more excited for its conclusion in Bratva’s Vow. I can not recommend this book enough, definite must read!

This is book one of a duology. When I read duologies/trilogies, I like to read all the books before I do my review so I can judge it holistically. I have read both of the books now. For this review, I'm not going to mention any content really from book 2.

Wren is 22. He is a struggling college student who is not that great at school. Out of nowhere he got a scholarship to college, so you immediately know someone's looking out for him because that is sus. He's an orphan, his dad disappeared and presumably died when he was 12, and his mother died his first year in college of an overdose. He's working in a restaurant in a toxic environment, not making a lot. He and his roommate Jess are extremely close. He mysteriously gets invited to interview for an internship at Morozov a big corporation dealing in real estate, despite never having applied. It's a huge opportunity, so he goes with it.

The morning of his interview he runs into the boss, who is also the leader of the bratva at a coffee shop and he gives him lip. Maxim is charmed by him but has no clue who he is. Maxim is pleased to meet him again when he comes in for the interview. Wren bombs the interview and leaves early, yet still gets the job offer. Maxim tries to stay away at first, but he's entranced by Wren, and he's possessive of him and doesn't want him getting close to a particularly flirty Poly colleague, Bradley. Quickly, Wren is working directly under Maxim. The tension between them simmers. They don't kiss until 56%. But even that first kiss is probably within the first week or two of them knowing each other. It's not really slow burn, it's just a long book. They fall into a situationship, they have some dates, they hook up a lot. But Wren has no idea who Maxim is really, he's not in the know about Maxim being Mafia. And Maxim is dealing with a lot of threats from enemies which means neither Maxim nor Wren are safe. The book ends with the couple happy for now, and Wren still not knowing who Maxim is.

I have to say, I disagree with the way the author chose to tell this story. It was their creative choice to make it a duology and have Wren still not know who Maxim was by the end of this book. I can't outright fault them for making that choice, but it has consequences. I didn't feel as invested in the Maxim and Wren relationship. I didn't feel like the relationship meant anything or had substance on Wren's side. Wren doesn't know Maxim, he's living in a glass box, everything is fake, he can't really love Maxim because he doesn't know his true self, Maxim is playing a role with him. Their relationship is a house built of cards, there's no structure to it, and it can be blown to smithereens. I don't like that Wren is developing feelings and building a relationship based off of omissions.

I also have some other complaints. I normally don't complain about a book being too long. But given the lack of substantive relationship development and how frustrating I found it that Wren was in the dark the whole time, plus the short time frame that this book spanned, and how we had a bit too much pages spent on unnecessary stuff, I didn't think this duology needed to be as long as it was. It's a creative choice though so I'm not dinging the author for that.

Wren was cute and an endearing sweetie. I did like the possessiveness. I liked how caught up in each other they were. I liked how Maxim treated Wren so special. There was good tension, banter, smut.

Some notable moments:

"“Was the doctor who looked after you any good?” “I think so. He gave me a lollipop.” I bet he did. Antarctica was looking mighty fine for Bradley and his husband."

"I stared at the salmon, then at the yogurt, then back at Nik. Heat crawled up my neck. “Oh my god,” I muttered, horrified. “This is a bottoming lunch.” Nik said nothing. Which was worse than if he’d laughed. “I hate him,” I said, cheeks flaming. Nik raised a brow. “You say that a lot for someone who looks so happy when he texts you.” I picked up a steamed broccoli floret and dramatically bit into it. It tasted like betrayal. And affection. And fiber. The holy trinity of toxic relationships."

"He planted his hands on my hips and pulled my stiff body into him. Leaning forward, he pecked my lips again and again. “Kiss me.” “No—” “Come on. I’ll let you go back to work if you do.” “One kiss?” “Yes, just one.” I should have known he would cheat. One kiss ended up lasting for almost ten minutes. Ten agonizing minutes in which I almost climbed on top of his desk and called him Mr. Morozov so he would fuck me."

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

I am usually SO down for anything Gianni writes, but this just wasn't it.

I could see what Gianni was going for - Wren being an innocent, justice-driven young man with a heavy dose of naiveté. Something went wrong. Wren just comes across as an imbecile. It was hard for me to take any of the chemistry that happened between him and Maxim seriously.

Someone out there may find this cute, but it wasn't for me.

Um Yes
On to the next

9/10

So.... this book was REALLY GOOD
I love the dynamic between Wren and Maxim.

Wren is both bold and shy. He is very doubtful of himself and needs encouragement. However, once he gets that he blooms. Honestly in the beginning I thought he was not smart... lol It is cool to not have perfect characters. He is a college kid (22?) who goes to class and does the bare minimum. Tries to get by and has the most sassy and open trans best friend (she's awesome).

Maxim is your classic Bratva guy. Dressed to the 9's and knows how to hide all of his emotions. Take names and kicks ass but he is vulnerable with a couple secrets he as well.

I like that Wren also just doesn't IMMEDIATELY give in and forgive Maxims for the stupid and hurtful shit that he does. There is at least a little bit of a fight.

Side characters - like I said love the best friend and the bodyguards.
Archie is a little suspect... my reader vibes are tingly and I feel like he is doing something shady and possibly with Brandon (guy who can't leave Wren alone for 5 minutes).
Also, Archie and him said something about like not doing anything with Wren specifically... it makes me feel like they know him before he knew them or it has something to do with his dad. I don't know if I am just pulling shit out of thin air but again reader vibes are tingling lol Also, Wren makes it seem like he was never praised but what about his mom... she didn't seem like a bad character in the beginning of the book. There are just fishy things behind the relationship. Oh! The scholarship he didn't apply for... *side eye*

Boss/Employee
Physical Altercation
Blood
Trans representation
Poly representation (not between MCs - Very much touch the other and die or they will step in)
Baby/Good Boy
Mr. /Max/ Sir
Max LOVES to eat LOVES
Talk of Status and testing together
No Condom
Degradation (Not in a sexy way - leads to a fight then to making up - for protection could have been done better).

Love this author!

Wren’s dad disappeared without a trace a decade ago.

Wren and Maxin meet in a cafe .

Wren applies for the internship at Morozov Property Holdings where Maxim ends up being the boss.

Archie , Maxim’s ex PA and ex fuck buddy is … suspicious.

Bradley , another employee is also very suspicious.

Lots of sexy times between Maxim and Wren.

BUT - ends on kind of a cliffhanger , ? Or a happily for Now.

This isn’t over. Not even close. Maxim’s darker. Wren’s in deeper. And the line between obsession and devotion? Already gone. Book 2 brings more filthy promises, blood-stained confessions, and yes—he still calls him good boy. Preorder Bratva’s Vow, and prepare to be ruined. Pre-order Bratva’s Vow

This narrative has exactly what I love about a mafia story! After finishing I read it several times more!

There’s a sweet, innocent intern who wants nothing more than to please his boss.
The said boss is a mafia guy who has a lot of power. Without being aware Wren has Maxim wrapped around his fingers. The deadly boss is dazzled by him.
The boy glows when Maxim praises him! My heart, it was all so good!
But being a target means Wren would also be one.

While the (very satisfying) main focus is on Wren and Maxim’s interactions, there’s way more to this story. The mafia world is one of them, and all the other aspects are interesting and super duper captivating!
There are some bloody scenes, there’s manipulation, some hurt comfort, but there are also very scorching, and delicious sexy stuff to enjoy!!

The flow of this narrative was excellent, it reads so smoothly!

I’m excited about what will happen in part two of this duo.

So … This one dives straight into that boss–intern setup with all the delicious tension you’d expect — power play, age gap, and a secret underworld connection that turns everything on its head.

We have Maxim Morozov, a man who wears two faces — the respectable billionaire businessman everyone knows, and the Bratva boss no one dares to cross. Then there’s Wren, the intern who never even applied for the job he somehow lands. He’s average by his own account — ordinary grades, ordinary life, juggling studies and a part-time fast food summer job to survive. Until one unexpected call pulls him into Maxim’s world.

From their first encounter (at a coffee shop, no less), there’s instant electricity. Wren doesn’t know who Maxim really is, but the spark between them is undeniable and then he gets the internship job to his utmost surprise and while working he finds himself at a wrong place at a wrong time and ends up throwing himself in front of Maxim When an attack on Maxim’s life happens Wren is injured after saving him, and everything shifts. Maxim takes him under his wing — or more accurately, keeps him within reach — promoting him to personal assistant despite Wren being wildly underqualified. Boundaries blur, tension builds, and soon it’s not just professional lines being crossed.

The storyline itself works. It’s fast, engaging, and has that addictive mafia edge that keeps the pages turning. Maxim’s power, control, and occasional softness mix dangerously well with Wren’s insecurity and quiet strength. And I did like them together — the chemistry, the tension, the rhythm between them.

But where the book faltered for me was in the tone of steamy scenes. The intimacy felt written through an MF lens — the language and framing didn’t go with the MM pairing. It’s not about the level of spice (that part is definitely there), see here:

Max—Mr. Morozov,” I gasped. “I’m gonna come. Oh god, I’m gonnna come.”
“I know. I can feel it. The way you’re so fucking tight around me.” (( I have read similar lines in MF but it’s fine not to obvious but see the rest))

With another slam of his hips, I came with a deafening cry, tremors rippling through my body as Maxim continued to move inside me, drawing my orgasm out for what felt like forever. Spent, I sagged against the desk, breathing hard. Maxim pulled out, stroking his dick

“Open up.”

He fed me his thick length, his head rolling back.
I let my tongue slide over him, tasting the saltiness of his precum mixed with the sweetness of me on his skin.

(( the sweetness of me?!! What do you mean?? This is not an omegavers so no slick is involved and no wetness of vagina so what sweetness are you talking about 🙄🙄))

Still, I’ll give credit where it’s due: it’s entertaining, fast-paced, and Maxim’s brand of obsession — the way he hurts and then immediately tries to fix it — is both frustrating and oddly endearing. The writing style keeps you hooked, even when you’re side-eyeing some parts.

So yes — solid four stars from me. I liked it, I enjoyed it, but it didn’t hit that devour-the-whole-book-in-one-sitting level. I wasn’t fully obsessed, but I was invested enough to see it through.

As for Book 2, I’m definitely planning to read it. Just… maybe after a breather. I think a small gap will make me appreciate the next one better when I go back in.

The Bratva’s Intern is an MM Mafia romance between a mob boss/CEO and his intern (who doesn’t know his boss is part of the mob). Wren stands up to the business suit that butts in line at a cafe not realizing this was the owner of the company he was going to interview for. Already feeling incredibly under qualified, he runs out of his interview when he finds out. Later, he gets a call that he got the position.

Days later, he puts himself between his new boss and a knife that is about to stab him. After risking his life, Maxim upgrades him to his PA, despite many protests.

Working together, tensions rise and feelings develop…

So goooood!! Such a great book! I loved it all and that spice is spicey!!!! I adored the characters and the chemistry and I am excited to read more!!!!
This looks to be an ongoing series, not sure how many books, but the story continues in the Bratva’s Vow. No real cliffhanger 🤷‍♀️ just stops on a happy note, but the overarching plot still is going!

Bratva's Intern was an intriguing story, and I have a lot of unanswered questions and theories about Maxim and Wren!

I liked Wren's innocence and the contrast it created with Maxim, the successful business man and mafia boss. They were opposites in a lot of ways, but it worked for them. There was some foreshadowing about a connection between them, tied in with how Wren ended up being an intern at his firm, and hopefully the next part will give some more clarity and answers.

Maxim felt very possessive and protective of Wren, and I liked how the tension built between them. Wren was completely oblivious to Maxim's other business, and while Maxim tried to stay away from Wren and not pull him into the mafia side of things, he just couldn't stay away from him. The forced proximity didn't help, and the more time they spent together in the office the harder it was for either of them to keep their distance from each other. Things definitely got steamy in this one!

The pacing was a bit uneven at times, but there were enough things going on to keep my interest up. It was easy to speculate and have theories about the characters and the direction of the plot, and some of the side characters gave off some shady vibes. I can't help but feel like this could have been told in one book, but I might be mistaken depending on how things will play out in Bratva's Vow.

Bratva's Intern was a promising start to a new mafia series, and I definitely have a soft spot for Wren. I liked his sass and how he still stood up for himself when it mattered, and I'm curious to see what will happen to them in the coming book!

give me more

Omg I loved this. I love a strong willed Boy and his partner that just can’t help but love him. This was in no way a fluffy book. It walked the perfect line of morally grey with the right amount of you are mine and I will do anything for you. This is one of my fave authors. Not only do they write great spice, but they write it bad boys you can’t help but love. This does end in a cliffhanger but not a bad one. I can’t wait to see where they go the secrets that are still to come and for their love to get deeper.

For future:
Dual POV
No cheating/sharing
Relation before spice
No om/ow

Max and Wren ❤️

5 Stars ⭐️

I ate this book up and licked the spoon!! From the first page I knew I was going to fall in love with Wren, he was freaking adorable! The poor thing had no belief in himself, considers himself average in all ways imaginable unless of course he's sticking up for others which leads to a hilarous meet cute with none other than his future boss, businessman and ruthless Russian mob boss Maxim. The relationship build in this story is pretty much everything, you have a sweet soul with a praise kink and a closed off, heart of stone killer who's a secret softie for his kroshka. Sparks fly, giggles are had and some serious smokin up the sheets happens. Secret are revealed but most are kept, Gianni Holmes has me hook, line and sinker with this one. I cannot wait for the continuation of Max and Wren, I need the next book yesterday! This is a must read!!

Wren + Maxim

Bratva’s Intern is Wren and Maxim’s story.
aaww I enjoyed this read and I’m looking forward to continuing their story in Bratva’s Vow.

Wren is such a loveable character. Even though Wren is sweet, caring, and innocent, I loved that on a few occasions he showed that backbone and spoke up for himself when it came to Maxim. Maxim better protect this sweet soul with everything he has.

Maxim is a man with many layers. We get the brutal man who is the head of the Russian Bratva, the OTT protective and obsessed man, and the dare I say sweet man who is evidently falling in love with Wren.

Their journey, which is just beginning, had some humour, a sprinkling of action, a little angst, a few bratva moments and of course some sizzling spice.
I’m definitely looking forward to see what is next for these two.

This story has everything I need; age gap, boss & employee, mafia and banter. Wren is such a sweet disaster 🤣 – shy and awkward, yet fiercely determined to stand by his morals and principles 🥰. Unlike everyone else who fears Maxim, Wren isn't intimidated; he confronts him in a coffee shop, steals his coffee and captures his heart 🥰. I love them so much! ❤️😍

Bratva's Intern is Book 1 in the Bratva's Undoing series. This story ends on HFN. Can't wait to read more of Maxim and Wren!

I love Gianni Holmes stories! They are so easy to read and keep me interested 🥰❤️

Gianni is already my “if she writes it, I’ll read it author” so I was excited to read Bratva’s Intern. Maxim and Wren are opposites but that works so well. Maxim is from a dark, dangerous world, but when he cuts the line in a coffee shop and gets chewed out by a feisty young man, he can’t think straight. Wren is just trying to survive- and he doesn’t even know why he’s interviewing for an interns job, but when he sees that the man he stole coffee from this morning is the CEO, he knows he’s in trouble.
Maxim and Wren are 🔥🔥 and it isn’t long before they are both in deep.

Thankyou to Gianni for an ARC copy. I can’t wait to read the next book- I already need more of Maxim & Wren!

I didn’t realize going in that Bratva’s Intern would be part of a multi-book series. If you’re paying attention, you probably figure it out pretty quickly, but I wasn’t, so toward the end I was like, “Wait, the book’s almost over? Don't we need some unanswered questions answered?” Yeah, we definitely need more. That said, I really enjoyed the story and the characters. If you like your romance with a side of suspense and don’t mind waiting for the next book to get all the answers, this one’s a solid read.

ARC review

Loved the book.
Maxim was so alpha male but so soft whenever Wren's around. He would do anything to keep Wren no matter what that is.
Wren was the cutest cutie pie, loved him. He was afraid of going there with his boss but there was no resisiting their attraction.
I loved them together, their dynamic, and I can't wait for the second part of their story.

P.S: Shoutout for the bad*ss that Jess is, love her
