He’s my bodyguard, my employee, my knight in shining armor … and the only man in the entire world I can’t have.
Jacob
My band’s abrupt rise to fame has been one hell of a roller coaster. As Baptism Emperor’s lead singer, I’ve taken the brunt of it. I can’t leave my fancy new penthouse without a paparazzo getting in my face.
Thank God Seth is here to save me.
The huge, stern, silent bodyguard has swooped in to rescue me more than once, physically hauling me out of dangerous situations in his strong, muscular arms. He’s swept me off my feet – literally – and I’m falling hard. But he’s also my bodyguard, my employee – the one man I can’t have.
Everyone in the world wants me. Except the man I want.
Seth
I had to hide when I was in the military. Working as a bodyguard has given me more freedom, but there are some lines you don’t cross – like falling for your rich and famous rockstar client.
Jacob is magnetic. Every eye goes to him when he walks into a room. His voice fills entire stadiums and has helped launch his band into stardom. The fans and paparazzi swarm him every time he leaves his apartment.
So why the hell does he want me?
Not only is it wrong, it makes no sense. I’m just a bodyguard. He’s the famous, rich superstar. He shouldn’t want me, and I certainly shouldn’t want him … but it seems our bodies have other ideas.

The new found fame is hard for Jacob to wrap his head around. Even going for a jog turns into a paparazzi frenzy that he needs rescuing from.
“It’s not just a jog. Not anymore. Not for you.” I barrel on before I can stop myself. “You aren’t doing shit like this anymore, not without someone with you. I’m not letting you out of my sight again.”
Jacob celebrates his birthday at a nightclub. Seth rescues him again. He looks after a drunk Jacob overnight at Jacobs house. The next morning Jacob finds out Seth is gay and kisses him.
‘That stolen kiss the morning after the club — that belongs to me and Seth and no one else. I won’t turn it over to cameras and social media posts and prying hosts.’
After a tv interview, the paparazzi are swarming Jacobs place so Seth volunteers his for a few hours.
They fall into bed together, unable to resist each other.

There’s paparazzi. A reunion. I love you’s exchanged.
Wild Infatuation REBEL ROCKSTARS BOOK 3 is definitely going to be about Shawn and a super fan 🤣
“Any fan in particular?” Keannen says, leaning over the conference table to leer past me at Shawn. Shawn stiffens beside me and issues a terse “no” that only widens Keannen’s grin.
then Shawn, who gets a big reaction from at least one highly dedicated fan in the crowd.
Shawn sneaks another look up, and I could swear his eyes go directly to a specific spot in the crowd, as though he recognizes one of those people waiting for us. That would be absurd, obviously. If a fan ever got close enough to know one of us, Seth would shut it down instantly.
The next fan comes down the line. He’s bouncing, literally bouncing, with excitement, but for once I’m not the target of all that energy. He directs it right at Shawn, who raises his eyebrows but doesn’t look quite as surprised as I might have expected. “Wow, hi, um, would you sign this?” the guy says, sliding a T-shirt in front of Shawn.

This is the second book in the series that follows the guys from Baptism Emperor, finding love and dealing with their new found fame.
Jacob, the lead singer is still adjusting to his life being flipped upside down becoming famous so quickly. He still thinks he can do normal things like leave his house to run errands or for a run, except he can't and gets mobbed by fans and paparazzi. Enter Seth, the bodyguard for The Ten Hours, who split his time during the recent tour keeping an eye on Jacob and his band as well. Seth and Jacob are obsessed with each other but Jacob thinks that Seth is straight. The instant he discovers that he was wrong, they can't stay away from each other even though Seth desperately tries to be professional.
The villain situation happened and was dealt with so quickly that it kind of felt out of place. It's purpose was more for Seth and Jacob have an ah ha moment, are we going to fight for what we want thing.

Verse: No HEA: Yes POV: Dual Breakup: Yes, apart for like a week Cheat: No OM/OW Drama: Creepy encounter with someone who tries to assault Jacob Ages: 26 & Mid-20's
Very good book. Jacob is a rising rock star and because of that he and his band need a bodyguard. And who is it? The one man he thinks doesn't want him. But he doesn't let that stop, especially when he realizes that the attraction is mutual. Seth doesn't want to lose his job so he tries to resist the temptation that is Jacob. But he can't for long, so he gives in to his feelings. Jacob didn't want to lose Seth so he did what he could so they could be happy, he fought for them
hm ... this had the making of a really good story and I was looking forward to a great lovestory with a celebrity and his bodyguard.
Unfortunately, that is not so much what I got. there were so many negative emotions in this book, I was getting a bit depressed. I do not say, that the did not fit the story but for me it just did not fit my mood.
also, I have no idea, why they really fell in love with each other. all they ever said was, that they thought each other beautiful. which is not enough for a relationship.
but the epilogue helped me, getting over that. I loved seeing a glimpse of them in the future
Seth & Jacob are so good together. I love how Jacob wouldn’t let Seth run away from him and showed him that he was his. I can’t wait to read Shawn’s book! I love this whole series.
It had potential. I love a good bodyguard/protégée story, but if done right. This one was kinda repetitive and the characters were a little flat. Also, the angsty aspect got "resolved" in a boring and predictable way. Even the smut was meh.
This is the second book in the Rebel Rockstars series featuring the band Baptism Emperor’s lead singer Jacob and his bodyguard/crush Seth. After spending much of the last year on the road opening for another band, Baptism Emperor’s lead singer is finally back home in Seattle, but the band is much more well-known than before the tour. Now, they are recognized more often by fans and the paparazzi, especially Jacob and Keannon, the drummer, and they need a security detail, one they have never needed before. On the road, Seth was the head of security for both bands, so he is in charge for the moment. The other band has coverage and Seth is concentrating on Baptism Emperor until a new team is hired.
Jacob has been attracted to Seth on the whole tour, but thinks he is straight and has not indicated anything, pining from the wings. Seth had noticed Jacob, too, but does nothing but watch, knowing he can’t get involved because of his position, and because he feels Jacob could never be interested in him, even though he is gay. Once back in Seattle, with reporters more aware of the band and tracking them down, Seth is kept pretty busy protecting them, especially Jacob. As Jacob is followed while out jogging, Seth sees a post on social media and rushes off to rescue Jacob before he gets into a mob situation he can’t handle. Arriving in the nick of time, Seth is Jacob’s “knight in shining armor”, and Seth takes Jacob to his house to hide out when the reporters are all around Jacob’s. This avoids the reporters but creates a situation of close proximity which lowers barriers and gives them personal time together. But when an error in judgement causes a problem, it looks like any chance of being together may be lost — but maybe not. Only time and circumstances will tell.
Great interesting continuing characters from book 1, just with a focus switch to Jacob and Seth. I love the fact it is set in Seattle this time, my home stomping grounds. I always appreciate connecting to familiar settings. All the characters and situations seem realistic and relatable. I think the loss of freedom and the things you could do in your everyday life once you become recognizable is something many who yearn for fame don’t think about until they end up in a situation like Jacob and the band. Definitely a lifestyle change, in more ways than one. The book held my interest, and I am ready to embrace Shawn’s story next. If you’re a fan of rockstar books, I think you would like this series, and I would recommend them. I received an advance copy of the book and this is my voluntary review.
I enjoyed this one. It was an easy one to read and become engaged with. I enjoyed getting to know Jacob and Seth. Jacob meets Seth while they are the opening band on tour. Seth is the lead bodyguard for the other, more famous, band but he ends up during double duty to a point while they are on tour. This book doesn't cover very much of the tour itself, but instead the aftermath as Jacob's band has really taken off and the paparazzi, press and fans have started going a little crazy and Seth has had to get called in to rescue the band and Jacob more specifically multiple times. Things have not died down at all and almost seem to be getting worse. Both Seth and Jacob are drawn to each other but neither realizes the other feels the same. Seth is struggling with the fact that he is their bodyguard and the crossing of boundaries and compromising his ability to protect Jacob. He is also having a hard time finding/hiring the right bodyguards to replace him. At first, Jacob thinks that Seth is straight and so is off limits for that and the bodyguard aspect of it, though he would cross that line if he knew it was mutual between them. So once Seth shares that he isn't straight and it becomes obvious that he maybe does like Jacob and is attracted to him, Jacob makes a move. But it isn't easy for them as Seth deals with the guilt he feels about crossing that line as he thinks he shouldn't. I wish that we had gotten more of Jacob and Seth together but the story was entertaining and well written. It stayed true to what was set up with the premise and feelings they had over the situations they were in. I enjoyed watching them figure things out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Wild Fixation by F.A. Ray is a steamy, heartfelt bodyguard/pop star romance packed with classic tropes: - Singer/Bodyguard - Forced Proximity - Secret Romance - Size Difference - Opposites Attract
This is the second book in the Rebel Rockstars series and follows Jacob, lead singer of Baptism Emperor, as he navigates sudden fame, swarming fans, and his growing obsession with Seth—the stoic, off-limits bodyguard who’s been tasked with protecting him.
Their chemistry simmers from the start, and the mutual pining is delicious, especially as both struggle with assumptions, boundaries, and the consequences of giving in. Jacob thinks Seth is straight; Seth thinks it's unprofessional to cross the line—but once that miscommunication clears, sparks fly.
I loved the tenderness under all the tension, the support Jacob has from his bandmates, and how emotionally grounded their relationship becomes. The heat is there (and it’s hot!), but it’s matched with care and inner conflict that make both characters feel real.
The subplot involving a stalker-type villain felt rushed and mainly served to push the romance forward, which slightly undercut its potential. I also would’ve loved more time with Seth and Jacob together as a couple after the buildup. That said, their story was satisfying, and the character arcs felt authentic.
Content warnings: - Brief mention of SA (non-graphic, public setting) - Anxiety depiction - Strong sexual content and language
This was a fun, engaging read with lots of heart and heat. A strong installment in the series—I’m definitely sticking around for the next Rebel Rockstar. Bring on Shawn’s book!
This is book two of the author’s Rebel Rockstars series and this time features Jacob, the lead singer for the new up and coming band, Baptism Emperor and their bodyguard, Seth.
This one is by far my favorite of the series so far. Book one felt more angsty with best friends to enemies to lovers but this one was totally angst free with a sweet bodyguard who thought he was unworthy of someone as beautiful as Jacob and who could have anyone he wanted. My heart hurt so bad for Seth…he blamed himself for every issue related to the band’s security—even for things that turned out not to even be a thing, he blamed himself. He really was the sweetest guy!
Jacob, I liked from book one. He was uber friendly, energetic and charismatic and had everyone falling for him but he really struggled with his newfound fame. Wanting only to sing and make music, he never wanted to live in the limelight!
These guys were wonderful together. There was a little bit of Seth blowing hot then cold but with the way he had elevated Jacob in his mind, it was understandable. Sad…but understandable. If I could, I’d give him a hug ‘cause he definitely needed one to get out of his head. Jacob, precious thing that he was, was amazingly sweet to him and that was just one more reason to love him…as if I needed one.
For readers who love the rockstar trope, this is well worth the time spent reading it. Myself, I loved it and recommend it 100%. 4.5 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
WILD FIXATION is the second book in the Rebel Rockstars series. This time, it's lead singer Jacob's turn. He has been fixated on Seth, the bodyguard, since their tour with The Ten Hours. Of course, nothing can happen... which you immediately know means something will happen!
This is definitely a case of star-crossed lovers, at least to begin with. They both like each other, but both know they need to be professional. Sometimes though, that isn't enough. I did enjoy the push-and-pull between them both as they tried to do the right thing. The flirting disguised as teasing was fun to read.
I loved the support Jacob had from his friends/bandmates. It was nice to read a book about a band without the usual theatrics and infighting. I want to go back and read Keannen and Tim's story, but I'm also looking forward to Shawn's!!!
The one thing I didn't really understand was the whole Ryan situation. I know it was necessary for Seth and Jacob, but WHY?!?! Given his history, I wanted to know his reasons. Anyway, moving on...
This was a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! May 13, 2025
I started reading F.A. Ray’s books last year and I swear each book gets better than the last one. I think this one might be one of my favorites. I absolutely love a forbidden romance and I love bodyguard romances.
First off, I love how we get to see how being a rockstar isnt all roses and sunshine. We get to see the anxiety and frustration from Jacob how being famous isn’t all that cracked up to be. From the pictures and the paparazzi, it’s intense and maddening.
I love how Seth comes to his rescue and he’s immediately his knight in shining armor. He saves him multiple times and I love how they form such an emotional bond together.
I love how the MC gets his man and when he finds out he isn’t as straight as he thought, he immediately goes for the man he wanted.
And Ryan! Ugh, he was scary and I’m so glad that Seth was there to the rescue.
This book was super sweet and I cannot wait for the next installment, which definitely didn’t shock me who the couple was.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Jacob and his band have been given the opportunity to open for an established band that has already made and the hope was for them to get a following and exposure. It worked and these guys after doing music in addition to their day jobs have now blown up and they are anonymous no more. Seth, who does security for the other band, has been helping out while insisting that the band needs its own security. Jacob has been eyeing Seth and in addition to wanting his music and his band to take off, he wants Seth. Seth is conflicted, worried that he can't get involved with Jacob and be an effective bodyguard so although their relationship progresses from interest to more he keeps pulling back. But they have both fallen in love and really their best choice was to figure out how to make being together work given their jobs. There are complications but it was good to see Jacob fight for them and help Seth to realize they can make not only the personal but the professional work. These two were so good together and it was nice that both show their vulnerability and find a way to be and not let the fame ruin this good thing they were developing. I received an ARC from GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jacob and the band are a little overwhelmed with their success. They are at the point they need their own security but so far the are using the same one as their headlining band. It makes it a little hard but so far it has been being handled ok. Jacob has a huge crush on the lead security guy and he calls him to take him out in public. However all he really wants is to get him in private.
Seth enjoys his job but more than that he is drawn to Jacob. He knows it is a bad idea to be attracted to him because then he can do his job. But every time they need help he ends up man handling Jacob. Who knew getting ice cream would lead to fireworks between the two.
Will Seth be able to keep his feelings and his job separate? Will Jacob keep pushing the boundaries? Can Seth finally find Jacob and his band their own lead of security? Will it backfire for Jacob? Does he end up in danger? Will Seth rescue him in time? Does this failure cost Seth his job? Will Jacob fight for the two of them?
Wish it was longer but loved the teaser for book 3
After reading book 1 in this new series I was excited and happily surprised to see this sequel coming out so soon!
I was dying to see what Jacob and Seth’s story will look like and it was a nice ride!
I loved the continuity with the story starting just after book 1 just like in the boyfriend cafe series.
I also loved that Jacob knew what he wanted despite his age and that even though Seth wanted to be responsible he still couldn’t resist “his prince”. Those 2 were so cute together and their sexy scenes were hot!
I wish the meet and greet scene had been a bit more clear on what was happening because it did confuse me a bit and I would have loved an explanation about Ryan after (like did he know before the interview what job he was signing for?) but overall I had a great time with the main love story.
I love following this band and their rise to fame and I can’t wait to see Shawn’s story next and I’m guessing Dan will have his book as well?
Thank you to the author for the ARC and I’ll leave with a quote I liked “I don’t need you to be objective. I just need you to be mine.”
'His voice is soft in the dark, raw, real. He’s always himself, even with a million cameras in his face, but he tends to smile for those cameras no matter how he actually feels. This quieter smile, the edge of sadness in his eyes — those are things he doesn’t let the outside world see. Does he think they’ll stop loving him if they see this side of him? If so, he couldn’t be more wrong. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything as beautiful in my life as this slouched, disheveled, half-naked version of him, this soft, raw version free of all pretense.'
I loved this book. Rockstar/bodyguard romances are the best- especially with size difference. The story was fun and I easily got hooked. I loved both Jacob and Seth. Both falling for each other and their chemistry was sizzling. They were adorable together- Seth trying so hard to remain professional while trying to wrap his mind around Jacob actually wanting him when he could have anyone. It was a bit of a journey for them to get there, but it was a wonderful ride. 5 stars.
Baptism Emperor have hit the big time after going on your with the band The Ten Hours. Jacob, their lead singer is struggling with the change in his life. He wants to be able to go out for groceries or for a run, without being hounded by the paparazzi and fans. He needs a security guard.
Seth is a security guard assigned to The Ten Hours, but he also works for Baptism Emperor. He is finding he has a conflict of interest regarding Jacob, he finds him very attractive and doesn't want anyone near him. Jacob refers to Seth as his Knight in Shining Amour.
Can Jacob and Seth find a way to be together while both keeping their jobs.
This is the second book in F A Ray’s Rebel Rockstar series. I like the way they write, as it flows easily and the description of characters is flawless. The five members of Baptism Emperor all deserve their story. Keannan and Jacob have had theirs, I think Shawn is up next.
From the moment Baptism Emperor hit the big time Jacob, the lead singer has had a thing for the tall, muscular silent bodyguard, Seth, his knight in shining armour. The tour has finished and Jacob wants to get back to normal, make music and enjoy his life, but the fans and press wont let him. This story really showed how hard it is for anyone famous to have a normal life and whilst it came across that Jason was temper tantrums, he really was finding it hard to adjust and I did feel sorry for him. Seth took his job serious and even in Wild Obsession you could see that he had a thing for Jacob. This is a slow burn romance whilst there is a lot of wanting looks, but they are good together. Seth gets his found family and I am curious to know more about Mason, please let him have a story. I am really enjoying this series getting to know more about the band and with Shawn's story teased I am wanting to know who has got him acting differently.
skein of grossness, "The Hobbit", stupid black t-shirt, mochi balls, achy thighs, 'protective knight' hat, monster metal
I'm a huge fan of F.A. Ray. They haven't disappointed with this book, "Wild Fixation", Book 2 of the 'Rebel Rockstars' series. This time it's Jacob's and Seth's story.
Jacob is the lead singer of Baptism Emperor. Technically, Seth is The Ten Hours bodyguard/security. Baptism Emperor is a no-name band just hitting it big after being the opening act for The Ten Hours' concert tour. Suddenly thrust into stardom, Baptism Emperor needed security. Seth was 'loaned' to the new stars until a permanent security team is assembled. Yup, you know where this is headed.
While the trope isn't new, the story is captivating. Jacob is a sweetheart and Seth is the conflicted bodyguard. The book delightful and enjoyable. You'll also love Jacob's bandmates. Recommended!
I found it quite interesting to read about Jacob & Seth’s story, & how there was a bit of push & pull to try to figure out their footing, as it were. It reminded me a bit of the film “The Bodyguard.” I found it a bit sad for Seth to feel the way he felt at times, in one way he was so confident, yet on a personal level he seemed quite self conscious & even timid at times.
Some of the hot scenes take a long time to come, but when they do, they are hot... -His next kiss is slow and wondering, and it drips from y mouth down my neck, hot wax melting down a melting candle. The heat seeps along the side of my throat, then onto my chest.....
Great book, worth reading.
I received this free ARC, and this is my honest review.
I liked Jacob and Seth as characters but the story was all hype and a bit anti-climatic. There were a lot of encounters with paparazzi that didn't result in any real trouble, then there was a new bodyguard and I really don't know why he was introduced at all as what happened was just weird and unresolved. It was an easy read that just coasted along with no urgency, just a lot of angsting from Seth about his feelings for Jacob while he was his bodyguard. It was nice seeing the group interacting together and trying to guess who their potential love interests were (looking at you, Dan, you sneaky man). I'd like to see Seth's roommate more because he was great, so I'd love it if he could be the one for Levi. Next is Shawn to get his HEA.
Wild Fixation is a Rockstar/bodyguard romance. It’s an easy read that definitely picks up spice as it goes on. Once these two cross that line they cannot be stopped, and I’m fine with that. Seth is a defacto body guard forJacob, front man for a band that has risen to popularity quickly - a job he takes quite seriously. These angst in the story is mostly Seth wresting with liking liking his employer. There’s a bit of a hub-a-loo with another hired bodyguard, but that’s over fairly quickly. On point in its genre, its overall a quick read that doesn’t go too deep, is just the right amount of spicy to still be plot driven, and enticed me just enough to want to read the next one - and the first one for that matter. Second book in series abut can be read as a standalone.
Wild Fixation is a heartwarming and dramatic exploration of their evolving relationship amidst the challenges of fame and security concerns, as well as the complexities of professional relationships, set against the backdrop of the music industry. Jacob, the lead singer of The Ten Hours, struggled to adjust to the overwhelming attention that came with his fame. His reluctance to adapt to his new lifestyle often led them into risky situations, but Seth, assigned as his security guard, was always there to protect him. Their time together strengthened their connection, blending professional duty with personal affection. The book had my attention from start to finish, and I enjoyed it.
This love story is about Jacob, the rocker, and his bodyguard, Seth. Their romance includes a lot of theatrics, caused mostly by Jacob's refusal to take his stardom seriously and Seth's failed attempts to reject Jacob's advances. I understand why Jacob finds the unaccustomed and unwelcome involvement of the paparazzi in his life an intrusive violation, and I understand why Seth must avoid getting involved with his client. However, they choose to handle the challenge of their attraction in the wrong way, thinking they can keep things from blowing up in their faces. I hated the back and forth, the drama surrounding the new bodyguard, and the blowup of their relationship in the media.
Hot and dreamy! Jacob, is the lead singer in his band. He is the target for papparazzi and enthusiastic fans. Seth, is Jacob's bodyguard and ready to go to any lengths to protect him and keep him safe. Jacob, develops feelings for Seth and Seth is intrigued, surprised and humbly unaware of his value to Seth. Seth, tries to maintain boundaries and Jacob wants to cross them. The men discover a lot about each other and themselves. Will they take a risk? The interactions are totally hot. The cover art is hotter! Good story, nice flow, well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rounding up to 3 stars on this one. It wasn't bad, but this one needed more meat on its bones plotwise. The big climax ended up being...a sidehug? It built up this sense of danger during one scene, but then nothing actually happened so it felt like everything was just overly dramatized. Not that I *want* characters to suffer, but a little higher stakes would have been good. I thought he was going to get kidnapped or something, but really, not much happened at all except someone was unprofessional.

I was provided with an ARC from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.
F.A Ray is a brand new author to me and I was not disappointed. Wild Fixation is about a famous lead singer and his bodyguard. I adore band romances, and this story was no different. I really enjoyed it. I did not read the first book in the series but was able to follow along with the story easily. For me, this book was pretty low angst but it still kept my attention throughout. I am quite intrigued with the other band members as well and will be coming back to see when their stories will be released.
It was until the very end that I realized this was book 2 of the series. The book starts off just jumping right into the story, which made things a bit confusing since I didn’t know it was book 2.
Like why did they keep talking about a rivalry, when they were boyfriends? And why did they share bodyguards? Weren’t they suppose to have their own?
Obviously I missed all that from book 1.
I really like the scenes in the kitchen the next morning. 🥵
I think those who are into bodyguard rockstar romance would enjoy this.
This book had a few interesting takes on the classic body guard scenario and that definitely made it a fun read! I really like where the author started this book - with a character who has been catapulted into the spotlight after a successful tour and who hasn't figured out his new normal... I also love the push and pull of Seth's job and feelings, as he tries to keep Jacob and his bandmates safe.
This book was well crafted, held my interest and had just enough twists and turns to keep me wondering. I look forward to the next Rebel Rockstars book!
This book was adorable. It is a series but can be read as a standalone. Jacob is the lead singer of a band and Seth is his bodyguard. Jacob refuses to believe that his life has completely changed after his band’s first tour. He ends up putting himself in some situations with the paparazzi where Seth has had to save him a few times. Their connection is instant. Seth becomes overprotective of Jacob but he tries to fight his want for Jacob. Jacob is stubborn and he will fight for the man he wants. Loved them both and definitely recommend this book.
