Growing up in a sheltered cabin in rural Alaska shielded me from the fact that there was something off about the way my parents raised me. “Imprisoned me because of my freakish looks” might be a better description.. After years of begging and restlessness, they finally let me take some online college courses and I began to see that I needed to escape, even if I had no money, no skills, no friends, and nowhere to go.
I’ll do whatever it takes. Even take my chances at a job as a stranger’s “wife” thousands of miles away so my parents can’t find me…
I never expected to fall in love with my boss and his baby.
Artie
I never intended to be a father at twenty-four, but there you have it. When I found a tiny baby with horn-like growths on her head and little hooves where her feet should be, I freaked out! I knew I was too young and inexperienced to be a parent, but all I could picture was her ending up with people who experimented on her or put her in some kind of creepy freak show.
But good intentions and a boatful of love for my miracle girl are not enough. I can’t work from home full-time and be a full-time parent. With little money and less family, I don’t know where I can get help without risking Laurel’s life. After two days without sleep and almost losing my job after a major mistake, I cracked. I put up a “Wife Wanted” ad on a sketchy job-seeking site. I can offer room, board, respect, kindness, her own room, and good health insurance—all she has to do is let me work and promise to help me protect Laurel. In a year or two, when things are better, we can split up in a nice, friendly way, no harm done.
Except that Imogene is perfect for Laurel and me. When I discover the truth about her odd appearance and the bond she and Laurel share, it makes me want her even more. Can I convince her that our sham marriage has turned to true love?
Krampus, Baby is a sweet and spicy holiday rom-com standalone set in the Pine Ridge Universe.

Krampus, Baby definitely scratched the itch I’ve been feeling this holiday season! I adore Imogene and Artie; they’re the cutest couple! And then there’s Laurel! She steals hearts the moment you meet her.
This story offers healing in numerous ways. It provides a safe haven for those escaping abusive environments and fosters a strong, inclusive community. Additionally, it brings about a sense of justice. I couldn’t put this book down. 🥹🫶
Now, let’s talk about the spice! It was absolutely beautiful and brimming with passion! Artie made me realize that I actually enjoy the nerd dirty talking trope. It’s all so hot! Imogene is not at all bashful! She’s not afraid to tell Artie exactly what she needs. Her self-discovery was truly captivating to witness. It’s like watching a caterpillar blossom into a butterfly!
This story really touched me, and honestly, I’m not sure anyone can outdo this couple! The fake marriage is so convincing, and you can really see why they’re such a great match.
Thank you S.C for the arc!
I received this arc and am voluntarily leaving a review. Please note that all my thoughts are my own.
For a book about a strawberries and cream FMC this was rooted so well into reality I felt like I was sitting on their living room couch! Imogene and Artie are the voices in my head characterized. Such cute moments are woven throughout and I couldn't wait to untangle their story. Krampus, Baby gives a respectful voice to those who grew up in the system or needed a safe out* while still maintaining the humour that riddles the author's other books. A sentimental tale of found family that needed to be told and I'm so glad I listened! May we all find our own Artie.
*On a personal note I usually shy away from books I deem "human monster in the family" trigger (bystanders should not be forgotten and are unredeemable too) but Imogene's bubble gum demeaner and exterior had me stuck like a popped bubble 🫧🩷
S. C. Principale has knocked this out of the park once again! If you're looking for an amazingly cute and sweet read, this is definitely for you! I just loved this book! It's a fantastic read that I could not put down! I love the love that the mc's share for each other and the little girl! Erin and grab your copy and cozy up for an incredible read!
Such a heart warming story for Christmas. A number of unlikely events bring a human and Krampus together. The fact that these 2 have never felt love from other people but find it with each other is why I read romance. I love that the Pine Ridge community that comes to support the new couple. Really wish it was real. Another fabulous read ♥️
