Will a grumpy former jock come out for his gendersparkly sunshine Daddy before it’s too late?

Atlas
Being forced to move home at thirty-seven wasn't my idea of a good time, especially with my high school reunion looming. But then I saw Miles again, and I knew I had to make him mine. Though with him still in the closet, would he even want a fabulous out-and-proud twink as his Daddy?

Miles
Twenty years since high school, and all I had to show for it was being the town's go-to handyman and a list of casual hookups to keep my bed—and my a**—warm. Putting my needs on the back burner for so long had left me grumpy and alone, and something had been missing for a while. I needed a Daddy. But who would want a tall, jacked sub like me?

With my relationship with Atlas heating up, I knew I had to make a choice: hold on to my secret for the rest of my life or claim this sunshine human as mine. But would he leave before he gave me a chance?

Atlas & Miles is an 18+ grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, size difference, Daddy (no age play) romance between a genderfluid hottie who loves makeup, dresses, and topping from the bottom (usually) and the muscled handyman who needs a love that chooses him for always.

Gomillion High Reunion series is a multi-author collaboration celebrating the 20th reunion of former classmates in a charming small town. From fake dating and long-held rivalries to first loves and second chances, anything can happen when the past and present collide. Don’t miss the reunion—RSVP today!

I was really looking forward to this after enjoying Brad & Finn last month, as well as Lincoln’s Becoming His Perfect Daddy. And goodness, they didn’t make it easy for Atlas and Miles to get their happily ever after but it was very worth it in the end! I love that authors are starting to write more genderfluid characters, and I really enjoyed reading Lincoln’s author’s note at the beginning of this book about their journey in writing Atlas’s authentic story. Definitely give that a read so you can understand a little about Atlas and how they view their gender identity and expression. Atlas also talks about it more as the book progresses. Atlas’s relationship with Miles is just so special, and it’s incredible that the two characters see one another fully. I also really enjoyed the Daddy/boy dynamics in this book. There’s a size difference, as well as a Daddy who loves to top from the bottom and I was totally here for it! The kink in this book was just perfect, and it suited the characters so well and they got not only what they wanted, but what they needed.

I really enjoy Lincoln’s writing style, and there’s just something about the emotion they’re able to pack into their writing. There were definitely moments in this book that had my heart catching! As Miles always said, Atlas was born to shine and I love how the author described Atlas and his various outfits and makeup choices. I think that supported their genderfluid identity throughout the book. And Miles, my poor broken boy. He had quite a bit of work to do on himself before he could be the man Atlas not only needed, but deserved and I’m so proud of him for doing that work (we love the therapy representation).

Overall, although these characters had to work for their well-deserved happily ever after it was worth it in the end! I appreciate Lincoln Mercer’s writing, and I absolutely can’t wait to read their next book. If you enjoyed Becoming His Perfect Daddy, you’ll love the little cameos in these books as well as all the gender euphoria you could want. Happy reading!

I received an advanced review copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Firstly, this book is a portrayal of identity, how it is perceived and how it is understood. Our main character, Atlas has differing pronouns depending on how he feels at that moment and I loved that about him. There is courage and strength in acknowledging we can differ and that it sometimes isn’t a simple choice. Secondly, this book is a journey through kink and the lifestyle by a new couple. I loved the way their dynamic was portrayed and that typical stereotypes can be just that- stereotypical. Atlas and Miles explore their dynamic with tenderness and this book had me crying a time or two. While Atlas is an out and proud gay man, Miles is still in the closet. With the door locked. This man has known he was gay since he was 12, but hasn’t had the courage to come out. Miles is such a sweetheart of a character- a big strong handyman who really needs guidance and acceptance. Atlas’s and Miles have a lot to overcome in their story and it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows but it is portrayed carefully by Mercer. Their dynamic is explored well throughout the story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️

Thankyou to Lincoln for gifting me an arc of this wornderful story!

To be back at Gomillion with its high school reunion series feels very nice. Atlas and Miles’ story piqued by interest especially given their unique relationship dynamic. It was hard to keep the smile off my face while reading their story.

This read gave me slice-of-life vibes that I can’t fully explain. My guess to why this is remains to be that the couple always seemed so inevitable. Atlas and Miles fit together like two puzzle pieces that are only ever meant to be paired together. You couldn’t force a different piece in no matter how hard you tried.

Atlas is the fabulous genderfluid daddy to Miles’ endearingly shy boy. Admittedly, I haven’t read too many stories with a trans MC, but this book had me wanting to seek out more. Reading this was refreshing, informative, entertaining, and sexy.

A few things to expect from Atlas & Miles:
- a deliciously unconventional daddy/boy dynamic (no age play)
- a tinge of its always been you
- k!nk galore
- healthy communication for days
- some third act self discovery

Thank you to the author and to Gay Romance Reviews for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

I want to give a thank you to Lincoln Mercer for providing the opportunity to read and review this book.

It's so pleasing and refreshing to see a genderfluid character portrayed in and be the main character of a story; especially as genderfluid person myself. I loved Atlas and his explanation of how their gender works in the day to day and the care that went into their portrayal throughout the story. Miles is such a sweet man and has my heart. Both were very lovable and relatable in their own ways.

While I did love the burn of Atlas and Miles seeing each other again after all these years and the hesitation on establishing a relationship - let alone a Daddy/Boy dynamic - considering Miles isn't out, I would have also loved to see more of the domesticity of them connecting outside of their dynamic. Their connection and chemistry was wonderful and I loved how constructive and kind Atlas was in helping Miles feel comfortable in who he is, both in private and in public.

This book is full of so much love, appreciation, and care for the various LGBTQ+ identities and kinks represented. I absolutely loved it.

Review for (Gomillion High Reunion) Atlas & Miles by Lincoln Mercer

Tropes in this story are as follows:

Daddy (With no Age Play)
Size difference
Topping from the bottom
Genderfluid
Wearing dresses and makeup
School reunion

This is the first one I have read from this series, Gomillion High Reunion, in which multiple Authors are writing. I don't know what it is, but I love Daddy books of any kind. Add in that the daddy is Miles, who is a twink who wears makeup and dresses, love it. Then add in topping from the bottom draws me in because I know how that is lol. Writing a series of books that are about a class reunion 20 years later draws me since I haven't been to any of mine and have always wondered what I missed. I loved Atlas & Miles' story a lot. All Atlas knows once he sees Miles again is that he must have this man. That will be kinda hard since Miles is deep in the closet about his sexuality. That could be a bump in the road for sure. I couldn't stop reading this story till I read how it ended. I need more by Lincoln Mercer.

When I read Brad and Finn’s book, I was very curious about Miles and what he had going on with Atlas. It was cute reading as their romance blossomed. It wasn’t slow, despite them taking their time to make sure they both wanted the same things. Miles had been half in love with Atlas for 20 years, and it didn’t take long for Atlas to find Miles endearing enough to take a chance on.

Together, they explore issues they’re both facing, explore their love of kink, and face a new future together.

It’s sweet, a little angsty, and educational as well. I enjoyed their chemistry and the journey they shared.

Thank you Lincoln Mercer for this book. This review is entirely my own.

This was my first book from this author and it will not be my last.

This book brings us Atlas and Miles, two men that went to school together and meet again after twenty years. Atlas is a genderfluid Daddy who moves home after his life is pulled out from underneath him. Miles is grumpy boy who never left home and is stuck. When these two meet again sparks fly but Miles is not out and these two go their separate ways. When a mishap happens that brings them together, they both take a chance of a lifetime and find something they were both looking for. As they get closer, the feelings between them grow. What happens when life gets in the way? They both have to face that question and sometimes the road to those answers are no always the easiest.

This book is a warm hug. This is a low angst, great spice book that will leave you happy and wanting to reread it over and over.

Another good book in the Gomillion reunion series. I love how diverse all these books have been so far and it's a wonderful thing to see. There's a little and in some cases a lot of something for everyone. This is Miles and Atlas's story. Miles has had it bad for Atlas since they were young teens. He always admired that Atlas was always their sparkly self no matter who had anything to say about it. Miles wishes he were like that but instead, he knew he was gay since he was 12 yet decided to never breathe a word of it to anyone. Now being in his 40s, in the closet still, and partaking in casual hook-ups, and with his 20-year high school reunion coming up a lot of old feelings and memories come back up to the surface. Especially when he sees that Atlas is unexpectedly moving back to Gomillion and will also be at the reunion. Is this his chance to maybe live a different life where he can finally ask out his childhood crush? Only he can decide that. Atlas has had a hard time in Seattle which forces them to move home even though he doesn't necessarily want to especially when they found out even more about themselves in the city of acceptance and diversity where they can meet like-minded people. But when he runs into Miles, an old schoolmate he thinks that Gomillion might not be so bad after all. After some hiccups Miles and Atlas find themselves pulled together by the magnetic force of their attraction and they find what they've always wanted and needed in each other and in their daddy/boy dynamic. Life did not make it easy for these two to get their happy ending but their love seemed to be written in the stars and they just needed to find themselves and not be afraid to go and work for what was right for them. I loved these two together even if the whole timeline with Atlas leaving and the decision he made so quickly to go was kind of heartbreaking especially given Miles' past of wanting to be chosen and put first for once. That and the way Miles and Atlas reconnected the first time, after deciding Miles being in the closet didn't give a possible relationship between them a good chance, gave me a bit of the ick if I'm honest and is the reason I gave this book a 4 instead of a 5. But other than that I absolutely enjoyed the dynamic between Atlas and Miles and the love and devotion they shared. They had to make hard decisions that hurt their heart but it led them back to each other again but this time forever.

I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion

I am thoroughly enjoying all of the Gomillion High Reunion series, and this one is just as good as the others. I adored Atlas, he is so open and free, living his life out and proud, sure of who he is and unapologetic for it. I think he is the first genderfluid, “gendersparkly” main character I have come across, and the depiction of his character helped me get a clearer understanding of what “genderfluid” means. It was also fun to see a smaller, twink type as the Daddy, rather than the larger one you might normally associate with the Daddy vibe, and the same goes for Miles as Atlas’s boy. Their interactions just flowed, and you kind of forgot about the size difference in this context. Atlas is the kind of person I would love for a friend, and he was perfect for Miles.
Miles has spent his life in the closet since he was 13, afraid of what people would think of him if he came out, living a lonely life with little family and few friends. Seeing Atlas, his high school crush, again after twenty years gives him the desire to come out, now he needs to work on convincing himself it will be okay, and he deserves to do it so he can live his life as he wants to, no longer in the shadows. He makes positive choices toward that goal, and learns a lot about himself and what he wants and needs in the process, all with the support of his Daddy Atlas, who is able to give him much of what he needs. When life throws a change at them, Miles has the incentive to determine what he really wants and plans how to get there.
Seeing other couples from the series enter Miles and Atlas’s orbit in the reunion and the local bar really helps tie the series together, and meeting some of those characters in a new book has that feeling of recognition, an “oh, I remember them from —-‘s book” vibe, continuing the connection and expanding the universe of the attendees at the reunion. These books are low angst, the characters are realistic, relatable, and engaging, the stories come from real life experiences, and are things many readers can identify with and relate to. If you want an entertaining series that might put you in mind of class reunions in your past, this could be the series for you.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.

This is another book in the Gomillion High Reunion series - so a lot of other guys to explore as well after this one!

Mhhh Atlas & Miles… these two fit together perfectly! I was so happy starting a daddy/ boy story finally again… their story and dynamic and all the 🔥 stuff is what I needed!

I learned so many new things about transgender and genderfluid - it was truly enlightening. Preferences are very individual and everyone is entitled to like whatever he/ she/ they want… everything is possible and there is soo much out there and I love everything that is different - new, exciting, out of the strict lines or roles/ stereotypes some scared people want to put others in. It‘s so sad that that still is an issue nowadays… I’m a big believer that love will win in the end… always!

Atlas is a sparkly gender-fluid daddy - Miles the muscly jock from highschool is still in the closet when they meet again a few months before their Highschool reunion. Twenty years have passed and Miles still is in awe with Atlas… truth be told so am I! Atlas is amazing!
A daddy through and through- one might not think of that at the first look - and we get reminded again to never charge a book by it‘s cover… ever!

I love their dynamic with a smaller more femme daddy - and Miles - big, muscly with long hair 🫠 and so so sweet and caring. He puts everyone else first - now it’s time to let himself be happy and embrace his wants and needs! They start strong - spending almost every time together (exploring their physical relationship in the best ways) until life happens - they need to find out how they‘ll be able to make it in the long run.

As always I almost couldn’t bare the sadness clinging all over my heart when their ways parted for a bit… So I cried, sighed, rightened my crown (cause I always have faith it all will be fine in the end) and was beyond happy when they get their - so earned - HEA!

Bottom line Message:
Find yourself and be strong, confident - you are enough and perfect as you are!!! Shine, be proud and be your true sparkly self - always! And let yourself be loved out loud! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great story in the Gomillion High Reunion series! After reading Brad & Finn, I KNEW that I had to read their story too, and it was everything I hoped for and more. This book is part of the Gomillion High Reunion multi-author collab series, and it perfectly balances small-town nostalgia, emotional healing, and swoony queer romance.

As a nonbinary reader, I was especially touched by the way Lincoln Mercer portrayed Atlas’s genderfluidity full of joy, nuance, and respect. Atlas is confident, expressive, and gloriously “gendersparkly,” and seeing them be fully loved and desired for *exactly* who they are meant so much to me. Miles, on the other hand, completely broke my heart. He’s weighed down by guilt, loneliness, and internalized shame, convinced he doesn’t deserve happiness. Watching him slowly unlearn those isolating habits and allow himself to be loved was deeply moving, and honestly healing to witness.

Their dynamic was stunning: grumpy/sunshine, Daddy/boy (no age play), and full of tenderness, communication, and emotional honesty. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of a daddy kink (nothing against it, just not for me), but I LOVED the way the kink was woven into their love story, reminding the reader that it’s about care and trust as much as desire. And yes, it’s HOT, but what stuck with me most were the moments of softness: the praise, the aftercare, the way they both learned to see themselves as worthy.

There’s a moment late in the story where real-life choices and personal growth threaten to pull them apart, and it completely wrecked me in the best way. It’s raw, heartfelt, and handled with so much maturity that I was crying along with them. I appreciated that there was no miscommunication trope here. It grounds the story in a relatable situation and makes the emotional payoff that much sweeter.

Atlas & Miles is a beautiful exploration of love, gender, identity, and the courage it takes to be seen. It’s spicy, emotional, and affirming in all the right ways.

Navy Pier magnet, caged rooster, plastic key, stuck-up raspberries, electric-blue toy, lacy boy-shorts, felching, hot teacher glasses

"Atlas & Miles" is a fine addition to the multi-author 'Gomillion High Reunion' series. It's fascinating seeing how different authors treat the trope and put their own spin on it. The BDSM parts are heavier than I'm used to. It actually adds to the story and steam. And it's done responsibly and respectfully. This is book also integrates the MCs of the other "Gomillion" stories. Not only that, you can tell author Lincoln Mercer either was in communication with the other authors, or read the other books. He also uses dialogue from those books. I took some effort on his part.

Atlas St. James is a transgender gendersparkly force of nature. He's back in Gomillion after losing his Seattle customers and business. It's a huge step down and backwards. It just so happens that his 20th reunion is in a few months. People in general don't know what to make of Atlas. It's because of his gender fluidity and way he dresses. He's been like that in high school.

Miles Johnson is the town's handyman; he's the only one in Gomillion. He is deep in the closet since he was a teenager. Miles has gone out of town for hooking up. The farthest away from Gomillion has been Atlanta. Miles lives his entire life on the DL, having no close friends. He's been enamored with Atlas since high school. For the past 20 years, he has frequently thought of Atlas, dreaming what his life would've been like if he only told Atlas how he truly feels.

Unknowingly, Atlas hires a handyman to help set up his internet. It's how they reconnect. After a few missteps, they discover things about each other after all these years. Together, they find themselves happy and satisfied. Because Miles is still in the closet, they have to keep their relationship a secret.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has the right balance of all the elements to make this story one of the better 'Gomillion' books. I absolutely recommend it.

Firstly, thank you so much to Lincoln Mercer for giving me an ARC of his new book! I had a lot of fun reading it—all opinions are my own.

Where to start? I was so intrigued by both Atlas and Miles as characters when I first met them in Brad and Finn’s book (by D.C. Emerson), and I was thrilled when I got the chance to apply for an arc!

Both characters knew each other, if only a little, when they were at school together, and I adored how they literally ran into each other and reconnected on a random day after Atlas moved back into town. The way Atlas explained his identity, how at any given point their pronouns could change, was very interesting to me as I’ve not read a story with a genderfluid character before. I also loved how being a Daddy was about personality and mindset, and nothing to do with gender identity or size. Atlas helping Miles through his breakdown over coming out was so well written, and I absolutely adored their chemistry throughout this entire book. The respect, the check-ins, both in terms of pronouns and in terms of intimacy, and the acceptance of boundaries when those needed to be set as well… loved it.

When it comes to physical intimacy, these characters explore some BDSM stuff, specifically Daddy kink and impact play. The author has included a thorough list at the start of the novel, which I encourage readers to read. There are also some trigger warnings which many readers will appreciate. I don’t have many triggers when it comes to books, but I still really appreciated knowing what I was going into with this book, and I know many people would prefer knowing over being surprised as well. Of course, if you’d rather go in completely blind, these can be skipped.

Just perfect. It’s so hard to choose a favorite book from this series but this one is definitely one of my favorites.

God, Miles and Atlas gave me all the feels. From Miles coming into his own and Atlas being his authentic, fabulous self, this story was just absolutely incredible.

I can’t say I know what it’s like to hide the best part of you for fear of being ridiculed, harassed and sometimes physically hurt for being yourself. But it was so painful to see how much Miles struggled and how much he sacrificed of himself in order to keep his secret. He was so lost and lonely.

On the other hand, Atlas was so unapologetically himself and never allowed anyone to dim his light. He came back to Miles’s life just at the right time to give it some color and happiness. He was so patient with him, even though Miles wasn’t willing to come out.

Their love was not a selfish love. Despite having to part ways, Atlas never pressured Miles into making a decision he wasn’t ready for. What should have been something that broke them apart, got them even closer. It was what made them both realize they were meant to be together.

It might have looked like the universe was against them, but things happened exactly the way they were supposed to. Miles needed to find and choose himself in order to offer Atlas the best of him. A man that wasn’t afraid of being himself and someone to be proud of. It wasn’t easy but then again, nothing worth it is.

It took 20 years for them to be together but it was worth it. Sometimes real love needs time but the universe will find a way to bring it to you.

I can’t express how much I loved this book. This is my first time reading Lincoln’s work and I’m so in love with it. I’m looking forward to reading everything!

I had the chance to read the ARC copy, thank you!

Spoiler-free: Be prepared for a lot of emotional roller coaster (good and sad tears) in the book! And kinky fun (the Author said 34 kinks are mentioned in the book, the main kink is a Daddy/Boy relationship (both consenting adults, no Age-Play)).

I loved the book, maybe even because of the emotional roller coaster. The epilogue was sooo healing and I really needed that ! It honestly was a book I couldn't barely stop reading until I was finished.

We meet in this book of the Gomillion High Reunion Atlas & Miles (they had so far a tiny hello in Brad & Finn by D.C. Emerson, and so have Brad & Finn a cameo in this book and some others from the other books).

Five stars for what has to have been a difficult book to write with the gendersparkly Atlas and his ever changing pronouns. Being bi-gender myself I understand how pronouns sure are a tricky issue.
Writing a book in which people are so respectful of Altas's pronouns displayed a high sensitivity to this sometimes controversial issue as well as research well done. On top of that Atlas's physical appearance is not that of your typical Daddy, and him being primarily a power bottom, topping from the bottom, with a sadistic streak and yet still so caring (aftercare) for his "boy" was a challenge well met by the author. Was this character easy to read seeing he was so non-stereotypical in allmost every way? At times it was hard, but Lincoln Mercer made it possible.
Miles had a stack of problems. Being stuck in old guilt over being terrified as a kid and not helping a bullied school mate and the taboo thinking the bad attitude of school bullies had instilled in him about being gay and out, having lost his father too early, and his mother through her being "non-functioning" after the father's passing (something I could relate painfully well to) and then having to take care of his younger sister, he is preventing himself from coming out and embracing a life of his own.
Making those two, Atlas and Miles, work in a relationship with a definite HEA - a challenge that took time and each of them standing up for their own needs and doing the character building work that was required.
Witnessing this in a book so well written - priceless.

Thank you to the author for an ARC.

I was curious about Atlas and Miles after reading Brad and Finn's book. I liked both characters, but felt like the story had a much heavier focus on Miles.

The pacing of this story was a bit odd for me, which is why I have to give it 3 stars. The way Miles opens up to Atlas almost immediately after they met as adults felt really out of place for me, they get together quite quickly, and then it felt like the 3rd-act conflict () took up about a third of the book. I got frustrated at the pacing and ended up speed-reading a big chunk of the last 50%, skipping sex scenes completely (they just felt a bit repetitive and were getting in the way of the plot when all I cared about was finding out how they'd make things work). I'm also not a bit fan of characters declaring someone is "the love or their life" when they've only JUST said I love you to each other. And the scene that'd made me most interested in this book from Brad and Finn's story () was just one paragraph in this, which was disappointing.

I did really enjoy the genderqueer Daddy element, and "any she, he or they can be a Daddy" is a great tagline.

I really wanted to love this one. I'm a sucker for an unexpected role reversal, especially in a Daddy dynamic, but this just didn't land for me. The premise had so much potential - a genderfluid, sunshine Daddy and a grumpy, closeted sub who's built like a tank? Yes, please. But the execution just never hit the emotional or romantic notes I was hoping for.

Atlas had his moments of charm and confidence, but there didn't seem to be any effort put into developing real emotional depth or connection between him and Miles. Miles, meanwhile, felt inconsistent. Sometimes endearing and precious, sometimes frustratingly closed off. I just didn't really buy the chemistry between them.

I love the exploration of identity, confidence and queerness in small-town, Southern setting, but the pacing felt uneven and their conversations felt forced. By the time things wrapped up after 300+ pages - and I think the story probably could have been tightened up - I still wasn't convinced that their relationship was built on a solid foundation. I love that the author explored this dynamic and brought more gender diversity into the queer romance space, I just wish it felt more real.

This book had zero grumpy and zero sunshine. It’s a closeted Miles filled with insecurity and the belief that coming out will destroy him meeting someone — instantly falling in love and wanting to come out for his new lover — and then getting some therapy. It’s Atlas the perfect Daddy with zero personality just existing in order to fuck Miles, then abandon him so Miles can decide if he wants to come out of his shell, come out of the closet, and for once take a chance on himself. He does, and it’s a happy ending.

However, this is all telling; a very rushed telling with the two of them knowing one another less than three months before deciding they’re each others one and true loves. It’s hard to believe they’re in love, though, when all I ever see is the fucking. There’s no real chemistry, no romance, no time spent getting to know each other as people, just … fucking and being told by the book that they have feelings at the same time.

I’m sorry. The writing is decent, but the pace is horrible as the book skips every real moment to build character in order to get to the characters coming, with months passing by between chapters in which I’m certainly not invited to see the two of them fall in love.

Pass.

Atlas & Miles

After losing his marketing business in Seattle, Atlas (a self-proclaimed gendersparkly transgender human) returns to their hometown of Gomillion, where they reconnect with Miles. Miles is the local handyman and has spent his life in the closet. He’s had a thing for Atlas since their school days, and the two quickly fall in love, and explore their mutual Daddy/boy k!nk. But will Miles find the courage to live authentically and will Atlas be happy with small town life?

I enjoyed reading Atlas and Miles’s relationship blossom. They have foundations of genuine respect and like for each other, and their unconditional support was touching to read. The k!nk aspects were handled respectfully from what I can tell and overall this felt like a lovely, sweet romance, and actually fairly low-angst for a coming out story.

This book is part of a series I haven’t read but meeting lots of other characters has made me intrigued to go and seek out the other books from other authors.

Many thanks to the author for the chance to read this ahead of release. I really enjoyed it and will be seeking out their other books asap 😊

"You saw me, Atlas. You looked beyond the surface and saw me for the boy I am. You make me want to be free, to show everyone who I really am" - Miles

"I know you said I see you, but you see me, Miles. Most guys don’t want to be with a gendersparkly human like me." - Atlas

Miles has had a crush on Atlas since school, and 20 years later, they see each other again. Miles isn't out yet; he struggles a lot with putting his own happiness first. Eventually, he started learning more about what he really wants and went to therapy (on page), which helped him a lot. Atlas has always been themself, and Miles wants to celebrate every part of Atlas, but he's just not ready to be out. Atlas is very patient and kind to their sweet boy. They took the time to explore kinky, spicy times. I loved reading about the journey of taking their time to understand what they both want for themselves and figure out how they could be together. Atlas is such a sweet person and the perfect person for Miles. I also loved the conversations at the school reunion from their perspective.

I received an ARC copy of this book.

This was my first book by this author, and I was honestly surprised by how much I loved his writing style. There’s this beautiful mix of gentleness and humor, with just the right amount of steam and heartfelt moments. It felt effortless in the best way.

The dynamic between Atlas and Miles completely won me over. They’re the perfect “opposites attract” pair: Atlas being the bubbly, sunshine type and Miles the quiet, gentle grump.
Their chemistry felt so natural, never forced, and I really appreciated how balanced their relationship was. No unnecessary drama, no frustrating miscommunication. Just two adults who actually talk to each other, even when things get hard.

If I had to nitpick, the plot was a bit predictable at times. You can kind of tell where things are heading early on, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just meant there weren’t many surprises for me personally.

Still, I really enjoyed this one. It left me with that warm, happy feeling you get after spending time with characters who just fit. I’ll definitely be checking out more of this author’s books!

This is a story of a grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract romance between Miles, a grumpy, closeted former jock and handyman, and Atlas, a "fabulous out-and-proud twink" and Daddy. Miles is thirty-seven, lonely, and secretly craving a Daddy to care for his needs. His life is shaken up when Atlas, a "gendersparkly" and openly queer man, moves back to town. Atlas is instantly determined to make Miles his, despite Miles being closeted. The story centres on Miles being forced to choose: keep his secret and remain alone, or finally come out and claim the sunshine human he desperately wants. The central conflict is whether Miles can risk his secret life for the love of the "out-and-proud" Atlas before it's too late.

I loved this story with the two men who were in the same year at school and how they reconnected. I loved the careful attention to pronouns and gender identity. Consent was also carefully handled as were the Daddy and boy roles. Lots of emotions and feelings as Miles worked through his issues revealing his sexuality and Atlas as they worked out their relationship. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.

This book is part of the twelve-book, multi-author Gomillion High Reunion collection where various alumni meet up, hook up, and find their happily ever afters with one another. You don’t need to have read the other books in the collection to enjoy this one, though characters from other books do make small cameos.

The pacing is really what let this book down, with its seeming determination to get to the sex scenes without taking the time to build up the relationship, the romance, or the characters.

And if that’s what you want, and all you want, then this book might work for you in a way it didn’t work for me. I just felt like I was being pushed along, faster and faster, until I was shoved out the door. While the writing is fine, I didn’t enjoy my time with this book.

Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion:
Atlas and Miles were featured in a couple of the earlier Gomillion Reunion books I read and I was really interested in reading their story. What stood out the most for me was the excellent characters, Miles and Atlas are opposite both physically and in their personality. I love grumpy sunshine and this one was quite good and an original take for me, I don’t think I’ve read grumpy sunshine combined with Daddy/boy in quite this way. I also liked the pacing, we get to spend quite a lot of time with these two. We know a bit of where they end up from the other books but it was cool to see how they got to their reunion HEA. If I’m being picky, I skimmed a lot of the spicy times as the dialogue through those was a bit much. A small thing though, I enjoyed this one, it has great characters, excellent relationship development, and a bit of angst to keep it interesting.

I absolutely loved this. A dynamic I haven't seen before in this kind of romance, with Atlas being transgender and absolutely sparkly - I love the term gendersparkly which I hadn't seen before but it is the fabulous Atlas from head to toe. Atlas moves back to Gomillion because his business in Seattle folds, and he connects with an old friend, or perhaps acquaintance, Miles. They find out they have a lot in common and while Miles isn't out and has to go through that journey, he and Atlas fall in love. But then Atlas loses his job in Gomillion, but gets a chance to go back to Seattle and work with some people, and find out more about why his company failed. This is a lovely journey for both men, finding some fun and spice on the way. I also enjoyed seeing some characters from the other books in the series that I have read.

I received an advance copy from the author and this is my honest review of this story

This one broke my heart a little. Atlas is loud and proud. He has never been in the closet ever in his life. Miles has never had the courage to tell the truth, hiding his real self from everyone and keeping his distance. Miles has to find his truth and work on himself in order to be ready to step out of that closet door. Atlas has Daddy instincts so strong and wants to help him, but where is the line? How much do you give before it is too much? And what is finally enough to make someone be brave and step into their truth? Atlas and Miles are perfect for each other and, sooner or later, hiding will take off the shine. I don’t always agree with the statement that you have to love yourself before you can be loved because each situation is different, but Miles needs to figure out who is truly is before he can be 100% happy.

"Atlas & Miles" is a contemporary romance romance book. It's part of the Gomillion High Reunion series, which is a multi-author collaboration, and each book can be read as a standalone.
I felt a connection with both Atlas and Miles right away. Their struggles were realistic and relatable. It was easy to root for them to find their happily ever after as a couple. I also wanted them to overcome their individual problems and I enjoyed their character growth. Towards the end of the book they had to make a hard choice and I liked how the author handled the situation.
I also really enjoyed the setting with the high school reunion.
They were very very good together and their dynamic was fun and delicious.
It was a really sweet romance and I'm intrigued by some of the other characters at the reunion. Especially Finn and Brad.

My heart wasn't ready for everything Atlas and Miles made me feel. For the moments I held my breath, laughed out loud, ugly cried, and had my heart healed.
Miles, the quiet boy, who lived his life as a shadow, always being the strong one. Atlas, the boy who unapologetically lived his life out loud. A secret high school crush, reignited so many years later. A Daddy and a Boy find each other.
In a moment when life seems perfect, reality rears its ugly head. Is their love strong enough to overcome this challenge? Do they love each other enough to give the other what they need?
I'm not going to spoil it for you...grab a couple of tissues, find your favorite reading corner, and your favorite snack. Say hello to Atlas and Miles and enjoy their story. My heart may not have been ready for their story, but I couldn't put it down once I started. The pages kept turning and I fell into their story, with zero regrets.

A gendersparkly Daddy? Yes please and thank you, count me in! This was cute and I think it would have made a fantastic novella, but unfortunately it dragged horribly. I liked the characters, especially Atlas, but my god this book was tedious. Needed to cut a lot of the length and simplify it, and stop making up silly reasons why they can't be together. Just over 300 pages isn't actually that long but unfortunately it felt like millennia, and interspersed with the unnecessary and overblown angst were a ton of absolutely interminable sex scenes. Normally I'm into a bit of smut but there was way too much in this and it was repetitive. Also spent way too much time on side characters, trying to convince me to read the other books. It's a real shame, cos it should have been good, but oh well.

Thank you to GRR for the ARC
