Exposing Sin

Rate this book
A killer’s calling card resurfaces in the chilling next installment of the Touch of Evil series by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne...

When the family of Lila Hartman turns to S&E Investigations, they’re convinced their daughter was the fourth victim of a murderer who was supposed to be long gone. More than a decade ago, the Photograph Killer terrorized Ohio, sending two Polaroids to local one capturing his victim alive, the other showing her strangled with a yellow scarf just twenty-four hours later.

Three murders were officially linked to him—until Lila’s body surfaced after the killing spree had seemingly ended. Her case went cold. Forgotten.

Until now.

Hidden among a box of undelivered mail from a shuttered newspaper, a Polaroid of Lila surfaces—proof that the Photograph Killer had claimed at least one more victim. With new evidence in hand, Brooklyn Sloane and her team trace the killer’s dark path back to a small Ohio town where his reign of terror first began. But the town guards its secrets—and its sinners—closely. No one welcomes outsiders, especially those digging into a past they’ve tried to bury.

As Brook unearths the truth, she’s haunted by a deeper, personal the disappearance of her brother, Jacob Walsh. His body was never recovered. His fate remains unknown. And sometimes, in the quietest moments, she can still feel him watching.

Exposing Sin😈

Wow, Kennedy Layne is the Queen of suspense, a masterful storyteller. She weaves these together with intricate details and such relatable characters…this story and series has absolutely captivated me from the beginning🙌

Brook and her team are asked to investigate a cold case, when a photograph at a defunct newspaper office is found, indicating that a serial killer who was believed to have killed three women, might have in fact killed four. Taking in the case, Brook and her team end up in the small town where the first victim was murdered.

Honestly, I should’ve guessed who it was but the outcome was so different to what I expected about this particular serial killer, I had no idea until the end. Some interesting tidbits are given by the author and I’m now eagerly awaiting the next book.

Kennedy Layne does it again with this addition to her amazing series. Her writing draws you in, holds you hostage, and makes you not want to put it down until you are finished!

We have fallen in love and grown invested in the lives of the characters is this series and always look forward to the next one.

The suspense, intrigue, and even bits of comedic moments thrown in make for an amazing read. I will never look at twizzlers the same way again! lol

This is part of a series and should be read in order. Highly recommend.

I don't know if I have enough adjectives to properly describe Ms. Layne's writing & her newest book "Exposing Sin(Touch of Evil #14)!!. First of all I can't believe this is book 14!! And I could easily read 14 more!! Her books draw you in, wrap you up in the plot until you feel like you are part of the story & then you are quite literally hanging on every word!! It's so frustrating to be reading in bed & fall asleep before I'm ready to stop reading & then wake myself up over & over again to try & read to see what's happening to these people who I feel like I know personally!!!! Her reading will do that to you!! This is one of my favorite series of hers & I think if you give Brooklyn, Theo, Bit, Sophie, Arden & Graham a try that you'll be hooked too!! I highly recommend "Exposing Sin" by Kennedy Layne, this one, like the 13 before it are incredible!!!! Read. This. Book.

This series continues to get better with each book. The characters are well drawn and grow through the series. Relationships and trust among the main characters develop more fully. Each book has a different case with the over arching background of Brooklyn's brother. This case was was written, as well as, interesting from a crime solving perspective. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it but believe it will most enjoyable by reading the series in order.

I couldn’t wait to dive in and see the next adventure Broke and her team get into and this one had me stumped until the big reveal.

I’m loving Brooke’s new attitude about her brother and look forward to a showdown.

Enjoyable, intense, who-done-it reading. I would have NOT suspected the person at the end. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Love seeing how the investigation changes

Though I do wish we got more insight to why the unsub did what they did and maybe even some of the evidence or trophies
