Elemental Enchanters #2.5

When Darkness Fell

Rate this book
In the aftermath of another battle, Savina is desperate for ways to end the war against the dark Enchanters. She turns to her archaic journal that tells the story of how the war started in hopes of giving her clues.

In the journal, Savina and her half-brother Colden live in a small Scottish village in the mid-1600s, keeping their identities as Enchanters a secret. But when a strange plague threatens the town, Savina and Colden must kill the source before the entire town is annihilated. The problem is, the source is their father.

Carrigan was born in Cullman, Alabama, but grew up in Birmingham, and moved to Atlanta at 18. She earned her BA in English at Kennesaw State University. For as long as she can remember, she was always making up stories and characters inside her head, sometimes using her dolls to act out the scenes.

When she's not writing (which is rare), she's spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, playing with her sometimes psychotic puppy, or cheering on her Atlanta Braves.

I read an Arc, I love this book, all the background information on Savina is amazing. I loved learning how she met Aaron and learning about her first love George.
The struggles her and Coldton had with their father Corbin. Its just amazing. Loved every minute.

I love this story! It was exciting, suspenseful, and even a little sad. I really enjoyed learning more about Savina and Colden's past. It was also nice to see a different side of Corbin before he turned into the vengeful person he is now. I love when books bring out emotions from me while reading it and just like Carrigan's other books When Darkness Fell is no exception to this.

This was awesome! It turned out to be a short story, but a very necessary one. You learn of how Savina comes to Corbin’s and becomes his daughter. You learn of her healing the villagers. You learn of her first love, of war, hatred and betrayal. You learn of two kids on the run for a very long time and so afraid of their father finding them. You learn of how they became to be who they are today.
