Maer Wilson’s "Ghost Dancer" is a dynamic ghost/crime/detective story. This was a beautiful tale to get absorbed into. Right away I was in another world and I loved the escape. Imaginative and fully entertaining.
Quirky characters with personality and of course, the dog is a winner. Fell in love, instantly. This story with it’s paranormal twists charmed me all the way through. A real delightful read.
Ghost Dancer has a great intriguing plot line that pulled me in emotionally. Danika, is full of life, even though her life has been taken from her. Now from the dead she wants to find and protect her dog, Rudy.
La Fi and Thula are unusual detectives with their own special gifts. Their agency is geared towards the supernatural so anything can happen.
Quote ~
"Song after song Danika danced. I watched her expression go from uncertainty to pleasure to exultation to the purest joy I'd ever seen. I was grateful to get to watch this incredible girl, but saddened to realize that no one else would ever enjoy her talent. I was pretty sure she could have had a good shot at winning the contest had she lived to enter it."
"Ghost Dancer" by Maer Wilson is another one of her beautiful ghost detective stories with Thulu and La Fi who are always busy with requests from the dead to sort out their problems. This time a ten year old girl, Danika, comes to look for her missing dog. Turns out Danika was murdered by a serial killer and medium La Fi and her husband Thulu get on the search for the dog and then the killer.
Cute, charming and told with wit and warmth this is probably the best in this paranormal ghost hunter series yet. The girl and her dog make for a moving canvass but the story itself is straight forward crime investigation and it is good. The series is becoming something of an addiction for me and medium La Fi my favourite character with her caring and gentle manners and great sense of humour.
Colourful characters, a good plot and a dog and a child to pull on your heart strings, this novelette never gave me a chance to dislike it. Highly recommended.

I suppose you could say I've fallen in love with Thulu and La Fi. Not only are they compelling characters, but I like them and I love how they spend their time. In this short story, Thulu and La Fi are confronted by a young dancer that was murdered before she was able to accomplish her greatest dream, that of being on television. She comes to our paranormal detectives because she's worried about her dog. The man that murdered her still has him and she wants him back before her beloved pet is murdered, too.
But, for Thulu and La Fi, there are other matters to consider like: the murderer has a small son, he may be a serial murder, and is he torturing Danika's lost pup?
Once again, Ms Wilson's writing is smooth and easy to follow. Also, once again, I found myself lost in the story which is always a good thing. I love a good detective novel and I adore the paranormal. What could be better than a series filled with both?
I can't wait to read the next story, Ghost Memories.
"Ghost Dancer" by amazing author Maer Wilson is an amazing and wonderful ghost detective story. Thulu and La Fi are busy with requests from the dead to solve their problematic issues. Danika a ten year little ten year old girl looks for her loving dog who went missing. The medium La Fi and her husband Thulu begin the search for the dog and go onto find the killer.
This story has a great sense of humor, gripping and interesting with a sense of charm and warmth. The story is a simple suspense and crime investigation which I started and did not put the book down till the very end. La Fi a favored character very caring, gentle with a great sense of wit. Highly recommended book and very much enjoyed. Look forward to more reading from Author Maer.
Ghost Dancer may be the saddest of the Thulukan Chronicles. I think this story may take place between Relics and Portals. Fi and Thulu are faced with a bad situation, and solve the problem in the best way they can, but with tragic consequences. The acceptance and warmth of Thulu's extended family, and the relationship between Fi and Thulu are two of my favorite things in the Chronicles. Fi's paranoia about government experimentation in the face of her normal levelheaded attitude always makes me chuckle. Even though Ghost Dancer was a short story, it made my day brighter to spend part of it in Fi and Thulu's world.
What an interesting series. I'm not normally a ghost person but I'm game to trying anything and I'm glad I did. This is a very good ghost detective story and while short it really packs it all in.
We have everything from ghost, humor and everything in between to keep you wanting to finish. I think La Fi is my favorite character <3
Highly recommend to any paranormal fans especially ghost ones. I look forward to reading more of this series. So glad I was able to read this.
Amazing read, written beautifully that takes readers to the beautiful but sometimes harsh life in the Philippine's. My father was stationed here during world war II so I found this great read even more compelling. The author has combined fiction and fact in an amazing combination with characters that jump off the page as the reader's are lucky enough to follow the journey. The author knows how to tell an amazing tale and readers will want to read this well written book over and over again.
Pulled me in and kept me riveted to the end. A little bland, but executed nicely. A calm read with a little bit of suspense, for a short read..I highly recommend it.
Okay yes short story. So don't think it should had been too rushed. Storyline was alright. Fi and her husband sees and hear dead people. Well Fi hears her husband supposed to be deaf but still trying to figure out if he's deaf how did he get a call from the cop that warned him about the serial killer. Hmm
But anyway a young girl name Danika is dead and looking to get help from them to get her dog away from the man that killed her. Also with the help from another dead child name Parker that had lots of information on the serial killer.
They come up with a plan getting the dog but it lead the killer at their backdoor.
Danika still got to do her dance before going into the light. But still don't know how Parker died.
Just a okay story. Could of used more details and stayed on point with what's really happening. Such as if your character is deaf and can only read lips then what's up with him talking on the phone. Maybe I misunderstood that part.
Although it was a sad story it had me spellbound from the beginning I like the fact that one could see and talk to their client and th other could find find things.
Fully enjoyed this book. The characters were brought to life....or dead to life. This was my first in this series by this author. Can't wait to read more. Delightful beginning to end.
A husband and wife detective team , each with a special power help ghosts with problems.
This was a fun , little short story. The premise is interesting. A medium and a finder helping the departed with their mysteries. But that doesn't mean there aren't dangers to what they do, especially when they are tracking down the still living serial killer for the departed. I also enjoyed how they had to work harder to keep their powers from the police when they need their help.
This story is mainly intended to be an introduction to the longer stories in the series. In that respect, I feel that it works very well. The only problem is that while the story works in a short form, it doesn't necessarily show how a longer story will read. Still, I enjoyed the story well enough to add the other books to my to read pile (mountain might be a better word than pile though).
A sad yet happy story that will make you feel as conflicted as LaFi and Thulu. An interesting case with heavy and sad overtones. The risk and the threat are real but it brings home the cruelty that the human race is capable of. It is a good read.
La Fi and Thulu are a husband and wife paranormal detective team. Together, they help deceased clients with assorted tasks, like locating lost items. When a deceased young girl shows up in their home to say she was murdered and the killer stole her dog, La Fi and Thulu are quickly on the case.
I was intrigued by the title and description of this book. It sounded like it would be something that would interest me. I wasn’t overly disappointed, nor was I overly enthusiastic. The book definitely has a YA vibe. I think teens might enjoy it, although it does deal with some heavy subject matter.
Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the book is super short and that results in a very rushed feeling throughout. Things happen far too fast for any real suspense to be built up. Since it’s free and just 39 pages, there’s no real commitment involved so it’s worth downloading to give it a try. I considered giving the book 3 stars, but I think it deserves an extra star for its uniqueness.
