Sunny never meant to fall for a man like Bones. But when danger comes knocking and her world is ripped apart, it’s the enforcer with the dark past and haunted eyes who stands between her and the shadows. And once she’s his, he’ll burn the world to protect her.
He’s never trusted easily. Never cared deeply. But Sunny isn’t like anyone else. She’s sunshine in the middle of his storm. And once she’s in his arms, there’s no going back.
He’ll fight for her. She’ll fight for him. And together, they’ll take on enemies that don’t play by the rules.
In this world, love isn’t given. It’s claimed. And it comes with scars.
TRIGGER WARNING This book contains references to kidnapping, captivity, torture, physical violence, PTSD, drug overdose and some emotionally intense situations. As always, your well-being comes first, so please make the choice that’s right for you.
Carol Dawn was born in Maysville, Kentucky, USA, under the name Carolyn Jacobs. Carol is a stay-at-home mom where she spends her days making pb&j sandwiches, picking up toys, and giving her kids more cuddles than they want.
At the young age of five, Carol received a reading medallion for reading over twenty-one books in an eight-week period. So, her literary journey began. She wrote poems, songs, short stories and read many books.
Carol has a slight (MASSIVE) obsession with alpha male/insta-love romance books. If she isn't reading about them, she's writing about them.
When she isn't writing, reading or playing mom, you will find her watching re-runs of Stargate SG1, Startrek Voyager, cooking, coloring mandalas or performing her favorite songs for her invisible audience.
DNF. Sunny is like a child, and she’s really annoying. People stare at her walking down the street as she’s so strange!
How am I supposed to believe Sunny and Bones are in love when she’s 35 and acts like she’s 14??? I can’t cope with her! She says people stare at her when she walks down the street as she’s so weird. Then there’s Bones who scowls and glares at everyone INCLUDING Sunny as he’s scared of his feelings. Is this sounding exactly the same as the first book to anyone else??😡😡😡😡
Sunny works in her local supermarket and though everyone loves her, she has no friends, no social life, and her family only ever seem to see her when they need something, apart from her mother. Although she acts like she’s always happy, she seems sad because she’s lonely. As soon as she sees Bones for some bizarre reason she likes him. I’m not sure why as he’s downright rude to her! When Sunny witnesses a murder in the store, it puts her in danger and Bones watches over her for a few weeks till he decides that she’s safe. She really isn’t safe at all!
Spike is still trying to track down the dealers in his city, and it’s not going well at all. I’m just not enjoying this series and I’m really sad about it, even the parts that are supposed to be exciting are boring.
I don't think I've ever read a book with two characters who are such opposites and yet absolutely perfect for each other.
Bones is dark, with a horrible past that has left its marks (visible and invisible), he's a true protector, ready to do anything to protect those he loves. Sunny is his total opposite, and I think her name explains it all. She's radiant, with a flamboyant personality and sees only the positive. But what Bones is slow to see is that Sunny isn't fragile, and has a strength within her that makes her perfect for him and the world of Iron Shadow.
This book is full of action, laughter, angst, new revelations and a plot that keeps us intrigued from beginning to end. In short, Carol Dawn nailed it again and there's no reason not to fall in love with Bones and Sunny's story.
what an amazing second book to this series. I'm so excited to see what happens next. Bones and Sunny are perfect for each other. I fell in love with Sunny she totally lit up the pages with her silly over the top personality. with Bones being the dark brooding type was a great contrast to Sunny. as always I wish there was more.
OMG, this one was sooo good. Bones and Sunny deserve each other. She was always happy, he was always dark. Prefect pair. She didn't think he noticed her and he didn't think he deserved her. They fought their way to each other, Max was a big help. Thus one had a lot of surprises and suspense and you won't be disappointed.
Bones and Sunny together makes for a brilliant story, I absolutely loved it ❤️❤️❤️ Although she’s quirky and full of happiness this lady is as tough as she needs to be. Bones is funny in his growly protective way and Sunny loves it. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
another home run. Sunny is such a sweet, cheerful person. Bones is dark. they are perfect for each other. Sunny is so upbeat and kind. She brings light and happiness every where she goes. Took Bones long enough to figure out he was made for Sunny. Sunny was so Fiesta when she came against Luis. she never Swears. love sunny and Jack.
I have been eagerly anticipating this book since reading the first book in this series and it was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting and I could not put this down for even a second. I loved Sunny and Bones so much and their journey throughout this story was amazing.
Excellent, I love Sunny she makes me laugh she truly is sunshine on a cloudy day uplifting everyone she touches. Bones just needs to get his head in order. Bones needs Sunny to get him through his darkness. Loved it.
You might like this if you like grumpy sunshine trope. The fmc Sunny was shitting sunshines and rainbows all the time. (It was too much for me.) Once again, it felt like for someone who's 35 years old, they weren't written like an adult. At times, it felt like she was a teenager. For someone who was so positive about life and everyone loved her, why didn't she have any friends.
Bones was a true grump, who didn't think he deserved love and anything good in life.
When bad things happen at the supermarket where Sunny works, Bones and the MC protect her.
*low steam, one short scene at the end of the book.
I had a hard time with this one. I'm sorry no one has sunshine coming out of their body, I'm trying to be nice, as much as Sunny does. She actually got on my nerves. I'm still trying to understand that she's 35 but talks and acts like she's in her earlier 20s. Bones, on the other hand, sounded like a total bad ass nut case. Which I would have absolutely liked buuut he really wasn't, in my opinion. At least he wasn't until the end of the book. The 2 I'm intrigued by is Maverick and Max, but I'm not sure if I will read any more of this series if there are any more books coming out.
Bones and Sunny are so opposite that it just make sense that they are perfect for each other. I loved how confident she was with her golden retriever personality and how she owned it right up front. She won Bones over by being herself and he won her over by being his normal Darth Brooder. I absolutely live this Dark to Light stories and how each person still can be themselves with the other.
All in all this was a fantastic installment to this series. Sunny just lightens up Bones dark corners and she accepts him for who he is. Once Bones committed to her that was it, over for him. There is no past women/men drama.
The author does a great job addressing some real life epidemics that we have going one in the world and how it destroys families with something as easy as eating a cookie. If only we could have MC's like the Iron Shadows to help eradicate them. Definitely pay attention to the TW.
One thing that I wish was that Bones could've opened up a little more about his past. He gave the basics when asked about his scar but didn't really elliborate. Having Marv as his foster dad was such a shock to Sunny and with no background.
Sunny by name, sunny by nature—she’s the light in everyone’s day.
Nothing ever seems to darken her bright spirit. That is, until she accidentally overhears a brutal murder and finds herself drugged, kidnapped, and thrown into a nightmare she never saw coming.
Bones is the opposite—scarred by a past filled with pain and violence. With both visible and invisible wounds, he's built walls high enough to keep the world at bay. Cold. Calculated. Dangerous. He protects what’s his, no matter the cost.
When Sunny’s life is thrust into danger, it awakens something in Bones—something fierce and deeply protective. But what he doesn’t expect is for this ray of sunshine to fight back... and to shine light into the darkest corners of his soul.
In the face of fear, Sunny proves stronger than anyone ever imagined—including herself. And Bones? He’ll soon discover that even the hardest hearts can be melted.
Was gifted an ARC, devoured this offering from Carol Dawn.
This book was amazing. I loved getting more character information and diving deeper into this amazing world. I am absolutely obsessed with Sunny! What an amazing character to introduce. All sunshine and flowers but with a steel spine and a heart of gold. This book made it so hard to concentrate on anything else because I just wanted to know what would happen next and I didn’t want to miss out on what new development would come. Bones was one of those characters with layers you just wanted to peel back to see what all there is to them. I am also a sucker for a broody man with a past that falls hard and possessively. That might be part of why I liked this book so much. Seriously though, such a good book! I am excited for all things to come!
I often say that the FMC that author Carol Dawn writes are always ones I look up to, ones I want to know in real life. And sunny is on the top of that list!!!! She's so persistently happy! Always with the silver lining and the bright side. So many of us need that in our lives and this author gave her to us!!!
Bones is grumpy, and broody, and so perfectly amazing for Sunny, and no matter how hard he insists he doesn't need her, he's powerless to resist her. (As he should be!)
Another one click from author Carol Dawn, and another amazing story to get us through this thing called life. No cheating, HEA, and guaranteed edge of your seats feels!!
Carol Dawn has added another hit to her list of stories. Property of Bones is the second book in her newest series. It’s Bones and Sunny’s story about how even the Darkest Shadow needs their Light and the Brightest Light needs their Shadow. Bones is a Man born from Darkness who lives in the Shadows protecting others from the monsters that lurk within society. Sunny is the type of person who brings light into everyone’s life having the privilege to come within her sphere. Sunny’s light balances Bones’ darkness and Bones’ darkness protects Sunny’s light so it can continue to shine. I give this book 5 Stars and recommend reading Carol Dawn’s other books.
This book was what I love in an MC romance—gritty, emotional, and somehow still full of heart.
Sunny is all light and positivity, while Bones is dark, broody, and deadly—literally. He protects what's his at any cost, and when she accidentally gets caught up in the MC’s dangerous world, their paths collide hard.
They’re total opposites, but that’s what makes them work. Her warmth chips away at his walls, and he gives her something solid to hold onto. The tension, the chemistry, the danger—it’s all there, and Carol Dawn delivers another addictive read.
Loving this new series already. Can’t wait for what’s next!
Bones the club enforcer, is tough, gruff and wears scars from his traumatic past. The last thing he expects on a job at the grocery store, is to have his hard heart melted by store worker Sunny.
Sunny is bright, funny and adored by all who know her, she is determined to break through Darth Brooders frosty demeanour.
An emotional rollercoaster as the club race to hunt down the enemy, it’s full of tension, edge of your seat drama, danger, twists and tenderness as opposites attract.
This is the second book in the Iron Shadows MC series and I can’t wait for more.
I received the arc for this book and I can’t even begin to say how much I enjoyed it! Carol dawn never disappoints Bones was the absolute sweetest and most loving character I have read in awhile and the MFC was a perfect match for him she was new compared to the same MFC there was mystery action and some of what happened in spikes book was resolved I can’t wait to read more of the series. I definitely recommend this book and the series
Firstly I need to say I LOVE sunny and I need her in my life. What a fantastic character.
This book is the ultimate grumpy/sunshine book, Sunny and Bones are total opposites yet they totally work.
There was so much going on in this book that it kept me intrigued from the start; I love the Iron Shadows and there dynamic. To be fair I love all Carols Books she is a one click buy for me.
This series just keeps getting better with each book. Sunny and Bones are complete opposites and he vows to keep his Sunny burning bright and safe and she is the light to his dark. Book has it all…action, suspense, humor and above all, a great love story. I would recommend reading the series in order as some of the storyline is moving from book to book and what a great storyline it is. All of the characters are intriguing and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.
Property of Bones by Carol Dawn was super enjoyable. This is Bones and Sunny's story. Bones is the grumpy enforcer for the Iron Shadows. Sunny is just adorable. She is all rainbows and sunshine. When Bones fights the attraction and Sunny goes all in their banter is golden. Lots of gritty MC action that will make you cringe. In the end the Iron Shadows take care of their own. No cheating and always the ending you wish for. Carol Dawn hit another home run. Kudos.
Carol really spun this story that there was no way you could put it down. The guys in the MC club are just as fiercely protective with their ladies and even sisters, as any other MC that Carol has written. I totally adore Sunny for her optimism, sweetness, and of course, her sunny personality, but yet naive at times, but strong at other times. Bones is just way too hard on himself, but he got his Sunny after all. Happy reading! Highly recommend!
This new MC series of Carol Dawn's is another amazing story. This book had a typical alpha biker who thinks he knows best, until he almost loses his heart. He think someone so good and always has a sunny disposition would fit into his world. Just let me say the heart wants what it wants. I am already for her next book. To see what crazyness these bikers get into.
Proof that opposites really do attract. Sunny really does live up to her name she is sunshine and happiness, light and laughter where Bones is a dark and broody grump who takes his job as protecting everyone to the max. This couple are perfect for each other, I love how this series has started and I’m looking forward to seeing where Carol is going to take us.
I loved this book. Sunny who is all light and sunshine and Bones all dark, together they are perfect. Bones falls for Sunny in an instant but doesn't think he deserves her. Sunny doesn't care about Bones dark side and does all that she can to prove it. Bones and the club help Sunny when she is taken and do everything to get her back. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one.
OMG!!! I just knew that Bones was gonna have an amazing story. But I cannot tell you how much I love Sunny! Yes, I love all the characters that Carol Dawn has ever written, But by far Sunny is my absolute favorite. I aspire to be her! Lol. You have got to read this book. It is absolutely amazing. You are gonna fall in love with both of them. What an amazing story.
I have to say this is probably one of my favorite couples. Property of Bones is fantastic. I love Sunny so much. I love that she chooses to be happy and focus on the good instead of dwelling on the bad things. Sunny and Bones compliment each other so well. There is a lot of Carol in this story and I love it.
Wow! Where do I start?!? I have never met a couple that was so perfectly yin & yang until Bones & Sunny- complete opposites but they merge together seamlessly! Of course there were some flaws to get to perfection but what a story! No spoilers, but I have to say...Max!!!!
Omg. sunny and bones are relationship goals that made me cry. Their relationship and connection is off the charts. I adore this author and series so I never have a bad word but tho one got time on so many levels. Epic
