This sequel definitely delivered

This is the second book in Sienna's new mafia series and she has me in a choke hold. I can't get enough with this series. In this book we learned about Mama Stewart he'd back story and why she can't be touched, we also see how things are setting up the foundation to how Memo slowly starts to transform into The Wolf. I believe this book is the platform for the series. I love all the nuggets Sienna drops in this book slowly revealing the pieces to this intricate story of Melo and Kathy, Mama Stewart, Matteo and Deb and even Jose. This story is coming together so many questions were answered while I have 20more.

I Am Loving This Series!!!

I cannot wait for the next book in this series... Sienna Mynx did the the damn thing! There were a few grammar errors however, in no way did it stop or distract frim the story.
A lot of my questions have been answered however, I now have more questions that need to be answered. The glue that was holding one family together came undone while the glue holding the other family together required more glue. We begin to see why Matteo is called the Butcher, and Carmelo, yes you will definitely begin to see the making of the The Wolf.

Ms. Mynx there are so many WTF moments going on that had me sitting up straight! But the one that had me saying awww sookie sookie now was the name Giovanni Battaglia...Lawwwed she done brought my baby daddy into the story..lol. If you are not familiar with who Giovanni is, please read the authors Battaglia series, you will not be disappointed.

I am looking forward to the next book....I can't say much without giving away spoilers which I'm not going to do. Just know that this book will not disappoint. Well Done Ms. Mynx!!!!

This is no ordinary book it is a love letter to black girl magic, soul food, family, black history, black women, secrets, murder and the hardships and struggles we go through the attempts to erase us, erase our history and make us believe in our inability to rise out of the ashes. Yet we succeed, we rise with even more firsts, triumphs, love and black magic and excellence. The love stories interwoven throughout are fantastically told and full of heartbreak and intrigue. I can not wait to read even more from this series and each book is getting stronger and even better. I love that at the heart of teh love story is the tradition of the protection of family. Family is who you love, who you live and die for, and it can not be stopped. 5-star winner- must read, start and follow series.

Wasn't sure about this series...But now am locked IN....
I am so in love with Debbie and Matteo. I love that family is so important to them. Rooting for a happy ending for them, and plenty of stolen moments in between and a lil bambina. She ain't that old! They intrigue me... getting a flavor of Zo/Carlo& Shae? Seems like Matteo is gonna have a real rough patch...not looking forward to that as I am really liking the character so far.

As for Melo and Kathy, some parts of their story is too incredible for them to continue. I am not liking them in present day. Sorry. Interested to see how they unfold, but I am not interested in them being the moral high ground on right and wrong.
Also want to see more flashbacks with Mama Stewart & Emilio.

I enjoyed this book!! I was anticipating this book, and it did not disappoint. I loved reading more of Matteo and Debbie’s story. I like them just as much as Carmelo and Kathy. I loved reading about their family, with the kids. Those interactions were so realistic and I loved it!!

I look forward to future books. There’s so much more to flesh out. I want to know more about Janey and her husband. I want to see the transformation of Carmelo into the Wolf, and when he and Kathy reunited as adults. I can’t wait to read all of that.

I enjoyed this so much that I went back and re read all of my highlights from the Battaglia books from book 3-10. I’m hooked and I’m excited!! Thanks Sienna Mynx, because her stories get me so excited and drawn in and I love it!

A beautiful continuation to The Poison Cherry, where secrets and revelations are revealed.

It was an emotional ride. Without Ely, Kathy, Carmelo, Debbie, Matteo, Brenda, Henry, Pete, Catherine/Caroline (I forgot Debbie’s mother’s name) Big Mama, Mama Stewart, Cosimo, Janey, Lucia, Jose….this book wouldn’t have been.

The title comes from Janey stirring up trouble with some poisoned candy that causes death.

The ending??? Lmao, I did not expect that from The Wolf (Carmelo). You didn’t think he died, did you? How could he die when book 1 made it clear that something wasn’t right?

Strong 3.5 stars

It was so nice getting to experience Kathy and Carmelo fall and grow more in love. My only critic is too many side stories. Like yes Matteo and Debbie are cute and all but why was most of the book about them 😭😭😭 I love great side characters, just not when they take up too much screen time from the mains.

Can’t wait for the next book and I’m hoping to get to experience more Melo and Kathy. I want to see what made Melo cold. How he became the wolf. There’s so much story to flesh out for the main characters.

I am truly invested in the characters and how everything plays out. There were some shocking reveals and some misconceptions that were clarified. The only thing I wish could be changed is the frequent flashbacks to the past. It was hard for me as a reader to keep the story straight and to train my mind if I was now reading about Brenda vs Kathy or Sandra or Debbie vs Daphne.

Another volume?

I loved this book, until the end! This story answered many questions presented in the first installment Poison Cherry, but created many more questions than answers.

I am a big fan of Sienna Mynx. I read both Poison Cherry and Deadly Candies back to back. I rated both 5-star. they are a very realistic look at life in the 40's - 70's. The characters were easy to identify with. My only criticism is it feels as though there should be a 3rd book. There were so many issues that were not resolved. I still give them 5-stars and hope for a conclusion

WOW. Omg what a sequel! It had me laughing, crying and griping my iPad!

I knew from reading the first book that Matteo and Debbie would be my favourite couple, they honestly give me the feels. The scene at the dinner table with them as a family mad me choke up.

Kathy is truly her mother’s child, she has such strength and she doesn’t even realise.

Mama Stewart and Emlios, story was so interesting. The fact that the author can write about so many characters and their backstory’s without the book getting lost is such a a skill, and why she is one of my favourite authors.

I cannot wait for the next book! I honestly screamed when the Battaglias were mentioned!

Please don’t have us waiting too long 😭
