WOW – I loved this book but damn…what a shocker of a cliffhanger – I’m still reeling from this one!
After 6 months of flirting, Chloe and Aiden had one night together…one magical night that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Then everything changed. Aiden lost his job as head of security at Donovan Corporation (Chloe’s Dad’s Company and where he met Chloe), Chloe left Aiden without a word, Chloe married one of the Company’s biggest rival’s son, Chloe’s father was arrested for embezzling money from the Company and the Company fell apart.
Three years later and Chloe has reappeared. She knows her Dad was framed and after her and her Dad become too close to learning the truth, he is now lying in a coma in a hospital with it being labelled a suicide attempt but Chloe knows better.
In order for Chloe to clear his name and prove who was behind the embezzling, she needs to rob a bank and she needs the help of the man whose heart she shattered. Aiden is now running his own Security Company and has the means and access to complete this job.
Will Aiden be able to forgive and forget the past to help Chloe prove her Dad’s innocence? What will happen when both Chloe and Aiden realise the spark that ignited them previously is still lingering in the shadows?
I love Aiden, he is everything you want in a man…EVERYTHING!

This is my first book by Lilliana Anderson, and I was pleasantly surprised.
'Partners' starts off and it jumps from a different time zone in each chapter, which at first, was a little confusing, but, once I got into it, it was addictive, and I had to keep reading till all hours to find out the end. Believe me when i say, I did not pick the ending, and I'll be interested to hear if others predicted what would happen.
The characters are well written, with the main characters, Aiden and Chloe sharing a lot of history. We learn about them through past and present scenarios in each chapter, and I was especially drawn to Aiden's character, he is serious, loyal, vulnerable at times and very likeable. Chloe is, at times, hard to work out, and it is her personality that kept me guessing throughout the story.
The pair meet up after 3 years apart, when Chloe needs a huge favour from Aiden, to help clear her fathers name. What she asks is illegal, highly risky, but, she knows Aiden is the man for the job, and at times I was questioning his decision to help her. She can be very persuasive and she knows the way to Aiden's heart. The pair were very believable, and this comes from Lilliana's very descriptive writing, that definitely impressed me.
I really enjoyed reading 'Partners', and am looking forward to finding out how this whole story unfolds. Yes, that means there are more books in the series, and this one does end with a bit of a cliffhanger, so consider yourself warned.

Firstly, thanks goes to Lilliana for sending me an ARC of Partners; it was won in a contest she ran a few weeks back. I never win things so to win this from her was amazeballs.
There is a first time for everything and at this moment, after finishing this novel I am speechless... It took me a few minutes to set my kindle down after I read the last page. Speechless for me, never happens but I have to say with this Prequel to the Fire & Lies series its a good speechless. The best really.
This is not my first Lilliana Anderson book and I can damn sure say it won't be my last. She is an amazing author and for Christ sakes she is an Aussie so she is like up on the ladder with The Avengers. (For anyone that knows me that means she is the bomb) Dude, like totes awesome!
Now, Jesus it's like I'm coming off a high or something. This novel sucked me in from page one and had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, choking at times from gasping or laughing. The dynamics of Aiden and Chloe is one of a bomb waiting to explode. They are head over heals. Both ready to rip the others close off and the whole time they are both looking at the 'job' at hand from different angles. They say be careful what you ask for. Trust no one. Keep your cool under pressure. Now, I get why they say that crap. It's not just words. It's good advice.
Chloes Donovan, millionaires kid. Silver spoon prodigy who was knocked on her ass by her fathers head of security makes a vital mistake 3 years ago. She chose family over love and wanting to be with someone that makes her feel alive.
Aiden Price, ex military, ex head of security for Terry Donovan, Chloe's father and the man that makes her knees weak, panties wet and her face flush pink with just a glance. Head of his own security firm. Club co-owner. Boss.
What do they have in common? Besides the desire to have him buried in her balls deep.... they have love.
Or so you think. Maybe it is there, maybe it's not. But after Chloe left Aiden heart broken, messed up emotionally and a complete mess she waltzes back into his life needing help. Help she can only get from him. He wants to hate her but seems to be failing at that. They get into a tangled web of lust, passion and bank robbery. Can he trust her? He isn't sure. Does he trust her? No.
And people, there is sex. Sweet Jesus is there sex. Well played out and placed sex. Just yeah.. so your ass needs to be over 18 to read it! (eyes you all) Trust me... you will approve of the way they make up for lost time together.
But.... when a simple plan, that was not so simple goes a way no one sees coming it leaves you wanting to know, "What int he hell is going on?" and a little speechless. I'm not sure whether I am a fan of Chloe's yet or not. I like Aiden, love him really. He is the epitome of the good guy with a bad side. Chloe... uh so far she is a brat and a pain in the ass. But I have a feeling there is still more to come that will explore who adn what exactly little Miss Donovan is.
Now, there is noooooooooo way can I tell you what happens in this one. (Other than what I just did.. lol) The epicness that is Partners honestly speaks for itself. It's a fantastic read. Epic story and as a Lilliana fan it's a must buy.

I've had the pleasure of beta reading for Lilliana Anderson for almost a year now, when she first sent me the MS for Partners, her latest WIP I was intrigued by the synopsis, it was so different from anything I had read by Lilliana before, I was immediately drawn in to this world she had created, Chloe the daughter of a wealthy business man, and Aiden head of security and her fathers right hand man, are inexplicably drawn to one another, constant flirting and pushing the boundaries finally culminates in one amazing night together, but when the sun rises Chloe is gone and Aiden is out of a job and missing the one woman he was ready to give everything up for.
Fast forward three years and Chloe is back, vengeance her game plan, and Aiden is the only person who can help bring her plan to fruition, but can Aiden trust her again after Chloe tore his heart out and left him confused and wondering what went wrong. Chloe was forced to sacrifice her happiness for her family and her father but now that her father is dying and has been convicted of a crime he didn't commit, Chloe has no option but to seek forgiveness from the one man she loved and left behind, but is Aiden capable of forgiving and forgetting and possibly finding a way back to Chloe.
If I seem like I'm being deliberately vague not giving away much more than the synopsis, that's because I am, there is so much more to this story than just plots of revenge and second chances, there's suspense and intrigue and throughout Partners I found myself, flipping between swooning over Aiden or praying that Chloe's plan could be pulled off, but that final chapter...wow...that one left me scratching my head...trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Well played Ms Anderson, I've read and re read Partners, you had me spellbound from the first page, and I'm still coming to terms with the emotional rollercoaster you took me on with Chloe and Aiden.

Wow Partners first book of the Fire & Lies series is awesome. Its new by Lilliana Anderson and full of suspense, love, romance and action.
Chloe Donovan has a plan and it includes to free her father for what he was framed for. Chloe has been with her fathers company since she was in college. She studied to become a part of it. But one day in walks a man that has captures her heart, but this is a big NO NO with her father. After her father is framed Chloe sets out to free him but to do this she has to break the law. Not a little law but one that could put her in with her father. She needs help and the person to do that doesn't want anything to do with her or to even see her. She hurt him once and he wont have it happen again.
Aiden is top of the line you get when it comes to security. He worked for Chloe's father and wanted Chloe the first time he laid eyes on her but the boss's daughter is one you don't mess with. But Chloe was his passion and he wanted her no matter what. Her father deceived him as did Chloe leaving his heart hard and closed to anyone. He wont go down that road again or will he.
After not seeing her for 3 years she comes back in his life and he doesn't want this. But he wants her no matter what. She owns his heart and he will do almost anything to get her back in his life. But what she wants is his help to free her father and she will do whatever it takes to get her father free even if its going down the road she went with Aiden 3 years ago. She could be the death of him.
Lilliana has captured me again in her stories. She never ceases to hold my attention in her work. Every book is just as captivating from her.
I loved the story and I gave it 5+ stars. It held me captive all the way to the end of it. I cant wait to see where this new series goes. Its going to be one heck of ride and Im ready for it.

What an incredible book this is!
The story is complex, mysterious and so damn addictive! The characters are amazing!
Everything about Partners is intricate! Everything is exceptionally calculated and detail-oriented!
The story is original and adventurous. It draws you from the first line to the last one. It’s really smart, too! The complicated storyline and the characters development make this book and series stand out in the crowd (which is really big, by the way!).
It’s an exceptional first book or prequel (however you wish to call it) for a series..I’m barely able to refrain myself from stalking and begging Lilliana to hurry up and give us Played.
This series is going to EPIC!!
You have to read this one, because if nothing else, everyone else will be talking about it! I guarantee it!
Sometimes, you get the urge to write so much about a book. But, sometimes you just don’t need to. Partners is OUTSTANDING and you MUST READ IT!!
It’s one of the most clever books I’ve read in a while and quite possibly ever!
It has some of the smartest and most intriguing characters I’ve seen!

Full of suspense, deception & desire, Chloe & Aiden's story kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The story unfolds easily through a mixture of past and present story lines showing how Chloe & Aiden's relationship started, ended & started again.
Aiden is the perfect blend of hot, sexy, smart and dangerous. I could easily picture him in real life and it was a beautiful image ;)
I found Chloe to be a blend of naive and kick ass confident woman. I think her character evolves from the past scenes to where she needs to be in the present due to what she's fighting for.
Together Aiden & Chloe are a mix of explosive chemistry and soft intimacy, stealing moments together in the beginning of their forbidden relationship and then taking what they crave when they meet again.
This book definitely leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions but lays the foundation of an exciting story to come which left me wanting more.
Warning - this ends on a big WTF cliffhanger which I didn't see coming but left me wanting to read the next instalment ASAP!!!

As usual this Lilliana Anderson doesn't disappoint. She is a ver talented author I must say. She doesn't bore you, her grammar, vocabulary awesome. Once again she has left me wanting more and asking myself wtf did i miss?- hope I didn't miss anything,

Bitch just told the guy who risked everything for her that she loves him and then goes around to shoot him in the fucking chest. Trust me I was caught off guard. Never in a million years did i think this Bitch would shoot Aiden. Damn I'm pissed

I gave this book 4.5 stars!
WTF...the ending I never seen that coming and was totally surprised. I'm sitting here still shocked and racking my brain trying to figure out if I missed something.
I have to admit it took me a couple of chapter to get into this book, but I'm so glad I kept on reading because I couldn't put it down until the end.
I have mixed opinion about Chloe right now. I think she will do whatever it takes to make it right for her family but I'm not so sure Aiden needs her in his life after the ending.
This was my first story from this author and on this storyline and I absolutely loved it. The characters I'm still trying to figure out who can be trusted and who can't. Guess I'll have to read the second one to see if I can make any sense to why Chloe has done what she has. Over all this book was so worth the read.

Great suspenseful HOT read.
Chloe works for her father’s company, She did not realize her family was about to be betrayed. She is promised to another powerful family. Chloe does not fight this, she does not fight to be with the man she fell in love with. Chloe believes she is protecting him by letting him go. After the betrayal happens Chloe decides the only person she can go to is Aiden. Aiden is still torn apart over Chloe leaving him. Will he help her get to the truth? Need book 2 asap after that ending!

Lilliana has done it again! I've been a fan for awhile now. This book was no difference. It was 5 stars kind of read and this book is only the beginning.
Chloe Donovan was prepped to be apart of her fathers company which is has been apart of since she was in college. After breaking Aiden. He wants nothing to do with her but he is the only person to help her with her father.
This book is a must read! It comes out tomorrow!

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I am super excited over this new Lilliana Anderson series. I think the series name should include "secrets" in the title, because WOW there are a lot. This Prequel gives us a little taste of what is to be a great, suspenseful, twisted romance series. Hold on because this will give you a few surprises.

Another book that’s been sitting on my ereader for the longest time. Wow- I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner. It was a slow burn only because the chapters jump back and forth from 3 years ago and the fortnight leading up to the ‘job’. I couldn’t work out what Chloe was doing spending all those late nights working at the office. I mean, I speculate but not sure if it had anything to do with what she’s doing now back in Aiden’s life. The lengths she goes to get his attention and ask for his help is almost frustrating. I wanted to just yell at her and spit it out which ironically is what Aidan eventually tells her to do. Together from each POV and the past, we find out what happened and where communication broke down and what leads Chloe back into Aiden’s life.
This ends on a big cliffhanger... and i’m kinda annoyed I didn’t pick this up when it was available on all platforms, but having read the sample prologue of the next book, Played- all the memories from the past that get repeated again in here was mostly skipped as I wanted to know immediately what happens now after the ‘plan’ goes out the door.

Suspenseful read that has you wondering WTF at the end because you get hit, face first, with a cliffhanger! And what a cliffhanger it is!!! Thanks goodness for book 2 already being in my possession because wow!

Well with a cliffhanger like this, I am so thankful that I waited to read this book until the release of book two. Should you happen to read just note that you will be one-clicking for book two to see what transpires. Never did I expect that twist to occur, well Played. haha get it (book two's title).
Partners, is a blank term really. You could be lovers, friends, business partners, enemies per say, or the contracted partners. Well you get all these partners in crime in this story of how Aiden and Chloe became Partners until one of them gets Played. As you are reading you meet, Leah and you often ask yourself, "How is he (yes he) connected to this?" OH brother, never did I think this is how they were connected in this deceitful, lie driven, suspenseful story.
Chloe may have followed the rules and worked hard to where she was in her family company, but this just goes to show you that you cannot always trust your families judgement. You may get burned by it, but you love them no matter what and will stop at nothing to clear their name.
Aiden your a rule breaker and you have met your tortuous rule breaker, Chloe. From the beginning, you and Chloe sparked up that office. You followed the rules per say and broke some rules, but not as much except when it comes to Chloe and then her proposition. Based upon that ending, I still question how Jared gets sucked into this mess and why he was left blank? I guess that is the easiest way to put it without revealing the cliffy that we got. Jared is a partner to Aiden's business plus some other turns we see in this story. I know we will get our answer, but holy smokes I now question how real this passion is for Chloe and she is truly playing the Goldsmith's or not.
This book is told from a back and forth perspective as to how Chloe and Aiden met three years ago and until the present time. You will be shocked trust me! Before the book ended I would say, "I need my sugar". Now, I am going to say, "Sugar is no longer sweet". Aiden I am rooting for you and I hope you use your background to resolve the mystery to our Chloe.

When I read the description of this story I knew that I would enjoy it. Partners is a mysterious and complex story that has you guessing what is going on throughout it. The end of the story seriously had me sitting on the edge of my seat and I am so glad that I have the next book to read after that cliff-hanger.
Chloe is a character that is doing what she has to revenge the people that betrayed her family. She is a strong character that grows a lot throughout the story.
Aiden is an alpha male that is sexy and hot. At the end of the story I really felt for him for the pain he experience at the hands of the person that he loves.

I received this book for free via Goodreads First Reads and this is my honest review.
I really liked the storyline. Chloe, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, finds herself needing help from her former lover, Aiden, in order to clear her father's name, by doing something illegal and dangerous. Both of them are very complex characters and it's a pleasure being able to get an insight into what each of them is thinking.
The novel has a very unpredictable plot twist in the end, which makes me eager to read the next books in the series, in order to find out what happens next.
I loved how the chapters were built, jumping from one time frame to another, as the story slowly builds up and the reader begins to understand every side of the matter. Both the main characters share their perspective on the events, while at the same time we get an objective point of view from the narrator, who explains what exactly was the story revolving Chloe and Aiden, how they got together in the first place and how they ended up separating against their will.
I'm, personally, not the biggest fan of accurately described sex scenes, but if you are, then you will definitely like this book. The first sex scene was ok, as it was able to show all the emotions surrounding their newly rediscovered relationship, but afterwards it's like all they were doing was have sex. All day. And night. At all places. I found that a little too much, as I was looking forward to finding out what happens next, but I was blinded by all those sex scenes.
Another thing I found unnecessary was all the swearing. Although it wasn't frequent, it was rather disturbing. Call me a prude, but I just thought a cleaner language would have been more appropriate.
Other than that, I really liked this book and I'm looking forward to reading more of this story. I also want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read her work.

I'm glad I waited until book 2 had been released before reading Partners because what a cliff hanger! Of course now it occurs to me there might be more than two books to the series but too late for that now.
It is the first book I've read by Lilliana Anderson and I loved it. Action, twists and turns, love, great chemistry and heat between our couple with just the right amount of time spent between the sheets (and other places). I'm moving straight on Played which is book 2.

No, no, n-o-o-o!! Tell me I've skipped too far ahead & that this story did not just end with that totally unexpected twist! *frantically scans last few pages*
Darn, that was the end!! A story rich in suspense, raging chemistry and really tender moments between the two main characters: Chloe and Aiden —Lilliana has nailed it again. The scenes she sets, reel you in and take you on a wild journey of lust, mistrust, love and hidden agendas. Cannot wait to see what journey this storyline takes us on in the next book!

I am at a loss for words on how good this book is. The series holds true to it'd words. There are so many lies that you don't know who is telling the truth. I was warned to hold off on reading this due to the ending and cliffhanger but it was too good not to read. Partners I'd completely different than any book that I've read by this author. The plot/storyline is unlike anything that I've read. I can't wait for book 2.

OMG! A must read!
I don't know where to start, this story is very addicting you will not be able to put it down. Aiden and Chole journey you learn how they met and what happened to cause Aiden to be really upset with Chole. And the surprise end I'd going to have you in shock. I can't wait to read the second installment of this series. Definitely recommend this book.

FaBulous storyline with the perfect balance of suspense, drama, action and passion. Chloe and Aiden sizzle and it goes from hot to cold to hot and ends on an unbelievable cliffhanger that leaves you salivating for more. I really can't wait to see what happens next. I hope it's in time for Christmas because that's what I'll be asking Santa for.
