***Warning*** This book is intended for Mature Audiences Only! There's a LOT of F-bombs and other swear words. Very intense sexual situations (some Pegging, Mild CBT, and first time MM anal sex with a demon and his tail.)

As expected she has to prove herself to the men of the division. What she didn't expect is to run into the vampire playmate that she had a one night stand with weeks ago.
Start at the beginning of the journey and find out what really happened in the chain of events that led up to Artisyn being Indebted to Theodore.
Growing up in a small town, Khai L. Bayne always had an over active imagination. The only girl in a family with two boys, many of her nights (and some days), were spent finding creative ways to pass the time. Reading soon found its way as the main outlet for the young Khai, but later that love spread to other avenues, such as poetry, and music. The daughter of a long time “Trekkie” and “Sci-Fi Junkie”, you could say it was imbedded in her DNA to be a fan of the paranormal world. Her parents always nourished her creativity and imagination. Everything from hair to make up were ways for the young Bayne to express herself. Now fast forward to over three decades later, being laid off from a job and super stressed out. Her mother advised her to “take a break” and “use the kindle app to read a book”. After finally following her advice, she downloaded the application, joined a few reader groups, and found the world of Indie Authors. In its land of “Grown-up make believe”, she found an outlet for her creativity. Using an outdated netbook, she spun the first draft of her first book. Fast forwarding a few years later, the sparkle and awe of this wonderful world is still there and the story still continues.

This is Prequel/ Sequel to Indebted: A Sin from Ashes. This is not a stand alone and must be read in order.
So right off the bat I have a small problem with this. As you may have read in the synopsis it states that this book is about the events that led up to Indebted. What the synopsis doesn’t tell you is that at some point in the book it is going to switch to present day and pick up right where the last book left off. At that point I was slightly confused but quickly figured out what was going on.
So for the prequel part of the book it was quite eye opening seeing just how obsessed Theodore was with Artisyn. This book really did nothing to quell my loathing of Theodore; in fact it may have made me hate him even more. Knowing the events that happened prior to the first book really just completed the story for me and cleared up a few questions I had.
As for the sequel part of the book, HOLY SMOKES!!!!! My mind was completely blown. Let’s just say things didn’t happen the way I thought they would. Which is good because I hate predictability in books, it takes all the fun out of it if I can figure out whats going to happen. I will say that this book left me with more questions than answers. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I highly recommend this book to anyone over 18. Great writing, excellent story, and compelling characters.

This book actually worked really well as a prequel and sequel in one to the first book in the series. After how things left off in book one I had soo many questions and just didn't know what would happen next. We get to see what really happened to make Artisyn hate Theodore so much and geeze you have to feel sorry for both of them and where she is now and met new friends of hers. We also see how the others left behind try and deal with Artisyn leaving and how they have to lean on each other to help get through things. I liked learning and understanding more about Takahiro, Rere and of course Abel, Niall, Khaleb and Dionysos and fell in love with them even more and WOW the ending holy hell did not see that coming.
This is an honest review for The Assassin's reading reviewing group.
I can’t express my shock and awe for both books. Simply amazing. Khai pushed to the limit and more. I was enthralled with the characters, story, and well, the whole package. I completely fell in love with Artisyn. By far, my favorite main character I have read. Which I have read more books than most people do in a decade. If there was one female that made me question my gender attraction, it would be her. Tingles in your tummy. I get why all men love her. Artisyn and her life she has lived is enough reason to read both books.
As for the men. My favorite four. Mouth dropping. Eyes bugged out. Speechless. I am not the usual person that would read a story line that blurs the line of sexuality. Khai proved me wrong. How can you love that many characters from a book? It has never happened to me.
I cannot describe how much I loved the books. If you are a person that is shy and only wants sparkles and sunshine at the end of the story, move along. Or, make an exception. Both books will blow your mind.
I will lose my mind waiting for the third book. Reading the third book will be a necessity. Each day after reading both books, I can’t help but think of scenes in the book. Moving in all the right directions.
I rate both books a 5. That is how good both books are. Sigh..
I enjoyed this book even more than the first one, the first half of the story is about what happened before book one and the second half of the book is about the present, where Artisyn is hiding and what the guys are doing to find her. There seems to be a new mystery and quite a few new characters that look like they could be a lot of fun. Again the book ends on a cliffhanger making me scratch my head wondering what is going?! I can't wait to read the next book in the series and see what will happen with the gang. Will the guys find Artisyn? Will she accept them? Who are the new mystery trio and what powers does the little girl hold? Hopefully all of these questions will be answered in book three.
At first I though this book was going to flash back to the beginning of when Artisyn joined up with Theodore when I starting reading it. I got a further along in the book and we jump ahead to present time when the first book ended. I think this was a really good idea by author to give us an idea what really all went on with Artisyn in her past. Artisyn is still fighting her feelings for all the men that she left behind thinking in her mind that she is protecting them when in reality she is hurting everyone involved. I was going crazy by the end of this book and got left wanting more when she leaves the end of this book with a major cliff hanger. I can't wait for the next book to come out and we get to find out what happens to Artisyn, her men and friends.
Avarice: Sins of Sorrow is book 2 in the Indebted series. It reads as a prequel AND Sequel. I can not complain too much about this book. It was well written and the characters are just as well developed as they were in the first. The only problem I have is at some point the book switches to present day and picks up right where the last book leaves off. At that point I was a little confused but quickly figured out what was going on. Again lots of explicit language, sexual content, and violence. If you are not into that type of read I suggest not reading this series. Well done! I look forward to the next book in the series!
**NOTE** This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review
The second book Avarice is the is prequel/sequel to the Indepted book. Both books have lots of explicit language, sexual content, and violence, and supernatural. If you are not that type of reader, these are not the books for you. But if you are ok with reading this type of materiel then these are great books to read. Both books kept you wanting to read more to finish the story to see what happens. Very intense.
Omg! Omg! I hope the next one comes out soon! Loved it! Whew so hot! Great characters and story line! I am continuously surprised at what happens next! I cannot wait to read the next book!
