Ankeny is full of dead guys dropping out of the sky under parachutes, raging with hunger
Zombies dropping from the sky with malicious hunger were looking to make meals out of ordinary citizens. The 'clickers' bite was a death sentence, very quickly changing the fear to raging hunger. Hunger only satisfied by feasting on the flesh of uninfected. A few 'ordinary' citizens fought back, relieving some of the clickers of their afterlives in gruesome fashion. A handful of extraordinary citizens were making large dents in the clicker population. Mike was one such prepared to kill any dead guys trying to eat his young. Mike had his class including his son to protect. He didn't need to teach his son and schoolmates to pick up weapons they could use to help.
The characters are amazing! Filled with friends we've gotten to know well, the cast is actively reducing the hordes of undead around Ankeny Iowa. Frank, Earl, Gabriel, Mike and Denny stand tall and swing for the fences protecting their loved ones and friends in this outbreak. It's awesome fun following old friends through their paces in this storyline. Fast paced and wildly exciting, intended to be devoured in one thrill-filled session, this is a fun great read!
This was a very intense episode to this series. Trying to rescue a bunch of kids from the high school while surrounded is no easy feat. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until the next book to see how that goes.
I loved the non-stop action. It was like everything happening at once. The flow was great! I was sad to see so many die,but I guess that's a realistic way to look at it. I am disappointed that I have to wait on # 4
Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Lots of excitement and gore, of course, exactly what I love in a zombie book. I can't wait for the next one. Go, Mike!
