I loved every second of this book. Just as much as I love watching Rachaelle live her life on Instagram and Patreon.
Rach’s writing is exceptional as always and I lost count of the amount of things I related to in this book. Raising teens is so unbelievably hard sometimes. Raising children with autism is so beautiful and challenging. Managing family dynamics in a broken family… just so many things! I appreciated every word and story she told. Also sobbed at the acknowledgements because my 12 year old Beagle passed away in November 2023 and I still miss her every day. This book is truly fantastic and Rach should be so proud of everything she has achieved and those she has helped in her lifetime 💗
So much of this resonated with me - listened on audiobook whilst walking and cried my eyes out! I did a lot of soul searching and self reflection - Rachael's writing is so raw and empowering. Listening to her voice wobble whilst reading some of the more challenging parts of this was truly heartbreaking but a huge testament to how far she has come, the love she has for the family she has created, and the determination she has to 'break the cycle'.
I’m on a mission to read as many books as I can this year and this one is by far my fave. Totally relatable. She’s so normal with such a pure heart and wonderful mindset. Just fantastic, if I could give it more stars I would! 🤣
Of the countless self-help and wellness books available, The Power in You by Rachaele Hambleton stands out as something genuinely special: not a distant, theoretical guide, but a compassionate, gripping, and deeply practical conversation with a friend who has truly been in the trenches. This book is a testament to the incredible strength that resides within us, even when we feel most broken.
Hambleton’s authority comes not from academic theory, but from lived, often harrowing, experience. Her journey, from foster care and escaping domestic abuse to building a vibrant, chaotic family of six, is shared with breathtaking honesty. This isn't a curated highlight reel; it's a raw and relatable account that makes her message profoundly authentic. When she speaks of finding light in the darkness, you believe her, because you’ve just walked alongside her through her own.
What makes this book truly transformative is its perfect blend of inspiration and actionable strategy. The structure, focusing on ‘You’, ‘Your Relationships’, and ‘Your Family’, provides a clear and holistic roadmap. Each chapter offers not just deeply personal stories and motivational insights, but also concrete “practical tips and prompts” that invite immediate application. It feels like a supportive workshop in book form, gently pushing you to reflect, heal, and grow.
Ultimately, The Power in You is far more than a memoir or a guide, it’s an empowering tool and a source of genuine hope. Hambleton extends the helping hand she once needed, offering readers the invaluable gift of perspective, practical tools, and the unwavering belief that they, too, can build a life of positivity, freedom, and unshakeable confidence. This is a book you will return to, recommend, and cherish.
What a beautiful book, it was an easy to read (even when discussing unpleasant situations) and I found it to be a complete page turner. As someone who has also experienced a turbulent childhood and has a strained relationship with some family members as an adult, reading this book felt both healing and validating in parts. As someone without children the parenting parts weren't really applicable to me but still made for an interesting, and thought provoking read. I didn't know the author from social media so went into the book knowing nothing about her but after reading she's gained a follower too.
Parenting and life can be hard, raising teens is hard raising one with neurodirvergities even harder it’s refreshing to read a book that shares the hard time but also the hope and solutions that works.
I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend. Only reason for 4 stars is I fear I was a little young for this book and that it is more targeted at mothers, I have given to my mum to read. I would recommend. ****
