A Taboo Love #3

Crossing the Line

Rate this book
Parker Hamilton - movie star! That's what the world knows about me. Oscar winner, prominent bloodline, playboy. But there is so much more to me. My friends are my real family, and they are what matters most. But I’d be lying if I said that I’m not concerned about my reputation. Everyone who lives in the spotlight is.

Listen, I can play any role - drama, comedy, romance. You name it. I can act my ass off, and I have the proof on a shelf in my office. But when my agent calls me into his office to offer me the role of a lifetime, I am hesitant. Not only would I have to act opposite Chance Steele, the most egotistical schmuck I know, but we would also have to pretend to be intimate. Really intimate. As in gay lovers.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I am as open-minded as they come. People can love whom they want, screw whom they want, even marry whom they want. But when you ask me to make out with a dude, pretend to roll around in a bed with him, well, that’s where I draw the line. Maybe.

Sometimes lines are blurry. And sometimes lines are just meant to be crossed.

Crossing the Line is book 3 of the Taboo Love series and picks up where Unmasking Charlotte left off. As withHey There, Delilah and Unmasking Charlotte, it is a standalone - so don’t worry if you haven’t read them yet - with a HEA. That means no cliffhanger! Oh, and expect to see some of your favorite characters.

Contains graphic m/m scenes. Not intended for readers under 18.

Hi! My name is M.D. Saperstein. I am currently a stay at home mom with my two gorgeous kids. I wasn't always a full time mom, though. After graduating from the University of Florida - Go Gators! - I attended law school at Stetson University. I spent the next 10 years practicing law. I also spent some time counseling mental health patients in an out patient psychiatric hospital. But, until having my own children, my most rewarding job by far was licensing families to receive abused and neglected foster children.

So, that brings us to today. In my spare time, while my children were napping, I started editing novels for other authors. The more I edited, the more ready I felt to write my own. I just needed a new and exciting story line. Once Hey There, Delilah was conceived, the ball starting rolling very quickly. I hooked up with fellow author Andria Large, and we decided to tackle it together. Best decision ever!

I spend most of my free time with my husband and children. But when I get some "me" time, I love to read. Mostly romance and erotica, but I don't discriminate - a good book is a good book, no matter the genre.

I give up.....

DNF @ 57%

I tried, I really did. But I just can't get in to this one! The premise was promising but the writing style's just NOT working for me.

I've already spent two days on this book....time to cut my losses!

Moving on.....

Re-read: 10.05.2018
It was far from as cute this time around as it was the first time. I barely got through it. I didn't like the main character Parker. He was too annoying and frankly, he didn't deserve Chance. Overall, I regret the re-read, but I couldn't find anything else interesting to read, so I just ended up with this one. Now what?...
New Rating: 2.5/2 stars
“Don’t fuck with me, Hamilton. I’m not doing this with you again. I’m not living in hiding. I want to be with a man who wants to be with me. Everywhere. Not just behind closed doors.”

The Main Characters:
Parker Hamilton, Oscar winner, prominent bloodline and playboy. Refuses to believe he can be with a man. Also, worry too much about what people would think about him.
Chance Steele, academy award winner and multi-millionaire. Because of his past, he's never been with a man since, yet Parker makes him want to change that. Don't care what people think about him.
I am truly the luckiest man alive. I guess that's what happens when you choose to take a ‘chance’ and cross the line.

The role of a lifetime:
The Movie: Burning Hearts; this movie is (claimed) going to be huge. It's based off a book series that is extremely popular amongst the ladies.
About: two men FBI agents going after a serial arsonist. Is also a love story of the men.
The roles: Jackson Hart, Parker's character and Wade Burns, Chance's character.
The director: Jerry. The director's assistant: Morgan.
My childhood started out like every other kid on my block, raised by a nanny until I was old enough to hit on her.

Other characters:
Nick Santino and Calvin King, Parker's best friends who he met while studying law. Calvin quit school and Parker quit the law. Though Parker did graduated. Nick graduated with honors. Parker practiced law for about a year before quitting. Nick is one of the top criminal defense attorneys in New York City. Calvin owns a club; Club Masquerade/Club M (an exclusive upscale sex club- a membership only club; you have to wear a mask and no talking is permitted). Charlie, wife to Calvin, (. Delilah ‘ LaLa’ (, wife to Nick.
Archibald Alistair Hamilton IV, Parker's father. Archibald Alistair Hamilton V, Parker's olderst brother. Melina Parker Hamilton, Parker's mother. A fucking horrible family.
Eddie Dugan (65), Parker's top talent agent in the country.
Maribel, Parker's housekeeper.
↦ Parker's great-grandmother (100) ‘Grams’, awesome woman.
I wonder every day if he still loves me or if I ruined that forever. I realize now that the heartache that I'm feeling is because I'm in love with him, too.

Well, this was adorable. A story about two people who falls for the person, not gender. I think it's wonderful. The book centers around movie stars Parker Hamilton (how old?) and Chance Steele (how old?) who doesn't really like each other, and though they have worked together many times before, they never really got to know each other. So when they get a part to play gay lovers, things take a turn they never expected. Overall, it was a cute story where it shows that family doesn't need to be blood, and that love doesn't have to have anything to do with gender. However, it wasn't the best story I've read, as I felt something was missing to go from ‘good’ to ‘great’.
Chance starts laughing and that's it, we fall into a fit of hysterics. We're so tired that we're delirious. We're hanging on each other, barely keeping one another on our feet while we try and make our way down the hall to my bedroom. Fuck showers. We do a quick clean up with a washcloth, climb into my bed, and fall the fuck asleep once we're able to stop laughing.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Contemporary Romance (M/M)
Series: - Series (Can Be Read As A Standalone), Book Three.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Chance Steele, I think.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Sure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably not.
Rating - 3.5 stars.

I’m such a sucker for a good M/M romance story and this one did not disappoint. I practically bounced off my couch in a fit of uncontained joy upon discovering - during an intense Goodreads stalking session - that this third story, in what was until this point solely an M/F series, would not only focus on Parker’s character, but would see him paired with another dude… to which I squealed a big and hearty HELLS YES!!

Thankfully, Parker lived up to all my expectations as a lead character, but for me it is Chance who stole the spotlight during this story. How adorable is this guy!? Yep, he’s a smokin’ hot Hollywood star, but he is also a really decent guy who knows who he is and goes after what he wants – hurray for character self-realisation!! He also had a pretty compelling backstory and I’m only sorry that we didn’t get to hear more about it. And these two guys together… Gah! SO. FRICKEN. HOT!

I also loved the reoccurrence of all the past series characters and couples. Quite frankly, I will take as much of Nick Santino (from Hey There, Delilah) as I can get my greedy hands on. *drools*

So, with my obvious fangirl crushing on all these sexy bastards, it’s safe to say I had a fun time reading this final installment.

5 STARS! THE BEST OF THE SERIES!
crossingthelineteaser

Crossing the Line is the third book in the A Taboo Love series. It follows Hey There, Delilah (A Taboo Love, #1) by M.D. Saperstein and Unmasking Charlotte (A Taboo Love, #2) by M.D. Saperstein . This installment is Nick and Cal's friend Parker's story. Parker, like Cal and Nick, was raised up to be a lawyer, but like Cal, Parker's career took a turn into something very different. Much to the chagrin of his elite and wealthy (and rotten-to-the-core) family, Parker became an in-demand, famous film star.
PARKER
Parker's got a shot at a career-changing and challenging role playing an uptight FBI agent who's out to catch a serial arsonist. Along the way and amidst the action, Parker's character and his partner fall in love. Parker has two hang-ups with this role-of-a-lifetime: His partner is a man. And his man-partner is Chance Steele. Parker doesn't relish the thought of having love-scenes with a guy, and he certainly would rather it was with any other actor besides Chance. Chance is obnoxious, outspoken and as popular and handsome as Parker himself.
CHANCE
If it weren't for Chance calling Parker a big chicken and forcing him to man-up, he would have backed out of the film in a heartbeat.
marty
(If you don't get the Back To The Future reference, we can't be friends)
As Parker and Chance spend time together to work out their animosity and need to goad one and other, they start to build a friendship and start to experiment with being comfortable with the physicality that their roles are demanding. Parker is more resistant than Chance and has a hard time coming to grips with the reality of his feelings.

Parker has a very close relationship with Cal, Charlie, Nick and Delilah, not to mention he's a very public figure and he worries about what everyone would think or say or what the repercussions would be if he were discovered to be bi or gay or whatever-the-heck it was. He gets confused, scared, and Chance, who's already been abandoned, unwanted and abused enough in his life is stung by Parker's unwillingness to move forward.

This is such a sweet, and sexy tale. I loved that these two men knew how to push each others buttons and how they grew to respect each other and love each other and stand up for each other when they needed it.

The sex scenes between Parker and Chance are deliciously sexy, but also touching and sweet. Coming together, neither one knowing exactly what was happening at first, both oddly vulnerable, was such an enjoyment to read.
He's watching, his lips parted, his eyes wide. I keep my eyes on him, loving the fact that he is actually watching and not pretending that I'm someone else. I have no idea if I'm doing this right or if it's feeling good or not.

I love this story all the way around. I loved Parker. I loved Chance. I loved seeing the characters from the past books and I felt like everything came together and played out for them just as it should have.

Me when I started this book:

After a few hours of reading:

When the a*hole I loved till then screwed up:

In the end:

All in all, a great book if you can ignore the unrealistic premise of how those two started making out and if you're a fun of the specific writing style, which is in first person with changing POVs. Me? It's obvious, I loved it. IMHO, the perfect mix of humor, emotion and drama. Was it perfect? Not at all, but it made me feel so happy reading it, that I couldn't care less. What I'd have added? more details about the film scenes they were shooting and some everyday scenes between them, watching the TV, cooking dinner, relaxing over a cup of coffee. And ok, that epilogue could only fit seamlessly in a Disney fairytale, but again, who cares? In my keeper shelf it goes:D

4/7/2016 Update
On a re-read, it stands as well as the first time; even kept me up at night because I couldn't put it down. Excellent story if you're looking more for feels and less for a solid plot. I just love those guys so much!

It looks like authors of mostly M/F books that decide to write a M/M book in the middle of a M/F series all stick to the same formula.

- Lot of women. And I’m sad to say they are the kind of women that made me stop reading M/F romance.
- There is a detailed sex scene between one of the MCs with a woman to prove his masculinity.
- One or both of the MCs consider being gay as a bad thing.

description

I wasn’t too sure about this book when I started because of all the points I just mentioned. It’s so obviously a M/M book in the middle of a M/F series.

But somewhere along the way I did start to like it.

These guys were pretty sweet together once Parker got over his issues.

description

I have to say I was expecting more of the whole famous actors thing. These guys spend most of their time together when they’re not working. None of the so called hot scenes they were filming was on page. That disappointed me.

Also, if you are writing about famous actors, please keep it a bit more realistic. I would have imagined these two having their PR person tell them what to do when rumors about their gay relationship started coming out to the press. I hardly think they can decide for themselves what to say to the public.

Still, it was an enjoyable book, with some angst at the end.

And an extremely sappy HEA, which I actually liked.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST !!!!

Wow, I cannot express what an AMAZING read this is. Hell ALL of the series are spectacular.

But why this one ? I hear you ask.......

Okay, you wanted to know......

OMG Parker and Chance !!! I wanna get my paws on them both !!!

This story is filled with humor, passion and praise the lord a HEA.

I devoured books 1 & 2, and if I am being honest at the end when there was a snippet provided about Parker's book I felt my eyeballs popping out at the suggestion of a M/M love story. Very interesting!!!!

I have read and loved lots of M/M books, but secretly I had wanted Parker to end up with some girlie with green eye's and brown hair. Why so specific Donna ? *coughs* at image of herself with Parker ;0)

Anyhow, trusting in MD I had that baby on pre-order as soon as it was available.

Well she did not disappoint !!! Parker was hilarious. His initial struggle with his attraction to Chance was soooo well written. My mind wanted so scoff that you couldn't just go from liking females to wanting and being attracted to a guy. But Chance is no ordinary guy.

But nope (popping my P) after I read Chance's POV, christ I totally got why Parker changed teams !!! I would too !!!

Chance *sigh, swoon, dribble* if only you were real baby.

Seriously, this series is fabulous, so well written. Funny as hell and goddamn deserving of 5 HUGE stars !!!

A MUST READ SERIES PEOPLE !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Well done MD xx.

I need more, pretty please ;0) xxxx

There were so many things that were wrong for me with this book. I really should have written the review before I went to sleep, while it was all clear in my head, but I didn't,so this is probably going to be a bit rambling, hitting only the bullet points of what annoyed me.

Parker is a typical poor little rich boy. He talks about how money doesn't buy happiness, and how much responsibility it is to be born rich, old money rich. All while driving a BMW, and living in a freaking six bedroom, three and a half bath penthouse in Manhattan. Excuse me while I hunt my sympathy for this guy. He seems to have walked away from being a lawyer in the family business, and is now an Academy Award winning actor.

Chance is his total opposite- born to a prostitute mother who gave him to his john dad to raise. (don't ask how a prostitute knew WHICH john was her baby daddy, that was never explained). Daddy john is a drunk, so Chance ends up in foster care, where he is sexually abused (raped) by a foster brother until he runs away at 17. He later joins the Army, before becoming an Academy Award winning actor.

Next to nothing is told about how all this came about. What finally drove Parker to leave the family business, and getting work as an actor. Or how Chance came to be an actor. They just are. I also have no idea how old these guys are, or really anything other than what I've written here.

The stories are told in alternating POVs, and thank goodness the author put the character's names in bold when the POV switched, because their voices were identical. I caught myself having to switch back several times, because I was confused about whose head I was in. The only difference, really, was Chance and his many nicknames for Parker, and Parker's inner angst over kissing a guy.

You see, these guys come together for the roles of a lifetime- two characters in a movie who are gay and fall for each other. Chance is all for it, in spite of only being with one man- the guy who raped him as a teen (seriously, he says it like that- I've been with one man. It was years ago. It wasn't voluntary). Parker is very scared and wary of kissing another guy, so much so that I don't even get why he took the part. And then he is very upset about liking kissing Chance.

The sex was.....I dunno. Parts of it were hot, but it was totally unbelievable. Two guys, with no real experience being with another man (sorry, Chance, being raped as a child doesn't count), and yet they both suck dick and swallow like experienced porn stars, and when it happens, they both bottom like champs.

Then at the very end, Parker makes this grand gesture, that involves a red carpet reception (for an agent's assistant?), where Parker manages to get Bruno Mars, Channing Tatum, freaking MERYL STREEP involved in dancing around like morons. Silly, oh so silly.

I know there was more about this book that bugged me, but I think I've caught the most major things, so I'll just say that I really can't recommend it. I love a double gay for you story, but this one just didn't ring true, at all.

Forget Laurel and Hardy!

Forget Bud Spencer and Terence Hill!

Forget Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson!

Here come Parker Hamilton and Chance Steele!

Parker and Chance are Hollywood stars which are casted together quite often due to their chemistry on screen. Behind the scenes they don't come along very well...

This GFY starts with Parker getting the script for a new movie. Together with Chance he should play a mismatched couple of FBI agents who are hunting a serial killer and become lovers along the way.
Sounds familiar?!?

Even if Parker doesn't feel comfortable by making out with a guy he accepts this "role of a lifetime". Chance is much more openminded about it but keeps on pushing Parker's bottons.

In this book you don't get crazy ex's, stalkers, lifethreats or something alike. Only Parker's homophobic, snobbish douchebag family. (Except his Grams! She is fantastic!) So the story is low-angsty and concentrates more on the relationship between Parker and Chance and their struggles around it.

IMO the end was a bit cheesy. But sweet-cheesy and not bad-cheesy!

All in all I could only thank the authors M.D. Saperstein and Andria Large for adding this great story to their wonderful series around Club M!

P.S. You can read them all as standalones!

1) Hey There, Delilah (A Taboo Love, #1) by M.D. Saperstein (MF, Taboo: boss / secretary)

2) Unmasking Charlotte (A Taboo Love, #2) by M.D. Saperstein (MF, Taboo: interracial)

3) Crossing the Line (A Taboo Love, #3) by M.D. Saperstein (MM, Taboo: gay)

Overall Opinion: This was alright. I liked the overall concept but I just think it could’ve been better. I also liked the characters. I didn’t really like how there were time jumps and we didn’t get to experience their development of feelings as much as I would’ve liked because I didn’t really feel their connection to each other. It was like we jumped ahead and was told about their connection instead of experiencing it building with them. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either...just alright.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Parker and Chance’s story. They are both cast as gay FBI agents in a upcoming movie and this is an issue because they both are straight and don’t necessarily like each other from their previous work together. There is some fun banter, some sexy times, and some drama...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Parker and Chance’s POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Alright. I never skimmed, but there are time jumps that I found annoying.

Instalove: No. More like hate to friends with benefits to love

H1 (Hero #1) rating: 3.5 stars. Parker. I liked him but I think he took too long to make his move.

H2 (Hero #2) rating: 4 stars. Chance. I liked him. I appreciated how he didn’t apologize for who he was.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Not really

Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends with what I would call a HFN ending and not enough closure for me.

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences

Surprisingly good

Ignoring the highly unlikely element in the epilogue which had me almost choking with laughter, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

I'd not read either of these authors before and I hadn't read the two previous books in the series but I don't think it mattered that much.

There was enough explanation for me to follow with who was who and how they fit together. I love a Hollywood setting, especially with actors who fall in love and realise they're not as straight as they originally believed.

I'm not sure it worked 100% in this one, Chance perhaps more than Parker was believable, but given his teenage experience I'd have expected a bit more angsting even from him.

Parker never really owned it until he was forced to but he did go somewhat to redeeming himself in the (situation aside) epilogue.

I'm not a fan of the 'gay for you' trope, to me it's more a case of 'out' or 'admitting' it because there's a whole scale and spectrum of sexuality out there.
Parker never had any serious relationships before Chance, even with women, so he could have needed the emotional connection first.

Either way, it's not a bad read and I found more positives than negatives.

Awesome chemistry, off the charts sexual tension, 'fan me down' sex scenes and two guys that have never thought about being with other men before. Chance and Parker are two Hollywood actors with very different up-bringings who just don't like each other. They accept the two lead roles in a movie which casts them as detectives who also don't like each other initially but end up having an affair. Of course, they have to do a little homework and try kissing when the cameras aren't rolling which only leads to further confusion. It turns out they have more in common than they first thought...

This book was a winner from start to finish. You just know reading it that it's going to be one you go to when you need a comfort read. The story is engaging, humorous and I personally fell for both m/c's a little myself. There are so many "feel good" moments that make this a 5 star for me. I like the little bit of snarky, the sweetness of it and the chemistry was felt throughout. The dual POV was nice too and it was written in such a way that you never lost track of who was speaking. I didn't know of the two prior books but I'm going to check them out as well.

So many “rules” were broken in Crossing the Line that it should not have been such an entertaining read to a cynic like me. Characters talked to the reader with overlapping POV’s. An accelerated timeline and somewhat surface storyline because there was more telling than showing. A pseudo-GFY, is he or isn’t he, theme. Split phrases and a few misplaced commas. Being book three of a series in which I hadn’t read either of the prior books. Convenient and cliché romance elements. Some of the dialogue during the conflict resolution became sugary enough that I couldn’t actually imagine anyone saying the words in real life.

This should not have worked. But it did.

Parker and Chance are actors who haven’t gotten along in the ten years they’ve known each other, but are now teamed up to play the leads in what can only be described as the big screen adaptation of Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux’s popular Cut & Run series – though not specifically named so in the book. Bits of Parker and Chance’s personalities and earlier interaction even remind me of Ty and Zane, though their character development and backstories are very different. They are competitive, snarky, playful, and surprisingly sweet. I like the “surprise” gay idea more than an actual GFY theme, though there is a very thin line between the two. Here, we have two men who avoided the knowledge about themselves until forced to take the blinders off, which to me makes it less GFY and more revealing of their true selves.

There is a small mention of sexual violence in the beginning of the book. It is obvious but subtle, letting the reader know how it shaped the character, while at the same time making it clear that the character dealt with the events. While I don’t think it was completely necessary, the subject was initially handled well. It was brought up briefly later as the characters became closer, and I didn’t have a problem with that either. My only issue is that during the love interest’s dealing with this new information about his boyfriend, he is comparing it to a female friend’s experience that is included in one (or both) of the previous books in this story. Many readers, myself included, avoid rape and other sexual violence in books and this series seems to make a habit of it. Very disappointed about that.

Because this is book three, two other couples are heavily involved with this story, mainly as Parker’s close friends. They are both M/F pairings, which is why I skipped reading their stories, but I felt the relationships were properly recapped enough so that I understood everyone’s place without getting lost. There is also a sex club involved. Club M is as much a character as a place because its concept is not something I’ve seen before and it is often used as a clever way to move the story forward.

After everything, I’m not sure what you, the reader of this review, have gotten from this review. I admit it is a little all over the place. I guess, in a good way, the book is a little like that as well. The characters play with each other, talk over each other, and fight with each other. The predictability of some of the events are shaken up by the timeline - you might know it’s coming but it’s rarely in the order you might expect. The interaction between the entire cast seemed to take on a playful feel no matter what was going on that I read it with a smile on my face. While it is not my usual read, I’m glad I took a chance on this one.

Two actors ready to star side by side in a movie - as gay lovers!
Chance Steele, ready to try anything, and, straight as a ruler, Parker Hamilton - let the good times role!!!!
I Loved these guys! From the first kiss to the end, I could not put the book down. It was laugh out loud funny and Hot and Sexy but at the same time heartbreaking when we learn of the paths that led them to this point in life.
And what fun to revisit Charlie, Delilah, Nick and Calvin! This is such a great series. Can't wait to see what will be next!

Wow! I have never read an M/M book; however, I have loved the two prior books by M.D. Saperstein so I decided to give it a chance. I thought the story was amazing. I am so glad I gave it a try. Parker and Chance were such a fantastic couple and I loved reading more about both of their back stories. I absolutely recommend this book for all readers of great stories even if you have not tried an M/M story before.

So I don't read a lot of m/m romances but if
this is any indication on how m/m romances are, SIGN ME UP!!! Lol! Granted their relationship seemed too forced at first but as I kept reading, their connection developed more and more. I love Parker and Chance! And God, the epilogue. It had me in happy tears! I'm sad to see this series end though! Wish there were more friends so they could have their own stories. :)

What a fun and sexy book! That shower scene -- yes! (And I usually don't go for shower scenes) Parker and Chance were so freaking hot, and their chemistry crackled.

And I loved that the book was FUNNY. It genuinely made me laugh, and I can't wait to spend more time with these characters.

Loved it! Chase and Parker were sweet, sexy and fun. My favorite in the series although I have to say I enjoyed all three books. I loved catching up with the couples from the previous books.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Crossing the Line is the 3rd book in the Taboo Love series. I loved the first two books but I think this one is my favorite one of the series. And maybe it has to do with the fact that I just love Parker. I loved him in Unmasking Charlotte and could not wait for his story. Andria Large and MD Saperstein did not disappoint with this very hot and sexy m/m story.

Parker grew up in a wealthy family and was expected to follow the road that his father paved for him. He went to law school but Parker wasn’t always the one to follow his father’s rules. He had no interest in becoming a lawyer and instead became an actor, a very successful one. The next role that is being offered to him is that of a gay man opposite another actor who he has known for quite some time but has never liked. You have to be an excellent actor, to not only convince the audience that you like your co star but to also make them believe that you are attracted to him as well. It’s not a role that Parker wants to take in the beginning but he knows that this can do wonders for his career. He just has to figure out how to play the part of a gay man, and how to do it with Chance Steele.

Chance has his own demons from his past that he has had to live with. He grew up in foster homes and never knew what it felt like to be loved. The families that took him in never really cared and in the last home he was in he was taken advantage of in ways that no one should have to experience. Chance has no issues with playing the role of a gay man. While he considers himself to be straight he is more open to the role. He will do what it takes to make sure that him and Parker feel comfortable with each other and that they both nail the parts that they have been given.

Chance continues to try to get Parker to open up to the idea of kissing him off set, preparing for the role. While Parker is hesitant and not really sure if he can do it he finds himself slowly opening up to the idea and letting it happen. As they find themselves spending more time together off set rehearsing and just hanging out, something happens that neither one of them expected. Parker starts to feel an attraction to Chance, he finds himself enjoying the physical encounters between the two of them. While he is not sure what to make of it he knows that he wants more. He wants to continue with the sex-capades that have been happening between them. As long as it stays between them and no one else. Not a problem at all. Except something happens that Parker cannot explain. Yep he starts to have feelings and it becomes more than just sexual with Chance. So what happens now? Will he admit his feelings? And if so will he ever be able to come out to the world? Or will the media do it for him?

There is so much to consider when you have been straight for all of your life and then all of a sudden this man who you never even liked comes crashing into your life. What will happen to Parker and Chance? Will they risk everything for love?

I have to say that I fell in love with Parker even more in this book. I always love a good m/m story and Parker and Chance were definitely hot and steamy together. But for me personally there also needs to be a good love story in between. It needs to be more than sex for me. And Crossing the Line was definitely more than that. Don’t get me wrong I love two sexy males more than the next person but there is something about watching two men fall in love that just gets me every time. Especially when neither one of them saw it coming.

Parker didn’t grow up with the nicest of family members. Truthfully they were just mean and nasty people who didn't support Parker's life choices. But he had his friends Cal, Nick, Charlie and Delilah. They were his family. Chance on the other hand grew up with no one but he quickly worked his way into Parker’s circle of friends. I loved Parker and Chance together. I enjoyed the love/hate relationship in the beginning, the playful and flirty banter between the two of them. I loved everything about them This is one of those stories that just makes you feel happy. Parker and Chance together was sweet and sexy. Andria Large and MD Saperstein did a wonderful job with this story. It still had the humor that we loved in the first two, it was hot and steamy and a great love story all in one. A must read!! You will fall in love with Chance and Parker.

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I love Andria Large's Renegade series and when she asked if I'd be interested in reviewing Crossing the Line I of course said yes. And I was not disappointed at all!

I have not read books one or two and as it says in the synopsis it can be read as a standalone. Of course after glimpsing the couples from books one and two I want to now go back and read their stories too. They are just that awesome and I couldn't help but love them as much as I did Parker and Chance as their friendships and support are also a big part of this story.

The only good family Parker has is his Grams, but that doesn't matter because his friends are his true family. They're the ones who will always be there no matter what. His parents and brother aren't worth the frustrations they cause him.

Chance hasn't had an easy life by any means, but he made it to the bigtime and he's proud that he's done it all on his own. Of course at the end of the day all that means is that he's alone.

Both Parker and Chance are ladies men. They're handsome bigtime actors with a sexiness that radiates off them. But when a 'hopefully' blockbuster movie puts them together as FBI agents who fall for each other things get a little tense. They've worked together in the past, but never really liked each other, and now they have to kiss and touch and make it seem real on screen. So how do they do that? They practice.

"As I take another sip of water and turn the page, my eyes skim the first line of the page. Immediately, I spew the water that is still in my mouth across the table and start choking. What the fuck? My character, Jackson, just kissed Chance's character, Wade!"

Chance forces Parker to practice and it doesn't take long for him to realize he's thoroughly enjoying touching and kissing Parker. For Parker it's different. He fights it every step of the way, especially after he discovers his body actually reacts to it.

"My breath catches. I'm really about to kiss a man…on purpose. I can't tell if the butterflies in my stomach are from excitement or dread, and that just adds to my anxiousness."

Crossing the Line is a beautifully written story that completely held my attention. It's filled with manipulating family, nonjudgmental friends, and a love that shouldn't have happened but couldn't be denied. Not to mention it has sex scenes that'll leave you breathless and wanting more. I'd suggest planning a date night after reading this. You'll need the release.

"Fucking asshole. Bane of my existence. And now he's in a god damned, motherfucking, personally tailored, form fitting Armani two-button suit from Barney's of New York. And he looks… he looks… fucking delicious! Cocksucker."

My Favorite Laughable Moment: It was funny when Parker attempts to outdo Chance at the gym. It's even funnier when they make the bet.

My Favorite Moments: I have three… First, Chance's confession at the baseball game and Parker's sweet reaction to it. Second, when Chance calls out Carla. I mean how can you not love it when he calls her a "twunt"? I know I did! And third, two words…flash mob!

I LOVE these Authors Books! This book is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It's Steamy and Hot and I couldn't put it down. The story was powerful, the writing was Phenomenal , and the way every single piece of it came together was breathtaking. I just couldn't read it fast enough, I wanted to know everything instantly! Heartbreaking at times yet inspiring too that love can find a way.

Parker is an Academy Award Winning Actor who was offered to play the role of an FBI Agent but there are 2 problems with the part. 1. The FBI Agent that he is playing, is Gay. 2. His partner in the movie is none other than Chance Steele. Parker never got along with Chance because Chance loves to make Parker's life miserable, as often as he can.

Chance Steele is an Academy Award Winning Actor who has just accepted the role as a Gay FBI Agent in a new movie. Chance is Cocky and Arrogant and he loves to make a certain fellow Oscar Winner Miserable. Taking this role has awaken feelings in him that he would rather no explore and unfortunately for him, he can't pass up a roll that could win him another Oscar.

Once filming starts, Parker and Chance are once again at each others throats due to Chance taking shots at him whenever he can. When things escalate between the two actors and a fight ensues, the Director of the film gives them 1 week to pull their heads out of their behinds or he will recast the roll.
Parker doesn't want to spend one more second with Chance but, he knows that if he doesn't somehow make this work, he could become an out of work actor because there is nothing worse in the acting world than a Temperamental, Out Of Control, hard to work with actor. Parker and Chance decide that getting the kiss out of the way would take away all of the Awkwardness, that is until they both start to enjoy it.

This is the 3rd book in the "A Taboo Love Series" and it is a MUST READ! I Can't Recommend This Book Enough!!

I will start by saying that I am a huge fan of the m/m love stories. I have immensely enjoyed each book in this series and Parker Hamilton did not disappoint me.
The handsome, smart, sexy Parker was born with a bad taste in his mouth .....it was the silver spoon that he quickly removed and tossed over his shoulder. Most would be counting their lucky stars to be born into a life of privilege but with family like his who needs enemies. He does although have the unconditional love of one woman that being his sassy, witty grandmother. I so loved her. He has made his mark in the acting world and it has certainly given him the edge with all of the beautiful woman that flock to him to warm his bed.
Chance Steele has had his own hardships. Growing up in the foster care system always feeling like the child that no one wanted was so very hard on him. Although when they did show him attention it was usually unwanted and malicious. He was able to break free at 18 and become a military man, and then eventually his good looks and strong persona gave him his break into acting.
Parker and Chance have shall we say a hate/hate relationship over the years. They have been thrown together on many productions. The result of them working together has always been the same.....they can't stand be near each other. They can't help but get under each others skin and irritate one another. Why is it that they seem to rub each other the wrong way? It is a fine line between love and hate!
When they are thrown together on this new adventure it becomes something that neither had expected. The witty banter, sassy comebacks and sexual chemistry is off the charts. I loved the awakening, self discovery and passion between them on their their journey of self discovery!!
I was gifted this book for an honest review.

NICE BOOK!!

This was a good book, I didn't read the first two but this book made me feel like I made the right choice. Parker's friends was a bit too much in Parker's business but they had there funny moments too. I went back and four from should I shouldn't I read the first two Books. Maybe I will read them later. Parker and Chance were great I know that they hated each other but I felt the chemistry between them. Chance was really funny he new what he wanted and he went after it even though what he went through when he was younger.

Parker now was a little annoying in the beginning but grew on me by the middle of the book. I could have done without Parker having sex with his f**k buddie but I guess that it had to happen to show that he was picturing chance face instead of the girl.
I have to say that they may have grown up totally different but they both have the worse parents ever except for Parker's Gram. Overall it was a great book and I will totally re-read.
