I had no idea crashing into a ditch would change my life forever.
Fate had other plans, and I never stood a chance.

A series of weather and road mishaps left me trapped in the middle of a blizzard with a complete stranger in the back of a pickup truck.

For forty-eight freakin' hours.

A stranger with long hair, tattoos, and rippling with muscle.

A stranger with an insanely sexy voice and a smile that turned my insides to jelly.

A stranger who held me in his arms, calmed me, and then set a fire in me that I couldn't put out.

I didn't know I was trapped with America's favorite bad boy guitarist, Storm Valentine. And he was in no rush to reveal his secret. He's used to getting everything he wants, and for some reason, he's decided he wants me.

Some people chase storms for the beautiful thrill. What happens when the storm chases you?

Carian Cole is a new to me author this year and after reading a couple of her books I want to binge them all! I can’t wait to get to the rest of this series, this book was a great introduction to the ‘Ashes & Embers’ crew.

Storm starts out with a blizzard. Evelyn is lost and her GPS is no help. She’s trapped in this snow storm and doesn’t know what to do. Along comes a white knight named Storm who terrifies her at first. He’s covered in tattoos, looks a little grungy, and has a dog who could pass as a wolf with him. But he has a truck with four wheel drive and she gets in the truck with him. When that truck gets stuck, they’re together for 2 long days. Luckily, Storm has supplies, but this event bonds them.

Evelyn has no idea about Storm’s true identity. She may be the only person in the world not to recognize the rock star. But Storm finds that endearing. He finds her endearing. Their chemistry and attraction is there from the start. The only problem? Evelyn has a boyfriend. A boyfriend who is a dick, but a boyfriend none the less.

My biggest issue with this book wasn’t that she had a boyfriend. As I mentioned, he was a dick and I could care less about him. I hated that she took so long to get with Storm. It wasn’t fair to Storm, who I loved. But once this couple was together I couldn’t have been happier. They were all kinds of swoony and sexy and I loved it!
Our courtship breathes slowness. It hides in the dark corners. It peeks out with tiny touches, explodes with quick erotic moments, then runs back to hide. It is both sweet and dirty, and it’s taboo.

I love this authors writing style and I’m so excited to read more of her books. I listened to this in audio format and it was narrated by CJ Bloom (who I love) and she did a fantastic job as always. This is a bit of a spin on your normal rock star romance and I really enjoyed it!

This definitely had it's enjoyable aspects (ie: the long-haired, eyeliner-wearing, dirty talking bad boi), but the constant slut shaming really killed my vibe. I feel like I'm forever on the hunt for a sassy, smutty rockstar romance that doesn't rely on slut shaming or cheating to further the plot 🙃

definitely not a favorite from carian cole

there was a lot to love and a whole lot to hate about this book. i read this 100% on audiobook (which i pretty much never do) and i zoned out for parts of it so i don't want to formally rate it but i'll try and organize my thoughts.

the story is about a rockstar who gets stuck in a snow storm with an anxious/depressed regular girl. she's been in a relationship for 12 years with the same guy and is bored. they fool around over the course of about 3 days and she continues in her 12 yr relationship until she finally decides that she wants a real relationship with the rockstar.

so yes, there is cheating

but that's not even what i took issue with. i think cheating can be justified, there are no absolutes in life. but i didn't like that the majority of the relationship was based on sex. i understand that the rockstar is "sensual" because you reminded us every other sentence. but where are the commonalities? what is making this relationship something sustainable?

it was a major step back from cole's other works in my opinion. she typically does an excellent job convincing you that the main characters should be together. which is pretty important in a book like this when there are some issues of morality surrounding a potential relationship.

but there were a couple of things i liked

there was no actual sex until the two characters were in a committed relationship. so there was emotional cheating and some... play? i guess you could say but no penetration (please murder me).

i also liked how (and this is common for cole's books) the bland girl had agency. she didn't immediately move in with the rockstar. she found a job that worked for her and got her own place so she could explore their new relationship on her own terms. that was pretty cool.

oh. but i just remembered he proposed by slipping the ring on her finger with his mouth. so. yeah. mixed feelings...

How can you have a beautiful ending without making beautiful mistakes?

It's a seduction she'll never be able to resist because it's inevitable. She's already in a relationship with someone else and he's realising that she's everything he could possibly want. Can rock musician Storm Valentine convince Evelyn to risk it all for him?

Evie has spent the last twelve years in a relationship that has slowly been reaching its expiration date. She had no intentions of parting ways with her boyfriend until Storm turned her life upside down. She could blame him or admit the truth to herself.

I am stagnant, scared, frozen, trembling. Aching. I want to turn around and just let him do anything. Everything. I want to unravel beneath him and be nothing but his. His, his, his.

When Storm and Evie get caught in a blizzard together, they forge a connection which is firstly justified as a friendship until it becomes more. Evie will need to make some serious life changing decisions if these two want a future together.

Our courtship breathes slowness. It hides in the dark corners. It peeks out with tiny touches, explodes with quick erotic moments, then runs back to hide. It is both sweet and dirty, and it’s taboo.

I have honestly developed an unhealthy addiction for anything Carian Cole writes. Fortunately I have a few more books to get through before the binge ends. I adore all her characters but I gotta say that Evie was my least favourite thus far. Her reservations and hesitation in initially pursuing anything with Storm were warranted. However she was a little prickly and irrational while he wore his heart on his sleeve. The story itself I loved. Slight triggers as this book contains mild cheating. 💙

What happens when two strangers get stuck together in a car because of a blizzard? With just a blanket to protect them from the cold and snacks to survive? Will they kill each other or will they create a bond that will be hard to break?

"How can you have a beautiful ending without making beautiful mistakes?"

Evelyn drives one awful day because of her job and she has an accident, in which her car gets stuck in the snow. Storm tries to help her and when she finally accepts a ride from her only lifesaver they crush and get stuck in the dangerous blizzard, without a possible way to get out of there. An isolated place, no signal on their phones and they get stuck together for a few days, along with Storm's dog, Niko, surrounded by the thick snow. They feel like they're into a snow globe.

Evie has no idea that this handsome, dangerous looking stranger is actually a famous rockstar. Storm and Evie feel a special bonding by the time they have to seperate ways, but Storm has set his eyes now on her and he won't let her go that easy. Storm is a character that you will love. He's going to make you swoon.

Evie will probably make you feel various emotions. Personally speaking, I thought at first that she acted childish and had me rolling my eyes at her words and reactions. She was also funny and sarcastic and I did laugh a couple of times though, so thumbs up for that. And she had some character development during the story, so I'm glad to say that she grew on me.

The only problem I had with this beautiful story, was Michael.

"Sometimes, it’s easy to slip into denial about what’s going on in life. It’s safer and easier to exist within the confines of what is comfortable than to venture out and allow yourself to experience new things that might shake the foundation that has become your safety net."

Storm is a really original story in my opinion, well written, especially considering that this is a debut novel and with characters that make you feel attached to them. I especially loved the pets. Who doesn't love an abused dog and a deaf cat? I love that the money from the sales will be donated on dog & cat rescue organizations.

I loved his family members and I can't wait to read Asher's story. I wasn't interested so much in his cousin Vandal, until the revelation around 95% that made me want to read his story asap! I have a feeling that Vandal will break my heart, but bring it on!

Overall Opinion: This was disappointing to me. I thought the premise was really unique and exciting, but it just fell flat. Past their time stuck in the blizzard (there were some cute moments there), I didn't get the "connection" between them. I found he heroine extremely annoying (see below) and it wasn't a "case of the golden vagina" because he falls in love with her before they have sex...so I just don't get why he stuck around.

Storyline: This is Evelyn and Storm's story. They meet on the side of the road in a blizzard. Evelyn has wrecked her car in a ditch and then he crashed his truck after a deer jumps in front of them once she joins him. They bond over their situation (even though it might not seem that way because they fight a lot too) and they are stuck in his truck for 2 days until the snow stops. After the couple goes their separate ways, Evelyn learns that he is a famous rockstar. They connected, but Evelyn is in a relationship with the same man/boy that she has been with for 12 years. She fights her feelings for Storm even though he has decided to pursue her (even when he doesn't "do relationships") and is making it hard for her to fight. Eventually (like at the 85% mark), they get together and find their HFN.

POV: Evelyn's POV

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I just hate that we didn't get that much time with them as a couple because it took so long for them to get there.

H rating: 3 stars. Storm. ...so I guess I'll have to say 3 stars because he was just "ok"

h rating: 1 star. Evelyn. She ruined the book for me. She was super annoying and really judgmental! I almost didn't get past the initial meeting in the blizzard because she was so freaking dramatic (and not in a fun way). Every time Storm made any move on her physically she was all about until it was OVER (or at least she had an orgasm), and then she'd act like it was all on him for making her cheat as if he forced her!! So freaking annoying. I don't know why he stuck with his pursuit of her because she was downright mean at some points...for example (for context...he explains to her why he doesn't do relationships except a few different "f*ck buddies" and this is how she responds):

"Well, that’s romantic, Storm. And therein is why I would never be with someone like you. I don’t want to be with some pig who just goes around randomly fucking girls with no regard to their commitment and values. That’s why God made sluts— so men like you can have something to keep their feeble little one track minds happy, because they’re too shallow to have real relationships.”

Angst level: Low. No tissues needed, just a smack across the face for Evelyn to get her sh*t together and stop being so damn wishy-washy.

Heat level: Moderate. Storm was pretty steamy at times. Evelyn had only been with the one man and was inexperienced (especially compared to Storm), but she was pretty willing to steam things up with him (even though she would yell at him and project her guilt on to him because she was cheating).

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: I would put this in the HFN category because we get a little closure as to the stability of their commitment , but I wouldn't say I felt personally secure in their potential success as a couple. This might also be because we really didn't experience them as a couple for very many scenes.

DNF @ 70%. And if I’m DNFing something so close to the finish line, you better believe i’m Mad and rating it!

Where do I begin folks?

How about the immature writing? It’s really not engaging. See my comments in status updates. Just freaking boring! So surface level!

@70% there’s no sex between the H/h. But they’ve had sex with other ppl. She’s in a 12 yr relationship, never had sex but her bf. And he’s a rocker getting BJs from random sluts. Wonderful.

But hey, they HOLD HANDS!! And he’s dry humped her to orgasm and given HER a BJ. So all’s good.

NOT.

So not a fan of this chick. Annoying!! Can’t stand a woman who doesn’t Know what she wants and is afraid of everything. No idea why Storm likes her.

Storm is passable, except the man whore thing. This book gets 2 stars from him.

Honestly ppl, no chemistry, no emotional depth, no hot sex, nothing.

At freaking 70%!!!!!!

Done.

I take it back, storm gets 1 star. Now i’m Done. So pissed I wasted my time with this book. Now gotta remove the rest of the series from my shelf.

The old "cabin in the woods" story.
I wonder how many psychos have used that line.
It seems to be the basis of a horror movie or creepy novel.

Evalyn and Storm

I don't know if its cuz you hit your head,

Okay. I was not expecting that! I thought they were going to be trapped for most of the novel. However, this was a good surprise .. also very complicated. It was absolutely hilarious at times and I was like yelling at my iPad "YES .. ME TOO EVALYN" because like her I would definitely accuse the stranger of being a sociopath BUT the only difference is if Storm was stuck with me it may tempt him to become one .. hehe! The rest of the story was like a tennis match .. it kept on going back and forth and wasn't getting anywhere with that being said .. you still couldn't put it down. I like the writing and I love reading novels by new authors .. thus I'm looking forward to jumping into the next one!

But if I can't have you I want this life alone

Barely finished this one 2 stars

I loved the premise - two strangers meet while stuck in the car during a snow storm. That is where my love ended. Not even 4 pages into the book and what was supposed to be fun banter between the two main characters turned into annoying heroine complaining about everything.

Huge spoiler about this ridiculous couple.

The heroine was very annoying. I felt as if she suffered from some mental issues. Even the hero would ask her "Are you always this crazy?" (page 7)
Then later Storm said this to the heroine:
"You must be on some kind of meds for whatever mental illness you have." (page 8)
No KIDDING!!! I agree!!!!

The heroine was just whiney and nothing made her happy.
Even after finishing this book, I have no idea why the hero, who never wanted a relationship and just liked to sleep around, wanted this ridiculous heroine who annoyed everyone!!!

My opinion. You may love this book. I am not telling you not to read it. Reading is subjective.

This was my first book by Carian Cole and I really loved it. Storm and Evelyn were very likable and made a cute couple. I will say I didn't care for the fact that it took Evelyn so long to break up with her ex Mike but I could understand where she was coming from. I loved Storms family and I can't wait to learn more about the band. Overall I really enjoyed it and plan on reading the rest.

I was so looking forward to read from Miss Cole. I heard so many positive reviews about Ash & Ember series. So when I listened to Storm, I was so disappointed.

My problem with this book is the plot for the characters. Both Evie and Storm are selfish and immature. Especially Evie wigh her wish washy behaviour. She is practically cheating when she developed feeling for Storm. She did not handle her relationship with her boyfriend very well. She plays the victim.

What is it about Evie that makes Storm attacted to her? I do not know. All I know when they both trapped inside the car, Storm suddenly developed insta lust toward Evie.
The conversation and banter are immature.

I'm so happy with this book! Refreshing and different from other books of the same genre, this rock star love story, will take you for a good spin and hopefully trap you inside its romantic blizzard.

Storm, Evelyn, Niko and Halo, kept me great company while reading, and i had a blast, mostly on the first 2/3 of the book. It was amazing reading it curled up in my cozy and warm nook.

Their unique meeting and their adorable and sexy time together, had me rooting for the couple right away. So the story starts with Evelyn driving in the middle of nowhere after her GPS sent her in the wrong place. But of course she totals her car and then a sexy stranger runs to her rescue..

Storm, the sexy stranger, wanted only one thing, to hide from everything for a long weekend on his cabin, but that is not gonna happen when he rescues the feisty, stubborn girl who was driving infront him.. A girl who has no idea, who he really is..

But the rescue will go a little askew. And they will end up in the backseat of Storm's car, for quite some time. And that's where all began.

The book sents clearly a message that you can start over, no matter what happened to you, and that we need people in our lives who love us, for our real self, not just because we or they are a security blanket. In fewer words don't be afraid of the change. In a sweeter note, a portion of the book's earnings will be given to animal rescue organization. Now, how amazing is that..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- The beautiful, customized snow globe he gave her, was incredible.
- I loved their fur kids, Niko and Halo.
- I didn't like Michael from the first moment..
- His family was great.
- I can't wait for Vandal's and Asher's books.
- Amy is very a supportive friend.
- It needs a little editing. Nothing over the top though.
- I loved how real and normal Evie was for most of the book. I wanted her to keep making sarcastic comments. That's an element i missed towards the end.
- It reminds a little of the Stage Dive series. But only in the theme.
- Their first time, having phone sex was very intimate, i felt like an intruder..
- For a first book, this was excellent.

It’s been a while since I’ve hated a book as much as I hated this! Usually if I make it past the half way point, I’ll push through and finish, especially if it’s an audiobook. But I just couldn’t with this one.

This book is about Storm and Evelyn, who get stuck together for 48 hours during a storm. Unbeknownst to Evelyn, Storm is a famous rockstar, which she finds out about once she gets home. Evelyn has been in a 12 year relationship with her high school sweetheart, who treats her like shit. He basically uses her as a sex toy and a maid (like he just rolls on top of her at night, shoves it in, pumps a few times until he gets his happy ending and then the next day asks her to do the laundry, clean the house and make dinner). But Evie is just SOOOOOOO in love with him that she can’t possibly think about leaving!

The entire book is from Eve’s POV, so I have no idea why Storm is so into her. She’s a HUGE bitch! She’s CONSTANTLY slut shaming other women for literally just smiling at Storm or having big boobs, when SHE is the one who is cheating on her BF with Storm. She strings poor storm along because she JUST can’t make up her mind about who she wants to be with (because her BF is just SUCH a winner).

She’s constantly judging everyone. At the beginning of the book she thought Storm was a homeless man who would murder her (even though he was literally trying to save her life after she crashed her car in a blizzard), because he had long hair and was wearing eyeliner! Then when she got to his house, she was like “surely someone like HIM couldn’t own a house THIS nice! He looked like a CONSTRUCTION WOKER!” Fucking judgemental bitch! I literally could not stand her!

I liked Storm, which is why I listened to this for as long as I did. But since the book was in her POV, it was hard to get a sense of who he was, except for whenever he was with Eve.

Now this one started off rather bumpy for me. I was not feeling the heroine, Evelyn AT. ALL.. She worked my nerves something terrible. I was praying this got better cos she just came off as really judgmental & way too naive. Qualities I HATE to see in a lead heroine. But she wasn't naive in a clueless way. I think I could have dealt with that better.

She was more naive in like a I've chosen to bury my common sense & instincts in the sand for the sake of my sanity. And though you've actually lived & experienced more than me, you still don't know more than me- type of way.

Yeah. Nerve. Wrecking.

But thankfully by the 45% mark she got way more tolerable to me. And eventually I came to respect & really like her. It was at this point that the story started to move along & actually take shape as well. And her interactions with Storm were way more interesting. Entertaining, sexy & heartfelt.

Storm I must admit, is a sweetheart. A sexy sweetheart. I do so love him. And I felt for him. He broke my heart & caused me to cheer for the sheer strength in him when it came to battling his demons. Allowing himself to feel, love, & grow. It was beautiful.

But like I said in my review for Lukas No one else in this series will EVER capture & hold my heart like Lukas does. He's ruined me for any other guy here! LOL

So I was on the fence about reading book 2. After reading book 3 first, and now book 1, I think I must now give Vandal's story a try.

Though I've read these out of sequence, I do think this book was a decent intro to this series. So based on books 3 & 1 alone, I would recommend this series.

Happy Reading :)

Definitely not my favorite by Carian Cole. Storm was good but Evelyn really got on my nerves. It was clear (to me at least, I don't know about her) that she wanted to be with Storm and she stayed with her boyfriend for some reason. He might be a douche but what she did was not right for me.

I think I'm gonna skip Vandal because based on the reviews I read I'm not going to enjoy it but I'll give Lukas a chance. For this heroine and the predictable plot 2 ⭐

This was awful!
Here's a summary:
We have this girl who has lost her parents and has panic attacks and depression, she's been with this guy for the last 12 years, since she'd been 14.
The guy is dick who has a small dick(seriously, I'm not making that up) he knows she has panic attacks and gets lost easily while driving. So instead of driving her to her out of town conference, he buys her a GPS and sends her on her way in a blizzard. When she has pneumonia and fever, he leaves her alone to go out of town for work. After 12 years of being together he doesn't know how to deal with her panic attacks. He doesn't clean after himself and treat her like his maid. He's the one who make financial decisions so she can't buy a new car for herself.
Even his family doesn't like her. She can't reach orgasm with him and they stopped with foreplay 11 years ago. He just pushes himself inside her and she fakes her orgasm and they go to sleep afterwards. She hasn't done a blow job for him or ever used a lubricant in their 12 years of being together!
To show how big an asshole he is, it's revealed that he's been cheating on her for years. So this the sum her relationship with the boyfriend.
Enter Storm who is a rocker/bike maker/rich/gorgeous/tattoos allover/ muscled (oh I forgot to say the boyfriend's body it's nothing to write home about) with a huge dick!
They have meet cute in the blizzard and within 2 days of spending together he's giving her orgasms but it's not cheating!!!! Nooo it's only cheating if tab A enters slot B!
He keeps pushing her to leave the small dick guy and she keeps calling herself and any other girl who's around Storm a slut. I wish I had the kindle book instead of the audio so I could count the number of times she called someone a slut!!!
So she finally decides to leave the boyfriend, after having phone sex with Storm for weeks and finding an apartment without telling the boyfriend, she finally tells him that she loves someone else and is moving out. But that's OK because the boyfriend has been cheating on her too.
And She lives happily ever after with Storm!

Ughh there were so many things wrong with this book starting with NA feel to it although they are 26 and 30, their attitudes was like 19 years old. If there were so many things wrong with her relationship with her boyfriend why did she stayed? In a nutshell the book didn't make sense to my logical brain!
The only thing that I liked about the book was Evelyn's the deaf cat and Storm's dog.

3.5 Rockin' Stars!!

Storm and Evelyn meet during a blizzard when Evelyn loses control of her car and gets stuck in a ditch and Storm saves her. Later they both get stuck and learn a lot about each other during their confinement. Storm is very cocky, yet sweet with a tragic past, he’s very sexy and can pretty much have any woman he wants and he wants Evie, Evie makes him feel like himself. With Evie, he can give up the rock star persona he has to show the world. The only problem is, Evie is in a long term relationship (12 years) with her live-in boyfriend. She’s at a crossroads and doesn't know what to do… Storm is relentless in his pursuit of Evie as he tries to prove to her that he is the man for her.

“Sometimes, the right person comes along at the wrong time, and you have to just trust fate and hope it leads you in the right direction and it all evens out.”

I really liked this book but I have to say I don't like cheating…..at all!! Which is reflected in my rating, had Evie resolved her relationship with Michael before physically and emotionally getting involved with Storm I would have upped my rating. Though I have to admit Evie drew compassion from me, her circumstances with Michael and her past is not happy one. I had the impression she was a lost soul doing her best to live and survive by holding on to the now.

“I think most people settle for what is safe at least once at some point in their lives, but a person who suffers from anxiety or depression will almost always run away from goals, dreams, and new life adventures to avoid the possibility of feeling anything new and somewhat scary. It is better to live with the known than face the unknown.”

I enjoyed Storm & Evie’s banter and there were many great secondary characters, I’m definitely looking forward to reading their books.

“You gotta stop living in fear. You can’t see the stars unless you go out in the dark.”

I won't be long in this review... Not every book is for everyone and that's okay.
This book wasn't my cup of tea.
I'd loved other book by this author, but this one was a huge miss.

I couldn't connect with Storm or Evelyn.
I couldn't understand what he saw on her.
I couldn't understand why she was dating the same guy for 12 years if they have nothing in common.
I couldn't stand her judgmental self or any of her internal monologues, for what's matter. She is one of the most annoying FMC that I've ever read, and I have quite a list of those.
The way she judged everything and everyone was overwhelming!

Storm was a little better, but seen as I couldn't stand her, it was hard to accept his suddenly interest in such a boring, self centered, disdainful, and annoying person!
But he also lost me on all his speech of how he wanted her to act sexually anytime and everywhere he wanted, saying that she could never say NO to him.
Like, say what? Bitch please!

It's also a slow burn... Like reaaaally slow!
No sex before 90%, but i can't blame him... I wouldn't mind being far away from her either.

I won't extend the list of things that bothered me in this book, and I'll probably read another one in this series, just to be sure....
Storm's family really seems interesting and I want to see if this one was just a bad bump in a good series, since a bunch of friends liked.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

CJ Bloom does a good job with the narration, but even her exaggerated reactions to all the mood swings of Evelyn, started to annoy me.

Evie ruined this fkin book for me. She is judgmental and a misogynist.

Prepare yourself for an insufferable heroine suffering from SEVERE internalized misogyny and an obnoxious lack of self-love.

Her favorite word is slut, it seems. Cause she uses it against every woman she meets, at every turn.

Every single woman in this book who are not her, are sluts or *insert other misogynistic slutshaming term here.*

And sometimes she is very creative with it too! I think she refered to a girl as Miss Skank-a-lot or something.

It's impressive really...

I give you, ladies and gents, one of her best quotes:

"MEN LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON GOD MADE SLUTS."

Evie, baby girl, what does that mean...?

Are you quite alright?

Also, she is incredibly insecure, and every woman in the book is "a threat" to her, even her best friend...

Evie has ZERO desirable traits, and spends the majority of the book staying with a dude she started dating at 14, who is clearly cheating on her and treating her like trash, while she is allegedly "falling in love" with the hero and spending her nights and days putting down other women and being so degrading towards herself as well.

It's so sad to see.

Look, cheating is not ideal in romance books of course, and I rather not have it at all, but if it has to happen, I would prefer no one cheats on the heroine, and if someone has to cheat on the heroine, it DEFINITELY cannot be the hero...

This was a case of cheating here because Storm gets a blowjob from one of the women working for his band. I hated it.

Nobody likes cheating in romance books. Authors need to stop.

I enjoyed this story- for the most part however, I didn't like the cheating elements. Even though I'm not a fan of cheating, I still read the entire story as I wanted to know more.

At times I felt like Storm was younger than 30. I thought for sure he was bipolar at times, too. He definitely liked to be 'in control'. Even though he could be aggravating, he was definitely very blunt and I think he really tried to be sweet, caring - which was definitely out side of his comfort zone, when trying to get the girl who captured his heart.

I think that Evelyn should have cut her ex out of her life much sooner. Though I understand her reasonings. She was an alright character for me.

Over all- I liked the story for some humor, the basis of the storyline, and seeing how the story would evolve and resolve. I also liked the good side of Storm and his family.

However, due to the BSDM nature of book two, and the way older chick for book three's hero, I won't be continuing on with those in this series. I'm definitely intrigued by book four and will move straight to that one. Though, I feel like book four's idea was taken from a show where couples meet for the first time at the alter - who were paired together by match makers. They marry and live together for a time frame and at the end of that time frame, they decide if they will stay together or divorce. We shall see how book four goes.

I read this back in 2019 and never wrote a review, there was nothing that stood out to me about this book. Looking back now I’ve read way worse so hence my 1 1/2 stars. In no way was this book good but it wasn’t horrendous either. It’s just....unappealing.

10% in I knew I wouldn’t like it because the h is annoying. I despise weak, insecure, whiny and oblivious females and Evie was all 4 wrapped up into one.

The plot really didn’t make any sense and the situations were so unrealistic.

It’s Laughable-

h develops feelings for storm and there is some kissing.
h then remembers that she’s in a relationship of 12 years.
h gets sick and her Bf doesn’t care so TADA, l Storm to the rescue.
h gets invited to concert and takes her Bf because he’s a huge storm fan.
h then proceeds to suck face with Storm while her Bf is less than 100 feet away at said concert.
h then figures out Bf is cheating on her
h then moves into a new apartment and BAM Hea.....

Throw in some typical rockstar stuff, some Dom behavior on Storms part...And that ladies and gents is the entire story.

ASHER, the 6th book in the ASHES & EMBERS series will be releasing next month, and to say I am excited would be a massive understatement. So, while I’m waiting on the story of the man who has had my heart throughout so many books, I decided to read them all again, starting with Storm and Evelyn.
Carian Coles writing is nothing short of brilliant. I adore all her male characters and I have also fallen in love with all of their women (when I say all, I mean most...because Tabi...I’m still not 100% convinced that that girl deserves Vandal...but I’ll get back to that another time!) These stories are so addictive and I find myself getting completely lost in them, which is probably why I’ve read them so many times.
If you haven’t yet read any books by Carian Cole, I highly recommend you start here. I guarantee the STORM will leave you wanting more.

3.5 stars.

Really cute and fun with its sexy moments. I loved Storm’s character (he is so hot) and his relationship with Evelyn was really cute and entertaining. I guess my biggest complaint would be that the pacing of this book was not my favorite; I feel like the ending dragged a little too long and weakened my enjoyment of the book a bit.

However, overall, if you enjoy rockstar romances with a sexy and fun romance, I would recommend this book.

I loved this book!!! 5 Stars isn't enough! 'Storm' had me enthralled from the very start and held me tight until the end. The story was so lovely and sweet.

What would you do if you found yourself trapped in the backseat of a truck, during a blizzard, in the middle of nowhere, with a gorgeous tattooed stranger for 2 days? Hmm...

Storm was an amazing guy! He was so hot, so sweet, so easy-going, and so caring. He immediately became my all-time favorite hero because of his honest straightforward personality. I loved that he knew he wanted Evie and he never stopped fighting for her love. He was more than ready to show the world his strong feelings for her. Storm, you blew me away and ruined me for other rock star heroes! You're now officially my new book boyfriend! (Hahaha)

Evie was adorable although she was a bit annoying. She was so scared to come out of her safe world. Around the middle of the story, I felt a little frustrated that but I understood her. I knew she couldn't just simply walk away from 12 year relationship, to jump right up into the arms of a man whom she barely knew. Moreover, her boyfriend didn't do anything wrong, except for the lack of care! But later, she gradually realized that there was no passion left between her and Michael. Eventually, she found the courage to move on, to make a change, and to choose the only man who could light up her life.

I loved how Storm and Evie's relationship developed from two complete strangers to friends who cared each other, and finally deeply in love. They were so perfect together!

This one is exactly my type of book, such a wonderful romance story. Reading it brought joy to my day. Highly recommended!

I’m moving on to ‘Vandal’ right now!
