A time was had! The mess has finally ended, but not without a few more lies being spilled. Let’s see how our old friends and new friends made out in book 4:

Amari and Jeremy, the white boy - I don’t care what y’all say, these two did not need to be together after everything that went down in book 4. Especially after the incident with Marcus. I don’t feel like that was truly settled only because Amari really didn’t open her mouth to disclose what happened. 😒

India and Lo - Okay, these two really almost got me for a second. Lo definitely met her match because India did not feed into her self sabotaging ways. Instead, she challenged her and called her out. I was glad that Lo came to realize just how messed up she treated India since the day they met. Their trip to Amsterdam was so cute. 🥹

Harlem and Troy - THEY WERE EVERYTHING! Even with Troy’s secret, I still wanted Harlem and Troy to work things out because I understood why he lied. 🙂‍↕️

Reno and Teagan - Shocking, but not really shocking to know how they ended. I was happy to see that Reno finally got his stuff together especially since Teagan was not going for his BS.

Nariah and Dorian - I did not want these two together during book 4, but that was solely based on Nariah doing stupid things. It was clear that she didn’t need to be with Yoda because she wasn’t ready for another relationship. Honestly, Nariah was no good period. 🙄

Chanel - WHAT HAPPENED TO HER? ☹️

Marcus - I’m sorry, but Marcus should’ve gotten his ass beat just a little bit more. Who does something like that? Glad that he’s finally out, but .. something was wrong with him. 😳

Alex - We do not care about her!🖕🏽

Toni and Talin - Oh, they were made for one another. 💕

I wish we found out what happened with Jasmine and where is Tiffany at?

For the Love of ATL was definitely a messy, but fun ride. Maybe I’ll read The Carter Boys next?

✨Book Review✨

Finally made it to the last book and this one did not disappoint either. We got to explore some new relationships. More secrets were revealed. Of course, the drama was served on a hot plate. So let’s get into it.

Harlem and Troy- LOVED THIS STORYLINE! Harlem was trying her hardest to front but my boy Troy pepped game from the jump. I don’t want to spoil this story for any of you, but I love how Harlem broke down her walls and allowed him in. I pray they keep going strong.

Nariah and Dorian- I was messing with Nariah at first but in this book, she pissed me off and I don’t like her little ass anymore. I don’t like a fake b**ch and that’s what she is. She has some issues she needs to work on. Like learning to love herself.
Dorian, I love his chill, Yoda ass. Definitely want more of him.

Reno and Teagan- No spoilers, but I will say these two are hilarious to me. I love me some Teagan. And I’m happy to see Reno get his ish together.

Tiffany- I need her to catch these hands!

Lo and India- MY FAVORITES! I just love these two! But I’m not going to hold you. Lo PISSED 😡 me off in this one. I needed her to learn to express herself and not hold all that shit in. Can I just say I WANT India’s level of chill and not giving AF. My baby doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. I NEED MORE OF THEM! Praying to see them in the future.

Amari and the White Boy. I DON’T TRUST JEREMY’S ASS at all! The fact that Amari didn’t say shit about that secret that Marcus told her has me HOT🤬 like girl say something wtf?! I just know his little red-headed ass is about to piss me off.

Desiree did her big one with this series. I enjoyed the hell out of it and would highly recommend. Now moving on to Them Carter boys.

3 stars. ugh this series started so good but ended alright. the new characters were so unnecessary imo the originals from book 1 were enough. lo n india were the most boring but had the most book time idk why. dorian and nariah started off cool but nariah got weird so her pov got skipped alongside lo n india’s. reno n teagan were entertaining until they randomly got faded out again idk why. the way we dont know what happened w tiffany or jasmine n barely chanel didn’t make sense bc they were such a huge part of book 1. something got lost in the middle, also harlem n troy we really didnt need another irrelevant couple omg

Uggggh I’m done 😔

This series was everything it was messy, funny, dramatic..etc !

Amari and Jeremy🙄 : I didn’t want them to be together till the end, my girl deserves better than that boy even if she did get on my nerves for example when Marcus told her that Tiffany was pregnant she didn’t even react or confront him about like are we just gonna ignore that 😑?

Dorian and Nariah : Yoda my bby 🫶🏽
his calm asf but that’s acc not a bad thing for me too bad that b*tch nariah couldn’t see him as a real MAN .. whatever she was just a horrible person in that last book

India n Lo : MY BABIES 🤭🤭💓 I’m so happy for them especially Lo because she learned how to stop to sabotage herself and hurt ppl first because she was afraid to be hurt. Their trip in Amsterdam was rlly cute!

Toni and Talin : my looooves I was rooting for them since the beginning 😝

Teagan n Reno : I’m so surprised and proud of Reno and how he finally gets his shit together for Teagan and the bby. How he treated Nariah (🙄) was still wrong but he apologized and tried to just move on with his own life

Marcus… fking rapist.

Anyway there’s a lot of characters so I won’t get into all of them but yh it was definitely a great series !

4.5 ⭐️A TIME WAS HAD IN ATL OKAY?!?! When I tell you I felt soooo betrayed by Nariah because I truly was rooting for her! But, after I found out about her and Lo my WHOLE perspective changed on who she really was the whole time! She was giving fake like Tiffany! Initially i’m like why are we adding another character? Harlem, but babyyy she won me over. I loved her and Troy! I totally KNEW he had money from the jump bc ain’t no nigga gone be happy being a bum with no job, home, nothing?! nah. lol. I am just happy Harlem forgave him. I am SO happy for the whoopin Marcus got because wtf?! you really tried to rape that girl to prove something to yourself? my body was boiling I was so mad. But, his boo did not deserve to get beat up in the cross fire but hey, watch who you sleep with okay?! Dorian def. deserved better and I’m so happy he didn’t end up with Nariah fake self!! I could say so much more.. but lemme calm down lol.

A Lot

This series was a lot and I still need more . How are you going to end the book like that ? I need to know did Harlem get her own closet and what happened to Jasmine? Amari and Jeremy were my favorite couple, followed by Lo and India . I need a back story on India . You shared some details but I want to know why no shoes . I'm glad Marcus is finally living in his truth, even though he hurt a lot of people to live in it . I thought Nariah cool and just stressed out from Reno but she really was just a hood rat and I'm glad Dorian got away from her . I'm also glad Oreo changed and supported him . I could have done with out Alex in this series . She brought nothing . I strongly recommend this series .

This has to be the messiest series I’ve everrrr read 🤣 It definitely kept me entertained for sure! Honestly, I don’t think I was rooting for anyone to make it relationship wise throughout this series. Like every person in this whole damn series was a liar, cheater, hypocrite, or just had terrible qualities about them. I think the only person I truly loved was India (Lo didn’t deserve her 🚮)

Although we were warned in book 1 about the stereotypes, I still couldn’t stand how so many people were nasty to Amari because of her dark skin or how every other FMC constantly stated that essentially because they were light skin they were better than everyone.

If you are wanting a series that’s going to keep your jaw dropped then definitely start reading this asap!

Overall, the series was very entertaining. I want to know what happened to Tiffany, Chanel and Jasmine 😭. Also I don’t like how Amari just glosssed over so many things: Tiffany pregnant with Jeremy’s baby????? Her getting sexually assaulted by Marcus was not handled correctly IMO.

Didn’t really care for Nariah’s storyline …she’s just a hater , I mean her character was realllllll, but she was just so ick to me by the end of the book

Dorian deserved better.

Happy Lo and India made up, they both need therapy. I wish we got to know more about India’s back story.

Teagan and Marcus wasn’t really a shocker but I’m happy for them

Harlem and Troy were great, but they weren’t really needed … I wish we spent more time on the foundational characters.

This was the last installment of "For the love of ATL" I really enjoyed it once I figured out who all the characters were and how they fit in the story. I'm glad that Amari and Jeremy stuck together thru tick and thin. And I'm also glad that Lo and Indie got their self together and realized that they were meant for each other. As for Nariah, well she will forever be a Ho with a messed up personality. No good man is going to deal with her loud mouth. Nor are they going to be controlled by her. She needs to just stay single. Marcus finally realizing who is he was a good ending. Why fight and lie about who you really are, be you.

Let me start off by saying I enjoyed this series as a whole and had a good time with it howeverrrr..

Are we just gunna ignore the allegations of Tiffany being pregnant!?
I need to know what happened to Jasmine
I wish we would have heard more from Chanel even with her moving to Florida
I’m not sure why Alex was a “main character” I really could have done without her
Marcus you deserved that shit but also I do feel for you
And idk how to feel about Harlem and how her and Troy’s story was just kinda thrown in there..
Nariah you started off cool but you really ain’t shit

This One Hot Me In The Chest.

Book 4 and I thought I knew what to expect, but Desiree still found a way to shake me up. This installment was emotional, layered, and full of moments that had me pausing just to take it in. The character arcs are so well done, flawed, real, and constantly evolving. The writing remains raw in the best way. The growth, the heartbreak, the truth…it’s all here. Desiree continues to prove this isn’t just a series, it’s an experience. Can’t believe it’s done.

Chillle my jaw would actually not stop dropping! How is everyone a damn villain?? What is wrong with them? Love this series but I will say this last book was hella rushed. Something’s were def missing and things were left unsettled and glossed over. Nevertheless I still loved it! Also did I hallucinate Tiffany being pregnant or what?

Loved the series, there was a few grammatical errors, but I was able to look past that because it was just so good. I loved the way she told the background of each character and how they all ended up being a part of each other in some way. Jeremy and Amina were my favorite, and Lo and India were a favorite of mine as well. About to start The Carter Boyz now

This series skressed me the hell out! Everybody got on my damn nerves especially Nariah trifling ass I’m surprised Dorian stayed her as long as he did. I’m happy that India decided to give Lo another chance. Troy was for sure my favorite out of all the guys in this series. My favorite girl was Lo with those pretty ass eyes.

I mean...

I enjoyed the series. This final book did not have as many grammatical errors as the last 3, but there were A LOT. Lots of characters and a lot of drama. Overall good read for those into black fiction 🙂

This series is such an amazing way to get acquainted with Desiree’s style of writing! Although I would like to know more about each character - it ended abruptly, I am looking forward to her other novels and having them reintroduced!

I thought I’d get annoyed with all the characters but here i am finishing book 4. The author really tied them all in perfectly. I really didn’t like none of the characters to be quite honest. Also i could have sworn it mentioned Tiffany was pregnant by Jeremy but no outcome was given. I thought B was much more stronger than to take his b/s as well as India with ole girl. Toni and Talin i didn’t really get to see their relation bloom so i thought it was odd how they came about & that she was a tomboy. Jasmine fell off the face of the earth with no outcome of how things ended for her. Marcus weirdo, Nariah weirdo. I like Taegan for Rashaud although the dynamic is a little weird . That’s all folks.

I really hate to see the story end. I am glad Jeremy and his girl ended up together. Everybody grew up and progressed in there own way.
