The drama of Atlanta continues to follow the stories of each character in this 3rd edition. Nariah finally meets her match, and my very last character of the series is introduced into the story. Love, heartbreak, wild parties, fights, and sex make up the city of Atlanta. Let's continue to read!
Just here to update this profile. I'm actually not 25 anymore but I'll be 30 next year haha. Still writing. Wow. Can't believe it. Current book I'm working on as I type this; Moon Child.
Opp. And we’re back with more mess in book 3, so let’s find out what everyone was up to.
Reno and Teagan - I wasn’t surprised that these two were still messing around because Reno clearly wanted more with Teagan than he was letting on. The only problem .. Teagan saw right through Reno and his bullshit. I’m glad she put his ass in his place, but we’ll see what happens in book 4 because I know they aren’t done yet.
Nariah and Dorian aka Yoda - I don’t care what anyway says, these two made book 3 the best part. Dorian really surprised me because I didn’t expect him to react to Nariah in the way that he did. They balance each other out. Side note - Nariah beating Reno’s ass with a bat was chefs kiss.
India and Lo - Surprisingly these two are going strong and I am here for it. In a weird way, they both make sense for one another. Lo may not be overly affected as India may want, but when she is .. she hits it outta the park.
Amari and Jeremy - Bruh. I’m sorry, but I don’t get why Amari stayed with Jeremy after what we found out AND then after her having to dog walk Tiffany because she wanted to try it. Jeremy’s ass should’ve stayed in the dog house longer. They could break up in book 4 and I wouldn’t care at all. Amari definitely glowed up during book 3 though!
Alex - She’s still annoying and still nasty. Nothing about her character has changed. I hope she gets checked in book 4 because I cannot stand her.
Marcus and Toni making an appearance was what I needed, but the reality is question is .. where is Chanel and the baby?
Also, Marcus … go take care of child versus being out here slanging peen at the next fine dude that looks at you. So annoying!
New friends: Troy the plug and the skater boy and Harlem the stripper are introduced to us. Troy is bummy skater boy while Harlem is the stripper that’s about her money and using men, but somehow after a chance encounter, Troy thinks he can win Harlem over in 16 days. Do I think he can? NO.
Harlem’s chapters were definitely good, but I wonder if we’ll get introduced to the other friend Kiara.
Alright, let’s go to book 4 so we can see how things end with these crazy ass characters.
Book 3 we back with the mess! What can I say? We’re back with the old characters and a few new faces. So let me break it down for you.
Teagan and Reno- they still messing around and I think Reno really likes her but my girl Teagan is not stupid, she’s not willing to be one of Reno’s girlfriends. Reno is going through some shit, he’s been drinking a lot, and then had the nerve to show up to Nariah’s house drunk on some I want you back shit but called her Alex's name, and my girl literally beat his ass, with a Bat 😂 I was weak! Reno needs to get his shit together and fast.
Nariah and Dorian- Well all I can say was I didn’t see Dorian coming 😂 I thought he was going to end up playing for the other team, but he surprised TF outta me. Shit, he even got my girl Nariah ass shook. My girl is really feeling the nerd ass nigga. Every time she called him “nigga” instead of his name I was dying 😂. I love them.
Lo and India- I LOVE THESE TWO!! Lo mean ass is so guarded but I’m happy she letting my girl in a little bit. I want to see where this relationship goes. I pray they may peace in this book.
Jeremy and Amari- My anxiety is high when it comes to these two. I don’t trust Jeremy, maybe because he is a white man, but something about him doesn’t sit right in my spirit about him. We gone see though. Amari made me so proud beating Tiffany’s ass the way she did. I better not see that hoe no more in this series.
Alex- who cares about this hoe? 🙄🙄
We are introduced to Troy- The Plug and Harlem The Stripper. Harlem is all about her cash and not catching feelings, she is a proud paid hoe. Troy is a skater with a bummy appearance but the moment he lays eyes on Harlem, he claims she will be his in 16 days. I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
On to book 4.
Book: For The Love of ATL 3 Author: Desiree Genre: Urban Romance Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🥵🥵🥵
The characters Desiree creates feel so realistic. There is no fluff, or rainbows and ponies. Nothing is “for the plot”. You feel like you know these people. She draws real emotion from the reader about fictional people. Her characters have depth, and nuances. You can almost feel how they have taken over her brain as she writes their stories. It’s really so fascinating to read her work.
Of this series, this book wasn’t my favorite because there were too many characters I did not like on personal level. Not because they were poorly written or not thoroughly flushed out, but because IRL I would despise people that behaved this way. The book, well, the series in itself shows Black American culture is its many facets, even the parts that make us uncomfortable. Desiree depicts the full gamut of Black culture so effortlessly. The definition of “for us by us”. I can’t get enough.
Granger don’t miss!!! Tiffany got exactly wtf her ass deserved!!! She kept messing with Amari and got that ass WHOOPED!!! The way Amari and Jeremy story left off I would be perfectly fine with that being their ending. Like it’ll be cool to see them pop up here and there in other characters stories, but they should be complete. Lo and India are so cute! I love them together I really do do I hope they are able to make it! Nariah and Dorian!! YESSSSS!!! Another couple I’m loving! They are so opposite but so cute together. She really doubted my guy and he shut that shit down ASAP!!! Oh and Reno also got everything he deserved! And I love how Teagan ass did him too!!! Jasmine a dam coke head 🤦🏾♀️🤣
On to part 4!!

Book 3 brought everything I was hoping for and then some. Desiree’s storytelling stays sharp, emotional, and real. The character growth in this one hit hard. These people feel like family now, and I was completely locked in from start to finish. The tension, the rawness, the ATL vibes, it all delivered. I appreciate how each book builds without losing what made the first so strong. Desiree did something special with this series, and I’ll keep showing up for every book. Five stars, no doubt.
Enjoyed following characters from previous books, it started to get overwhelming with trying to remember all the characters and how they’re connected. I wish there was more about previous characters but also enjoyed getting POVs from characters that have been talked about in the previous books.
I noticed a lot more spelling/grammar issues in this book that were very distracting, typically I don’t notice them.
This was the third installment of this series, the story was enjoyable. We're still getting introduced to new characters, but it's all coming full circle on who is who. A few couple's I'm enjoying their relationship. Not really enjoying the single folks role in the story, but definitely hoping for a brighter future for all of them.
J and Amina are so cute, I hope they never break up. Nariah needs to simmer down because she got a real man wanting to satisfy her every need, but she's still stuck on a no-good rough ninja. Lo...... well, she's just Lo, but I know she really likes India. I can't wait to see how all these books blend together
I read this one quick.. i really enjoyed it. At first I’m like more characters to keep up with but it wasn’t bad.. i like the new characters and i liked the way the story played out.. this was a good read .. i recommend it .. on to part 4
I am loving this series.. I can’t even lie. So many turns and twists chile. Definitely something you have to pay attention to or you will miss something and chile I am tuned in
Super good. loved reading all the new characters! I love how everything is not always so perfect it gives the books dimension and you get to see real development in the main characters.
Definitely a great read very impressed and it really kept me wanting more and more. A true page turner and quite funny at times. Let’s get into book 4 please and thank you.
By now, I know what to expect from For The Love of ATL. I laughed and screamed throughout lol it was the characters saying “I know what you read in book 1 or 2 but this ain’t that.”
It took longer because I read other books. This one kind of made me sad and I had to put it down for a while. I did finish it, which led me to read the rest of the books in this universe.
I enjoyed the series but I will admit the formula becomes redundant . The drama is always messy which makes it a fun read but it becomes too predictable with the “ unexpected love” formula that Desiree has in her books ( atleast what I’ve observed from this series ).
I loved this book. I love Lo and her girlfriend. I am so happy for them. Then I love Jeremy and Amari too. Moving on to part 4. Great read about young people growing up.
