I have been working my way through this workbook on co- dependency. I always thought I could pick the co- dependent people out in a room, but, hey, guess what? I am co-dependent too!

I completed the journey through this book. It was very helpful. I identified areas of pain, and ways to recover and move on in a healthy way. One paragraph of note (out of many):

We carry an assortment of negative distorted messaes about ourselves, other people and the world at large. These messages play over and over in our heads, controlling our lives and our perceptions. You can know that - worth as a person is not based on what I do - I can face myself and accept the fact that thre are both srengths and limitations in my abilities - other people can know my faults and still accept me- I have many likeable qualities - I am a person of worth - my opinions are important - and the BELIEVE IT!!!

We are so busy "going" through life, that to slow down and recognize co-dependency in myself, and then to travel through the ten stages of recovery and learning to forgive myself and others, has been very valuable!!

Phenomenal resource. My husband & I used it for ourselves. It is now our go-to resource for singles and in marriage counseling.

Definitely a patriarchal, Christian tone, but otherwise a useful workbook to work through codependency.

A hard book to "Love" as it rips into your center and draws out the poisons. I'm told by my sponsor/counselor that completing the work in this book has improved me.

It has helped the adult me deal with the 5 year old me and her anger. I say helped because I believe that Love is a Choice is a tool that I will come back to for my tweaking of self and continued recovery from my childhood.

If you are or live with a co-dependent this book is for you. Still hard, even at the end of it to like the book ... the book was good, hard work.

This book is about codependency, and how to get over it. I read this book while I was in the hospital last week, and it helped me with my last relationship. It teaches you what codependency is, how to get over it, and how to find better relationships. I recommend this book to anyone that isn't sure about the relationship they are in is healthy, or anyone interested in making their relationship healthier.

This was a big tool for me in my late 20s. It is a great lesson for anyone who tends to be a people pleaser, and finds themselves in relationships where they often loose themselves. It helped me so much.
