Mark Cole #3

Beyond All Limits

Rate this book
The USS Gerald R. Ford is America's newest and most powerful aircraft carrier, an incredible mobile weapons platform that can spread US influence across the globe. But just as she is about to enter joint exercises with the Chinese navy, there is a military coup which results in a new Chinese government led by the megalomaniacal General Wu, who immediately orders the launch of the feared 'Eastern Wind' anti-ship missile.

The strike leaves the US carrier crippled in the middle of the East China Sea, her crew of thousands held hostage by further missile strikes. The US military is unable to respond, leaving China free to attack and reclaim Taiwan, with other nations also in Wu's sights.

Due to the threat of nuclear reprisals, US President Ellen Abrams cannot order a conventional military response, and so she calls on Force One, a shadowy covert action group led by Mark Cole, to avert this global catastrophe.

Against tremendous odds, Force One must infiltrate China, a police state home to the world's largest standing military, and rescue the remaining members of her old government from the depths of Beijing's Forbidden City, while Cole also tries to assassinate General Wu.

But when the situation further deteriorates, rumors of the secret 'Great Wall' project are confirmed - under the remote Taihang mountains is a five thousand mile tunnel network hiding China's huge nuclear stockpile, which Wu now controls.

And Cole knows that if he doesn't stop the man in time, it won't be just the crew of the USS Ford that is at risk; the whole world will be threatened with total annihilation.

Beyond all limits

Yet one more of the unbelievable Mark Cole adventures with the hero even more than the Hollywood legends of Stallone or Schwarzenegger in his ability to function above and beyond even when savagely beaten by physically superior enemies. Fortunately good reading for entertainment.

A very complex and interesting plot!

Mark and his team of exceptionally prepared men and woman strike to rescue the political leaders of China and eliminate the leader of a military coup. This is no simple task in the heart of Beijing.

Beyond All Limits: a Mark Cole Thriller

Mark and his hand picked team have recovered from their last mission and are tasked for their biggest mission so far. China has attacked and disabled a U.S. Navy Carrier and is holding not only the ships 4000 personnel hostage, but refuses to let the injured be taken off the ship. In addition a military coup has taken not only the former government officials, but also all other countries personnel hostage as well. Cole's new mission, take out the new dictator, General Wu and rescue the hostages before General Wu starts WW 3 or uses nuclear weapons to eradicate the world. The plot will give you nightmares and the action will keep you turning pages. Once again, what our military men and women face and overcome keeping the peace can't be honored enough.

dumber

All of Brannon‘s books are dumb but somwwhat entertaining. After all there’s really not many good books on kindle unlimited. This one started off so bad I had to bail out about 50 pages in. The ship is being attacked by a Mach 10 missile, some kind of bizarre hybrid of a ballistic missile a hypersonic cruise, which makes no sense at all. But even less is when it says that the captain of the ship hears the missile approaching. Apparently the author doesn’t know that Mach 10 means 10 times speed of sound. But the author up this stupidity quotient with a plot based on a bizarre aryan gang that is simply ridiculous.

Fast paced action with a unique plot

The story opened up quickly and the action was ongoing. This book could become a first class movie. I will certainly look for more by J.T. Brannan

Aptly named

I prefer action adventure novel's with a more reality. This like some video games goes far beyond, time and time again.
