Misty the Cloud lives with her family high above the valley. When her friends play a game where they turn into different shapes, Misty discovers she doesn't have this ability. Oh, but she has something else...
I'm the author of WOOL, a top 5 science fiction book on Amazon. I also wrote the Molly Fyde saga, a tale of a teenager from the 25th century who is repeatedly told that girls can't do certain things -- and then does them anyway.
A theme in my books is the celebration of overcoming odds and of not allowing the cruelty of the universe to change who you are in the process. Most of them are classified as science fiction, since they often take place in the future, but if you love great stories and memorable characters, you'll dig what you find here. I promise.
Misty, is a cloud, in the sky, high above mountains. Misty likes playing with friends above a village near a valley with a lake. Many of the other clouds put on a show one day by transforming their shapes. Misty is not successful in shapes she tried and is sad. Her father explains how she is unique herself, able to benefit many others, and makes her see it for herself.
A charming book with nice illustrations – ideal for kids just starting out to read. The story itself is very simple and will feel familiar as many which explain uniqueness use a scenario such as this.
A cute little kids story with a good message. Very short - obviously, it's a children's book. The illustrations were nice though, and the overall package of the book was quite visually appealing.
Price was a little steep for a 20 page book, but it was a signed hardcover from an author I collect, so I can overlook it a bit.
My kids both loved this book! We read it tonight, and they kept calling out the shapes that the clouds made. At the end of the book they demanded that we read it again tomorrow night. Home run from Howey, and the illustrations were wonderful as well.
Excellent kids book with an excellent story. So many kids books are absolutely terrible. With a new little one myself I have been on the lookout for good kids books and this one does not disappoint.
Great story. As expected from Mr. Howey an original problem for a cloud. And unlike a lot of his work for adults this book has a happy ending! Although I felt it was a little abrupt. The illustrations are wonderful and make the book. Recommended.
I enjoyed it. Definitely would read it to kinder and up. I like how it brings out it's okay to be yourself, you don't have to do what everyone else does. Be you because that's something special in its self.
It was cute for a kid's book. I just got it in the "Best Potluck Book Signing" package in the mail today. I intend to keep this one around for my next kiddo.
