Over four-thousand years ago, a star ship crashed on the dark side of the moon. Acting on its final orders, the AI began repairs, and then searched for a new crew. Finding Ian Williams, a virtual clone for its original commander, the AI contacts him and convinces him to undertake the challenge of getting the big ship back in space and protecting the Earth from the enemy that originally caused it to crash. Can Ian do what needs to be done without any of the governments of the planet finding out about it? Will one star ship be enough to protect the planet? Will the damn thing even be able to fly again?

This book gets a 1.5, the story is simple and lacks any sense of danger, the characters undergo no conflict, the most(and only) dramatic moment in the entire book is made by a character we have never heard of or hear from after then 2(?) page action is finished. Don't worry, if you try to read this book you'll probably stop before that point. I had kept giving this book breaks and thought that something interesting might happen, I let go of that hope around 40% of the way through. In any event having finished the book I thought I'd try the next in the series, don't bother(gave up pg18).

The multi partner thing is a big turn off, a no way in hell thing, it made things a little too convenient for this little perv, he couldn't decide on one but hey, this new world you just heard about allows you to have multiple partners. I could never respect a hero like this, this had nothing to do with beliefs just his libido. Obviously heroines have no self respect.
Another thing, he accepted everything pretty quickly and easily with no conflict. This hero, heroines and situation just makes me sick to the stomach, I guess my moral compass is too high to deal with this book.

I enjoyed the book. I don't have much to complain about but I will say why I bumped the rating down 1 star. I felt that for a book this length not enough conflict happened. I can already tell this is only the opening of what will become a great saga however we recieved very little information about what this means. I felt there was too little interest by the characters in their enemies considering the awareness they have of them. Outside of this I am eagerly awaiting future releases in this series.

Interesting

Enjoyed this book. I guess that since I qualify as an old cart. The multi member group marriages conflicts with my morals. Other than that it was a good read. The next book is also a good read. The third book has a cost increase for those of us using th Amazon Prime system. The cost of the third book is 6.99 for 270 sum pages. I will not be purchasing it for that reason.
