Say I Do

Rate this book
Ivy Edwards loved him like a prayer, fierce, blind, and all-consuming. She wasn’t chasing a fairytale. She was building a future.

But love didn’t save her. He betrayed her.

Left her with unanswered calls, a shattered ring, and a wedding no one would walk down the aisle for.

She didn’t just break, she unraveled, thread by bloody thread. And still, she wants him back.

But wanting him doesn’t mean forgiveness. It means remaking the story by any means necessary.

She’s rewriting vows in venom and silence. She’s making peace with the version of herself who doesn’t beg…she burns.

This isn’t about heartbreak. It’s about obsession.

And Ivy’s not here to let go. She’s here to make sure no one else holds what was hers.

This one is going to stick with me for a minute…

Every now and then I run across an author that makes me want to abandon my TBR! That’s exactly what K. Powell did with this one! I don’t know when these men gone learn to stop playing with these unstable women 😭😭😭😭 but Damon missed the memo!! Ivy completely stressed me out, and I mean that in the best way possible. The suspense just continued to build & the unexpected twists literally left my jaw on the floor and days later I’m still speechless. If I google sociopath, I’m pretty sure I’ll see Ivy!

Overall.. Well written, entertaining, shocking and stays on your mind way past the last page!

Love a good plot twist you never saw coming!! This book had me ready to call the boys on Ms Ivy myself. There were too many red flags that everyone around just let slide.

After I read that black lace pantie scene, I knew it was only going down hill from there. The unexpected plot twist is what made me give this a 5 star review, I really enjoy thinking a book will end one way only to be thrown a crazy curve ball!

I had the opportunity to meet the author this past weekend and her energy is what lead me to try out the book, it’s a very quick read and far from predictable! Looking forward to more from Ms K Powell in the future!!

4.5 stars. I asked Threads for a thriller by a black author and this brilliant author commented. So glad she did because this was the kind of emotional roller coaster and plot twist after plot twist that I needed! Lawd. I read it in a day. I have 4.5 not 5 because I felt like it could’ve been longer and maybe let the storyline with the detective and the main characters mom play out. I would’ve liked to see that drama.

When a heart full of Delusion meets rejection no one is safe. Ivy will stop at nothing to redeem her lover
How far will she go to hear him say "I do"?
Ivy is the epitome of delusional but Damon is no angel.
Dive into this story full of characters who are unpredictably seltish. I Love How this story twists and turns in EVERY chapter. I cant count how many times my jaw dropped at what i was reading. The more you read the crazier it gets.

Say I Do by K. Powell was a rollercoaster of unfiltered chaos—in the best possible way. From the very first chapter, I knew Ivy wasn’t your typical main character, but I didn’t expect the level of wild this story would deliver.

This book is pure mayhem dressed in elegance. Just when I thought I had it figured out—boom—another twist dropped. K. Powell weaves betrayal, obsession, and insanity into a perfectly constructed web that had my jaw on the floor more times than I could count. The part with the panties? I had to pause and gather myself.

The story unfolds like a slow burn into madness, and the deeper you go, the more you realize no one is safe. Bodies drop, secrets unravel, and by the time you reach the final chapters, you’ll be talking to the pages like they can hear you.

Every character—Daddy, Damon, Camille—had their own brand of crazy, but it was Ivy who owned the show. This was my book club’s pick of the month, and it easily became one of our most talked-about reads.

Great Story!

Lifetime thriller — but make it better. 🔥 Ivy was an unhinged FMC who was bout that life for her man, her man, her man! If “’til death do us part” was a person, it would definitely be Ivy.

Her past trauma flipped a switch, and when Damon thought he was just gonna walk away? Nahhh, sis said not today. 😭 The way this all spiraled had me clutching my Kindle like—girl, are you okay?!

And that plot twist?! I did not see it coming. My jaw legit dropped when everything unfolded. Wild, messy, emotional, and entertaining from start to finish. This one was goodt! 👏🏽👏🏽

💍 If you like your love stories with a side of obsession, chaos, and a jaw-dropping reveal — “Say I Do” is the one.

Phew chiiile...

I'm still back on the part where she put on those panties 👀 Swear that took me all the way out and then brought me back in to disinfect my entire self! But not gonna lie, old boy got what he deserved because he was playing entirely too much and I'm not sure what we have to say or do for these men to understand that when it comes to love, we are literally the least stable creatures alive, so it would behoove you to go play wit’cha mama and not me. But definitely a fun and vengeful read. If you like it a little dark and slightly insane, this is where you wanna be.

mind blown

Where do I begin with Ivy? Wow mind blown at this whole book. It was so good. 10 out of 10. Recommend the plot twist. Had me literally screaming!! Ivy wants her man and will do whatever it takes to get him back. Damien on the other hand needed to learn to stop playing with people. The twist and turns in this book I did not expect at all. I’m telling you get this book today. It needs to be on your bookshelf. I would love to see Ivy in Bordeaux ( hint hint)

A twist you won't see coming

K. Powell takes the familiar backdrop of wedding planning and transforms it into something dark and twisted. Just when you think you understand what's going on, the author delivers a twist that changes everything.

I enjoyed this read.
