Spun Tales: The Black Widow Agency

Rate this book
The ladies at the Black Widow Agency are back, bringing justice to wronged women like themselves, with their trademark blend of computer forensics, surveillance technology, and women's intuition.

In this sexy sequel, Katie, Alexandria, Jane, and Margo – with a little help from Antoine and Marcus – find themselves playing bodyguard to an unpublished manuscript. Its famous author, whose controversial medical thrillers have made her a target for adoring fans, angry fanatics, and powerful pharmaceutical interests, is in need of some protection too. But the Black Widows have a few other problems to Alexandria's unexplained disappearances, the pesky reappearance of reporter Chelsea Mattox, and Katie's unresolved feelings for her ex, Joe Kennedy.

Like its predecessor, The Black Widow Agency, I found this an easy read despite the typos or errors in grammar. The story picks up nicely from the first book in the series and of course, we learn more about each of the main characters, especially Alexandria who is such a computer whiz.
Story line a bit far-fetched but after all, it is fiction so open for literary license where even the bad guys don't suffer greatly. I liked them well enough to keep my 'signed by author' copies in my library.

What a tangled web we weave...

Strong, sexy, smart, and stealthy--the ladies at the Black Widow Agency are back, bringing justice to wranged women like themselves, with thier trademark blend of computer forensics, surveillance technology, and women's intuition.

In Spun Tales, Katie, Alexandra, Jane, and Margo find themselves playing bodyguard to an unpublished manuscript. Its famous author--whose controversial medical thrillers have made her a target for adoring fans, angry fanatacs, and powerful pharmaceutaical interests--is in need of some protection, too. But the Black Widows have a few other problems to untangle as well, like Alexandria's mysterious disappearances and Katie's unresolved feelings for her ex, Joe Kennedy.

Fun and light reading thriller about four ladies who comprise the Black Widow Agency. The book was light on the technical details of forensic computer recovery, but the message that every keystroke can potentially be recovered holds true.

The Black Widows are back! Booklist says, "...might this series give James Patterson's Women's Murder Club some strong competition?"
