But some things are worth fighting for.

☆ I was gifted a copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you hun!! ☆

Songbird Freed was just the right antidote to put me out of my misery for this love triangle of a trilogy.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Tara, has to make hard a choice-- and with that could ensue one, two, or potentially three broken hearts.

She thinks she has found happiness with Cole, but when news comes to reveal that Riley is still alive, she is once again thrown into the crossroads and torn between these two men that she desperately loves.

Author Lisa Edward really upped the ante in this conclusion. I just didn’t know what Tara was going to do, but when she did make her decision, she never looked back. #GoTara!!

With all the emotional turmoil, the anguish, that Tara, Cole, and now Riley are in, I was prepared to be in for some tears. And I was right!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

At the beginning, I was personally into Riley, although I did like Cole’s bad boy edge. But as the series went on, I realized Cole was more suited for her, and with it, my opinion changed to favoring Cole over Riley for Tara.

Who will TARA choose? Cole? Or Riley? And with the stakes and repercussions so high, how will everything turn out?

Read and you will find out!

#A stunning conclusion to a wonderful and breathtaking three-part saga that left my heart torn up into tatters and then stitched it right up back together!! Great, great job Lisa!!

I need a moment to compose myself because I have just read the BEST trilogy...EVER!
I am literally speechless, which is a rare thing for me, but I have no words to describe how much I LOVED this series!

From the get go, I was hooked, and at times, I forgot that Tara, Riley and Cole were not real people. They evoked such strong emotions within me, I found myself literally needing a breather when things got tough. And let me tell you, there are times when things got so freakin’ tough, I was bouncing in my seat with anticipation.

I found myself switching from Team Cole to Team Riley about 100 times throughout this book, but my love for Cole prevailed, because he’s my number one book boyfriend!

I won’t give too much away, but expect the unexpected and be prepared to laugh, cry, scream, gasp, and just swoon, swoon and swoon, because Songbird Freed is simply amazing!!

Team Cole Forever!!

wow I am not one for giving 5 star reviews but this one sure deserves it. I had my option on who Tara should end up with but respected the author to make the best decision for the story-line. I will not tell you who was picked and how the story went because I think that everyone deserves a chance to read it. This book does tell us what happened to Riley during that time that we all thought that he was dead. It also tells us what happened to Cole and whether or not he can hold onto the girl now that they know Riley is alive. I like how we finally get the full story on Cole and how he came to be the way he is with his family and what the reasons are behind it. This also gives us some more insight into some things that happen on military bases and again shows the strong bonds that are formed within a unit. I would like to say more but I do not want to give away any of the twists and turns in this book. I like the reader to experience them for themselves. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It is not meant as a stand alone the other two books in this trilogy have to be read first for this one to makes sense. This is an amazing book with an amazing story that makes you fall in love with that special someone all over again. If you have not started this trilogy start it immediately you will not be sorry.

I’m finding it hard to write my review for Songbird Freed because of all the clichés and superlatives that I have running through my head. Did I like it? NO, I l LOVED IT!
Lisa Edward left me hanging off a very steep cliff at the end of Songbird Caged and honestly, I didn’t know which way this book was going to go. The quote from Cole before chapter one started also threw me for a loop. But not only did I not know what was going to happen; I wasn’t sure what I wanted to happen.
Songbird Freed held my attention from the very first page until the very last. I honestly could not read this book fast enough. I may or may not have sent Lisa Edward a PM at 2 am in the morning because I was completely gobsmacked (Sorry, I couldn’t think of a better word) by something that happened. I also may or may not have used the words “OMG! I hate you right now!”. Needless to say, I kept reading a little longer, okay, a lot longer. I don’t think I have experienced so many ups and downs while reading a book, but since I hate predictable stories, I was in reader heaven. The ending left me in a puddle in my lounge chair. I loved it, but I was also sad because I knew the Songbird Trilogy was finished. 
I gave Songbird Freed 5 exploding stars because normal stars weren’t good enough.

Songbird Freed (Songbird, #3) by Lisa Edward
4.5 stars!!

“If you love someone, set her free. If she comes back she is yours, if she doesn’t, fight like hell for her.”

What an amazing end to a fantastic trilogy, one that I have loved from the very start. This book is action packed from first to last page and a very fitting end for this bunch of friends and predominantly Tara, Cole and Riley.

This book continues from Songbird Caged where we found out that Riley was alive. What would this mean for Tara and Cole’s fledgling romance? After reading Songbird I was staunch #teamriley, there was no deviating from it, but after reading Songbird Caged even I had to admit that Tara and Cole were a better fit. These two had so much in common, they were soul mates, and they had that deep all-consuming love that others could only be envious about. Their connection was so strong and their chemistry palpable and at the end of Songbird Caged I was happy and distraught. Happy that Riley was alive but also distraught as I feared what trouble this would cause for Tara and Cole.

I have to admit I admired Tara in this book, she confronts the situation head on, does not leave anyone hanging or confused, and she makes her decision quickly and stands by it, no matter the consequences. The scenes surrounding her talking to the one who was not chosen totally and utterly destroyed me. I was in floods of tears. This is what happens when you love both characters in a book, but that is testament to the author that she can evoke that kind of emotion out of you in the first place. It is Lisa Edward’s words that allow you to have that connection to both men. They are both fantastic men in their own right but there can only be one winner and you desperately do not want to see the other one get hurt, but alas, it was inevitable.

“Oh, babe. I love that you want me, because I know you want all of me. The good, the bad and the rock-hard.”

Tara still has a lot to contend with, Riley’s brother is still making appearances, making everyone live in fear and Cole’s “fiancée” is still on the periphery making her presence more than felt. In this book you really feel for Cole, he is put in such a position by his family and you will him to grow the balls he needs to cut himself free and actually go for what he wants, not what everyone else thinks he needs to do.

After recuperating Riley decides to stay in the field and once again there are scenes here that evoked a plethora of emotions out of me. I was enraged (you will know when you get there) and I was devastated (again you will know when you get there) and I will say that Lisa is EVIL! But these scenes are touching for so many reasons. I felt everything, the raw emotion that poured off the pages had me in tears, you felt every word of pain, every word of anguish, and just every word hit you right in the heart. But this part of the book was a much needed necessity and I was glad that it happened but I would have preferred if something else did not happen as it just caused more drama and I felt that these three had already suffered enough.

“We all have scars, Riley. Yours are just on the outside, so they’re more visible. It’s just proof that we have lived and endured.”

I really cannot go into details and I have tried to be as vague as possible as I do not want to spoil this for anyone, but for those that have followed this story, it is a fantastic ending. I am not ready to part with this group in a hurry and they are a “family” that will stay in my heart for a very long time. There are a lot of characters that can still be explored and I am hoping that Lisa will continue to write about them so that we can continue to catch up and see how each and every one of their lives is evolving. Tara may have got her ending but there is still a bunch of them that need one too.

“The past is in the past, remember? We both made mistakes, but we’re here, we’re together, and I’ll fight for what I want and protect what I love, and that’s you babe. Always has been, always will be.”

Wow that was quite the roller coaster ride filled with a ton on angst but a really good conclusion to the series. If you are a fan of love triangles, slurry moles and lots of angst, this is definitely your type of read.

Songbird Freed picks right up where we left off in Songbird Caged... Riley is alive and back so what will this mean for Tara and Cole. Will the triangle continue or is Cole truly the one.

I must start off by saying right from the first book, Songbird, I was #TeamRiley and still am. There was just something about him from the moment he was first brought into the story, he was hot and sexy and the perfect BBF in my mind and then throw in very masculine military man, and truly he was it for me. Nothing and no one could change my mind about him. Even in Songbird Caged, there were some #TeamRiley turned #TeamCole, but I only loved him more and then this book, the author really took Riley's character up a level and I loved him even more than I did in the first two and I truly thought that was not possible but it turned out I was wrong. WE really got to see his true character in this book as well as how much he truly loved Tara.

Tara, Tara, Tara... what can I truly say about Tara other than I absolutely hated her, from the beginning of book one to the very end of this one, she was such a selfish bitch and she truly didn't deserve the love of either of these two guys. IN my honest opinion she deserved to end up alone the way she played both of these guys through all of the books but especially in this one.

Although I wasn't a fan of Cole and his selfish ways that at times was just at bad as Tara, there were moments that I truly warmed up to him in this book. He did love Tara and when he finally got his head out of his ass he proved it to her how much.

Overall the series was a really good read that kept me engaged and at time enraged, LOL. It had some great angst, some really emotional and heartbreaking moments and really had some really great OMG/WTF moments. One thing I would like to mention though is the one thing that made this book a 4 star for me rather than a 5 star, , it was that some of the OMG moments in this book I found to be predictable, I want and need a book to shock me and leave me saying "I didn't see that coming at all" and I found this one many times I saw it happening before it did.

A year ago I read this debut novel, Songbird. It was a love triangle so of course that intrigued me. The female lead was strong and independent and I loved that. The men... don't get me started on them. A really GOOD triangle needs two strong competitors. None should outshine the other, the end result can't be obvious and with her Songbird triology Lisa Edward has truly succeeded with that. Cole and Riley are optimal opponents. I have loved following Tara, Cole and Riley through these three novels and I must say Songbird freed really honor all characters. No matter which team your on ( and you will get on a team, trust me) you will feel for all involved. I fell for my guy head over heals from moment one, but still couldn't help loving "the other guy". This complete triology is really captivating and you will smile, swoon, blush (OMG), scream and cry. Songbird freed was a 5 star read for me.

I just finished this trilogy and I cried like a baby through every book. There was so much anguish in each chapter that I didn’t want to read on but knew that I couldn’t stop. I felt so connected to each character and am sad to say goodbye. Absolutely loved this series.

AWESOME ending to one of my favorite trilogies!!!!!

Songbird Freed is the third and final book in the Songbird Trilogy. I have loved Lisa Edward's writing since day one, and that love keeps growing with each and every book. This entire series has been one hell of an emotional roller coaster, and you never knew what was about to happen. This has been, by far, one of my all time favorite love triangle stories.

"I am completely and hopelessly in love with you. Whether you want me or not, you have my heart, always."

Tara has found her happily ever after with Cole. Things are going exceptionally well. She seems to come to terms with the loss of Riley… that is until she gets the call that he is still alive. There is a massive ransom on his head, and she is the only one that has that kind of money to pay it off and save Riley's life. But in order to do this she has to travel overseas into a dangerous area and will have to come face to face with the man she once gave her entire heart to… the man she promised to wait for. I did not know what to expect once she saw Riley again. He was so damaged, and when she told him that she was now with Cole, I felt my heart rip in two. I LOVE Tara and Cole together, but I couldn't stop my heart from breaking for Riley. He is such a good man, and I didn't want to see him hurting on the inside.

"I can't let you go. No matter how many times I tell myself I've lost you, you're all there is for me. You're all I have to hang on to, from a life that wasn't full of misery and destruction and death. I can't lose that because if I do, I'll lose myself, and I'm scared I'll never make it back."

Things between Tara and Cole were not smooth sailing. Little bits of trouble always seemed to find ways into their lives. And let's not forget about the wee fact that Cole was supposed to get engaged, and finally married, to his childhood friend Prue. That whole situation was a complete clusterfuck, and I REALLY hate Cole's mother. So many times I wanted to reach through the pages and wring Cole's neck for the shit he was putting Tara through. I could not believe how strong she was being with both situations (with Riley and Cole)… I totally admired that about her. The fact that she made a choice, and stuck by it without looking back…no matter how difficult dealing with the backlash was at times. I don't know if I would have been able to do that.

There were so many twists and turns throughout the story. I remember sending angry e-mails to Lisa thinking I knew what was happening, and then a few minutes later messaging her once again saying to forget those angry messages and that I still loved her lol. I cannot even count the number of times I was certain I knew what the outcome of the book was only to be thrown through a complete loop-dee-doop and spit out on the complete opposite side. The emotions which were evoked inside of me were very intense at times, and yes, I may have cried a few tears here and there too.

"The past is in the past, remember? We both made mistakes, but we're here, we're together, and I'll fight for what I want and protect what I love, and that is you, babe. Always has been, always will be."

Throughout the trilogy I have grown so attached to all these characters, and I feel like they are as much a part of me, as they are to these books. I love the way everything ended, and really could not have asked for a better conclusion to the trilogy.

I am seriously hoping with all my might that we will end up seeing a spinoff or two on some of the other characters. I would LOVE to see more about Kelli and what happens with her and her little one now that Coop is no longer here (sad face). Also Marcus' relationship with Nicole. Oh and big thing is I would love to hear what happens to the man Tara does not chose in the end. Does he end up with his happily ever, or does his love for Tara ruin something that could be great. While all the major questions were answered in this final book, there is still so much more I would love to see. Maybe one day :)

I love when a book really makes me feel. Songbird Freed very much did that. Barely into the pages, I was already fighting the tears. I laughed, cried, sulked, worried, fumed, melted...my emotional cup ran over.
"Hey," I said, squeezing his hands so he would look at me. "Don't worry. I'm leaving my heart here for safe keeping." He half smiled. "Yeah, but you're taking mine with you."

This is the finale in a love triangle. I knew who I wanted Tara to end up with a long time ago, but things don't always go as the reader wants so I was nervous. And the hardest part of all is that both men are wonderful. Most women would love to have either.

Riley is a strong, heroic helicopter pilot in the Special Forces. They were together first. He always takes care of others and chooses to do his duty to whomever he feels the obligation instead of thinking of what he should do for himself. Commitments come before desires.

Cole is a sultry, fun playboy musician and heir to old money. Cole and Tara share the connection of music. They get each other in ways she and Riley can't. Cole has been promised to marry another since childhood though. Is he brave enough to stand up to his family?

Throughout this series, whenever Tara would seem to be solid with one of these men, something would happen to throw the other back into her life. All three must finally decide to take a stand. I believe things went the best way they possibly could, but I still hurt for the other man. The ending was beautiful. The whole book was beautiful. So much detail went into causing the reader to experience each sentiment, action and response.
I pursued Tara because from the moment I laid eyes on her, she was all I could see in my future.

I also want to give special props to the fact that although it was a love triangle filled with drama and angst, the main characters behaved maturely for the most part in this book. They didn't hold back, just came out and said how they felt, what they did, etc. There weren't as many misunderstandings as there could have been, and I appreciated the forwardness and honesty parts.

"If you love someone, set her free. If she comes back she is yours. If she doesn't, fight like hell for her"

This has been one of my most anticipated reads and it completely fulfilled my expectations. I went into this knowing that I was going to be battered about the head and heart a bit, I was right!

When I finished reading Songbird Caged I could not stop thinking about it, it stayed with me for so long and I was really worried about what was going to happen after the way it ended, with everything up in the air. I know what I wanted to happen to the characters but it was up to the author to decide, not me :)

Tara is finally with Cole, in every way and I just freaking love these two together. She brings out the sweetness in him, it was there all along but he didn't know what being in love felt like until he met her. There is something about Tara that just draws people in. Her and Cole have so much in common and are just so right for each other. If the story stopped at 20% they would have rode off into the sunset together and lived happily ever after. Life isn't a fairytale though!

"I am completely and hopelessly in love with you. Whether you want me or not, you have my heart, always" - Cole

After receiving the news that Riley is alive, Tara knows she needs to face him and their past if any of them have any hope of moving forward. The scene where they first see each other again is just so heartbreaking, Riley is a broken man and not the Riley she remembers. His feelings for Tara have never wavered in their time apart but will he be able to accept that she has changed in his absence?

There is of course the matter of Cole's interfering mother and that annoying woman Prue. Tara gets so frustrated with Cole about how he lets his mother manipulate his life and control his future and there is that moment where I was so bloody angry with him, I wanted to crawl into the story and slap some sense into him. This is a real turning point in the story where Tara really begins to question her decisions over the past year. What does she want? Is she happy with the choices she has made?

Only way to find out is to take some time to explore what she is feeling and it will bring a lot of tears and heartache (I'm talking about my tears and heartache!) with some big changes for everyone.

There are so many things going on in this story, secrets will be revealed, hearts will be broken, lots of tears flow but all under the umbrella of a beautiful love story. Just when you think you have been put through the wringer there is an amazing epilogue that will leave you with a lovely warm feeling in your chest and a sense of peace. I got all the feels reading this and it completely consumed me - this to me is the measure of a great book and a very talented author. Loved this series!

I can't end this without some Cole Michael's (Hotbod) naughtiness:

"I've decided," he said, now focusing on the other breast, "that tomorrow is a no-clothes day. From now on, every Sunday is Stripper Sunday. The only thing you can wear are stilettos."

Songbird Freed is the third and final book in the Songbird Trilogy. This of course is a twisted love triangle as all of you know by now. This was my favorite story in the series. I have to say I still am on the fence of who Tara should have picked between Riley and Cole. I love many things about Cole and many things about Riley soooo needless to say yes one of them get the HEA with Tara, but whomever gets the non chosen one will be a very lucky lady. This was a 4 star read for me. I have to give Lisa credit though I didn't feel like she was struggling with who Tara should pick it was pretty clear even if there was a moment I call "closure" with the non-chosen one. I was so happy in Songbird Caged when Riley was found to be alive because that seriously crushed me when I thought he was dead. Hopefully this isn't a spoiler for anyone because if your reading my review you should have read the other 2 by now... if not OOOPS!

Tara is in love with 2 men Riley and Cole. Her relationship with Riley was amazing until he was shipped off to war, and then things started to steam up with Cole while Riley was away. When tragedy strikes Tara feels a loss so strong that she reaches out to Cole for support and finds herself falling in love with him even more..but with a twist of fate Riley is brought back and Tara has to make a choice of which love is stronger.... but will she choose Cole the man who is set up to marry another, or Riley the man who is married to his job?

You will be in love with Riley and Cole even more in this conclusion... So I say may the best man win and who ever comes out as the "loser" hopefully Lisa will write him a story and give him and HEA as well! Thanks Lisa for writing an amazing trilogy and breaking and mending my heart through it all! I have to tell everyone I was team Riley all the way... so hopefully he gets the HEA right? You have to pick up this book to see... go get it now!

Now I am unsure how to rate this book as I have read the trilogy one after the other and frankly maybe its my fault for getting a headache half way in.The hero was hot enough I guess as is indicated by his sexual history during a truth & dare session in the 3rd installment, over 500 women(that's quite an achievement). The second hero was also hot enough(are we detecting a pattern here)

The heroine had a wonderful time with both(separately off-course) which was pity as a menage with have totally alleviated my headache so in the end I found the drama boring long drawn unnecessary similar to the Elena,Stephan,Damian triangle of TVD.You would at least think if one was an immortal creature there would be at least an experiment with bi-sexuality amongst these vampires but this obsession with Elena(uugh). But I get off topic...

I would have scored this book 4 stars but one thing always puzzles me about Alpha males portrayed in many new adult books. They have f**ked their way through countless women, claimed ways of manipulating them to their satisfaction yet are always almost brought to their knees by either a wicked mother/stepmother as is the case in point in this book or held to ransom by a demented obsessive 'fiance'

Now if that does not scream submissive male bitch & superior female alpha power than where is all the so called alpha-ness that the hero is supposed to be displaying.A good book but nothing to rave about.

First thing first, I wanna give my heartiest thank you to Lisa for giving me a great trilogy experience that I couldn't even put words into my heart. It was definitely a finger-biting journey I had with all three books and it ended with a good note, like really really great note.

Can I take back my words on the first book review that I'm always on #teamriley till the end? The second book, Caged, completely changed me! I'm all #teamcole !

When Tara has move on and is in love with a Cole, she's gotten a called saying Riley's alive. If you're guys have read the whole book of Freed,I must say it was really brave of Tara to be there for Riley and it was brave of Cole to trust her that she will be back. I knew things weren't easy for three of them, but I think Cole hit the hardest rock. He's there for Tara, he's there for her virtually, even though things weren't looking on his side in the first place but he definitely challenge his inner-self. That's what I admire about Cole. He goes all out, be it wasn't easy for him. He's definitely grow on me together with his heart like gold .

Anyway, everyone have gotten their happy ending. THAT definitely put a smile on my face at the end of the page. Go read, it's worth to get your heart going in circle once in awhile!

ps: Lisa, Caged & Freed's book covers are too much for me to handle, hahaha!

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle 23rd November 2014:

RATING: 4.25 COLE & RILEY STARS!

I’ve enjoyed Lisa’s whole Songbird trilogy. The covers have always been very eye catching and I love Riley is on this cover. I put his cover image in my head when I was reading his character.

This trilogy has a great bunch of characters that will pop up throughout the whole trilogy. Tara really has a cool group of friends who are there to support her.

Jason is a fave of mine, he is very funny.

Now I really didn’t know where to look, as Cole stood, undid his jeans button and pulled the top of his boxers down, just low enough to show the script of the tattoo.

There was a squeal and we all turned to see Jason fanning himself. I couldn’t help laughing, it seemed Jason’s crush on Cole was still going strong.

Lisa sure did give the reader the run around with Riley and Cole.

Who will Tara end up with?

I like both of the male leads, but every time I got real comfortable with Cole in this trilogy, Lisa would have him do something that made me face plant and I wondered where I was headed with my team guy.

An angst filled read with moments from Cole that had me so caught up in him and then moments from Riley that had me so caught up in him.

Love is a complicated thing.

If you like two beautiful men who have much to offer a lady, and a healthy dose of angst, then this trilogy is definitely for you.

OMG.................

****This is your warning You need supplies with this book****

This is a book I have been sooooo eager to get my hands on. For anyone who hasn't read this series you need to read from the beginning. This book will have you on an emotional roller coaster. I seriously didn't know if I was up or down.

This is the final book in this series. And let me tell you Lisa Edwards has out done herself. I really think their couldn't of been a better book written to finish the series.

This book was everything I hoped and more. I was constantly changing my mind as to which way I wanted the story to go. I couldn't guess as to the direction Lisa took us. I think It went the way it was suppose to go. But let me warn you this book Pulled every emotion from me, I cried, laughed, screamed and shouted. So be warned to read this on your own. When I got the arc copy gifted to me, I had to read from the beginning from book one Songbird and it was like discovering this series all over again.

Lisa thank you for the most amazing series. It's a series I don't think I will forget and will go back and read it again and again. You Have done such an excellent job with this. I can't wait to see what's next. This book is exceptionally stunning and flawless in it's entirety.

This gets 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

So here we have it ladies the last book in the Songbird series, and let me tell you Lisa did not hold back! I am not going to give anything away in case you haven't read the first TWO books, and if that is the case... You HAVE TO READ THEM FIRST!
Okay Tara, Riley and Cole, two men that love her with all of their hearts and she has loved them both with all of her heart. But she has to choose she can't have them both. What a difficult choice to make right? This story is of making decisions that will eventually lead you to the path that fate put before you. Making choices and then living with the consequences of those choices is what life is all about.
I cried, then I cried and oh yeah I cried some more. Don't worry some of those tears are happy tears mixed in with frustration and and anger.
Lisa has made sure that her characters loved and lived and ultimately have their HEA. I truly loved this series, I mean Cole and Riley, need I say more???
I hope and pray that we get a spin off of this series! I just don't want to say good bye just yet. An amazing Romance journey by an amazing author!!!

4.5 Stars

This was an excellent ending to a wonderful series. We pick up where we left off, Riley is alive. Tara has moved on with her life and is with Cole, which in my opinion is where she should have always been. There are many "Riley" lovers out there but I am always a sucker for the bad boy!

Cole has turned around so much from the beginning of the books. He has become such a loving and devoted person. I think he is a little to understanding and forgiving when it comes to Tara, but they always say that "love makes us blind".

Tara, hmmm, now that this is done I really did not care for Tara throughout this. I found her weepy, selfish and really unlikable. I fell in love with both Riley and Cole. They were both great men that could have probably found someone more deserving.

That is what makes a great book! You get into the characters as if they were you friends. You do not have to love all of them, it is the fact that the author stirs up you emotions that makes a fabulous book! This is one of those books! Congrats Lisa on a wonderful trilogy!

Wow, I loved reading Songbird Freed. It's book three in the Songbird trilogy. It can not be read a s a standalone, you must read the first two first. Songbird Freed picks up after that crazy cliffhanger in Songbird Caged.

At the end of Songbird Caged something major happens and in this one we see how that plays out and what effect it has on everyone. Cole is amazing, he is very supportive of Tara. After reading the first couple pages, I wanted to skip to the end and see who Tara ends up with. Of course I didn't do that and I don't recommend it but I'll warm you that you might be tempted to.

Songbird Freed and wonderful written. It hooked me from the beginning and I didn't put it down until I finished it. It's an emotional read.

Songbird Freed was a great way to end the trilogy. I hope that some of the other characters in the trilogy get their own books.
