Jai Veer Solanki ex army man and a retired Colonel from the forces and an Indian version of Lee Childs Jack Reacher goes on a mission to Goa in India 🇮🇳 to trace and find out his wife Kirti’s killers who killed her 12 years ago ! An interesting plot involving the local mafia in Goa, the goons, the vices and a lot of history added about the past prior to Independence and Portuguese 🇵🇹 era when they ruled Goa. The communal angle was unnecessary as there is enough hatred being fanned already ! Foul language also among the mafia goons could have been avoided as there is nothing more degrading than a woman’s modesty ! Without indulging in details it’s a pot boiler kind of action packed plot with violence, guns, mafia and intelligence operation from Delhi with the help of Scorpion ( an undisclosed secret service with Jas Kaur as she is in charge and a contact of JV Solanki ) the story moves fast with a little research done about the past on archeology and some secrets which were being researched. The end is a little surprising as JV finds out about his wife who was unfortunately unfaithful and leaves him shattered and as usual end justifies the means with the villains and bad ones being wiped out and JV returning to Delhi maybe to prepare for his next adventure. It’s 4 stars from me.

Set in the heart of Goa, this book is a gripping crime-mystery thriller that goes far beyond the usual portrayal of beaches and parties. It dives deep into Goa’s layered identity—its heritage, its history, and its underbelly of politics and crime.

JV Solanki, an ex-Special Forces officer, is on a mission to uncover the truth behind his wife Kirti’s murder, twelve years after her death. The one person who may have the answers is Deepika Saraswat, now living under a new name—Sherlie Laurenco, the wife of Goa’s notorious drug lord, Jack Laurenco.

What starts as a personal mission quickly escalates into a dangerous hunt involving political conspiracies, drug cartels, and buried secrets. As Sherlie becomes the center of a deadly power game, JV is forced to protect her while unraveling a mystery that stretches back years and threatens to shake Goa’s very foundation.

The story features over ten side characters, each intricately crafted with distinct motives and development arcs. From undercover agents and corrupt politicians to informants and killers, every character has a role to play in this high-stakes thriller.

What stands out in the book is its rich depiction of Goa—not just the postcard version with beaches and parties, but the authentic version seen by locals. The author brilliantly captures both worlds: from grand cruises and music festivals to the classic Goan architecture with sloped roofs and wooden windows.

What I loved about the book:
• A strong blend of genres: crime, mystery, thriller, history, and politics
• Vivid cultural and historical references rooted in Goa
• A deeply motivated protagonist and well-developed side characters
• Fast-paced narration that keeps you engaged
• Sensitive handling of themes like trauma, revenge, religion, and power

Questions that keep you hooked till the end:
What really happened to Kirti Solanki and Govind Karve?
Why is their secret so dangerous?
What role does Sherlie play in the larger conspiracy?
And who will survive when no one can be trusted?

If you’re looking for an Indian thriller that’s rich in culture, layered in narrative, and relentless in pace, The Goa Revelation should be on your reading list.
