Kim is a woman on a mission: She wants to propose to her partner, Jess, on Valentine’s Day. But things don’t turn out as planned, because Jess has a plan of her own… --- Note: Previously published in the anthology "Connected Hearts. Four Lesbian Romance Stories" (Publication Date: January 2013 by Ylva Publishing).
RJ Nolan lives in the United States with her spouse and their Great Dane. She makes frequent visits to the California coast near her home. The sight and sound of the surf always stir her muse. When not writing, she enjoys reading, camping, and the occasional trip to Disneyland. (from the publisher's website)
They really are a perfect match. Once you read this story you’ll see why. Jess is so romantic in this book. Poor Sam gets caught in the middle and you can’t help but laugh.
Intense. The difficulties of proposing to a fiancée are well described. The tension was consistently built, and the twist was entertaining.
This is a short crossover between two of Nolan's longer novels, L.A. Metro and In a Heartbeat, neither of which I have read but will consider next year.
It's a nice short story with the characters of L.A Metro. It takes place 6 months after L.A. Metro, but well before In a Heartbeat, where the main character is Sam, Jess's sister, so I would recommend to read it after the first, but before the second book. And if you liked the characters, there is a very short prequel short story for the L.A. Metro characters as well: The Wish
Oh my god that was perfection. Not just proposing at the same time but also the same ring and almost the same inscription. I love them and how perfect they are for each other. And I did feel sorry for Sam having this awkwardness of them both picking her to help them and going to the same place even... ahhh awesome.
